Great Sasuke vs. Dirt Bike Kid [Wrestling Shoot Fight]

- "In the summer of 1999, Michinoku Pro invited Dirtbike kid to participate in a "Mask Tournament" where all the competitors had to wear masks. One of the first matches in the bracket was Great Sasuke vs. the Dirtbike Kid. For DBK, this was an important match for him because not only was he facing one of Japan's GOAT but he was also going against THE OWNER of Michinoku Pro wrestling.
To Dirtbike Kid, he found it odd that he was selected to wrestle in this tournament because DBK didn't consider himself a masked wrestler. He also seemed rather upset that his match was going to be quick with Sasuke winning by submission. In an act of rebellion, when Dirtbike Kid entered the ring he immediately took off the mask making Great Sasuke super heated before the match had even started."

Dude wrestled like hes playing N64
One thing you NEVER do to a veteran like Sasuke is go into business for yourself.
But tbh Sasuke did show some mercy and let the kid breathe but if that kid went up against New Jack, Somebody prepare a casket
@@ericmonaco4509 Same rules apply.
He didn't. Learn what that term means.

So Kid gonna be broken his ribs or get too much bleed
It's literally hell😅
Almost became The Dirt Nap Kid.
Even through the mask, you could tell that Sasuke was pissed that DBK removed the mask.
Imagine it's New Jack, Meng, Dan Severn, Rick Rude instead of Sasuke 😅
@@kidwaryodproductionNew Jack would just murder him like Mass Transit
@@ericmonaco4509 yeah but Sasuke had mercy on him this time
That's when it all went wrong for him 😮
Funny thing is, Dirt Bike Kid actually looked like he had talent. He executed his many moves very well. Problem is, he was wrestling like a backyarder and just chaining together high spot after high spot, not giving Sasuke any chance or opportunity to get any moves in to complement it. And then when Sasuke DID do anything (legit or otherwise), DBK didn't sell it. Very unprofessional.
I personally don't see an issue with how Sasuke responded to this or what he did to the kid. Whether he intentionally meant to hurt the kid or not, it was a lesson in respect that needed to be taught.
Sasuke pretty much beat the puberty out of this kid
That last 45 seconds was glorious
1:10 lmao you can just see Sasuke staring daggers at the kid thinking "he really just took his mask off??"
Well no I can't, the camera blurs so damn hard you might catch a glimpse of it.
Whats the deal with taking the mask off?
Look at that neck lock Sasuke applied, DBK was legitimately screaming.
That's a standard, run of the mill, front face lock.
It's called a guillotine choke and you learn that in BJJ when you're a white belt.
@@dreddscott3873 Nope, it's called a guillotine choke abd it comes from Jujitsu .
@@stephanietremblay9851 First of all, the guillotine is a Judo move, not a jiu-jitsu move. Secondly, it's a front face lock.
Its the same move Hulk Hogan choked out that TV host with. This is basic.
@@dreddscott3873 If you hold your wrist and move your arms up "like a guillotine" then it's a guillotine choke and it's meant to either make your opponent tap or make him pass out. I've been a BJJ Blue belt since 2019. A front face lock is a wrestling move where you hold your fingers or hand and it's used for breaks after a long period of exhaustion or used to transition to another move. What Sasuke did is what he said he did and what you can clearly see in this video. It's a real standing guillotine.
When Sasuke said he did a "ギロチン" or " Girochin " , it means guillotine.
Girochin is simply the way they say Guillotine in Japan.
I think it was a combination of poor communication, not giving sasuke an inch in, it being one sided most of the time and the last straw being that scoop slam. Cuz Sasuke got slammed hard.
Yea and after a scoop slam already. He was prob mad about this dude just doin all the same moves.
Dont take off your mask in a company where it is traditional to always have it on. Let alone against THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY
In his defense someone told him he only had to wear a mask in the walk to the ring. Sasuke wasn’t aware of that and thought DBK was just being disrespectful. Still there is never a good reason to shoot on someone in a pro wrestling match. They are trusting their health and wellbeing in someone else’s hands. If that someone takes advantage of that then they’re a piece of shit.
@@Youre_Right Where you hear this at?
@@Youre_Right There are plenty of great reasons to shoot in a match. Wherever you got that idea is retarded.

