Gary Martin is a great addition to the channel any time. I really enjoy the banter between you two. It always makes for a good, fun day seeing you two on the course together. I think we need an 18 hole stroke play match with you and Gary Martin!
Nice brother just got a set of new cobra single length irons for 100 bucks from a coworker and immediately was hitting bombs on the range. How has the PXG been working for ya?
Got my Cobra Radspeed XB driver, 10.5 deg, with a 4F2 shaft and it bombs. Set it at 9 deg now. Got fitted at Gray’s Golf in East Sussex and cost £300 new back about 2 years ago.
I recently went to Turkey to buy an empreinte multi pochette. They showed me a pack of kislux and it looked exactly like this. The texture was no different, the color and appearance was the same, I think I will enjoy buying here in the future.
I was fortunate enough to score a brand new M1 for $210 at a charity auction in 2017. An absolute steal! Love the club despite its stiff shaft which isn’t the ideal fit for me anymore with my advancing age. Moved on to a G430 last year, and it has been a great stick. I still have the M1 and may have to revisit it for round or two this season.
Great way of testing a value for money driver while still keeping the competition up. Good fun between two good mates, you have to love Gary, he takes some stick from you James....Well done again on a great video.
Had been playing a TM R1 driver for the past two seasons that I picked up used. Just upgraded to the M2 2016 edition this fall, spend 180 CAD on it. Should be able to sell the R1 for about 150. Can't beat that.
OMG! You need to absolutely keep it! Whether it's true or not, this is special to you. People create packages, packages do not create people. Rock it girl, salute kislux !
I was fitted for a Callaway paradym last year, waited for the season end demo sale, saved35%, love it, I sell my clubs on Facebook so the upgrade isn’t too expensive. Hard to sell clubs which aren’t the top brands ie Wilson and Tour Edge
Might be worth mentioning that the 2017 M1 was available in both 440cc and 460cc sizes. The one you were using looked like the 460 cc version. (BTW - I happen to have both - the larger one is a fairway finder while the smaller version gives a slightly more solid hit and a few more yards).
I've been playing with a Taylormade R9 that I found at a thrift store about five years ago. I think I spent just over $10 on it. When I'm focused (ADHD is a PITA on the golf course), I hold up well against many of the newest drivers on the market over the past few years. I've gotten plenty of golf rounds for the several hundred dollars I've saved on just a driver.
Had the Radspeed irons in the bag since they came out, but budget wouldn't stretch to the woods, so kept with the Cobra XL Baffler woods. Just got a Radspeed driver for £150 and only tried it on the range, numbers are the same as the XL at the moment.
I'm using basically that one, but the 2016 version with the black and red color scheme. Love it, no plans to change. $150 3 years ago, they go for similar money today if you can believe it.
Picked me up a brand new Srixon ZX5 Driver with Project X Evenflow Ripetide stiff shaft last July for $189 dollars from Carls Golfland. Been a fairway finder for sure. Have a TM SIM Max 2 10.5 with Stiff Velcore and it goes 10 to 20 yards further but also finds the rough and trees a lot more. Srixon ZX 5 is in the bag and gonna be selling the TM.
Just bought my “new” driver for this season. R7 425 TP. A driver I wanted for nearly 20 years. Paid $20 US. I have learned to repair clubs, customize, new grip etc. I cut half inch off. Added new jumbo grip and the extra gram in the butt end. Added 4 grams of extra weight with the weight screws to the back for more forgiveness in this monster launching driver. It looks brand new after a hour or so work. 20 vs 600 plus? No brainer
You asked what I am hitting for a driver and I am going to give you some credit on this. I went and hit drivers with the epic speed being the best for me and a Mitsubishi shaft working the best. I found the head and shaft on the Callaway golf preowned site “used” for hundreds less than the pro shop.
I have this same driver in 440CC and a Stealth Plus that I picked up this year. M1 was a bit high on the spin and can produce some floaters that drop out of the sky. About a 20 yard difference between the 2017 M1 and Stealth Plus for me. I won’t get rid of the M1 though as I may need it if the face pops off my Stealth 😂
Had the 2017 M1. Added a 16g 'fitting' weight and a Hand Crafted HZRDUS yellow shaft. Thing was a bomber. At the time was hitting about 260. This combo generated about half a dozen 300+ yard drives. Worked great until the shaft snapped at the ferrule.
