The worst Spider-Man game is Spider-Man 3 for PS3 and Xbox 360. TASM2 Game isn't good but I'd rather replay this game 2 times over than to ever touch the Spidey 3 game. Edit: Man after watching this video, I have a question. Why did I originally like this game when it came out? I guess because I was younger and was still on a Spider-Man high after the second TASM came out and I wanted this game as a birthday gift. I realize now that this game makes me wanna play Web of Shadows and Edge of Time instead. And I don't like either of those games(Web of Shadows has more bright spots tho), but they are better Spidey gaming experiences than this ever was.
Agreed. It's the most Spider-Man of the live action films. Spider-Verse is the best IMO, but live action goes to TASM 2. It's the closest to comic Spidey we've ever gotten in live action.
Tom Holland's spider man is like that 1 intern who always gets the extra task left out by his boss(Tony Stark),in homecoming it was OK but the over dependence of tom's villains being influenced by Tony really felt forced, like just because mysterio hates tony stark, peter got a villain, even in no way home his villains are nostalgia based,MCU spider man doesn't have a single emotional connection with any villain unlike other spider man which makes it a bit bland imo.
@@AntsTheaterCorner2698 yikes TASM 2 is still the most dog trash spidey film of THEM all, just because it's comic accurate doesn't mean the writing is decent. Say what you want to say about Mad Max Furorisa, like it doesnt have the same level of visual appeal as its predecessor, BUT it is nevertheless a well-written movie, therefore it's a good film even though its flopped at the box office.if you goes by your low ass standards of watching film based on comic accuracy then "Let There Be Carnage" is a masterwork at that; everything about it is comic accurate. It's an incredible feat to adapt Spider-Man stories without Spider-Man and make them work.
Still can't believe that the first Spider-Man game I played just became 10 years old now. I was 5 when I played it now that I'm becoming 15, it makes me wanna go back to play it again
It's kind of crazy how much the insomniac games took from this one, but just made everything better. Like it reuses a lot of the same mechanics as this one like swinging people to an ambulance and car chase stopping. It just makes it all 100% better. 😅😅
I too have the same soft spot for this and TASM1, cus I couldn't/still can't afford a PS4 growing up so I played this and TASM1 so much on my Xbox 360 Maybe include Ultimate Spider-Man on PS2 as well
I think is hilarious how they adapt perfectly the way the first film is REALISTIC and all the villains from the 1° game are hybrid animals And then this game is exactly the opposite just like the 2nd movie 😂😂😂
To this day, it’s the only spider-man game I haven’t platinum’d whether it be on ps3 or ps4. I’ve been tempted to purchase it solely to platinum it and keep my streak, but it’s so damn grindy that I don’t know if I can bring myself to do it.
Getting the suits to max level was the most painful trophy, it took so many hours. Collecting the comic books was extremely boring but they're not that hard to find as they show up as white dots on the map.
Fun fact, this game was preparing the 3rd game with the Sinister Six formed by: Vulture,Hobglobin or Green Globin/Harry,Rhino,Doctor Octopus,Sandman and Mysterio Being led by the Chameleon and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and there are villains who were arrested by police officer Jeandewolf and they exist in this universe are they: The Hood,The Rose,The Enforcers and Big Man/Crime Master and a curiosity about the two games: It was for the Wolf-Man,Morbius,Doctor Octopus,Vulture and Kraven It was for him appear In the first game and Kraven would hunt all those creatures that we fight that are classic villains in this game but they are hideous horror creatures even so this idea went into the second game in Kraven's mansion but with few villains In the game the amazing Spiderman 2 Morbius and his gang of vampires would appear but were deleted Several others villains exist in this universe that have not yet been shown as: Wolf-Man,Morbius,Hydro-Man and The Hammerhead vs Mister Negative the Gang War that Shocker says in one of the lines that they hate each other and are trying to kill each other and finally the Venom being the final boss of the 3rd game alongside the Sinister Six Based on Andrew Garfield's Movies from an alternate universe Being the end of the game trilogy With Venom alongside several villains That exist in this universe and were not placed and used yet.. They left it for a sequel that will never happen.. To close this Saga unfortunately very sad.. Who knew that? and wanted All these things and one more game? 🤔🥺😭😔🤧 like and Bye!
