No, He washed feet like a slave, like a slave he owned nothing, and died the death of a rebel slave.
He proclaimed that the mourners, the poor spirit, the meek, those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, the merciful, the peacemakers, would be fulfilled, inherit the earth, blessed, see God.
And for this, God called Him My Beloved Son.
If you want to use people as slaves, if you take pleasure in torture and place money over life, go ahead.
But to be Christian, is to know that the world is judged and not forgotten.

Property is not private property. Possession also does not automatically mean full control ownership. Possession vs ownership. Not the same at all. Private property is a western concept not the eastern mindset. Ask any Native American right? The tribe was on the land and used it. Same with lev25. God said go in and take the land as a possession. They don’t own the land and they don’t own these Gentiles either. Many stipulations and laws over the land. They were kicked off the how many times? Brought back only for God’s name sake alone nothing to do with them. Bumper crop on the seventh? Too bad let it fall. Someone owes you debt on the 49th year? Too bad release it. Yeah, this wasn’t ownership not private property. It’s like you finance a car..you drive off the lot, yes it’s your property but by possession alone. The bank owns the thing and can REpossess it if delinquent. Possession is nine tenths of the law. That’s saying the one in possession is not automatically the owner.
And plus...the Christian knows how incompatible it is that God is the slave master and the Redeemer at the same time. It doesn’t work. Debt debt debt all throughout scripture. Christ paid the price for all in bondage.. debt bondage.. and set them free physically and spiritually. God in lev25 is buying the slave to set free Deut 29.10-15.

If the bond servant was covenanted..Hebrew or covenanted Gentile (Deut 29.10-15) then they simply worked off their 6 years and let with a full grant to start anew. The wife worked her six years off (Jer34&deut15.12) and she left the same way...with full grant.
You have to understand, they were literally on loan FROM GOD to whomever. If covenanted, they were God’s servants and available for edification for six years...just as the land. Read Jeremiah 34 for what happened to the Hebrews when they failed to keep that direct command by God. The pressure was on the Hebrews..no oppression of a slave. The Hebrews were commanded to treat all humanity as equals....rich or bond servant poor...or else! It was God’s name at stake, as it says.

      BS.
The intent is: God buys the slave...to turn them loose. You have to buy them first, or it’s an illegal transaction, illegitimate. God’s the Hero here. Lev25.44-46 God buys the captive through His covenant partner the Hebrews. Deut 29.10-15 is God setting them free.
And before you claim to know better..remember it is Christ that paid the price for all in bondage.. debt bondage..and set them all free, physically and spiritually. God or Christ was given to the Gentiles, the world...not to the Jews. Through the Jews. The Gentiles in bondage are the intent! Lol
You need to understand the title friend. The book is called COVENANT or marriage partnership with God. It’s a marriage proposal. God is offering us covenant partnership and covenant blessings etc, authority etc as Himself. Your wife has the exact authority and blessings and rights as you do..because it’s a covenant partnership you are in.
Ephesians says...Jesus led captivity captive. God buys the slave ( already enslaved by the devil)...to set them utterly free. His yoke is easy, His burden light.

Great work overall, but kinda weak on lev25.44-46 & Ex21.21...the typical go-to verses antitheists cling to.
Lev25.44-46 does not say OWN or denote ownership. Property is not private property and not possession full control. You finance a car... it’s your property but by possession only. The bank owns the thing and can REpossess it if delinquent. Possession is nine tenths of the law...meaning the one in possession is not automatically the owner.
God said go in and take the land as a possession. They don’t own the land and they don’t own these Gentiles. Property is a western concept...not the eastern mindset at all. Ask any Native American...you do not own the land, full control legal right. The tribes are on it and use it only, very limited control. The Bible bet is an eastern book!
Psalm2.8 coincides with lev25.44-46 as it does all the other passages going after the heathen and Gentiles like Isaiah 54. It’s NOT ownership and control God is after but freedom. Christ paid the price for all in bondage.. debt bondage.. and set them free physically and spiritually. God in lev25 is buying the slave to set free Deut 29.10-15. He’s the Hero here. Christ given to the world IS God given to the Gentiles. It’s always been the intent.
Indentured servants were bought, sold, traded and inherited too. That’s just the fact of history as these were skilled labor. It just makes sense. You MAY buy Hebrews in Ex.21.2 is indentured..so when it says you MAY buy Gentiles in lev25 and CAN bequeath permanently is does not automatically have to be full controlled slavery. If it’s debt debt debt then it’s voluntary choice and indentured servitude as well. God is not the slave master and the Redeemer at the same time. That’s ridiculous.
    Ex21.21
Exo 21:21 - Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
    ..
That colon (:) means two independent clauses separated for explanation purposes. The one on the left is explained by the one on the right...no punishment = no monetary fines.
Back up two verses to find out what the ‘no punishment’ is referring to. Ex21.18&19 deal with the non servant assaulted by an apostate Hebrew. The Hebrew has to pay all medical, room and board, and any lost wages til thoroughly healed it says. Verses 20&21 deal with the servant this time. The apostate Hebrew assaulting a servant has ‘no punishment’ no monetary fines...because he’s already paying all medical, room and board, and any lost wages are his. He’s his money it says, investment. Kjv. Exodus 21 is referencing the avenging laws...death for death or blemish for blemish and everything in between it says, lev24.17-22. And yes...it says any human is protected by these laws. Lev19.34 confirms the Gentile bond servant is definitely included. Pay back in equal...PLUS they are redeemed of all debt and sent home. There’s no license to beat anyone.
And they wait two days to eliminate capital offense. It’s exactly as we do today...wait til they recover IF they recover to impose severity of assault. Corporal punishment ie the avenging laws lev24.17-22