I've watched enough of these driver video's by different influencers to realize it's not the driver it's the person swinging the club. If you are driving the ball 300 yards you will most likely drive 300 yard no matter what driver is in your hands. Players on tour change golf companies and therefore use different clubs their game is still the same. Bryson just changed from Cobra do you think his drives will suffer or be helped? They will still go like they always do, long.
The biggest difference in driver tech is the forgiveness. Yes you will probably gain yards but the forgiveness is the biggest gain. I’m still rocking my R11 from 2011 and I’m definitely losing out on yards, but even more so on forgiveness compared to today’s drivers. Distance isn’t a problem for me anywhere but when I can I’ll be upgrading for forgiveness. The extra distance will just be a bonus
By far, the best deal I have seen on big drivers this year has been the closeout prices online for brand new Callaway Mavrick drivers. My chosen specs, $189 (US$) shipped to NY for a club that was $539.99 just a few years ago is insane. Price isn't everything... In all testing we did at KeyPutt, I hit the Mavrick, the furthest, straightest and accurate of any of the other clubs we tested. It's in the bag.
I'm a big proponent of hitting the second hand market and finding some diamonds in the rough. To that point, I picked up a Taylormade R9 460 driver in near-showroom condition for $50 off of Ebay a few months ago, and it has been stunning. I only went and hit my first ever 300 yard drive with it soon after adding it to the bag! Golf can be financially accessible; it just requires a bit of research and homework.
Almost my entire golf kit is second-hand (the few clubs I bought new were clearinghouse specials). I was looking, out of curiosity, at new drivers on the market...the most premium drivers cost almost as much as I spend on green fees for an entire year. But when I go play with guys who've been fitted for their brand new clubs, I still hold my own. The big flaws in my game are not going to be helped by new clubs, they're mostly mental lapses.
@@hoganfan2006 No worries about clones from trusted sources. Actually have a couple of offerings from Diamond Tour Golf (longtime clone/component vendor) in my bag that work like a charm. Counterfeits are another story entirely. I wouldn't touch those.
I trade clubs a lot - often driver looking for something to "fix" my driving problems. The one constant over the past few seasons has been the 2021 PXG 0211. I bought it when they dropped the price to $199 when the 2022 model came out. I don't hit it as far as a lot of the other clubs I tried, but it consistently stays in play. But that doesn't stop me from continuing to buy and trade used drivers. In my opinion anything from the past 7 or 8 years has pretty much the same capability unless you are really nowhere close to the middle of the face of the club. A $150 driver and maybe 1 or 2 lessons and you'll still have less money in it than one of the new $600 offerings.
I got fitted for a driver 2 years ago, still struggled with it. I found a $10 Callaway at a garage sale and I mash that thing, straight as can be. It’ll be in my bag until one of us disintegrates
I just got a new 9-degree Ping G425. Didn't get fitted. Did upgraded the shaft to an OEM Fujikura Ventus Blue. Hit it great today. Did cut the shaft down 1/2 an inch and, in Peter Finch style, I put a Jumbomax medium wrap grip on it
I remember one thing that made sense way back in the 1990's when driver heads first start having moving/changeable weights, I believe it was the guy from Adams golf that said grip pressure had a lot to do with how much effect those weights in the driver head have. He was right that the guy/gal that had a very tight grip would just about make those weights ineffective, that a more gentle grip would allow them to do something and maybe help.
I've had designer pieces and knockoffs of kislux . I ultimately prefer the knockoffs because I'm not worried about scratching it, preserving it, or someone stealing it.
Cobra speedzone 9°head set at 8° and switched the shaft for a dianama whiteboard 90 tx flex total cost 180 with the shaft being 80 of it. By far, the longest driver I've ever had and most confident when it's in my hands.
My uncle gave me his m1 in 2021 and i loved it. i just purchased a brand new one on ebay (head only) for $180. I don’t mind playing it for another three years or so and once 2027 comes around and the M1 is 10 years old i’ll probably look for something still. rand new that came out in 2023 or 2024. it’s a great way to save money and still get to play “new” drivers
Game the G430 Max, fitted last spring for it. Paid full retail $549 USD (I believe it was). I was able to sell my G425 Max which I gamed for 2 1/2 seasons and nearly got what I had paid for it upon selling. So it helped offset the G430 cost.