This game was my childhood,i decided to replay it last year since i still had the physical media and i was extremely disappointed on how i liked this as a child.
I loved the game since I was playing it on the WiiU when I was a kid, I still have the game, spiderman 3 and web of shadows. Personally out of the three Web of Shadows was my favorite.
The first TASM game lives in my head rent free. I loved the camera, and the hollering while swinging made me really happy in a sense, sometimes I did holler with Spidey. I enjoyed swinging around New York. Hopefully the newer games will implement some hollering, even as an optional thing.
As a new content creator, it's a genuine question. Do you not need to credit the music you use in your videos ? Such as the very common use of Persona 5's ost in your videos ? Also great vid.
When I was a kid i loved TASM2 movie, cried when Gwen died and I have enjoyed a LOT playing TASM2 game. IMO It's one of the greatiest Spidey games ever made. Still like it and don't understand such criticism. #MakeTASM3
I actually liked this game when I played it cause it was the newest Spider-Man game at the time. Also the fact I couldn't really play TASM1 because my PC couldn't handle it or the game would crash after the first giant spider boss fight. I still never finished it. It was surprising to me how well TASM2 ran. I guess the graphical downgrade was worth it when you consider that. Game-wise I still had fun with it but I don't think I considered it better than Web of Shadows or even Spider-Man 3 which I also loved.
The web swinging in tasm 2 was great and took skill. You could feel the speed and momentum. Insomniac took the good ideas from this one and put it in theirs. That's smart. The singing is the best though having to use both triggers added more depth
probably an unpopular opinion but i highly disagree that Tasm 2 is the worst spider man movie. Andrews Spider man actually feels like spider man in terms of his quips and humor, imo far from home is the worst one. also the Mcu spider-man has some of the worst action and visuals of any spider-man movie
also im not saying that the writing isnt dog shit in tasm 2 because it is and the script is terrible but to me the movie was enjoyable simply because of the swinging, action and humor also that ending was one of the most brutal, tragic and emotional things ive witnessed from a spider-man movie, and for what andrew was given he had an amazing performance even with the shitty script. but Tom Hollands spider-man has virtually no swinging and boring action and you feel disconnected from the movie the entire time and its hard to get immersed when flash randomly pops up and acts like the biggest douche bag when he himself is a loser, at least in tasm flash acts like a real human, mcu flash is just in the movies way more than he needs to be. and not to hate on tom Holland but he just takes me out of all the emotional scenes, for aunt mays death i lowkey laughed because of how shit his acting was in that scene
@@ConstantAce agreed brother. TASM 2 is only missing a good plot but everything else is good and also remove Rhino and save Green Goblin for the future. It's flawed but the good outweighs the bad. Tom Holland's overrated, his only best one is No Way Home.
@@Shahriyararin63It's a classic Spider-Man story that uses multiple characters and plot threads as a jumping point for its aesthetic. The film basically has this borrowed approach, in this case borrowing from multiple Spider-Man comics. It's like multiple comics put together in one film. Not everyone's Spider-Man, but it's the style of storytelling it was clearly going for.
Even tho tasm2 game was mid it did randomly have amazing moments to it that insomniac spm doesn’t even have. Being able to sling shot WHILE web swinging ( like spm 2 PS2) was cool, using the left and right triggers to web swing was cool, having a combat arena (even tho it was pretty basic but I wish spm2 PS5 had a combat arena), some crimes like burning buildings and car chases are better than the ones in spm2 ps5. Otherwise tho it’s still mid at best.
I liked that game, not love, but liked. I think I liked it more than TASM1. The thing that pushed me over the egde and made me delete the game was the hero-menace system. Sometimes I just wanted to swing around and I couldn't because that task force or whatever it is would chase me around, unless I do the repetitive crime activities. I remember even searching for mods that would turn this off.
ok hold on I actually really loved TASM 2 the movie, I hate the first one, I understand it wasn't paced very well but it was very fun to watch on top of that its still the best live action spiderman suit to date imo
I always liked that left and right hand swing was on the triggers shame insomniac didn’t bring this one over. I think this game has the best web swinging after Spiderman 2.
