    You've got all the cool budget bowies covered, barring maybe the Becker series from KA-BAR (my BK-7 is my most well-loved knife but there are dozens of torture test videos on those so they're honestly skippable). Now there are just three high-end options you would have to cover for this to be, IMO, the ultimate knife review channel:

    Bear Bone Customs

    if you don’t mind me asking, what are some uses for a Bowie knife. Doesn’t the big size become a problem for some activities? And isn’t a machete or an axe much better for chopping? Thanks

    • @DonnieBAllDay
      @DonnieBAllDay  4 роки тому +3

      Good question. A large Bowie is a great survival tool. An axe will help you with wood processing, but not so much for cutting meat. A machete is great for clearing a path but not so much for skinning hide. Sure, the perfect scenario is to always have one of each, but it's not always feasible. The large Bowies were created as a carryable do all protection tool. You could use it for defending against an attack, but also do the things like chop wood and clear brush. You also have the other added benefits like, carving, processing meat and skinning. So while the Bowie can do the things the others cant, the others can't do all the Bowie can.

    Hi there. Thanks for one more excellent review. I really appreciate this and always enjoy watching your channel which actually becomes one of my favorite knife channels. Excellent job! Two questions: I am not so familiar with real Bowie knives because I am mostly carrying military combat stuff.
    The Undertaker seems to be a great all purpose knife. Do you think will also make up if it has to be used in CQC? If not, what would be your first Bowie knife choice for an all purpose military Bowie knife?

    • @DonnieBAllDay
      @DonnieBAllDay  4 роки тому

      Remember, all Bowie knives are fighting knives first. A properly weighted Bowie is the best fighter you'll ever grip. They gave birth to the military fighting knife. Due to ultimate fire power and the need for condensed gear, military fighting knives got less important. But I used mine in Afghanistan. They still matter. I carried two main blades. A Gerber LMF Infantry II and the Cold Steel XL Espada.

    • @Bartchef
      @Bartchef 4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for immediate reply. I know the Gerner and the Espada. The latter one is just a beast! I am wondering if you carried a large Bowie beside these two excellent knives. I would probably get an issue with the weight of all that gear, especially in Afghanistan. Anyway, enjoy being back and habe a nice time at home! You really earned it! What would ne your recommendation of all your Bowie knife if it would be the only one to pick up?

      I saw other reviews of it. Personally, I'd vouch for the undertaker bowie than the wild west.
      Just placed an order for one. It'll go great with my Buck Hatchet, Marine Folding Knife, Butterfly knife, and a few others.
      Also, great video Donnie B. You've founded another subscriber.

      @@CaptianNarcotics274 I guess it all depends on what you're looking for. the cold steel will have a much better grip and the condors guard will be on a lot tighter. the wild West Bowie uses a slightly better steel but they both do good treats so both will be fine

      The only real area that holds a noticeable difference is the grip. Case is better. Case steel is better, but the Condor steel is still great
