    I just started going to a Messianic Synagogue in June 2019 after someone on YT taught a message on The 10 Commandments. He said God didn't say best 9 out of 10, and that was like a stab in the heart. For a year I was attending the first Synagogue that I visited. It really wasn't that much different from my Christian Church experience. Nobody ever wore a tzitzit. They didnt display the Torah. They didn't read all the prayers, etc. ect. ect. Now for the last 3 months I've been at a Synagogue that does all of that and so much more... I love it!

      That’s wonderful. But I wonder if the strings they wear are blue and white, or just blue.
      We were told, the strings are to be blue. Blue. We are told not to add to or subtract from the Scriptures.
      I make my own. tzit tzit as I couldn’t find any to purchase that didn’t have the traditions of men white strings.

      @@seekingGODs-YHWHsTruth144K I’m so conflicted. I’m not a scholar or an expert in Hebrew or Greek but I read psalms a lot and I believe there are a ton of prophecies that yeshua fulfilled and I believe there are other verses that when read seem to indicate more prophecies of things that weren’t interpreted.. I’m not interpreting them but there are tons of verses that talk about the proud and the heritage being defiled and things like that sort that seem to me are bluntly talking about early Christianity not the first few hundred of years where research shows they kept their “Jewish roots” but the years around Constantine. Also “the way” is mentioned a lot in psalms and Paul said he was of the way. Am I misunderstanding some things?

    I've been making my own tzitziyot, as well as for my grandchildren for a few years. Scripture doesn't tell us they're not for all of Yah's people, nor did Yah give an expiration date for them. Throughout the generations....
    FYI, to conjugate the word tzitzit in Hebrew, we can't just anglicize it and put an "s" on the end. Plural is tzitziyot. ;)

      @YaakovBuchner Рік тому

      @@jk7197 No, we're not grafted into Israel! Israel is a nation, a people, elected by God to be His beloved, and ultimately to bring Him glory through their future redemption. The Mosaic Covenant was made 'Exclusively with them'. Tzitzit was a symbolic image of that Covenant. A Covenant that was broken as Jeremiah states in Jer. 31:31, and that no one today is under. If you belong to Christ, you belong to the Covenant made with Abraham. One of faith, not works and man-made traditions. The Apostles go to great lengths regarding this perception, as I imagine you're aware of based on your comment, but one that is missed and redefined by those who call themselves "Torah observant". As a Jew, I call them "Stolen Valor".

    • @RealDefinitionsMatter
      @RealDefinitionsMatter Рік тому +1

      Hi! I’m sure nobody will convince you, but I wanted to point out that salvation a has ALWAYS been through faith! Abraham was obedient to the commands of God directly, by his faith. The Torah was given by God to be set-apart. The New Covenant in Jeremiah and Hebrews also says “Instead, this is the covenant I will make with the HOUSE OF ISRAEL (not house of gentile) after those days” - the Lord’s declaration. “I will PUT MY TEACHING WITHIN THEM and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will one teach his neighbor....” Are we still teaching people? Partial fulfillment?
      The desire in are hearts is what has changed, not the Law! It went from written to within us. If your desire isn’t for God’s Law I strong encourage you to examine your faith through prayer, laying down precepts of men.

    Hey guys!
    I have a question for you. I hope this isn't a dumb question. So, I completely agree with people wearing tassels. It was a commandment given to his people that we should continue throughout all generations. However, I had a question about the color of the tassels. I found information on the threaded color actually being a violet (purple) instead of blue. My dad also taught me that purple was a color royal kings wore back in that time period. I could be off but I wanted to hear your thoughts?
    I found this information when looking up the strongs number in blue letter bible for the verse in Numbers 15:38 where it talks about the color of the thread in the tassels. The strongs number was H8504. The description stated this...
    "I. violet, violet stuff
    A. violet thread
    B. violet stuff or fabric
    II. (TWOT) blue (covering spectrum from brilliant red through deep purple)"
    Just let me know! I just want to make sure I get this right before doing this. You guys are one of the few that I look up to when it comes to knowledge and opinions involving biblical stuff. Thanks!

    I would encourage others to really look into the word Tekhelet which is translated simply to blue in Numbers 15:38. There's a good possibility that a general blue is not what was used and that Tekhelet translates into an actual shade of blue rather than just a general blue. There is strong evidence for this (imho) including a fragment that was found and tested. A few Google searches will get you started. Of course, it could be wrong but the evidence is convincing to me. Tzitzit with this exact dye is sold online so it's worth a look.

