Don't listen to these ignorant, anti social, negative Neanderthals. You are very entertaining , and seem like a cool, fun Dude. who loves the guitar and good music. That's always tops in my book. Thanks for posting, and hope you keep on posting.
Lol the Neanderthals gonna sue you for racism
What’s wrong with Neanderthals (with the h silent)!?
Reminds me a lot of Phil X on the old Fretted Americana videos. Dagan seems like a great player who really knows his shit
Tone Seeker
The facts are Mr Tone Seeker that these amps are being misrepresented they are great little amps but they are all way too loud for playing at home in an apartment especially in a bedroom situation
6:33 ah yes, the three musical genres. Metal, clean, and Hendrix
Oh man😂😂
Hendrix is my favorite
😂😂😂
that we all know and love
There are others?
Every time I think about what I will get next for my guitar and amp collection I come back to this channel because not only are the videos entertaining, they’re really informative and Dagan is an incredible musician as well.
We need to get this man to the Greek
Lmbo!!
Great comment
Greek Theater?
I feel the same every time I see his videos
@@Cyberfender1 careful laughing your butthole off. Hemorrhoids are no fun!
I swear you could put a half eaten meatball that came from the ocean in front of this guy and say "sell this somehow" and I'd wanna buy it
That's a great idea for a channel! Let's review half eaten food from the ocean. Haha I love it. Thanks for watching! - Lee
"It's luscious, it has that meatiness we all know and love"
I think this is the greatest amp review I have ever seen.
"And this one goes to 12, and that one more then 11" love that spinal tap joke. Saw that movie on my 18th birthday. I'm 20 this month.
I heard everything I needed to hear by 12 minutes in, but I listened to the whole video because this guy is entertaining.
I love your reviews. You play each amp with a wide range of styles to really test them and I'm entertained when you talk.
Any other channel's amp reviews I skip through the talking bits annoyed but you have good relatable info.
Thanks!
That (insert brand name here) tone that we all know and love.
Great, informative and useful review. Thanks Dagan for keeping it fun and not boring.
I love these videos!!! Even if I don't find the one you listed here for me personally, it gives me information I need to find the one that is best for me. I did this with your bass combo video and I'll do it again here. Thank you!
You sir are a very pleasant host. And you have a great way to tell a story. Thank you.
Down a shot everytime he says "know and love"
And "cooking"
Nicolás del Castillo Great minds think alike. I was shitfaced halfway in.
Sh*t I'm drunk now too, Monel.. I just watched two amp videos if him in a row.
Dont forget "offering" !
Fuck, I read this 2 mins into the video, I noticed it every time!
Thanks, just perfect! Because of you I will end up missing space. You are probably one of the best sales guys on internet, you know what you talk about and you have your own style. A very entertaining style! Thx from France
Thanks for these great suggestions. Also, I enjoy your humor. Your love for music comes through in the jokes and positive vibes they spread. Great playing… ‘nuff said!
Just purchased an AC10 within the last month. Absolutely love it. With the slightest adjustment I can get it whisper quite and it will get as loud as I'll ever need. If you need to play a gig and it's not loud enough, then mike it. It also works great with an Ibanez tube screamer mini.
thank you for your feedback - I appreciate it!
I found an Ac 4 mini at a pawn shop and love it. It was so cheap I had to pick it up.
looks real compelling for me, just the marshal seems more appealing budget wise...shall see
@Pete Testube, turning the gain and volume knobs to taste. Want more gain? Turn up gain knob and turn down volume. Want clean? Turn down the Gain and turn up the volume. Simple. Only thing I can say it that I have changed my mind about putting a tube screamer in front of it. Found much better drives, such as a blues breaker style OD.
@Pete Testube, not at the time. Budget concerns. I have thought about it since. The AC15 is nice as well. I live in a condo and have a shared wall. My neighbor swears he doesn't hear me practicing. The AC15 is just a tad louder at low volume, but if you had your own house it would be fine. It is heavier if you plan to take it places. I guess it depends on what you need from an amp.