Hahaha best comment ifykyk
Thats what happens when you lack respect. I have done small local wrestling shows, and you cant act like this to veteran wrestlers. Wrestlers actually talk to each other in the ring and communicate spots. This kid clearly wasnt listening to directions.
I've seen this more times than I can count, but for some reason I just realized that it looks like Sasuke wasn't even attempting any offense and DBK just kept the match rolling until Sasuke started applying ALL the offense.
From what I read, that's exactly how it was supposed to go -- a quick match, with DBK getting a bunch of offense in, before Sasuke gets his comeback and takes it home. But DBK didn't like that plan...the second part of it, anyway, so after he no-sold 6 straight Sasuke kicks, then and only then, did Sasuke remind him that he could probably legitimately cripple him if he wanted.
@@JimmyMidnite That isn't what a no sell looks like. It's absurd that you people keep using that justification.
@@redrick8900 Him shrugging off a litany of kicks from Sasuke and not going down looks like a classic no-sell to me.
@@JimmyMidnite he didn't shrug anything off. He's selling non stop from the first kick on.
@@redrick8900 I’ve seen what’s supposed to be rapid-fire kicks (in modern times, Janai Kai or Mike Bailey do it regularly). This wasn’t that. From his body language, Sasuke clearly expected DBK to go down much sooner, rather than stand up defiantly with little give. As would anyone. Especially a legend like Sasuke. In any normal world, the green horn lets the vet take the lead.
Its not about the dumb mask. Sasuke was pissed at DBK gobbling him up and not listening.
Big Damn deal the kid didn't hurt him or nothing. Just as Sasuke had a temper tantrum doesn't make him the good guy.
@@honestdavethe kid was no selling his kicks and repeatedly overused flashy moves, it’s 100% deserved.
I think so as well. He was just constantly doing all of his own moves on Sasuke for like 3 mins. Wasn’t even letting Sasuke get a chop in at all so he had it coming lol

Sasuke was shooting after he sold for DBK. Looked like Sasuke put DBK in a grovit - a brutal catch wrestling hook created in Billy Riley's Snake Pit in Wiggan (UK). You can hear DBK scream and tap almost immediately.
Bat Rastard -too cold Scorpio tells a story about how great Sasuke kicked some ass during an ECW riot.
The Grovit is one of the greatest submissions ever. Maybe the best

The japanese guy let him look strong for almost 3 minutes and then when it turns the kid doesn't want to sell his kicks?? No wonder it turned into a shoot.
Damn
@ 1:04 he throws the mask at him. That may have been the first mistake.
It’s worth noting that the Dirtbike Kid’s kicking wasn’t just over the unmasking or no-selling, he had reportedly caused problems throughout the tour and this match was just the straw that broke the camel’s back. He had a terrible reputation on the British independent circuit for being massively unprofessional and having an ego vastly inverse in proportion to his ability. Nine months earlier he had almost cost a British promotion called the UWA, which was trying to get a TV deal, its venue after he threw a shitfit in the dressing room and tried to start a fight with a security guard. He ended up promoting his own shows because he had alienated so many promoters and other wrestlers who wouldn’t work with him, before drifting out of the industry about a year after this tour. This was not the first time someone had gone out of their way to injure him in a match, and the previous instance had ended far worse for him.
I thought it was a pretty good match up until...
DBK seems like an entitled mark that was a legend in his own mind. Completely went into business for himself to try to stick it to Sasuke/Michinoku for booking him in a squash match.
Sasuke had 100x the star power, you should be thankful you even get to have a match with him. DBK tried to get himself over and make Sasuke look like a jabroni. It was 100% his own fault the match ended like that.

Is it just me or does DBKs moves look really rushed and unsafe?
They actually looked fairly fluid to me. Problem is, he did way too many of them and didn't give the veteran Sasuke a chance to get any offense in. If DBK had just listened and had respect, this would have probably been a decent if not a very good match.
I was like "it wasnt THAT bad, kid was snug" then i saw the SECOND scoop slam and ahhh yeah valid response
Did the referee spray the Dirt Bike Kid with first aid spray from Resident Evil at the end of the match?
Those kicks looked stiff
I've watched it a bunch of times, and those initial kicks, when Sasuke made his comeback, were a lot more measured, in-line with Sasuke's normal offense. From there, he definitely threw a few potatoes to remind him to not change the match on the fly lol

A Billy Big Bollocks from the British independent scene. There was a small British contingent on this tour, of which he had the least ability but the most ego.

