I use a similar method but use an abrasive disk on a mandrel in a Dremel tool. The disk is about 1.5" diameter. I sit straight in front of the blade and point the Dremel downward, in line with the blade, until the plane of the disk matches the angle on top of the tooth. The slightest touch of the disk to the tooth does the job. I don't worry about the side-to-side angle of the teeth. Works well.

I like the disc concept too. I’ll spend a bit more time with it and see if I get better results. Thanks for your suggestion!
