OMG your price compare to your techniques and the quality of the hair products is affordable , the hairdresser in NY charged me about the double of your price for fried brassy hair just for roots touch up and at the end they blame it on me because I have dark roots!!!
If you are lucky enough to have found a great hairdresser, stylist or colorist, don't take them for granted... let them know. I think the most important thing a woman can have - next to talent, of course - is her hairdresser Thank you so much for everything you do - you're a truly talented stylist and I enjoy all of your educational tutorials . Every clients hair looks and probably feels fantastic, and I am sure they are so grateful to be in your capable hands
Thanks for telling your prices! What did you use for toners on your partial and half foil?? They all look beautiful! At my salon we have partial and full foils, but the partial is 10-12 foils!! I dislike partials that are dictated by the number of foils! You put way more foils in all your highlite because of the babylites--but I like the looks of them too-not stripey!!
I just want to say as an assistant in school myself, I love how you include your assistant. Just by asking her to hold a piece of hair, having her curl a few strands or the whole head for you, and then also include her in round brushing. I wish my boss would ask me to do that or allow me to more like it. It's not as if she's losing any money from me helping her and it gives me the experience. I just thought I would put that out there as a praise to you, the hairstylist, and as a tip for other stylist who have or have thought about having an assistant. Either way, assistants love to help and it's nice when we get to do more than just sweep, watch, and wash towels😊
I mean that's what's an assistant is for isn't it? When I was an assistant/apprentice I was washing all clients, doing root retouches and blow drying them. At least the clients that allowed the blow dry. And of course sweeping, washing coffee cups and all that fun stuff.
Well I can tell you’re not in California by those prices. 😂 Those were very reasonable, especially considering you do more foils than anyone I’ve ever seen. You make blondes look so good! 🙌🙌
Rose Legg 😂 yeah all depends on where you live. She’s in Utah. Im from California, originally from LA in CA and it’s about $95 for just a blow out. I now live in the Bay Area in CA, prices are wayyyy higher than hers. Don’t move girl, it costs so much to live here!! That’s why the pricing evens out. 😊 Another subject I thought was so nice that she talked about was pricing with everything included, it’s so helpful. Pricing things separately really limits you a stylist from being able to make your clients look their best and keep the integrity of their hair. It’s a win win, I hope anyone pricing separately will take that tip. I’ve never done it separately, but I would die if my client walked out the door with out a toner and that’s my work and she just paid me a bunch of money to look unfinished. I just thought that was the best take away from this vid. 😊
If you priced that low in CA people think "She must not be very good." I h ad to bump my pricing up to get credibility, even thpigh my work was always good.
@@roseemerald7351 Girl i just recently moved to NJ because California was insane. I paid $2,500 a month for a 3 bedroom townhome, when I sold it in 2016 it was listed as a Condo, I almost had a heart attack. But if you walk into a Orange County salon in California you can get amazing education and then you teach in Oklahoma and you will make bank (you're considered a mega Senior stylist or a know it all). Anyhow!! Good luck! here if we charged this amount we'd loose our entire clientele as well. We're by the country area.
I understand we never have enough hands as a hairstylist but oh my at that stylist working in the back ground... poor client is getting a new set of extensions along with her stylist saliva lol
Do you reccomend using the shiny side of the foil rather than the matte side? I notice you do that? Is it easier??? Also, how do you get a client to stop moving so much when you're foiling??
So nice technics and results! Just a question, on the half head. Did u do the ”halo” all the way around ? It looks like u left out the part just behind the ears ? Just curious if it Will be a dark ”hole” there when she put her hair up? 😃
The girl in the background putting extensions in, actually put them in her mouth and was then putting them on the client 🤮 Is this an actual salon? That is a HUGE Nono in our industry, for obv reasons!!!
Are you familiar with the stylist Jamie Sea? Her ig: @prettylittleombre It's from her brush collection. Her website is www.saltsocietyeducation.com I just ordered her brush set from the "painting collection". If you check out the site, there's a drop down bar to your left. Click on "shop brushes", and you'll find it. There are pictures of the brushes and a video describing their uses and she demonstrates each application.
The Average Golfer Sway Baez seriously and she includes olaplex I charge 110 for partial and cut I do add the toner cause I don’t want them to leave without toner
Any professional stylists out there to answer my question? Was it “risky” to do the full highlight on the last client? She had obviously been lightened previously and I could see that you overlapped on her a lot. It made me so nervous! Not a critique at all, just curious. I assume a stylist just has to make an informed decision based on the clients hair condition, what they want, and how much damage they’re willing to live with.
Just FYI! If anyone else sees my comment and has the same question, Jessi explains her thoughts on overlapping in a lot of her other vids. She uses max 20vol on previously bleached hair and always with a bond-builder like olaplex. She uses her best judgement about the integrity of the client's hair and their tolerance for damage. There *are* a few vids of her working on a family member or another hair stylist and causing more damage than she would on a regular client. However, she explains that the family member/hair stylist knows the risks of over-processing and accepts the risk.
I LOVE this series. I honestly can’t afford a ton of continuing Ed. My salon does a great job of giving us continuing Ed which is nice. I love seeing the different techniques for blonding because it’s my favorite. Please keep doing the beauty school videos as well as all of your other videos. Love you Jessi!
Binge watched your beauty school series today 😄 So many awesome tips, thank you! Also, I love how good her baby did for this appointment. So adorable! 😍
sandraenglandful she has a new video about how and why she sometimes overlaps :) but basically she just uses a low volume lightener to bump the ends up a level
I cannot thank you enough for this video. !! I own my own studio salon and you addressed so many questions I had about how to price things, so I feel I can get paid for extra work and product costs that can be so much. Thanks Jessi, you’re the best!
The last one( the full) hardly had any new growth. She should have gotten a low light. All that overlapping. Her bangs and sides were so broken. Poor thing needs a break for about 6-12 months.
Beautiful work!👍👍 You foil same exact way I do & makes the most sense going from bottom up so foils stay put! Also like how you break down your pricing w/the options you include-thanks for sharing that! Just curious if you book clients in between your colors &/or foils? I dont to keep my sanity as many of my clients have more hair than God lol (as do I) plus most salons Ive worked for/rented at had no assistants & hiring my own wasn't always feasible
Can you talk about your timing? How long highlight services typically take you? With root smudges too. I feel like I take too long but not sure if I’m just over thinking it
I wonder how doable it is to do brightest lightening on level 5 but also bump everything that's not lightened to say lvl 8. It's easy when you're not working that close to the scalp with the foils but now I think it may be best to just lighten the whole head to lvl 10 and then add a level 8 root smudge, maybe some foils here and there...
I don't like when the color comes out white or Silver. I seen someone use an ash & something else on a Yong lady it looked terrible ! Like silver hair on Yong person didn't look good at all , She didn't say anything but she didn't look happy
The tutorials were great but those clients have all had highlights or just lightened hair before and a before and after comparison would've been helpful...
I would love love love if u would show your haircuts, trims, bang trims and all that as well! It would help so much because I know a lot of clients like trims after getting blonde in their hair!
How many ounces do start off with and then after ? I rent and I feel I don’t charge enough and I end up using so much product and so much time ... how long do you usually take for an average client for each service thank you for this !
MrzBadaBing from another renter one bowl of color is usually 2oz. total (or 60grams). if im using somethiny that needs to be mixed 1:1.5 then the bowl for that is 2.5. if im using 4oz of color or more then it’s considered a double batch and I charge more. (unless its a full foil, i include a double batch in my full)

