People keep calling Canto Bight space Las Vegas, but I just don't get that feel - I would say space Monte Carlo. Classier. Catering to the ultra rich, and not the rest of us. Las Vegas is aimed wider, and has a seedy version of "class" that Canto Bight just doesn't.
Yeah, space Monte Carlo is more accurate, both in clientele, visual aesthetic, and the names are similar.

The Cartman-Kennedy quote is all the rage now, but I say give it a chance. It seems that the only good Star Wars content left is in comics and video games, “survivor” was decent, hopefully this Aphra knock-off will measure up.

The comics especially the High Republic is the main plot in Jedi Survivor....so I don't think it will ever be ignored, just slowly integrated

A brief chance encounter, as you're going down the street, you see Temmin (his regular name) start loading some things onto a speeder, and catch some dialogue about how these repaired items should get him a few credits, and maybe he'd get enough to spend on improving Mr. Bones.
I love Kay’s 70’s style haircut! Perfect call back to that era when Star Wars just came out.
Her hair and style is great, but like with Jedi Survivor I hope we get some extensive character customization. I would also absolutely love blaster customization.

Sleero (or however it's going to be spelled) has the furry cloak on that reminds me of the "stand-in" Jabba that was cut from the original film before being digitally replaced in the special edition. That can't be a coincidence, right?

Season passes usually imply there will be an expansion or two within the first year after release. I’m so excited for this game!
They've already announced that the game will get at least two story DLC with new missions and explorable locations sometime after release.
If they add new planets after the release, that would be rad

For examples look at Assassin Creed Valhalla DLC. They usually aim for 2 or three "smaller maps" with a different episodic story

Game Informer’ cover story is up digitally and seems to say that Qui’ra is in the game. As for the season pass, I could easily see a dark droids expansion dropping in October

That's a good way of looking at it, sure some pars of this trailer don't look great but the whole space bank heist vibe this gives off overall is a good one to me at least.
Not when the game costs 90 dollars base game, but you don’t get one of the missions, you have to pay another 150$ WITHOUT tax. And with how much they’ve killed the franchise, and how bad every Star Wars thing with Disney has been. The only benefits I see from the last 10 years are clone wars season 7 (which should’ve been a gimme), the Star Wars Jedi games (which gave u all the parts of the story day 1), and the Mandalorian. I can’t look at the good things when the bad outweighs 100 to 1!
@Gigachadtv I can't disagree with your frustration. I personally have just long since given up on Disney's ability to make anything good out of Star Wars. So I have taken a "take what I can get" sort of attitude to Star Wars. If something looks worth checking out, I do, and if not, I'm pretty comfortable ignoring it. Ubisoft does occasionally make some great games rarely, mind you, and it's guaranteed to have the standard season pass with 2 campaign DLCs/weapon & armor pack sort of stuff. So that isn't shocking. Usually, Ubisoft games are fairly lengthy, so you get your money's worth, especially if you pick them up on sale. Outlaws is definitely a wait and see.

At the 2:08 mark you'll notice the star destroyer doesn't have shield generators. Either this is a new variant or it didn't render. That or it's just an oversight.
My brain says it's just a rendering error & that they didn't bother to add it. But my heart says that it's a new Star Destroyer variant that's more of an up-armored Imperial-I class (Basically a Tector class) that acts as a close-range brawler.
I’m extremely disappointed that I was so focused on seeing if it was an Imperial I or II, that I looked solely at the observation deck and missed the lack of shield generators. ty for pointing this out lol

I think Star Wars Inlaws would be more interesting... Poe takes Finn to meet his parents, both ex rebel fighter pilots. The usual meeting 'fish out of water' shenanigans occur until Shera, Poes stranged ex first order sister knocks on the door!

Ubisoft usually releases story expansion DLC, so i wouldn't be surprised if that's the case regarding the Outlaws season pass.

When you click on the link to pre-order, the website says that the season pass includes two DLC story events. Idk if I'll preorder but I'm super excited to see what this game is like
when it's released.
The game looks cool but I can’t imagine spending $110 dollars just to get the full story. You can buy the regular game for $70 (which is still way too much money) but if you buy it at the regular price you’re basically just excluding parts of the story that have already been written but were then hidden behind an extra paywall.
I normally like to buy games right when they come out so I don’t have the story spoiled but this might be one where I have to wait a few years for it to go on sale to a reasonable price.
Maybe more like few months rather than years. Survivor has already had some pretty good discounts (>50%)

But it’ll also take even longer for the extra story content to be available to buy without a season pass and then even longer after that for it to go on sale. So it’ll be a really long time before most people can play the entire game without going broke.
If nothing else, it's so cool to have a game that connects to the War of the Bounty Hunters. (Yay for Qira!!)