I've got the EVH 5150 III 15w lunch box going through a mesa 2x12 recto cab and it's perfect for bedroom jamming in my opinion. my first tube amp ever...I was blown away by how huge and brutal it can be. love it.
@Moai™ shortly after that, I got the Mesa boogie JP2C and then a buddy of mine wanted to downsize his rig so I traded my 2x12 for his 4x12 lol I have a complete mesa half stack now and the little evh which still sounds surprisingly good compared to the JP2C
Like a number of people I love the Laney Cub 15 watt valve amp.Really smooth but punchy sound.I have been using mine with an ABY pedal connecting up my VHT Ultra 6 or B52 60 watt head fitted with THD Yellow Jacket/EL84 tubes.Stereo overdrive - awesome!
I'm glad I watched this. I was possibly going to get something but I really want that little 5150
i liked them all...but man , that 10 watt vox is sweet
Agreed
Damn it! Dagan has really grown on me and I think I've seen all his videos now. He's very entertaining
It takes pedals marvellously well. The sound we know and love. 😆
so glad I found this channel. I'm a guitarist with little knowledge on gear, I appreciate your advice Dagan.
Don't change anything... drooling all the time with this wall full of épis!! Btw, awesome vid!
Well, I really enjoy your posts. Keep up the good work and thanks for posting. You're a good player and clearly very knowledgable. I'm a Marshall guy, but that EVH impressed me...
Appreciate the help. Downsizing from 100w Marshall, and fender stack. Needed the guidance! Its been decades and I dont need stadium equip anymore.
This is a big help! Did not know these gems existed! Thank you. Good work!
It's like jack sparrow giving a gear review. Awesome!
exactly XD
😂😂😂
Try giving him some rum. If he says no; he’s not Jack Sparrow
If Jack Sparrow got sober and picked up music as a pasttime.
CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow
If my big tube amps get too loud I just use a longer cord.
And then you won't even hear the noise police at the door, & keep playing forever:-)
So you can stand outside
@@mrking1629 nah im through with standing in line at clubs ill never get in.
I do that, or leave the room and close the door behind.
Man, you made my day
"I bloody love Voxes!" Great review, a lot of great amps. Great presentation Dagan, you're great.
This was exactly the type of review that I was looking for. All of them sounded great, but you are right - that Vox sounds amazing.
Dagan's chops are on point. He's as clean as a jazz chorus. Play along and see how you stack up.
I had no idea Russel Brand even played guitar.
He's kinda like Brand doing a Jack Sparrow impression. "It's Captain. CAPTAIN Russel Sparrow."
Haha, that's great. Yeah it's like a "what if?" scenario. What if Russel Brand had been cast to play Jack Sparrow? Viola, now we know.
unseen footage from Rock of Ages?
WhoWouldWantThisName that's exactly what I thought. He is a cool guy!
I hear a tad of geordie in his accent.
This guy really has passion for guitar. I know the feeling.
Love this guy. He comes off as a bit of a caricature at first, but seems like a really nice, fun loving dude.
I do like watching this videos with the dagan we all know and love.
First off great job in presenting the various tube amplifiers, I’ve been playing guitar for approximately 50 years so my ears are tuned to to accept all types of amplifications, be it tube or a combination along with transistorized amplifiers. One of my first tube was an Ampeg Studio head from back in the 60’s I believe around 60 watts of pure enjoyment can’t for the life of me remember the cab but it had twin 15’s Which could definitely drown out any drummer that pounded out beats on those huge Slingerlands, some of those old amps are certainly sought after just because of their tone and nostalgia but after time the caps need replacing due to their age and affordability to undertake this task can result into some great expense. With that being said, I’ve been searching out the amp that could “wow” me as far as versatility and what my particular taste was in pertaining to my critical ear and of course value, so what I’ve found with the trend being the fact that miking a particular tube amp seems to be the trend, therefore you can get some pretty good mojo from a 3 watt little tuber, but I decided to go with the ol’ Motto “ if you can’t lift it, buy it “ 😂 so I somehow lugged the Vox AC30c2 out into the van, dragged it into the house, plugged in my Fender powered by Roland Stratocaster into it and was quite impressed I might admit, then plugged in a Gibson Es332 and was even more impressed, to make a long story short, my opinion on the Vox line is in my mind the best choice because I’ve tried them all and still have a few of them kicking around. Nice to see someone taking the initiative to make a post on different tube amplifiers and get great feedback without the bashing that’s sometimes accompanied with particular videos posted, you did an amazing presentation and of course everyone’s ear has its preferences. Thanks.