During the partial high light when you parted off the Mohawk section do you part even spaces on each side of their natural part or how do you section it so it’s perfectly even on both sides??
Lord the world we live in $180 for full head my hair is past my ass so I'm sure it would be more! To have roots less then a month later 😣 This is why I've learned to do my own.. But u do awesome work! If i lived close I would treat my self maybe 1nc a year in your chair! 😙

So on the partial did you do anymore on the sides? Or just the few diagonal backs around the hairline? Love your videos btw they help me out so much being a new hairstylist ❤️
I learn more education from UA-cam vids than I do from actual classes in my city 🤷🏼♀️
Me too. lol. Every time she makes one
Me too! So grateful for these videos

Lauren Vlaming same!!
If it wasn’t for UA-cam I wouldn’t have passed state board . My school sucked . Thank you you tube
Love it!! Is there any chance you can post a like diagram of the partings for each one :(
You can find them online.
Yes that would be great!! Is this diagonal parting toward the front on the last client?

I notice you leave some of the ends out.. do you drag it thru if so how long until you or do you apply more to the ends?
How much would you charge for hair extensions I want to start putting some

SO for your full HL do you always stop around for the occipital and move to the front then finish the back section?
Since you charge more for each bowl, do you have a set amount of lightener that you mix at the beginning of each service?
Holy Christmas... That is a full where I'm from.. and that would start at like 220+
Move the camera, your arm is blocking everything. Show your parts pre highlight.

Thanks so much ! Great advice and techniques! So curious as to what toners you used....beautiful!!
Unrelated but Im a salon assistant and I noticed how your assistant passed you foils in the background... Maybe i should try that way
I’m actually curious how you curl those super loose waves? Do you have a video on that?
This is amazing... they do highlights to very blonde girls... a partial and half dont work here with latin hair. They need always full highlights... latin hair is really a challenge to work with !!! God bless natural blondes... they are super easy to work with.

Brad Mondo proved oloplex don't really do much of anything. Just sayin
Them girls really be moving their heads way too much 🤦🏽♀️
I’m thinking sit still this whole time!!
Should be over $200
I feel like the full highlight still had quite a bit of yellow that could have been toned out but very nice highlights!
Love love love this video! Can you explain partings for highlights and how to transition well when going diagonal to the apex? So the highlights aren’t running into each other?
When it's all too blond do you do reverse with low lights ? Weave them in , so it doesn't look solid blond ?
It would be nice to see what you're doing your body and arm covers a lot of what you're doing
Do you do a root tap on these? I have a problem with lines when I go all the way to the top of the foil as you do:-/. It’s so frustrating and makes me feel bad as a stylist.
Headsheets please:) I'm assuming you stagger the triangle at the top of the crown based on how the client parts their hair?
What would you say is your average application time for each service?
I thought u weren't suppose to put bleach on the already bleached hair?
How long do the first and last highlights take you to complete with that many foils?
Too bad your shoulder and arm are in the way so we can't see what you're doing.
Damn those are cheap prices! I hope you’ve raised your prices since!
Do you charge the styling separate or is it included in the service price
How much do you mix for your initial lightener or toner ? 30g ?
your blonding prices are so fair! I love it.
This is my “go to” video. Best ever!!
can I use this technique on dark brown hair?
What developer should you use on blondes going lighter?
Why don’t you get the assistant to clip hair and hold foil it’s faster
I thought toner was automatically added to All high lights ?
Definitely going to be trying out these techniques! Thank you for sharing!
