    Tim has built an amp for me. He is first class in every possible way and my custom Sideman is the best amp I have ever owned and heard. Bar none. Anything he puts out is worth considering as the man is a wizard, in my opinion.

    i love this concept, been waiting for somebody to create something like the vox amplug with real tubes and quality you can use with cabs og pa systems, or just headphones for travel like you can buy tube preamps for headphones, but can anybody please explain the inner workings of this thing, its 50w you can drive a big cabinet, or plug you soundsystem into, how do you push the tubes to break up with headphones or pa? are you dependent on a screamer og blues driver/boost pedal to get those tones?

    • @gabeziegler6612
      @gabeziegler6612 3 роки тому +1

      I know i’m a bit late, but from what i’ve seen through other videos is that since this amp only has the one preamp tube, it tends to get really clubby when pushed with the volume. If you want some great tones, I’d recommend using this amp with an overdrive pedal... I personally love the sound of the blues driver, but really any od pedal will get your to where you want to be. Hope this helped :)

    What are we hearing when they switch to the player? Have they mic'd a cabinet (near the end for a moment I see what looks like an SM57 on the cab)? Is it the direct out? Is it going through any other cab emulation? Hard to know what to make of this without that kind of info.

    • @MDFariasMusic
      @MDFariasMusic 6 років тому

      There is a short overview of The Amp on Milkmans youtube channel to give you a better take on it.

      Thanks. This may be what you mentioned: ua-cam.com/video/O58148dqiww/v-deo.html. Nice to see more details there. Plus it sounds great (though only clean tones are demoed). Up to about 2:40 it looks like we're hearing a mic'd cab. At around 3:30 they are clearly demoing the direct out with the cab sim. Not sure what's going in in the middle, since there are cables in all the output jacks (direct and amp). But it sounded solid throughout.

    I'm still waiting for some company to make a stereo pedalboard amp with stereo effects loop. Maybe I should patent it and make it out of clay :P

    • @Spidouz
      @Spidouz 6 років тому +1

      like the Diezel VH4S or Koch SuperNova 6060... (in a pedal). If already more lunchbox amps would come with stereo loop and stereo out, that would already be a good start for the Wet/Dry/Wet setup kind of rig :)

    • @richardwilliams1310
      @richardwilliams1310 6 років тому +1

      Phil Smith Probably why so many people just use their audio interfaces and software - daw, guitar amp sim plugins and speaker cabinet impulse responses and listen through monitors as they can try and sculpt their dream tone and dream effects chain. Wet/Dry/Wet, Stereo ... in a live situation phase and ground loops would cause issues. Maybe this is why stereo setups are not implemented by most guitarists, as carting around 2 big tube amps per guitarist would be a pain in conjunction with their stereo pedalboard and loop switcher. Don’t really need a stereo preamp pedal as you could use several preamps with a loop switcher like the Boss ES-8 and configure 2 fx chains, the power amp requirement for these setups is what is lacking on the market. I guess you could always buy 2 Fryette Power Stations but there should be a cheaper option and a one box solution. I guess more people just go direct with their amp modeller pedals - Fractal Axe-FX, Atomic Amps AmpliFire, HeadRush Pedalboard, Line 6 Helix, etc

    • @richardwilliams1310
      @richardwilliams1310 6 років тому +1

      Diezel VH4-2 or Amptweaker Tight Metal Pro & Line 6 Helix HX Effects or Boss MS-3 or Atomic Amps AmpliFire 6 would be a great little pedalboard for metal \m/

    • @Spidouz
      @Spidouz 6 років тому +1

      Richard Williams yep! Because there's no much "stereo loop and out" amp, I personally won't bother and will just use a modeler with two FRFR cabs for the L&R Wet; since it's for the wet path, it's not as crucial as for the dry clean and dirty tones... but it doesn't have to be that way. But I see already manufacturer answer: just buy two of these.

    • @richardwilliams1310
      @richardwilliams1310 6 років тому

      Phil Smith seen a few demos with that setup. Full range cabinets certainly gives you more flexibility to amplify a ton of cab/mic impulses and a lightweight option for the gigging musician. Wonder what cabs the Kemper and Positive Grid head owners use for an uncoloured tone??? C’mon Milkman, smaller manufacturers like you guys can certainly make a stereo pedalboard amp that everyone would want for fly gigs. I guess it would take an endorsee to have one made for them. Is Steve Vai needing a new amp endorsement after Carvin’s closure??? Lol

    • @SimonMittermaier
      @SimonMittermaier 6 років тому +1

      i think, although they're both pedal format amps, they speak to different customers. To me it's like comparing a fender deluxe reverb and a marshall JVM, you can't really say ones better than the other, it depends on what you want to do with it.

    • @billrand4138
      @billrand4138 6 років тому

      oh i agree,,horses for courses and all that,,but four channels series/paralel effects loop, noise gate, boost , reverb,,100w but then nobody needs that admitedly :) with the remote1 midi and aditional looper programable all that ,,,but as already been said not made by a boutique amp company :)

    • @ernestochang1744
      @ernestochang1744 6 років тому

      i mean you dont need to connect the milkman pedal to an amp/speaker or anything for it to make a sound right? just the pedal and it sounds like that? sorry its jsut that im still wondering how is this possible, have they finally made witchcraft in the music world possible?

    • @DandamanV
      @DandamanV 6 років тому +1

      Hey Ernesto, the pedal itself is like an amplifier head; it can't make any sound unless it's connected to either a cabinet, headphones, or connected by the XLR output straight into the house/interface on your home studio. This makes it very useful as a DI if you need to run an ampless setup on stage, or allows you to practice at home with headphones. Hope that helps!

      class D has nothing to do with digital, if that's what you are referring to. class D is an analog amp, the letter just stated the working principle and they are listed alphabetically. Otherwise, what would class B stand for?
