I understand apologetics as of today. You may not think it, but you are a Green Beret, Special Forces of teaching the apologetics and the Bible. I have so much to learn, and your gift of reading scripture, showing how one belief can be found in multiple books of the Bible, teaching in such a way, I not only understand, but am excited to learn God by knowing and understanding his word which can only be from the Bible. One of your sermons you said, “ you want the answer, read your Bible.” Thank you. I am grateful to have you as my teacher who has helped so much in knowing the father, son, and spirit. I listen - generally - to a sermon each morning on my run. Lately I have been struggling to stay motivated. I'm not sure why. Today, after church, I'm on my third Voddie sermon. I can't get enough. God do your work through this man!
Feeling distance from God is painful. The best I can say is to have a very regular and vibrant prayer life. Be obedient towards God's word and work out long term studies on a topic along with regular bible reading. So, I am answering this 4 months after the original post. How are you holding up? EDIT: it's also important to let church members know so they can pray for you. Also, schedule to talk to your pastor about it.
I agree with William Cornelius. I will add that I think more people should look to the rewards of observation. Read scripture over, and over, and over, and over, Without first consulting commentary. For example, I am currently reading 1Peter. I have read chapter 1 multiple times each day (usually in one sitting). And I take notes on what I observed, including questions I have. What does it mean to be an elect exhile? Peter mentions the prophets that prophesied about grace; this reminds me of scripture in genesis where grace preceded the law. It is important not so much to answer the questions but meditate on the words of scripture. Don't move on to a new chapter until you have saturated the first with your thoughts and observations. You will be impressed by what you missed the first few times and what God reveals to you through this. When completed read commentaries, look up words in a concordance. You will search the scriptures as if mining for gold. BTW, a good book on this is Howard Hendricks 'Living by the Book.' Devouring scripture will change your walk, and its sooooooooooo easy.
Our Fathers works are always greater than our understanding. He always meets us right where we are. I just came out of that same struggle, and God in all His glory, used that trial to teach me complete dependency on Him and scripture. I need Jesus more than I need my next breath

Why then such great disparity in doctrine?? I am fluent in Spanish, and fairly well conversant in Greman. Being fairly familiar with language and its use, i began to clearly observe that there is absolutely no perfect translation of scriptures. Words dont usually mean exactly the same in one language as in another. What then?? Holy Spirit? Yes. In part, but we also need to learn that parcing words of a particular translation is a useless practice. It is ultimately a translation. To further complicate matters, even our own language is not universal among ourselves. The words we use mean things to us individually separate from the understanding of the reciever. If you dont believe me, ask yourself why your wife was so darn mad at you. And without reason at THAT. To rectify this problem, we need the mind of the writers of scripture. We need to grasp the intent of the earthly author, realizing that this intent is inspired by the divine. The Holy Spirit. How do we understant that? Sola Scriptura cant answer it. But the disciples of the writers definitely can do so and they did it. We need the understanding of the writers of scripture. Not merely the words left behind on pages of papyrus.

It simply means that we presuppose the biblical worldview. We would stand on the authority of scripture on all matters, and so we presuppose Gods authority over all matters in all ways at all times.
@@ServantofGOD__ but isn't that what it means to Christian? That we believe the Bible? That seems redundant. I mean, what other option would there be for a Christian? I'm confused.
@@sbag11 Yes, however if you’ve learned a bit about apologetics like classical, then you begin to understand why presuppositional apologetics makes complete sense. Classical generally meets the opposing position at their level and worldview to help prove our faith. Presuppositional apologetics uses the Bible as Gods authority to begin with and end with. Both work well... the latter has been most effective in my personal evangelical journey.
@@sbag11 everything is presuppositional due to law of excluded middle. It’s a Trojan horse tactic by aetheist to get you to present your case from their presupposition of alternate Gods no Gods science as God platform while denying you the chance to host them on the Christian platform.
@@ServantofGOD__ The nature of reality is that God is first and last so classic apologetics is sexy and fun for intellectuals but at best it infers theism/God in all its forms: Kalam, fine tuning, moral law etc. whereas presuppositional dictates God, Christ, and Scripture as truth and saving power so it would be closer to the truth and fulfilling because God comes first in this arena. Classic piques interest where pre becomes more serious for the individual because it has implications and convictions at the individual level. Some have converted by the help of classic but I would say pre is more impactful at ground level. Holy Spirit is not limited by arena, however no one can come to saving knowledge w out Christ.
1Corinthians 2: 1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

As an Atheist I really enjoy listening to the same person to give speeches to see how their stories and jokes change. Though I find the gospels utterly unconvincing that Jesus was any kind of miracle worker. But, this man is a very talented presenter. Planting one church after another is a great way to earn some cash.
I appreciate the fact that you, as an atheist, would even bother to listen! When I was a non believer, I could care less what so called Christians had to say! You will find that the secular world is BORING compared to the world of God and reformed theology. Keep in mind that 95% of T.V. preachers are counterfeit! Victoria Koerber, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Theology is entertainment to me but I truly care for the believers. I have finally come to the realization that religion is a game. Victoria Koerber, it popped up in the recommended videos. I initially heard of him on the Paulogia channel. Vodie, who sounds a lot like Neil deGrasse Tyson, was chosen to narrate “Genesis Paradise Lost” film.