While this game doesn't hold up to Insomniac's games, I can't help but feel nostalgic for TASM 2. I remember being excited for this game and its large variety of suits (the TASM Vigilante suit is one of my favorite homemade suits too). I even pre-ordered the game at Gamestop to get the pre-order suits. I thought the idea of having the left and right trigger being used for web slinging was awesome, and the idea of the crimes system felt awesome. And that soundtrack is so freaking nostalgic I don't know why. It sounds kind of like the soundtrack for Bully. Unfortunately, the crime system became too much when you got punished for not wanting to do a crime or not getting there in time. I also felt the graphics took a hit and thought it was weird how the TASM 1 suit looked more detailed and realistic than the TASM 2 suit. I was also annoyed that they didn't go the first TASM game's route of taking place after the movie, so that the story isn't a 1 for 1 adaptation of the movie and it's own original story.
i loved playing this game, it was fun, yes the reputation thing in spiderman is annoying but playing the game and using the cosmetics and doing story was so fun.
The Game doesn't actually have You stick to the Building swhen swinging. The Game just checks to see If You are at a certain height below the Buildings. If You go to Central Park and swing, You will see that the Webs don't attach to any of the Trees. The Swinging also lacks any kind of Physics because as soon as You stop swinging, Spider-Man will fall like Spider-Rock. While the first Amazing Spider-Man Game tried to tell Its own Story, this Game was forced to follow along the really mediocre Movie and, If I recall, Beenox weren't supposed to giveaway the Ending that Gwen had died so She wasn't allowed to appear like with what happened with the previous Game mentioning Captain Stacey's death at the end of the first Amazing Spider-Man Movie.
I've been playing through the PC version on my Steam Deck and it's not that bad. The only real issues are the bugs and the hero/menace system. The rest is just mediocre or the few high points. The swinging isn't amazing but is a unique and fun system regardless. And it looks great on the smaller screen with the graphics cranked and still runs at a locked 30 fps (60 only works with Vsync turned off, but it was 30 fps on Xbox 360 so I don't care tbh). I main the Edge of time suit, a texture mod for the Miles suit, that looks absolutely amazing
This game was a mixed bag for me back when I played it during its release. I enjoyed touching on Uncle Ben's killer again, the attempted ambiguous take on Carnage, the suits, the suit buffs, the combat, the RPG-esque conversations, Kraven's mentor-mentee relationship with Spidey (as well as the big game hunter's later betrayal), the new web-swinging mechanics where the triggers are mapped to Spidey's hands, and the more personal connection to Peter that the game tries to facilitate through his segments where you can just go around, getting his comments on things and talking to others. I didn't like the sidequests that you mentioned not liking either, how Carnage wasn't the main focus despite being more interesting and fun to see on screen, how the RPG-like conversations didn't really add much to the game or the story, how Kraven felt so disconnected from the rest of the plot, how the new web-swinging mechanics didn't look as fun or feel as good as they could have been, how Peter's sections weren't executed to their full potential, there were waaaaay too many villains (which is saying something when the movie was bloated with 2 while the game had, IIRC, FIVE villains struggling over the spotlight) or the reputation system. While the rep system was a neat idea, I felt like it was too punishing when you fully maxed it out, and the fact that the story missions (from what I can recall) affected it was quite irritating, since you couldn't make decisions to raise it during missions; if the mission wanted you to be a bad guy, you were a bad guy when you finished it, which would negate a lot of work to slowly undo that rep damage, and even then it was still going down every second. That damn rep system made me never want to replay the game after I beat it the first time, which is a shame since I still go back and replay TASM 1 to this day and consider it be my favorite Spider-Man game alongside Spider-Man PS4. Additionally, the rep system just made the open world tedious to the point of being stressful, as I was always being sidetracked with stopping crime to make sure I wasn't being hunted, and it got to the point where I stopped having fun and actively stopped doing side content altogether to just zip from one mission to the next, as I hated seeing that damn bar go down. All in all, good idea but awful, abysmal, astoundingly terrible execution. While you liked it somewhat, I ended up hating it and it's the sole reason I returned my copy of the game after beating it and haven't got a new one since. With all that being said, this just makes me appreciate Spider-Man PS4 more, as it fixed a lot of these issues while expanding upon what I liked about TASM 1. Peter's segments are interesting and fun (though dialogue options weren't brought back, which is fair as I'd only want them in a Spider-Man RPG game... but that's never gonna happen lol), swinging and combat are better, the story is great, the side content is... bearable, and all the villains are amazing.