Sasuke made his decision when that mask came off.
Not only was he no-selling, he was also stiffing his moves. He deserved it.
I have no idea what set him off, but Sasuke fucked him up.
That idiot took off his mask which he wasn't supposed to do, didn't lock up or work properly, spammed moves like a videogame and didn't sell for Sasuke on the planned finish (because, by his own admission, he "didn't feel like doing it"). He's an idiot who everyone in England hated so much that an opponent once ignored his top rope move and let him dive straight onto the floor and break his back.
@@marlondaniels7912 how stupid are you
DBK isn’t even Mexican so it doesn’t really matter
And you don’t even know how to lock up either so stfu on that
And it takes a spammer to know one
And at least he isn’t some jackass who talk shit for one match
You probably haven’t been in the ring before so stfu and try it before saying it’s easy dumbass
He wouldn't sell for Sasuke despite being sold for and he took his helmet off before the match (bear in mind that Michinoku Pro has a lot of masked wrestlers and I believe this particular tournament was entirely consisted of them) because he tried to make himself look good when in reality he always kinda sucked), so that's why he ended up getting beaten so badly.
I looked into this further, and everything up to the comeback by Sasuke was planned. It's when DBK no-sold 6 straight kicks that Sasuke took things a step further. Sasuke probably didn't like the fact that DBK immediately removed his mask at an event where the stipulation was specifically about losing your mask. But even that was apparently agreed to.
@@marlondaniels7912 Him removing the mask didn't make any kinda sense under the circumstances. But it *was* agreed to beforehand. It probably didn't put Sasuke in the most forgiving mood, though. And waffling on Sasuke's kicks was the final straw.

Regret Sasuke feels
So dumb all around. DBK wasn't entertaining on the first half (and Sasuke didn't help by being a cooperative wet noodle, and somersaulting off the top turnbuckle on his own as the DBK's legs don't even touch his head). And Sasuke just cements his rep for being a great fighter but dull wrestler to watch. Not crisp, not exciting, but not compensating with other characteristics, except maybe the occasional pissy tantrum. Kicks from a legit kicker aren't nearly as watchable as kicks from any of the other great Japanese throwing stiff "working" kicks. It's like a schoolyard fracas following some generic high spots. That ending neck submission is far and away the most and probably only exciting hold I've ever seen Sasuke do.

Why not just actually fight?
Because they did that decades ago and it did not work at all. WWF even did it; a whole Dark Side of the Ring episode about how srupid and regretful the whole debacle was😅
@@robertc6293what are you talking about? Japanese did real fights and it turned into shooto and mma and people watch mma all the time now. I dont get why you wanna watch people take turns hurting eachother. Real fights are so cool. I thought this was gonna be like a fixed shoot boxing match. Which fights in wwf were real? I would like to watch them
@@CCCSaxsonWarmonger I don't wanna see a match become a real fight because I appreciate the performance art aspect of it. a match turning into a shoot is interesting as a footnote but not fun to watch. have you seen when Maeda would shoot on people in NJPW in the 80s, before he said "i'm fucking done" and co-founded the 2nd UWF? it wasn't fun or exciting, it was Maeda kicking the legs of an uncooperative drunk or taking a cheap shot on Riki Choshu to get himself over.
as for the real fights in WWF, it was the Brawl for All tournament, and it sucked. a bunch of midcarders and Dr. Death Steve Williams, who they figured would be able to win in a shoot fight but ended up being legit KO'd. nobody got over from it, none of the real fighters who came to WWF from UFC and Pancrase wanted to do it - guys like Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn said "no" - and in fact it ended up killing the mystique of a guy they wanted to make into a more realistic threat.
Wasn't really a fight because the kid wasn't tryna fight back.... guillotined a person who didn't even wanna fight back.
Great Sasuke and Dynamite Kid(not shown here), as great performers as they are, shooting on workers doesn't mean you're good fighter or "tough guy". Because they're working, not expecting it.
That's exactly what it means
Sasuke was an old MMA trained guy out of the SUPER TIGER GYM. You have to be legitimate to train there. Also, a side note, Rickson Gracie learned leg locks from watching tapes from there. He admitted this on Joe Rogan.
When you refuse to sell you better prepar to get it for real
Dynamite was a known tough guy as a lot of people have said over the years, I would trust their judgement and Sasuke was a student of the Super Tiger Gym, which if you knew what you were talking about you'd know was one of the first modern MMA gyms in the world, so he's legit. You had to be tough to train there, so DBK made a huge mistake not working with and trying to actually fight him, Sasuke could've and would've hurt him a lot worse if it wasn't a match.
@@Colt2OO2 Don't get me wrong. DBK absolutely deserved that beat down. Just thinking that in itself doesn't necessarily say they're pro fighter level. I know Tiger Mask created Shooto, but I've seen his MMA fights. He's not that good.