Q&A: With all these different criminals and organizations popping up interactible with in this game, what do you think our chances are of bumping into and/or teaming up with Hondo?
having played a few Ubisoft games, I would say the DLC would be story as they had done so many times in the past. With that day, I am curious how the reputation stuff works out in the game. In the Division franchise, helping one friendly fraction usually means upgrade for them and players upgrade as well so I wonder if that would be something like that for this game.
I hope we get to see more crime syndicate planets like Oba Diah or Nal Hutta.
I'd like to be hyped, but, Ubisoft hasn't exactly been... _Ethically upstanding_ in how they treat their workers.

Maybe a decoy of Qi'ra? "This one's a decoy!" I liked the trailer. In fact, here are my recent Star Wars trailer rankings: Tales of the Empire > Star Wars Outlaws > The Acolyte. Too bad this is just a game. It would have been great as a series: giving us more of what we thought we were getting with The Book of Boba Fett. Oh well. We'll have to play the game.

In some open world games like this DLC post release can be much more than just cosmetics. Some add new storylines, factions, and even large new areas. Typically Ubisoft offers fairly substantial DLC for their open world titles.

I am very cautiously optimistic about this game, knowing how Ubisoft and the gaming industry are.
Some people are already saying to not pre-order the game, and that's just a sign of the times. I seriously hope the plot, gameplay, and characters make it so that this game does well.
Looks okay.. think I'd be more excited if you could play as Cad Bane or Fennec Shand or any bounty hunter we already know.

I'm actually interested how this game will play. I love the era after empire before jedi. I'm curious to see the perspective of someone outside the rebellion and the empire. What I'm leary about is ubisoft. Will it be farcry in space?

I’m a little torn on the game - the price is pretty high (and I don’t know what’s the deal with Ubisoft but I’m gonna find out cause it seems to be a very big deal), but I do love Kay, Nyx, the characters the environment, and the overall vibe the game. I hope we get some tie in comics or novels (though I hope it’s not like required reading or replacement for story content).

0:56 I am really hoping Outlaws is going to respect the continuity. Thus far it appears it will. If this combines with good gameplay and a good story, this game will officially be awesome, hopefully in the same way that Jedi Fallen Order was.
A more personal thing for me is whether or not this game will take a proper stance on the Empire. Can we really support or play as a neutral rogue or will we be forced to oppose it in some shape or form. Ham-fisting the Empire, and particular plain old 'Empire bad' stuff has become pretty common in SW stories sadly, for example with Solo, where Crimson Dawn's implied closeness with the Empire (at least, according to the Cloud Riders) is just unnecessary if anything.
But if the story is good and they can work in the anti-Imperial message without making everything weird a la Andor, I think we'll be in for a great game.

i seriously regret playing fallen order at release and not waiting for patches to fix the issues. i will practice patience on this one, there are too many good games to play that are properly optimized.

i have no plans to buy this game of two main reason, first its a Ubisoft game the second its not on Steam
My one hope with the story of the game is that it can get me interested in the characters but also whatever the crew is going to be for this heist. Heist movies are so good when you can care about the people who commit to the heist especially when you factor in that we've seen heists go wrong, heists that go right but there's a twist to them and then you start to care more for the after affects. So far the thing that interests me the most about the game is the worlds we could be going to, exploring the underworld and how all of this plays into the world of which is still under the rule of the Empire. The dialouge and bits of the story come off as a bit generic so far so I am hoping all that other stuff pulls me in, including the gameplay.
Who is running Crimson Dawn these days?
I might be wrong because I haven’t read all the comics but as far as I know I don’t think Qi’ra has been killed yet, so she might still be running it up to this point
Qi'ra runs Crimson Dawn from before Rebels up through its dissolution prior to RotJ.
Story-wise, I'm intrigued, buy graphics-wise....it's looking very unpolished still, especially for a 2024 next-gen title. Maybe I've just been spoiled by Naughty Dog, but the character models and facial animations are looking kinda rough. Will reserve final judgement until the title is released and we see some in-hand reviews from the bigger gaming sites. Those scores will determine if I pick this up at full price, or wait for a price drop.