I remember really wanting this game as a kid. But I had a Xbox One, and it did not play nice with my other 360 games. But ever since the start of Insomniac, especially in Spider-Man 2(mainly because of traversal) I realized how bad the TASM 2 tie in game was.
I remember my lil bro getting this game and being so excited to play it, he even finished it in a couple days. This was one of the few games I couldn’t finish. Something bout the web swinging really irked me and I couldn’t bother after a few hours lol
This is hands down the worst Spider-Man game I have ever played. The Hero/Menace system is so horrifyingly bad that it overshadows anything good about this game. On paper it is not a bad idea, BUT the way it is implemented is just awful. It doesn't really become a nightmare until those soldier guys come into the picture. You have to respond to alerts and complete them successfully in order to keep your hero meter up. However, the alerts pop up so frequently and go away so quickly that you really have to devote all your time to keep it up and even then it is hard to keep up with all the alerts. There is a suit that helps with hero meter gain, but one thing I don't want out of my Spider-Man game is to be forced to wear a particular suit because the Hero/Menace mechanic hates when you do things like try to have fun. God forbid I just want to swing through New York without being harassed.
I would love to see a video on "X2 Wolverines Revenge." I feel like im the only person I knew who played it, but it was such a unique wolverine experience. Especially in the ps2 era.
Hey Aqua, it would be awesome if you made a video on the Peter Jackson's King Kong game that came out for the ps2. It was a great game and frankly to this day, its still one of the best movie adaptaions into a game that ever came out :)
I remember, when i was younger, being confused how people thought older games had looked good at the time. Now? I remember this game looking a loooooot better than it actually does. Im getting that from a lot of early-mid 8th gen games. Pain. Im getting old.
I don’t think you’re giving this game enough credit for how big of an achievement it was to have webs actually stick to the buildings you’re swinging from instead of in the air. Plus the web - dash mechanic hadn’t been used until this game.
The amazing Spider-Man 2 and Spider-man 3 were my childhood Spiderman games and i replay to this day. 3 iv never liked as a kud cause i always died due to a massive skill issue, but tasm 2 was my favourite spider-man game and i enjoy it to this day despite its many faults
This was the second Spider-Man game I ever played, and the only one I had for a while on Xbox. I definitely wear rose-colored glasses when looking back on it
When I played Marvel Spiderman 2 and quite frankly it was a better version of The Amazing spiderman 2. While the game was a mess I still really enjoy it
I actually enjoyed the amazing spider man 2. My only real gripe was that the game was too short. My parents bought this for me on release, and I beat within a day. Then again, I played this back when i was eight and didn't understand things why things like FPS and Graphics and how game mechanics are important.
The main thing that gets me is the storyline; the first amazing spierman managed to loosely follow the movie while not heavily relying on it. They created a new story with a new sequence of events that was genuinly engaging. I feel like they really wanted to focus on that aspect of this game too which there isn't enough credit given for it, especially with the museum mission where it builds onto Felicias character from the previous game and even answers the question about Gwen in a way, with spidey considering running away with her and having a love affair. It just sucks that spidey basically gohsts Gwen and Whitney Chang after working so close with them in the last game; maybe a new design team or something? Just food for thought as these games, mind you, are 10+ years old, and without them there would never have been anything to build off of for the latest variations of it. Another underated topic is the voice overs as these seemed kinda revolutionary compared to the low effort versions we were given from the Spiderman trilogy ( minus harrys intense breathing and shockers "huh").

