    They are replacing my Undertaker. The customer service Condor has is very good. Shit happens and sometimes a product will have some flaws but if a compamy makes it right you have to appreciate that. I have a Cold Steel leatherneck tanto and love it. I like both blades but I would be incline to think the Hollow Grind on the Condor would not be as tough as the Saber Grind on the Cold Steel, especially when it comes to hard chopping ,but for Martial knives it seem the Condor would be more agile.

    • @DonnieBAllDay
      @DonnieBAllDay  5 років тому +1

      After further research, both are hollow grinds with the CS just being shallow. My G4 however is a hollow 420HC and one of my most brutal choppers. With the Condors edge profile being that of a machete, I would have no concerns chopping.

    Ive used the W49-style some over the years dating back to VN war days.. The Wild West is about par for that style, and high carbon... The Condor has an interesting shape, being curved along it's entire length, best for draw-cuts, but lower carbon steel... I'd like the Condor blade STYLE with the Wild West steel and grip shape- that hooked grip is very important in my book, tho not necessarily a deal-breaker. Some guys are just hard to please!

    I live in Canaduh and I just learned from a local store that the Cold Steel 1917 Frontier Bowie and the Wild West Bowie can't be imported because they have Rosewood handles. I could get over the steel on the Condor Undertaker Bowie but I would probably try and make a better handle with an exposed tang and a hook on it like the Cold Steel Wild West Bowie in this video. The thing is, I don't have a workshop and I am thinking that getting it tight enough on the guard might be very hard and it's got rivets instead of screws or bolts so once you take the handles off that it came with you can't just put them back on if your own handles won't sit tight enough. I like the Work Tuff Puzon Bowie but getting one of those here in Canaduh is very unlikely. It's hard enough for ANYONE to get one of those. I guess it doesn't help not ever owning a credit card. There are some things you get online that aren't available without a credit card. I like these hard use videos. I don't beat my knives up in videos because I'm not rich by any means and I pay for all my own knives. I don't get paid to do my videos to cover the cost of destroying my knives. It's always nice to see what it takes to break them though. I watch a ton of videos before I choose a knife. Thanx for this video.

      @@DonnieBAllDay No. I have never had a credit card. There might be a way but I don't know what that might be. I'm pretty old. Don't do any online banking or purchasing. I was alive when JFK was shot. I usually buy things with a money order if I can't just walk in to the store. They used to have the 1917 Bowie here and I have held one in a store some years ago. Just at the time I wasn't looking for camp/wilderness things. These days I think it's become more important to be able to survive in the wild with the people in charge being so inept and bent on violent revolution. You could find yourself one of the unlucky survivors of a nuclear war or in the middle of some kind of Bolshevik revolution. Here in Canaduh the political situation is much worse than you have it there in the US. What we have here is what they are trying to do to you there. Trust me, you absolutely don't want what we have here. It's worse than terrible. This is the land of no opportunity and slavery level taxation. The Cold Steel for sure. Higher quality steel, saber grind, dangler sheath, and a kick ass handle. A no brainer as far as I'm concerned. The Condor has a hollow grind, and while that was what a lot of bowie knives had back in the day, it also makes them more prone to breaking during hard use.

    Did anyone try seran wrap blade,wet-fit sheath..Sponge down sheath,then your blade soaked with Wd40 or Johnsons floor wax in seran wrap,once wet,stick in side and keep working it,moving it,etc..3-4 hours to dry,(Even fully soaked)fits perfect..Try to get sewn seam and rivet edges well wet both sides..Once dry and fits,a bit of talcum powder inside sheath like the Nordic do..Presto!! I do this same when I make my horizontal tote sheaths.I completely wet the leather but it does not take much.

    I ordered the Cold Steel, the blade is wonderful and in perfect condition, but could be sharper.
    But the handle is just disappointing. The wood has been treated unevenly, the screws need to be removed and cleaned, and the handle guard is so dirty that I would have to use chemical cleaners. Which I won't do. It will be returned. Inadequate quality for the price.

      @@DonnieBAllDay Dude..no offense, but I have the Undertaker, and it most definitely IS a hollow grind. The flats are flat..obviously..that's why they call them flats, but where the grind starts tapering to the edge bevel, it is a fairly deep hollow grind. The Cold Steel is a hollow grind, but a very shallow one compared to the Undertaker.

    • @allthingssharpnpointy183
      @allthingssharpnpointy183 5 років тому +2

      @@DonnieBAllDay No offense bro..maybe you are mistaking him or something, but I have both knives, and the Undertaker absolutely IS a hollow grind.The flats are pretty large, and go about 2/3 down the blade, with the secondary grind to the bevel being short, but definitely hollow ground. Those large flats might be where the confusion is. The Wild West is also hollow, but very shallow compared to the Undertaker. At first glance, I thought it was flat grind too, so I can understand why Timbo thought they were a flat saber grind. One of the things I like about the Undertaker is that hollow grind..hollow grinds slice very well, and combined with that big sweeping belly, it cuts like a laser.. You should check out the Condor Atrox..now that is a true beast of a knife, and probably my favorite Condor.
