Hey if their schedule has such easy teams, how come other SEC teams lost to them? Alabama lost to Vanderbilt Ole Miss lost to Kentucky Tennessee lost to Arkansas
The issue is not with Texas it is with how College Football ranks their teams. Texas schedule looked tough at the start of the season and having been in the CFP the previous year that propelled them into a high ranking early in the year. When we compare that to Indiana who is undefeated but who also have yet to play a ranked opponent they are ranked lower and if they lose to Ohio State on Saturday will likely drop dramatically in the polls. In short Texas is where it is because they won a pre-season popularity contest and sadly I think a 10-2 Texas team has a better shot of making the College Football Playoff than a 11-1 Indiana. Another issue is when you look at the SEC Championship Game you realize the team coming in second in the SEC will likely be out of the College Football playoff while the teams finishing 3rd, 4th, 5th and maybe 6th are likely in.
It isn’t Texas fault the ranked teams they played fell off. Going on the road to the defending national champion house. Playing 3 rivalry games with 2 of those on the road. I can go on and on. In a way, our schedule isn’t really weak. Vanderbilt beat bama and Texas went on the road to beat them. That game was no where near close, they got a garbage time touchdown. Texas went on the road to beat their rival Arkansas. That same Arkansas team beat Tennessee in their house. Texas never trailed against them and in a way, they didn’t truly struggle. The Mississippi state game, never trailed and plus they didn’t have Quinn that game. That same Mississippi state team put 31 points up on Georgia. Florida game. Never struggled. They also almost beat Georgia and they beat LSU. Kentucky is Texas next opponent. They were 1 point away from beating Georgia and they went on the road to beat ole miss. A&M is doing better than expected. Yes, I know they lost to Georgia, but Quinn wasn’t 100% healthy. We all know that. Plus if it wasn’t for the punter putting Georgia in our territory every single time, that score probably would had been closer. Oh the funniest thing ever, Texas doesn’t schedule an FCS opponent to start the season or in November like all the other sec teams do. And almost all the teams in the sec, play at least one common game that Texas has. Texas blows out the common opponents while the others struggle. Yall wanna complain so bad about their schedule, blame the sec for giving them that schedule cus no one knew how good or bad these teams were going to be. All Texas has to do is win out and be in the sec title game. Win or lose that one, they will be in the playoffs either the conference champion or as a two loss team. Everyone was saying “Texas isn’t going to be able to handle an sec schedule” “there’s no easy teams in the sec” “Texas is going to want to run back to the big 12” etc… yet they are 5-1 and can potentially play in the sec title game in their first year. So tell me, which is it, is Texas schedule easy? Or is the sec not as hard as it seems?
I’m sorry, but the Vandy game was not a nail biter. Vandy made it close in garbage time and Texas took their foot off the gas. Texas will beat A&M and whoever they play for the champion.
Boom Texas had one bad quarter all season, the second quarter against Ga. The Vandy and Arkansas games were not close when looking at the entirety of the games. Vandy only stayed in it because of costly turnovers deep in Texas territory and a pick-6 called back.
This is a moot point. If Texas beats A&M, they will have a ranked win and play for the SEC championship. Whether they win the SEC or not, they’re in the playoffs. If they lose to A&M, then they lost to the only two good teams they played and they’ll be out of the playoffs.
They absolutely deserve to be in the Playoffs they're a really good football team and only lost to UGA and beat everyone on their schedule easy or not and finally if Texas playing to their full potential they're a Top 5 team in the country no question
Not really when your key wins are a 3point win over Vandy and a 10 point win over Arkansas both unranked then you are not a playoff worthy team. If Texas wants to be playoff worthy schedule better opponents that are actually really good.
@@SeaSpray90Their schedule isn’t their fault, even the non-conference isn’t. Michigan were supposed to be good. Also, if Texas beats A&M, there’s no way they’re not a top 3 team in the country. Even if they lose the SEC championship I think they should still get in.
@@SeaSpray90 lol since we are talking about vandy and Arkansas. Texas beat them both and will beat Kentucky this weekend. Meaning the three nobodies they have beat will have beat one of each of the power teams you have ahead of them outside of Georgia. Vandy beat bama, Arkansas beat Tenessee, and Kentucky beat Ole Miss. Your argument is flawed and meaningless. As far as I am concerned they have the best resume in the sec besides Georgia because they have beaten teams that the other power teams couldn't.
Texas might deserve the CFP, but if that's the case and the Horns are that high, they need to bump up Georgia. They are NOT considering strength of schedule at all like they should or claim to be.
The sec is an embarrassment. How can you hoop and holler that Texas and our could never survive any sec schedule and when they come in and the sec blows, it’s Texas’ fault. Maybe the sec isn’t nearly as elite as they’ve been claiming it is, or maybe Texas has just avoided the sec upsets this year
Yeah every team Texas beats that was deemed "geat" starts loosing after they loose to Texas ...All of a sudden "texas hasn't beatin anyone" crap.. I remember This never happened with Bama! 😅😂😅😂😅😂😅

Alabama lost to Vanderbilt
Ole Miss lost to Kentucky
Tennessee lost to Arkansas
Maybe those top teams are just overrated
I feel like putting money on Texas A&M
Texas barely escaped mid to low tier sec teams and the one top tier team they've played they lost. I hope A&M embarrasses Texas

Cfb: let’s make 16/18 team conferences and make them schedule 8 conference opponents 😮
Most conferences play 9 games in conference. sEC only plays 8
I thought this schedule was supposed to be a reality check