One of those videos we all know and love ✌️
that’s quite informative demo, I clearly can tell the difference in amp character. Thank you!
They all have great sounding clean tones, all of them
I love the Fender limited editon tweed and I like the Vox10c too. Thanks & Blues On....
I like this guy, he's fun!
gloomhound I agree !
gloomhound yea that was my first thought too. I sense genuine joy.
some vintage songs! Is that Alice Cooper Jr.
Just found this guy. He's fun indeed ! -> subscribed.
gloomhound know and love!
As a beater backup to my pro junior, i bought a 200 buck 15w tube amp from Monoprice. Amazing tone box. It's got effects loop and a real spring reverb tank. I call it my Blues Jr. Killer. I just recently bought it and haven't even changed out the cheap Chinese tubes. I will replace them with nos as soon as they start to go. Great amp. Highly recommended.
great demo. I loved the first two riffs you jammed on. sounding so good. thanks for doing this.
Thanks for this very informative review. By the way: you are an absolute outstanding guitar player. All the best to you from Germany.
Any idea what that Marshall is worth ?
I've tried tons of small tube amps for home use from 1 watt to 15. Vox AC10 is the best by far.
How it compared to Blues Junior?
@@BobbyG101 It is way more versatile. I have never gotten the kind of tone I look for with a Blues Junior. Which I feel is over priced.
IYHO
I just bought the orange 15 for portability as my marshall dsl40 is too heavy but can get that sweet marshal sound. Wish I would’ve watched the first before I bought it
@@wammons007 What amp would you go for the DSL5c?
Love love my ENGL Ironball amp- lets me play at quiet volume with the power soak from 20 watts in band setting to 1 watt at home/recording plus headphone for late night practice. Amazing tone and super easy to use.
My Fender Pro Junior on 4 (10 o'clock) is my CLEAN gigging amp. I love when the sound guy at a gig says "is that gonna be loud enough?"
Ask santana is it loud enough 😂
Damned I truly truly love this man ! passion perspires with every word spoken ! So good !
Awesome reviews man, nice showing both clean and dirty tones. thumbs up from here.
Dagan, you Rock!!! There are several people out there that review products, but you my are the best. You set the bar all others should try to attain!
Fantastic, Dagan, you`re not only a preaty fine guitarist, but a fantastic comunicator and convicing guy. I loved your explanaition, as well as the EVH 5150 III. I'll try to get me one.
I got a blues jr today with a greenback I had no idea that 15 watts could be so loud I love it thanks for the video you make it fun
But can you play it quite enough that you still get that border line break up sound ?
@@benallmark9671 from my experience no, unless you use an attenuator but then it doesn't sound as nice. I have several amps for home use, from a hand wired Vox AC4, Marshall Custom shop JCM1 mini stack, Tone King Gremlin and Blackstar HT1. Best for that nice rich breakup sound at low volume(like what you'd listen to a TV at) is the Supro DeltaKing 8. It's one watt and sounds really nice, and you can always get the 10" but it's a 5watt I believe and would breakup much louder, but not unreasonable. Or you could use the 1w version and use a seperate speaker cab.
From the list, my favourite is the Vox ac10, but I have a Laney Cub12r and I love it :)
sound comparisons are very valued. thank you!!! Dag,i know what I want thanks to you. thank you!
So good, felow, you're not only a great guitarist, but a full master of guitar things, and a vintage conesseur!!!