Even the prophets speak of the fulfillment thereof , fulfillment proven by Elyon Almighty One's own Law, is something being abolished then when you have no tassels seen by men? Walk out the fulfillment not foreshadow, or is somenone on two roads at the same time. The road of Spirit and flesh at same time? Do you know why tassels on border garment points to commandments? Tassel, border, Remembrance?

  • @phyllisford2130
    @phyllisford2130 10 місяців тому

    As I understand it, the Jewish argument against using just any blue is that the scripture does not say a "blue" thread or Kakhol thread, it says a tekhelet thread and so a blue thread made with a different dye would not be tekhelet and therefore not in line with the commandment.
    As a Christian who thinks thinks one of Christ's central teachings is that you should have a less legalistic reading of the Torah, as in Mark 2:27, I disagree, but it's a solid argument if you take that approach, that the laws of the Torah must be followed to the literal word.

Likewise, when people light a lamp, they don’t cover it with a bowl but put it on a lampstand, so that it shines for everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they may see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven. “Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah - not until everything that must happen has happened. So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness is far greater than that of the Torah-teachers and P’rushim, you will certainly not enter the Kingdom of Heaven!”

    Question... I know that many Christians would say that the reason they don't wear Tzitzit, is because they belong to the new covenant (Jer. 31:31) and that they have the Holy Spirit to remind them to follow the commandments. From what I can tell, the view of Messianic/Hebrew Roots/etc. , is that Yeshua Himself wore them and had the Spirit, as did the prophets, so we should as well. My question...Being that the new covenant came into effect upon the fulfillment upon the cross, naturally to be in fulfillment of the law, Yeshua would have worn tzitzit prior to the fulfillment. "For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished". . But what is the argument that one has to wear them today since the law and prophets were fulfilled? I do understand that some believe that the statement regarding the fulfillment means something different to some believers, then completed/fulfilled, accomplished, which is what the word means in Greek and Hebrew. That to some this means He (Yeshua) meant He wasn't ending the old covenant but fulfilling its requirements. However, does this mean that those who attest to this, believe they also have to eternally hate Caananites, Ammonites, Philistines, Babylonians, Assyrians (basically their descendants). Or that no one is allowed to live in Egypt? That we are to snap the neck of a heifer if theirs an unsolved murder in their town? Need to send women away during their menstrual cycle? Kill mystics and other commands found in the Torah. Clearly, not all the law is still in effect, as it would be impossible to love your neighbor while holding an eternal grudge against them. I'm trying to find good info on why we need to wear tzitzit today. Thank you

    Wearing tzitits requires you to believe that YAHOVAH is God alone. Believing that a man or messiah is God is idolatry.
    Exo 20:2 I am YHWH thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
    Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
    Torah never tells us to worship, believe in or follow the commandments of a man. We/ you are commanded to follow the commandments of YAHOVAH and are reminded of our obedience to worship His name alone as we wear the tzitzit. Worshiping any other name as God is again idolatry. Torah commands us to NOT worship other gods but this is what you are teaching and it is contradictory to Gods commandment.
    Have you noticed that in the new twistament jesus never teaches others to wear tzitzit?

      Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law but to fulfill it (Matt 5:17). Christ still observed feasts and followed the law of Moses, as seen throughout the entire New Testament. If Jesus follows the law, and we are trying to be more like Him, shouldn’t we? Following the law is not the root of our salvation, but the fruit of our salvation. It allows us to connect on a deeper level to God by being obedient to what He commands. In Matt 5:8 it says until the heaven and earth pass away, not a jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law until all has been fulfilled. Jesus hasn’t come back yet and the heaven and earth haven’t passed away, so these laws still remain. Ultimately, you’re saved by grace through faith, confessing that Jesus is Lord but as Christians shouldn’t we always be striving to get to know Him better and be more like Him to serve others well through His word? Great fruit is produced from these laws, and I encourage you to consider that. All love friend, may God bless you.

      Also, can I ask why you’re so resistant to the laws? God placed them to set the Israelites apart from the other nations and to make sure that they were safe. As Christians we are called to be set apart, which is a beautiful thing. If people follow these as Christians, why does that bother you?