I wish I could call you a idiot in English
I cannot believe people are supporting Sasuke. I know he’s a beloved figure and legend in wrestling, but it’s never okay to hurt someone just because they no-sold you. My understanding is that he broke this dude’s ribs. Ordinarily, people would get arrested for that.
It wasn’t just because of the match, he’d been difficult and unprofessional throughout the tour. The Dirtbike Kid had terrible reputation on the UK circuit for unprofessionalism and possessing an enormous ego that was inverse in proportion to his ability; nine months earlier he’d almost cost an upstart British promotion who had been trying to get a TV deal the venue they wanted to use, because he’d thrown a shitfit in the dressing room and tried to start a fight with a security guard. Even some of the most apolitical wrestlers wouldn’t work with him, and this was not the first time someone had tried to injure him in a match either, and the previous time ended up far worse for him. He drifted out of the business a year or so after this because he had alienated so many promoters and wrestlers.
what a PoS, kicking the dude in the head repeatedly. DBK was being way too offensive yes, but that doesn't mean you can give the guy potential brain damage because you are throwing a fit.
In wrestling being disrespectful is the worst sin.
You must be DBK’s burner
You don’t disrespect someone’s business
You have brain damage with all those woke people too
Just by looking at this match, Dirt bike Kid removed his mask in anger, maybe because he was supposed to go under Sasuke even though he was a champion at this time (belt worn at the beginning). And throughout the match both competitors wanted to get through this as quickly and as painlessly as possible, Kid dominates Sasuke throughout the beginning, and Sasuke gets the comeback/surprise win at the end. But you could see the two rushing through the match, not allowing much time for breath or selling for that matter. From what little I can tell, there was little to no facial acting/selling for either competitor. Looks like neither of them want to be there.
After a couple Botches/potatoes by kid, and how it looked like Kid was avoiding bumping for Sasuke, Sasuke had enough and lets him have it
Wow that’s a pretty good analysis
Everyone in tournament was a champion
When sasuke won he legit held 8 belts
Was called j8 crown I think
Potatoes? Eh…Japan is world-famous for its strong style. They literally kick the shit out of each other even today. But the selling part is sacrosanct.
The mask part was agreed to beforehand. BUT I guarantee it couldn't possibly have won him brownie points with Sasuke. And I do believe this event's stipulations included possibly losing your mask, so just tossing it off beforehand makes no sense in kayfabe. But again, it was technically agreed to.
Even the 2-3 minutes of uninterrupted offense by DBK in the beginning was agreed to. It's when DBK said eff that to Sasuke's planned comeback and no-sold his kicks that Sasuke threw a few potatoes of his own.
NONE of this is a shoot.... If it was, WHY is the Dirt Big Dude, adjusting his mask every other kick he takes?🤷🤷🤷
I think he shot on him at the end when he choked him because it was obvious that the dude did not know how to work.
It was...just not to the degree that some are waving their arms about. Sasuke threw a few measured potatoes and applied a legitimate submission, but yeah, he clearly was very much in control.
You’re an idiot if you think that lol the dude got a full on spinning back kick to the liver and you can see him feel it.
DBK got what he deserved, bottom line. He was taking spot after spot after spot putting himself over. He wanted to do one big spot after another. I learned early, you gotta respect the legends, unless they say otherwise, I always let them call the spots. I never went in thinking I am going to meat match this dude. You follow their lead, they will make you look good, I promise you this. Once I became an old wrestler, I always made the new guys look good, always putting them over. It's how it should work,
Whatever else happened later, DBK was not hogging high spot after high spot. Sasuke was cooperating until he went on offense and shortly thereafter things went south. In fact, he was so passive it was like was barely participating, and waiting on the turnbuckle or mat seemingly endless seconds for DBK to do his spot. They both come off badly in the first act, not just Kid.
So pretty much Sasuke did the exact same thing that Perry Saturn did. The different is Perry Saturn had a legitimate reason to be pissed off and Sasuke was just having a temper tantrum.
Who else is here from tiktok?
Your mom
Dirt bike kids pretty good
I've watched this over again a few times and I think Sasuke is a weirdo. He applies no offense until he starts ACTUALLY fighting. When he was hoisted up onto the ropes in the corner, he sat there with his arms at his side. It would have been a great time for a chop, or some form of offense. As for DBK not selling the actual kicks from Sasuke, he was probably unsure what was going on. It changed from match to shoot really fast and DBK did not even swing back, he allowed the choke to be locked in. In my opinion the behavior shown by Sasuke is disgusting.
I agree but it goes both ways, the kid went off script. He took off the mask when the setting specifically required him to wear a mask. He went into business for himself against the owner of the company. Yes sasuke was horribly unprofessional in his willingness to beat the shit out of the kid, but the kid shouldn't have gone out of his way to piss off his opponent to be fair
he went overboard on his offensive attacks and no-sold the move impacts instead of spacing them out and making it look painful…the mask was secondary, his actions with the moves and selling sent Sasuke overboard
DBK was just doing shit like he was in a video game or something 😂