VOX AC10 - totally for the win
Proper unfussy demo - Thanks!!!!!
The little jam he did with the blackstar was straight up dope!
Greetings from the States Degan. Being a vintage collector, I'm gonna add the Vox AC to my Fender Deluxe Reverb and Marshall Silver Jub 2555X half stack.
Thanks and Rock on man!
Drinking game. “We all know and love”. And.... go! Seriously, thank you for helping me choose my amp! :)
14:15 I've tried my hand at building low power valve amps. It's hard to beat the tone of a self-split class AB 12AU7 (the only way to get that kind of gain in an all-choob amp with just a 12AX7 and a 12AU7). It's also an incredibly easy amp to build, and the transformers (the most expensive part of any choob amp) are cheap as chips.
By the way, the "infinite shape feature" is little more than a Big Muff Pi tone control, and they can't be doing any reverb with that small valve count unless there's some solid state (possibly even digital) business in the reverb chain, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Great review! I chuckled all the way thru cuz this dude is so enthusiastic, and very entertaining!
That tweed blues junior looks and sounds absolutely incredible
I personally have the Blackstar HT-1R Guitar Amplifier Combo with Reverb - it's a great little tube amp with a good amount of crunch. (I have a larger Blackstar amp too, so I have a good comparison). I'm in the United States, but love the British fuzzy sound.
I'm curious why you selected the Blues Jr and not the Bassbreaker 15. They're both fabulous amps, but did you have any particular reason for your choice? Cheers.
I could listen to this guy all day...
Holy crap, that Vox AC10 is fantastic! Love the Blackstar too, even the clean was really good.
I own both a Pro Junior and à Palmer Fab5. The Fender is absolutely brilliant, but no way you can play it above 2 volume wise. It’s 15 LOUD watts. So, clean tones only at home. The Palmer sounds different, more warm tone, but it has a built-in 3 stages attenuator that allows you to play clean or cranked and still preserve your ears and neighbours. This german company isn’t famous as the brands in this video, but you gotta check it out! Thanks for the demos, you’re awsome!
my neighbors hate loving my pro junior
My wife has divorce papers ready for the day that I crank my vox AC15 past 5. Lol
the VOX AC15 might be the best amp. no wonder The Beatles plaid with VOX..how much i want this but they are expensive..Good luck with your marriage. and pls take care your wife and be nice to her.
Does she keep your balls in a mayonnaise jar behind the wing nuts also?
vive la musique !
In fairness, the BJ is exactly the same. 15W of focused RMS is waaay louder than people expect.
My wife is trying to convince me to buy fractal axe fx - fm3 when it arrives to market, but I'm scared to leave my tube amp. It's heavily modified by me peavey classic 30. I use volume 2-3. 5 resonates everywhere.
Sorry but i have met this guy and he is totally awesome (I know I hate that word too). Such a nice accommodating and really friendly chap.
I do not play guitar but you sure make a guy want to. Always great videos and so well hosted by Dagan, quite a talented and likable guy. Thanks for sharing.
I love my Blackstar HT-1R. For home use - practicing/jamming it’s incredible.
The Vox's were head and shoulders above all the others; I'm especially surprised at how great the AC4TV sounded for it's size.
Possessive and plural are not the same.
@@Pe6ek I know that, but if I wrote Voxes, someone would have complained about that as well. No win situation.
@@Pe6ek ok english teacher
Barracuda sounded amazing on the Marshall. I think I need this amp in my life
You rock! Such a great job demo here. You sold me on every single one. I really wish I saw this before I bought my practice amp. I would take the Fender tweed.
Where is the Fender Princeton Reverb? Bought one a week ago, and the clean is perfect and works perfect with every pedal. IT Even works at small/medium gigs
Crank the pro jr at home like he suggests and have the police at your door in seconds
Funny you said this because you hear a siren in the back ground on the fender blues JR tweed. maybe the cops were on their way because he's to loud :)
jimorocks
The siren was going off in the video when I read that comment too. lol
You know I have some old peaveys and I don't really like me playing them loud much, like loud music just not mine I guess but I often crank it up to see what happens and in my neighborhood in Texas it's almost like they encourage it....