Someone finally shares the same amount of love for the vigilante suit as much as I do. I spent the whole game in that suit when i played on the wii u
I love TASM2 film. Worst Spider-Man film is definitely Far From Home doesn’t even feel like a Spider-Man film imo
same
I didn't want to hate on any of the movies, so spider man lotus came in clutch
Any one else think it’s weird that between the 2 tasm games on console, we got carnage before venom?
One thing this game has going for is an infinite stan lee cameo
6:57 he looks like Asajj Ventress Star wars the clone wars (as soon as I saw the face I immediately saw the similarities)
Still can't believe that the first Spider-Man game I played just became 10 years old now. I was 5 when I played it now that I'm becoming 15, it makes me wanna go back to play it again
Good thing I was able to play this as a kid, despite the flaws, this game still has a place in my heart.
Nothing like going to a marker on your map only to find two dudes posted up in an alley
It's kind of crazy how much the insomniac games took from this one, but just made everything better. Like it reuses a lot of the same mechanics as this one like swinging people to an ambulance and car chase stopping. It just makes it all 100% better. 😅😅
Not this one, they took notes from Web of Shadows, Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time, TASM1.
I still own this game for ps4 and enjoyed it quite a bit when I played it years ago.
I too have the same soft spot for this and TASM1, cus I couldn't/still can't afford a PS4 growing up so I played this and TASM1 so much on my Xbox 360
Maybe include Ultimate Spider-Man on PS2 as well
ngl, i dreamed about playing this game so bad when it first got released and i had like windows xp computer with intel dual core oh man..
This is the first Spider-Man game I’ve ever played because back then this is the only Spider-Man game I could play.
The TASM2 game was the first Spider-Man game I played, and I still love it
For me, the Amazing Spider-Man 2 game and film are still better than the Spider-Man 3 game and film.
how can u say something so right but yet so controversial lol.
The true definition of a sigma 😢
Yeah...no
@@TrumpsLawyerr Yeah.. yes
And how sometimes the soundtrack just got the regular theme in the background for serious moments 😂
i haven’t watched this vid yet but came here to tell you how much i love that you acknowledge listening to these vids to sleep or grind to.
I think is hilarious how they adapt perfectly the way the first film is REALISTIC and all the villains from the 1° game are hybrid animals
And then this game is exactly the opposite just like the 2nd movie 😂😂😂
Movie is still better in every way a solid 7.5 not even the worst spidey movie is truly bad
I am a disproud owner of the dlc and base game of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 on Steam.
Fun fact, this game was preparing the 3rd game with the Sinister Six formed by:
Vulture,Hobglobin or Green Globin/Harry,Rhino,Doctor Octopus,Sandman and Mysterio Being led by the Chameleon and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and there are villains who were arrested by police officer Jeandewolf and they exist in this universe are they:
The Hood,The Rose,The Enforcers and Big Man/Crime Master
and a curiosity about the two games:
It was for the Wolf-Man,Morbius,Doctor Octopus,Vulture and Kraven It was for him appear In the first game and Kraven would hunt all those creatures that we fight that are classic villains in this game but they are hideous horror creatures even so this idea went into the second game in Kraven's mansion but with few villains
In the game the amazing Spiderman 2 Morbius and his gang of vampires would appear but were deleted Several others villains exist in this universe that have not yet been shown as:
Wolf-Man,Morbius,Hydro-Man and The Hammerhead vs Mister Negative the Gang War that Shocker says in one of the lines that they hate each other and are trying to kill each other and finally the Venom being the final boss of the 3rd game alongside the Sinister Six Based on Andrew Garfield's Movies from an alternate universe Being the end of the game trilogy With Venom alongside several villains That exist in this universe and were not placed and used yet..
Oh boy I was waiting on this one lmao
Great vid!
