That’s not totally true. We definitely have seen games that push the envelope, and are visually higher than anything we saw last gen at a technical level, and they are attempting it at double the framerate as well, which is kind of insane. 60 fps is extremely expensive. And in those games, especially UE5 as it is particularly heavy, we’re seeing internal resolutions around 720p before upscaling. These consoles are already being pushed to their limits. Before I would have said we didn’t need a Pro, but seeing some recent titles, we kind of do. Although with the same CPU being used in the Pro there’s only so much headway a half step console can make.
@@mandrews6282 I get that games now are demanding. That wasnt my comment. My comment was lack of actual games released by Sony. If you strip out non current gen and games not also on PC, its around 7. SEVEN. Ridiculous for a mid generation to have so little titles. Xbox is no different. Unless we start getting games truly struggling on PS5 (which offers the performance modes with minimal difference in fidelity and even 120HZ options), a Pro isnt necessarily needed. @joewhan11 The big three are Drake , Epstien and Diddy , they'll host a party n bring alcohol, everyone must hand over the teenage girls in their family
To me, consoles have always meant causal gaming. 1080p maybe 1440 at 30fps or 60fps. If you want 4k 120fps or 8k 120fps that is why you spend $2000 on a good quality gaming desktop. Consoles should stick to $400 or $500 price points.
I believe that some details of hardware configuration should be taken into the consideration. it would be unclear to see the performance from the refined RDNA3.5 with co-issue functionality that would probably have marginal performance increase over previous generation. not to mention that if Zen2 would be viable choice for the high definition of playable experience when RT enabled.
My bet is that RT is pushing the price of this console up significantly by maybe $100-$200. Should have improved the CPU instead of they insisted on this price.
There is no "big 3". One of the 3 elements mentioned (RT) is actually a result of one of them existing on the machine (more GPU). You can't have RT w/o more GPU
Can we plug an external gpu with ps5 with an hdmi to thunderbolt cable and use an egpu to increase performance of the base ps5 can someone answer this ?
Had sony included a disc drive, they couldve launched the pro with a "fully backwards compatible" feature, allowing Ps1, ps2, and ps3 discs to be read and run through emulators, created by PAID members of the emulation community (developers from duckstation, PCSX2, and RPCSX3). Combined with full PS4 backwards compatibility, the Pro could have the entire catalog ready to play, and they could drop games from each console weekly on the digital storefront like the Wii did with the virtual console. This would help keep players around during the massive game droughts, help sell the horrible price tag, bring sony in money through digital games sales, and increase their reputation. I dont know how we got this move instead.
The only thing I'm concerned about is this: Was the leaked '33.5 TFLOPS' information true? Is the architecture in the PS5 PRO actually RDNA3 (or maybe 3.5)? In reality, even if the FLOPS number is high, it might not directly impact software performance that much. But that’s fine, because I like the numbers. I don't care if it's 'Dual Issue' or whatever. Does the PS5 PRO really have hardware that hits 33.5 TFLOPS?
The price itself is not that bad if you consider the fact that XSX 2TB is priced at 600$. Knowing how much market PS4pro and X1X took, it's no wonder that both sony and Microsoft don't want to sell the premium model at their own cost.
Didn't see people complaining much about the digital series x for that huge price tag, with some people trying to make justification for the price with literally no upgrade at all. For £100 difference, with more advanced gpu and pssr features, the ps5 pro won't have a break from content creators.