I’m playing an eight-year-old cobra king F9 driver 12°. I recently bought a tailor-made stealth 2+ and it’s gone straight back up on Facebook marketplace, the cobra king kicks its arse every time.
Slowly but surely you come round to the understanding that the lump on the thin end of the stick isnt really the problem , its the lump on the thick end . I game a 2016 m2 with a 53 grm bassara stiff flex , probably £170 total , shaft bought new-old stock and original m2 from a bloke who hit it for a year and moved on . Its a genuine weapon , sounds amazing and looks awesome 👍
I went on vacation to visit my cousin. I didn't bring my clubs. He lent me his kids clubs and the M1 was in the bag. 10.5, stiff, I don't recall what the set up was. I was crushing it.
Went into upgrade my Sim driver shaft and ended up purchasing an TMP2 driver with a shaft that worked for me at golf galaxy for a $180, like new! Same drivers are going for $250 - $350 on eBay.
Playing a Ping G400 with a HZRDUS RDX Blue. Outside of my putter and wedges, all of the clubs in my bag are at least a few years old. No need to upgrade clubs when you’re comfortable with the setup.
I have the Ping G425. Got it brand new and fitted. The fitter did NOT do a good job with the shaft as I believe they just ordered it with the standard Xstiff shaft and I need something with a lower torque number. Going to have to purchase my a new shaft this year to fix the issue.
I bought the M1 for about $100, after something was rattling in my Taylormade Jetspeed. I had also bought a Callaway X-Hot driver head, added a blue graffaloy shaft, and oversized grip. I left the shaft at 47”. I paid about $100 for this as well. I liked he M1 for all the adjustments, and I am partial to Taylormade. I hit the Callaway a good bit farther and was pretty straight with both of them. Both were like new, maybe demo clubs at most. I sold the M1 for $125. I will be selling the old Jetspeed for about $50. Nice to have a better driver, like new for $25. The used market it where it’s at.
I'm using the Taylor Made M2 which I purchased 2 years ago for $A429. I'm not sure it's a lot longer than my old Burner TP but being adjustable I can set my loft to suit the weather conditions.
I picked up the new Qi 10 standard head not LS or MAX and it absolutely rocks... I had that 2017 M1 version and it was pretty darn good the best club out of that bunch was the 3 wood it was crazy long! If you have the cash the Qi stuff is legit!
I purchased the Conra Radspeed Driver 10.5 degree last November and it was a good driver for about 4 months until one day I hit a drive and felt something pop inside the head. After that I could not hit a drive more then 120 yards. To see if it was me or the driver I would hit back to back drives with my friends Sim2 Max and there was a 70-90 yard distance gap. Traded the Cobra in for a Ping G425bMax and couldn't be happier. The Ping driver is like Magic, just yesterday I hit 4 of the longest, straightest drives of my life. The Cobra is good, but I think you get what you pay for.
I have that version of that driver and the previous model. I loved them but I am now using the PXG 0311 gen 5 or Titleist Tsi2. I tend to go back and forth.
Funny a Nuff I got the stealth 2 ex display new for 250 was down the driving range cracked the side of my driver and taylormade upgrade me to the new IQ10 as a replacement had a right touch amazing driver now driving 300 yds 😅
Just got fitted my first time for driver, I did splurge a bit on myself with a QI10 with a hazardous shaft and totally stoked to start using it this season!
I have a driver from 1999... I tested a driver at golf galaxy... The tech has definitely caught up with my swing... I didn't slice once... But... I hooked the shot out of the ball... Just need to go back 10 years when my swing will actually send the ball straight.
I'm using a Titleist 910 D2 I picked up for £30 second hand 6 years ago. Thought it was a bargain at the time, but the fact it's still going strong makes me think it's the best value club I've ever purchased
You can sometimes find great deals for used clubs anywhere. I got my self a Callaway Epic Speed driver head (I already had the shaft) for 180 CAD (106 quid). And it was actually new.
I've never been fitted. I game a 2021 Cobra Radspeed XB driver. I absolutely love my driver when I am hitting it well. I find i don't hit it as well when I am striking my irons well. I do love the adjustability of the M1. I wonder if a club like that could help me hit my driver better even when I am on it with my irons
I have just bought myself a tour only issue TaylorMade stealth 8* driver head(actual loft 8.5) with a 60* lie angle as standard(as that’s what I used before) brand new from the UK for £251 shipped to OZ and that will go into a LA golf ozik black tie 60 gram stiff shaft,I can’t wait to use it on the course
I do miss my M1. I used to crush that thing. I upgraded to a sim. It was trash. Now I'm swinging the Cobra Ltdx ls. Though I hit it well. It isn't better than my M1. It is about the same.