@@korbendallas5318 It's not really defending slavery is it? Its excepting that slavery happened under the Old Covenant whether we like it or not. One thing that people refuse to understand is that we are under the New Covenant not the Old Covenant, which was explicitly for the nation of Israel yet that’s were people keep running to in order to reject God. Secondly, Jesus Christ today is our pattern of conduct for all mankind who came to earth at a time when slavery was prominent and yet He never used war as a way of means to get His message across, never had a captive, never traded a captive, never sold a captive and “came to set the captives free” (Luke 4:18).
Jesus Christ taught mankind to love one another and to love our neighbours as we love ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39); (Mark 12:30-31). Now, as a neighbour would I want to be taken as a slave? No. If I don’t want to be a slave should I take a slave? No. If I was a slave, I’d want to be set free so if I own a slave, what do I do? I set them free! So, Christ teaches a maxim that leads to the abolishment of slavery. So, even when Christians do bad things there is a distinction between what people do and what their religion teaches. The difference is, Christ is our example of morality for today; the pattern of conduct for all mankind. There are many Christians not walking in light of Jesus.
We see that the teachings of Christ had affected the apostle Paul who wrote a letter to Philemon (Philemon 1:8-18). There was a man named Philemon who had converted to Christianity at some point upon hearing the preaching of the Apostle Paul. Philemon some time down the road had a slave named, Onesimus. Onesimus had stolen some merchandise in order to run away and sustain himself. He makes it to the city of Rome and somehow manages to meet the Apostle Paul who is locked up in a prison that allows visitors. Paul tells him, look your not going to be on the run your whole life, you can't sustain yourself so we’ll deal with this. So, Paul sends Onesimus back to Philemon, who highly respects Paul, with a letter appealing to Philemon on the basis of love. Paul explains that while he was in chains, he now sees Onesimus as if he were his own son and tells Philemon that whatever he owes you put that on me and when I’m out I’ll repay you Onesimus’ debt that he can’t pay. Don’t see him as your run away slave but see him as if he were me; as if he was the Apostle Paul himself.
Your disgust for God's decision to permit slavery under the Old Covenant doesn't negate the existence of God. You understandably dislike something God has chosen to allow at one point in time and you can't comprehend why God would do such a thing. But because you think God is bad and your only frame of reference is your experience in the limited temporal finite creation you couldn't possibly see how God can and does sometimes use the work of the enemy in our lives to bring about His purpose, to accomplish His will and to get our attention. There's many things I don't fully comprehend but I don't claim to have Him figured out.

@@megan1445 "From them you may buy slaves." - It's explicitly allowing it, and has rules regulating it.
We can also assume that murder and coveting happened whether we like it or not. Why are they simply forbidden, while slavery is not?
The New Testament never prohibits slavery. Paul asks slaves to be obedient "in sincerity of heart", and asks slave owners *not* to free their slaves but to treat them fairly. This is simply a factual error: The only fair treatment a slave master can offer a slave is his immediate liberation. Nothing else will do.
My disgust for slavery is not about the existence of God, but about the rules attributed to him. Almost unversally, these rules are thought to be the best moral law possible, slavery included. Imagine I would propose an identical set of rules, with only one change: Slavery would be prohibited. Why would the Bible's rule set (allowing slavery) be better?
So I asked two questions: 1) Why is slavery regulated, when murder is not? 2) Why would the prohibition of slavery not be an improvement of Biblical rules? I'm awaiting your response.