There is an antinsony agenda on a bunch of channels. Everything sony does is literally bashed up to death, they are even in the narrative that console market is bad when is only awful for MS as sony keeps selling at ps4 rate despite the higher price points.
at this point or maby at the ps6 reveal seems to me the games will look and work good enough and they should just build games based on that looks good or are fun from now and moving forward.. but we dont need ps7 based on tv visuals we can see only so many colors so as games get more improved it gets harder to tell a difference ....by the way do you think a 4k tv helps visually as well? i havnt bought one yet
We really needed to see games that already struggle. Some of these 720p before FSR titles at a shakey 60 fps. Or games that have higher end RT lighting on PC or something that could maybe hit that here. I’m actually surprised CDPR didn’t jump on this with Cyberpunk since that game has been a testing bed essentially for cutting edge tech it’s entire existence and most of the legwork is already done on PC. If they could have showed RT reflections on console Cyberpunk that would have wow’d because of how infamous CP’s RT is, even to the average player who has heard of it. Hopefully we see more leading up to launch. Like the games they showed already run at 1440-1800p at 60 fps and look great on PS5. Some are even cross gen titles. So it was a weird showcase indeed.
I don't like the dishonesty from Sony. They advertised the base PS5 as 4k60fps and they never deliver because lack of games. Now they advertise the exact thing again with ps5 pro (4k60fps) and with the same games we already have and probably beaten. They actually advertised better ray tracing in Spiderman 2...like really? a game where you move 1000 mph moves so quick can't even see the npcs on the streets...that's the game they showcased...Sony wtf
6:14 Excuse me? 640p blasted out to 4K with FSR2 or even DLSS looks like canine excrement. What is this take even? 1080p up to 4K is the bare minimum for it to look acceptable.
In a lot of these modern AAA games with what we would consider realistic graphics by 2020s standards why is everything so damn shiny ? Every object being shiny doesn't happen irl smh

People will buy it, yes but its a minimal upgrade until we get actual games harnessing it which most (console games) havent come close to for now.
@@Alex-xg8py What? Why are you disqualifying games that are on PC? Lol? What kind of mental gymnastics is that? If you own a PS5 you have access to all of the games. First party, 2nd party, 3rd party. All of them. What weirdo game are you playing when you remove practically everything off the table and then complain about it 😂😂😂
@@pixeljauntvr7774Ok, lets stop circling around random things. I commented "This gen is severely lacking true games that utilise the existing hardware." Someone commented that games are in fact over utilising the hardware. I referred my comment back to my original of lack of games that utilise the existing hardware. Maybe the PC argument isnt relevant, but the fact is Playstation or Xbox lack a large amount of current generation games that either are also not on last gen or use the hardware to its potential.
Like Kendrick said "f#@k the big three"😂!
@joewhan11 The big three are Drake , Epstien and Diddy , they'll host a party n bring alcohol, everyone must hand over the teenage girls in their family
The ladies used to have the big 3 for tea. 1 sausage and 2 potatoes.
@geogematheson3787 Lmao the old meat and 2 veg while the meat eat their peach and 2 melons
So I'm really curious if the Sony games that are coming to PC, if PSSR will be an option on the PC version of the Sony game.
power consumption?
the big three, that name used to be used for Naruto, Bleach and One piece when they were coming out still
The ‘Big 3’ will always be Nintendo, Sega and PlayStation to me
To me, consoles have always meant causal gaming.
Just wait for ps6
You can buy a disk drive you know....
Does the PS5 PRO really have hardware that hits 33.5 TFLOPS?
if preoder is soon, why they already don't have test units on press. This sounds off. It feels sony is hiding it.
They aren't lol
You are just a cringe conspirationist
I’ll just wait for ps6 at this point. Ps5 is good enough now.
PSSR is now confirmed - a rebranded, custom tweaked for hardware FSR4.0, ai driven upscaller, that will be introduced with RX8000 series cards.
The price itself is not that bad if you consider the fact that XSX 2TB is priced at 600$. Knowing how much market PS4pro and X1X took, it's no wonder that both sony and Microsoft don't want to sell the premium model at their own cost.
It is bad and almost no one will buy XSX 2TB for 600.
Or even at 500 lol@@W_Strone_Swiatla
@@W_Strone_Swiatla Well nobody is buying the Xbox period.