I played the M1, M3, M5, then an M6, a Sim2 Max, the Stealth and then Stealth 2 Plus. My Haywood 1 is still in my bag, but I still enjoy trying TaylorMade drivers for fun. I have $180 credit at Global Golf. Maybe I should see if they have a lefty M1. I have a few shafts with TaylorMade adapters.
the trouble with that range of TM drivers is that they generally have unsightly roof marks in the white paint. Trying to find a good condition one is v difficult.
Currently playing the Callaway Maverick. I paid nothing for it Callaway replaced it for me when my Epic GBB started coming apart on the bottom. Paid 150 for the Epic GBB used.
I bought myself a stealth 1 driver just before christmas off of fb marketplace for 225 Canadian, which is about 131 Pounds. Not even 2 hours ago I was at the simulator and managed to reach 300 yards for the first time! Starting year 2 off pretty strong
2021 clubs can't possibly be much less advanced than current ones.. I have a Cobra King F6 and Cobra F max superlite I got for about the same price and I absolutely love them.
In early August I bought a TM SIM 2 Max which was discounted at $299. Struggled with it so I "borrowed" my grandson's TM R7 SuperQuad which I have hit on a few occasions. I put it in my bag and I've been hitting it great. How is that possible? I'm 72, the SIM 2 is regular shaft and the R7 is stiff.
Love Gary on your show. Just bought my wife a M3 for 175c$, we haven’t played with it yet because we still have snow on the ground, but do you like the M2 better than the M3
Manufacturers began approaching the limits of tech improvements a few years ago. I play an original 2018 Callaway Rogue. I'm frequently tempted by the new drivers, but I've yet to find one that outperforms my Rogue.
@@gdeezy I suppose I would clarify my comment by saying that in my informal testing, the performance advances are not significant enough to offset the cost of the new driver. So, its fair to say its a function of how prepared you are to spend the money. For a pga tour professional, any performance improvement is worth that cost, but it is not for me.
Playing Sim 2 Max, paid 300 last year brand new, can be bought new now for 249. Excellent value for money. Does scratch quite easily though Bought it over the stealth due to the issues with reliability
Okay, I have been waiting for the Takomo copper color irons. Can’t find any info on them. Do you know if they are going to sell them? I have Takomo snow and would love the copper ones. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU KNOW!!!
I got a Taylormade Sim 1 driver 2nd hand from a mate who got fitted then started blaming the driver's shaft for him skying balls... nothing to do with his swing... 😂 Last year for my birthday I got fitted for all new clubs. I was fitted for the Ping 425 but when I tried it, I was getting far better strikes with the Sim 1. So I kept the Sim 1 and upgraded the shaft to an extra stiff
I just started playing Golf this past year... I picked up a used set of p790 irons.. I wanted a Stealth 2 Driver but last year they were still around $500-$700 US where I'm at in Texas... So I was researching and decided to pick up a 2016 M1 Driver. I absolutely love my Driver. I am just now learning and new to to it all. But I am so glad I chose this Driver to learn with.. I got mine for $140ish U.S.Dollars, it is like new and beautiful. Really completes my set and I have really grown to love it.. I don't think I'll be looking to buy that Stealth2 anytime soon. No need at my level.
That's a good driver. Bought my 2017 version M2 driver new when it first came out and still use it now. There's been a lot of new drivers since then by TM and other brands and tested a few at my local range but with no significant improvements I don't see the point of buying anything newer, I think driver technology has been very nearly maxed out even back then.
I got a cobra speed Zone on golf clubs for cash 2 years ago, cost me £180 in mint condition, even the head cover was tight to get on 😅 still in my bag now.

Playing the PXG 0211. Got it on one of their specials, and with my military discount, for $110.00. Best deal ever.

You two should to be on stage. Great content and always puts a smile on my face when you get together.
Game the G430 Max, fitted last spring for it. Paid full retail $549 USD (I believe it was). I was able to sell my G425 Max which I gamed for 2 1/2 seasons and nearly got what I had paid for it upon selling. So it helped offset the G430 cost.
I tried the G430 max and performance wise wasn’t that different to the G425 max! I bought a new 425 for £300.