When I was a kid i loved TASM2 movie, cried when Gwen died and I have enjoyed a LOT playing TASM2 game. IMO It's one of the greatiest Spidey games ever made. Still like it and don't understand such criticism. #MakeTASM3
I seem to remember the swinging mechanics were good in this
I actually liked this game when I played it cause it was the newest Spider-Man game at the time.
@@AntsTheaterCorner2698 true but like they should have picked one and not focus too much on teasing the future
@@Shahriyararin63 That's Sony. Good thing Miles Morales will finish his trilogy in what could be the greatest animated film trilogy of all time.
I smacked my phone so fast when I got this notification, woohoo new That Boy Aqua vid!
I remember to avoid that hero and menace system i would just reload a mission and swing around without doing the obj lmao
Agreed, even though SM2 PS5 is goated, TASM 2 also has some finishers and stealth that are better then Insomniac games
Released on 360/ps3 too.
9:52 that was incredibly clean wow
I liked that game, not love, but liked. I think I liked it more than TASM1. The thing that pushed me over the egde and made me delete the game was the hero-menace system. Sometimes I just wanted to swing around and I couldn't because that task force or whatever it is would chase me around, unless I do the repetitive crime activities. I remember even searching for mods that would turn this off.
This was my first spiderman game
ok hold on I actually really loved TASM 2 the movie, I hate the first one, I understand it wasn't paced very well but it was very fun to watch on top of that its still the best live action spiderman suit to date imo
I always liked that left and right hand swing was on the triggers shame insomniac didn’t bring this one over. I think this game has the best web swinging after Spiderman 2.
I remember absolutely LOVING this game
Hearing Aqua saying that the game is hard to finds just reminded me that I have the game downloaded on my old pc for nearly 5 years now!!!
9:51 Sick
Happy 10th Anniversary The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game.
I didn’t even know this game was a thing
Love that Alex webb reference 😂😂😂
Also playable on my Wii U
20:36 had me dead🤣🤣🤣
I remember, when i was younger, being confused how people thought older games had looked good at the time. Now? I remember this game looking a loooooot better than it actually does. Im getting that from a lot of early-mid 8th gen games. Pain. Im getting old.
I don’t think you’re giving this game enough credit for how big of an achievement it was to have webs actually stick to the buildings you’re swinging from instead of in the air. Plus the web - dash mechanic hadn’t been used until this game.
These two games were my childhood, but if I were to choose witch one had a better story and gameplay. It would probably be tasm1.
I still have this game but you know I really like the swing with both triggers
did you know where i can download this
@@mono3265 sorry I have the disc
Amazing Spider-Man 2 was the first Spider-Man game I played, and i wanted more. Which just proves that I love Spider-Man too much
The amazing Spider-Man 2 and Spider-man 3 were my childhood Spiderman games and i replay to this day. 3 iv never liked as a kud cause i always died due to a massive skill issue, but tasm 2 was my favourite spider-man game and i enjoy it to this day despite its many faults
I like this game as a kid I always liked the heavy attacks i did them consistently.
asked and you deliverd love your content bro I'm gonna watch this vid while eating
I have this game for my old xbox this is probably gonna be the only Spider-Man game that’s on Xbox
I appreciated tasm 2 game because it was the only spidey game available until Spider-Man ps4
This was the second Spider-Man game I ever played, and the only one I had for a while on Xbox. I definitely wear rose-colored glasses when looking back on it
I think the reason I loved this game so much was basically because it’s an Arkham Spider Man
I didn't like both game and movie. I even liked amazing spiderman 1 game and movie more
this was my first modern spiderman that i ever played which started my journey to play all of em
This was my first ever Spider-Man game, I loved it and still do
When I played Marvel Spiderman 2 and quite frankly it was a better version of The Amazing spiderman 2.
I loved TASM 1&2, both the games and films
I know they're bad but I love them
The main thing that gets me is the storyline; the first amazing spierman managed to loosely follow the movie while not heavily relying on it.
Sorry for the essay, just had to help this game recover a bit as there's alot of hate that doesn't feel entirely deserved.