The Big 3 is 6,9,9 dollars
I don't like the dishonesty from Sony. They advertised the base PS5 as 4k60fps and they never deliver because lack of games. Now they advertise the exact thing again with ps5 pro (4k60fps) and with the same games we already have and probably beaten. They actually advertised better ray tracing in Spiderman 2...like really? a game where you move 1000 mph moves so quick can't even see the npcs on the streets...that's the game they showcased...Sony wtf
Love the PS5 disc drive in the background, great touch 😂
At this rate the PS7 will let you smell the games you play
all 2 games for it
Who knows in the distant future sony and xbox team up and make a super console that plays everything.
6:14 Excuse me? 640p blasted out to 4K with FSR2 or even DLSS looks like canine excrement. What is this take even? 1080p up to 4K is the bare minimum for it to look acceptable.
Is PRO going to help on upcoming Call Of Duty games?
In a lot of these modern AAA games with what we would consider realistic graphics by 2020s standards why is everything so damn shiny ? Every object being shiny doesn't happen irl smh
R.I.P Xbox
I think it will do the big 3 well at 30 fps. Wich, is ok given the ilder cpu spec.
Im sure it will sell well. You cannot buy an equivalent pc for 700$. Why is everyone crying like a b!tch.
Bunch of entitled little men children who think everything should be 99 usd
Because there is a strong anti sony agenda and sony did a terrible work at the showcase
Gt running 8k at 60 fps was impressive, but they chose not to show that
Will pssr be available on the non ps5 pro?
I'm afraid not
@@rodriguezkev ya sounds abouy right.
@@chillnspace777 Gotta have reasons to upgrade I guess lol
There is FSR 2.0 and even 3.0 already. Sure the worst from all reconstruction techniques, but there is.
@@W_Strone_Swiatla I rather lower resolution than use these upscaling techniques.
There isn’t RT in GT7 gameplay… it’s in replays!
I think so too
Lmfao GT7 currently running at 8k 120fps or 8k 60fps with ray tracing enabled
Your borza Motorsport 4k 30fps with Ray tracing get your facts right, on the PS5 PRO that is
Shhh digital foundry has to make sure they bend the truth to keep bashing on the Ps5 pro Launch.
They said that many times in the video. Their point was that we've already seen what RT can look like in GT7, they wanted to see new games or a showcase in the enhancemnets the new GPU can bring. That said this video seemed like they just sounded salty that Sony didn't come to them to do a proper showcase for the PS5Pro.
thats literally what they said in the podcast. Listen and use your brain. Theres RT in GT7, in replay. Now it will be in gameplay
You guys big 3 for this industry. We're like it or not but this is the truth guys.😊
No.
8k they said that last time
I feel like some stuff they could have gave us to make it more worth it is probably being held back so if they release a PS6 it can have more upgraded stuff so they may have held back some maybe but I don’t know maybe they are just overpricing it or something
Limited Edition SpongeBob SquarePants Xbox Series X for $699 😂.
Well, choose wisely I guess 🤷♂️
PS5 Pro would have benefitted a lot from a Naughty Dog new game announcement to hype people. At this rate, it seems Naughty Dog will skip a whole gen.
A good sample is Horizon. On PS5 Pro u will get 4K/60fps and with active post processing filters like in the in-game cinematics. It's a big step!
My concern is upcoming games might drop more graphics or resolution because of they want u to buy pro version if that's happened i won't be buying PlayStations anymore because it will be a lie a big lie if 30fps doesn't look close to 60fps graphics on ps5
The standard PS5 will still be the overwhelmingly more popular system to own. It'll still be the target platform for developers.
@@pixeljauntvr7774 but they might lower the resolution of games more for making people buy pro version may degrad alot of upcoming games for this reason
If you DONT have a PS5 yet…THIS IS YOUR CONSOLE. I am interested to see the REAL difference in BALDURS GATE 3 and i guess this would be a good reason for me to FINALLY buy Elden Ring😂
Pay station 5 Prolapse, they really are taking the PSSR and introducing it to us.