I’m playing an eight-year-old cobra king F9 driver 12°. I recently bought a tailor-made stealth 2+ and it’s gone straight back up on Facebook marketplace, the cobra king kicks its arse every time.
PXG last years Gen 5, $189 on sale great club, super forgiving
From the packaging to the details of the bags, I think the kislux shop has made reproduction an art form.
I just retired my Nike Vaporfly pro for the Cleveland Launcher XL2 and LOVE it!!! It was an instant game improvement!!!
I got a M1 2016 edition, and i really like it. Got it for 50 quid, together with a 3 wood, a bag and a nice ping putter :D
I have a G430 Max in the bag. I got fitted for it and I love it. I got it new and added about 10yards.
No need to upgrade clubs when you’re comfortable with the setup.
i just tried out the new QI 10 and the M1 the Qi 10 was a little longer but not enough to justify the price !
😂freaking loved this video!!
"Thats disgusting. That's a disgrace shot" 😂 Had me in tears!!
Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Max D. I got fitted last month. I've had it for about 2 weeks.
Gary Martin is great.
Just got fitted my first time for driver, I did splurge a bit on myself with a QI10 with a hazardous shaft and totally stoked to start using it this season!
How you like that? Im on the ropes about what driver to get
@@michaelrandold4656 I’m very happy with it, it performs well and I just love the sound it makes off the carbon face.
Managed to bag a brand new warranty replacement g410 plus for 140 a few weeks back. Very happy with that vs the new pricing on drivers!
Still have my M1, bought in 2018, where I was very fortunate to buy at $300, and it still sings.
I have 2017 M1 in all three lofts, both 3w lofts and a 5w.
It is a damn good value today!
Bought the M6 in 2019 for about 300 usd. Came with hzrdus smoke black shaft 6.0 60g. Low spin low trajectory. Haven't changed since.
HEY kislux !! I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
I bought myself a stealth 1 driver just before christmas off of fb marketplace for 225 Canadian, which is about 131 Pounds. Not even 2 hours ago I was at the simulator and managed to reach 300 yards for the first time! Starting year 2 off pretty strong
In early 2022 I got a like new RadSpeed XB demo head for $170 and a unused pulled Tensei blue shaft for $32 from Global Golf.
Love the banter between you guy’s and I would like to see you put the M1 up against the QI10
2021 clubs can't possibly be much less advanced than current ones.. I have a Cobra King F6 and Cobra F max superlite I got for about the same price and I absolutely love them.
I had the M1 440 2017 9.5 with Hzrdus Yellow x-stiff. It was a forgiving beast.
kislux I love you so much and watching your videos makes my day brighter
I picked up a Callaway Rogue ST Max D for $200usd at the end of last year to replace my hand-me-down 10 year old RBZ. I love it so far.
I went from a used M1 to a year old Sim max 2. Still was 350 dollars at the time but am still using it and hit pretty well
Love Gary on your show. Just bought my wife a M3 for 175c$, we haven’t played with it yet because we still have snow on the ground, but do you like the M2 better than the M3
Still using my m2 right now sweet driver
Manufacturers began approaching the limits of tech improvements a few years ago. I play an original 2018 Callaway Rogue. I'm frequently tempted by the new drivers, but I've yet to find one that outperforms my Rogue.
There's any number of drivers that will out perform the 18 Rogue.
Still using my Tm R11 from 2011. I need to upgrade. Not because of distance, I have plenty of that. I’m missing out of added forgiveness
Playing Sim 2 Max, paid 300 last year brand new, can be bought new now for 249. Excellent value for money. Does scratch quite easily though
Bought it over the stealth due to the issues with reliability
I wish we had that second hand golf shop like you guys have.. nothing here in Canada Ontario!
Global golf or Golf Avenue. Callaway preowned
Sim 2 max, extra stiff shaft, fitted. 10.5 head wound down to 9.5. Super forgiving, but my slice hits have no bearing on Taylormades manufacturing!
Last year for my birthday I got fitted for all new clubs.
I broke my M5 face and had to use my M1... it's a beast, and I love it
I got a cobra speed Zone on golf clubs for cash 2 years ago, cost me £180 in mint condition, even the head cover was tight to get on 😅 still in my bag now.
My Hollow body clubs are Forged ,King Cobra Forged Tech ,and TAKOMO 101’s long and great Feel !