Cameron Crane lol im in texas also if im playing loud ill almost always get somebody from the neighborhood saying hey man thats awesome wanna jam?
WarmothGuitarist yeah!!!
Thanks, great information for a beginner. Much appreciated.
Thank you for this review, I bought the Fender limited edition blues junior in lacquered tweed today and its a great little amp ,I'am very happy. Thank you
That fish tank story was oddly specific...something tells me he has some experience with that. Anyway thanks for this informative video Dagan!
Great job man! Ty for the great demos
These are such fun and informative videos👍
Great Video! One Optional Addition: literally any modern ENGL amp, they have a very clean power amp that has high headroom, and the preamp is making the sound without relying of the power tubes to distort, so it sounds absolutely great on low volume. i play my Powerball 2 100W Head at home volume (without an attenuator) and it sounds epic. If i plug it to my Captor X and crank the master volume it doesn't change the tone much, it even gets a bit muddy at high (4 o'clock+) Mastervolume without a tube screamer or some EQ. They also are very versatile (not just hi-gain metal tones), take pedals super well and are powerful enough for literally any Situation.

great channel,,,wish I had this when I started out over 35 years ago,,,some real good advise on here and funny as well....good job !!!!!
The Ac4 also has a speaker out jack.
It sounds great driving a 12.
Blackstar ht1r is absolutely great sounding, and one watt is still enough to annoy the neighbours if it's cranked, but you don't need to do this to get a great sound clean or driven. Matt the riff master does a good demo on it.
Great fun video. Relaxing. I thought I 'needed' a Vox as my first tube amp.but now I'm not so sure. Will probably be the AC10 but will check out the Fender Tweed and also the EVH Lunch box. Thanks again, Paul in turmoil
I love the reviews. You, Dagan, are stupidly funny and entertaining. Rock on
Fender Blues Junior for me all the way 👌🎸
25:49 That sound that we all know and love! I want an EVH 5150.
That's a LOT of feedback though. Buzz buzz buzz.
@@DizzyDez613 It's a strat, what do you expect?
@@itscorvid358 Lol 😆

I love my Blackstar amps. But that black Vox was sweet.
The 5150... DAMMMM !!!
That blew my mind. The cleans are great and the gain goes from a nice breakup to crazy distortion. I really like it !!
a guitarist came to record some guitar and brought his 7ender amp its the same as the one you had and i can vouch that it sounded great
been a long time since I heard anyone playing "James Gang" !
If you crank a 15W valva amplifier in your apartment you'll blow your head off lol
Bugera has a 5 watt 2 tube amp with reverb and a .1W/1W/5W switch
The Blues Jr is pretty loud too.
I had a Blues Jr in 2000-2002. I made a couple performance mods.
The Bugera was $199 at Guitar Center recently. That is my practice amp when I don’t feel like lugging my HRD.
Or get evicted lol
SO THAT'S WHY THE COPS CAME WHEN I GOT MY 40 WATT AND DIDN'T KNOW THE CONTROLS YET
Damn right. The evh lbx will set off car alarms. Loudest baby tuber by far. And killer tone straight from the axe. No boost needed
fr this shit is always such crap, maybe a tube amp with a 1 watt mode even 5 can be a lot. I have an OR15 that I can never use on the 15 watt setting and cant get past 2 notches up on the 7 watt setting. The thing will shake windows still.
I have that voxac4tv, mine is handwired, so a little more headroom. But! That little amp is perfect for some quick demo work, even home recording, practice time, and light gigging. Great amp!!!
I had a Blues Jr many years ago. First thing I did was replace the tubes with NOS RCA Black Plate and Mullard tubes. I also preferred the reverb from my Line 6 Verbzilla to the stock unit. And a tube screamer in front of it since I couldn't play at full volume and keep my lodgings. I swapped in a Celestion Blue speaker. Wonderful tone.