The first ai upscaler in a console, the ps5 pro is just a test run
Gaming PCs have no price limit. iPhones that cost $1,500 or more sell well. A $30,000 car can easily accelerate to 200 km/h, but people want to buy a $100,000 car. Is a console that costs $100 more really a bad choice?
*$200 more. Consoles were never meant to be this expensive
@rains2693 Yes it's a bad choice
The PS5 Pro's release may finally give Xbox Series X owners better multiplat versions instead of PS5 straight ports.
Is Ryzen 3700 enough to handle the RX6800 ? that is the question when it comes to PS5 Pro
Nope, it will hold it back.
It seems the demos are so small, few and weird because the PS5 Pro is simply not ready for prime time.
If you're skeptical, just wait for the benchmarks, dont pre order........ never preorder
Taking the PSSR
My boy Rock gott’em saying Pisser! Nice 👍🏻
We want 4k @ 120hrtz. But if "they"made that console no one would be able to afford it.
Yes and therein lies the problem. But they should be able to make money by volume.. Not by hiking the price to where everyone is annoyed and won't buy one.
A rock steady 60fps is fine at a decent resolution (being 2k upscaled)
@@MagicAyrtonforever They are condition people for the $700 it will cost for PS6 digital.
If they had any interest in cutting the price they would have included a 1tb ssd instead of a 2tb.
If you can’t even get that resolution and frame rate on every game on PC, how would you expect a console to do that?
@@brandon_nope Exactly, even a 4090 struggles to keep up with 60fps native 4k in modern games (at ultimate which is far higher than consoles target)
No, its not. That simple
A lot of ppl buying this will be upgrading from their current PS5. They can just sell it and put it toward the pro. That's what im doing anyway.
But you'll still be paying something like $400-500 after selling the ps5?
100% this! trade that bad boy in. i do it every time there's a new console
@TheHulksMistress no lol, if you can't negotiate, you might need those $400- $500😂😂
If you think this is expensive, get into playing guitar. I just spent 7k on a master built Fender custom shop stratocaster. I know 2 different hobbies. It would be hard to build a 700 dollar PC to match the PS5 pro and most gamers don't have a good oled 4k 144 hrz tv to utilize it anyway.
Try riding motorcycles 😂
And we have the sneakerheads that spend thousands of dollars on sneakers shoes, why people like to tell other how to use their own money
I dont see how theres this many topics with how little was shown. Still another month and a half before its even out.
the big 3 DF deff better then ps5 pro specs
They'd never mock Xbox like how they refer to PSSR as a "pisser". God damn, Alex is annoying.
People say this is middle tech will there be a last ps5 after the pro sorta revised?
People can't claim anything as there is no official spec sheet.
Only leaks which you can believe or not and it got a bunch of stuff right before official presentation, so take taht as you wish.
Is not middle at all, is a high end GPU

Sony: The hardware
Gamers: So, get a PC?
Do you think you guys could formally address the statements made by Wingsofredemption recently where he said "a base PS5 is better than any PC out there"?
I feel that many submental goobers might share this sentiment, thank you 👍🙏
I’ma wait for Death Stranding 2 to see if the upgrade is worth it. Might be crazy if Indiana Jones takes advantage of the upgrade. I’m playing that one on XSX, personally, but if Sony got the definitive console release… that would be something!
Probably, let's hope brother 🙏🏾
They should have added a year or 6 months of ps+ to sweeten the deal 🤷♂️
It would be enough... at a sensible pricepoint.
The truth is that $700 or €800 ix oeanuts these days . Most people in first world countries have that kind of money easily . Sony following the Apple model but the problem is that consoles are not status items like the iphone has become and people upgrade every year for slightly better hardware spending north of 1000 without complaing . PS5 pro obviously is worth the money for the kind of low-mid tier current gen hardware it offers but people complain because they dont see it as status item