As a speaker, his topic was “The World, the flesh, and the devil”. Voddie and I have(had) the same mentor. R.C.Sproul(former president of Ligonier died 2017). If you want to learn theology, there is no better place!
To bring people to the bible I start with The Book of Enoch. 9/10 times people say, "Wow, I've never heard Christianity outlined in that way, it's always boring sermons." It tells a concise story and it's impossible to fully understand the world view without Enoch.
Calvinism is a curse to the name "Christian" in almost every denomination today and getting worse! "WE" are to put our "OUR" trust and "OUR" faith in Jesus and we will be saved. God created us in His image with the dignity and respect to "ALLOW" us to have a brain in our heads that can think and make choices. The first thing a Calvinist does is flush that dignity down the toilet and replace it with clever buzz words and tons of pride and deceit. Truth in Love

@@MrPanchoak thanks you so much for your response! I am quite busy at the moment, but I greatly look forward to reading you perspective on the issue. As Christians, we should be able to disagree on things like that and still be able to come to the foot of the the cross together!

Hey brother, I am quite drawn to your discourse and I would like to hear more if you could indulge me.
lol it could happen. Man I’d act that way, I’d be like you talked to the Voddie Baucham? I’d definitely would be excited!
I would but I'm not there yet
I've really been researching and watching the Prosperity Preachers and I'm ashamed at these Charlatans. Shame on you! This man has an AMAZING message! Why are we sorry for chosing the word of God? Because it offends? Why are we soooo sorry that someone is offended? Someone I'd always offended!
18:35 It’s not it. Sometimes a teenager has lively connection to Christ and parents although know more are breathing death.
Just a nugget of trying to bring the whole gospel together versus my upbringing. My daddy loved me this I know. However he beat me ( and did not think it beating) for everything I did right or wrong in his sight. As I become older I can understand him. However it is my standard of my heavenly Father. It leaves me in confusion because of what christians experience in God's will. Struggle. Is it because of punishment or because of growth??? I know I will never understand God's exploritory of my faith. So every morning I say 'thy will be done' however I still wonder if it is of God or another deception of Satan. Guess what I am saying is how do we know if from God for our good or from Satan's demons to keep us from victory. I'm also saying I don't need my ears tickled, do not tell me how much my daddy loved me. I know he did.
So what is the meaning of 👉’Expository Apologetics’ !???? 😨😰😰🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
It's a pastor using scripture to affect the worldview of his congregation. To get the pagan worldview out of the worldview of his congregation. Like when he said God was not just getting Israel out of Egypt he was getting Egypt out of Israel
Actually, it doesn't necessarily have to be a preacher. It can be anyone using the word of God as a starting point for correcting falsehood.
@Donnie Haflich to have an answer in a smiple way is good.
But God is deep and He reveals the truth to the hungry to the one who on the hunt.
But a good presenter can demonstrate and shine light with seed dropping and hope inspiration.
Let's not stop are talk cause one doesn't believe.
How do you baptize?
Amen!

What does he mean he is "presuppositional"?
@@ServantofGOD__
The nature of reality is that God is first and last so classic apologetics is sexy and fun for intellectuals but at best it infers theism/God in all its forms: Kalam, fine tuning, moral law etc.
whereas presuppositional dictates God, Christ, and Scripture as truth and saving power so it would be closer to the truth and fulfilling because God comes first in this arena. Classic piques interest where pre becomes more serious for the individual because it has implications and convictions at the individual level. Some have converted by the help of classic but I would say pre is more impactful at ground level.
Holy Spirit is not limited by arena, however no one can come to saving knowledge w out Christ.
IF THE WORLD HATED ME THEY WILL HATE YOU TOO
1Corinthians 2:
1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

I LOVE LISTENING TO WASHER/ SPROUL PLAIN AN SIMPLE VODDIE TRIES TO USE TOO MANY BIG WORDS GODS WORD DONT NEED ALL THAT..
This is the tradition of men… the Holy Ghost is the preacher through a man. The apostles were told don’t preplan but it will be told you what to say… all the book of Acts the apostles preached repentance water baptism and being baptized with the Holy Ghost. This man is nothing but a college professor. Repent
(you can't have a counterfeit without an authentic, can you? One can still make a profit selling fake gold; but only if real gold exists!) You will never see Voddie on T.V.! If his purpose was to make money, he would not have adopted 7 children! There is only one race. The human race! Peace be with you!
Victoria Koerber, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Theology is entertainment to me but I truly care for the believers. I have finally come to the realization that religion is a game. I fought that realization for a long time. Think of it, through time most Christians have never read the Bible. Start was pressed for them and they began to play.
@@myoneblackfriend3151 Interesting. I was curious as to how you came upon this video in the first place. Just wondering because I have only met 1 person in the last 5 years who has ever heard of Voddie Baucham. Then, If you could expand on why you came to realize that religion is a game. Very intrigued by your thoughts.
Victoria Koerber, it popped up in the recommended videos. I initially heard of him on the Paulogia channel. Vodie, who sounds a lot like Neil deGrasse Tyson, was chosen to narrate “Genesis Paradise Lost” film.
MyOneBlack Friend I discovered him at Ligonier ministries (free theology website and app) in a link to their 2014 National Conference.
Romans 2:15. better to address the conscious by using God's law to help them see their need.
I don't know what his other lectures are like, but this was a complete waste of time and very juvenile
Hi, Greg. This was just an introductory video and a ground basis for the next videos on the expository apologetics.
I found it helpful.
