Like you said, Ei's detachment from reality by pursuing "eternity" stems from her traumatic past, loss of everybody she cared about. Her idea of ruling Inazuma is depicted by Yae very perfectly when she said these lines during the Archon Quest Part 3: "Stripped of ambitions, stripped of the potential for change, it does nothing more than simply... exist. It is a hollow shell of a nation." Inazuma's situation really depicts what prolonged war does to a nation. Monstadt and Liyue's present conditions are far better.
@@jenniferchaulam All gods have their own unique ideals. Ei's ideal is 'Eternity'. But now instead of pursuing an eternity of complete stasis for Inazuma, she desires to pursue an eternity of happiness and prosperity for her people.
@@YashRakeshGawade i really like this explanation. Ei is actually a very realistic person and because of that, I really wanted to like her. She might've been a much warmer person before she experienced the loss of her sister and her friends. Her idea of eternity has probably gone through a couple reinterpretations as she experiences lifechanging moments like those. I'm glad the MC and Yae's efforts were able to change her interpretation of it again. There's nothing wrong with pursuing "eternity", maybe just the definition of it at a certain time. We all want good things to last forever, but most of the time that kind of feeling is attached to things that are already gone/regrets. Her idea of eternity was of preservation at the moment because she had lost so much already and after the events of the archon quest, it changed into hope. When someone is in a pessimistic state of mind, they just come off very apathetic and that sort of attitude is very hard to like, especially for players who aren't required to like her. There are plenty of easier-to-like characters like Yoimiya and Thoma. We kind of get the idea that Ei's in a phase though, because we got a glimpse of what she used to be through Yae and she'll definitely climb out of it with some help. Have to say I really like her character arc it's actually one of the more fleshed out ones in Genshin in my opinion.
I couldn’t figure out for the life of me how or why there were so many resistance war banners around the kujou encampment, so thank you for that explanation!! It’s a lot more clear now how the war went before we arrived there
I'd really like a video from you on the history of the old Mondstadt. I think I remember the city was in Stormterror Lair before? I might be wrong, but it sounds like an interesting topic. In fact, all the ruins in Mondstadt seem very interesting to me, from Stormterror Lair to the temple (of the god of time I think?? I'm so bad at this lmao) well, the one where we had to fight an eye of the storm. they all are pretty interesting.
So the traveler (we) played such major role in the story in Inazuma by solving so many issues such as repair of the furnace , stopping the rain and etc, that I couldn't have thought about and brought all the pieces of the story in a single pictorial if I didn't watched this video ! Great video 💯 loved it
It is super nice to have a video compiling all the scattered pieces of information about what happened before we arrived. And its just nice to have you back in general! Aside from the bad pacing, I actually liked the archon quest because in my opinon the archon quest will always be centered around the archon themselves and the nation they watch over. This is why I dont mind the limited screentime on ayaka, sara and kokomi, as they mainly served as the voices of the people of inazuma. Those who loudly oppose, those who disagree and those who are loyal to the Shougunate. They will have their chance to shine in the future, but the archon quest will always be about the relationship between archons and their nation. Venti and Zhongli both prefer to watch from afar. Venti will only come to his people's aid when absolutely necessary, and Zhongli has passed on his main role of protecting Liyue onto the future generation and decides to live among his people. Ei obviously cares about Inazuma, but she is a bit blinded by her own grief and biases. This causes her to allow even more tradgedies to befall her people, even though she is trying to protect them she ends up being the one her people need protection from. Also with how the length of the archon quest are usually formatted, a story as big as a civil war was always going to be unsatisfying especially when they tried to cover multiple aspects of it. World quests help but since they are optional, the base story will always be lacking. If we had even just one additional part to the archon quest I think the pacing issue would be less terrible. All good war stories are often long (and depressing) in nature, especially when it's covering multiple perspectives. But since we only view the story through the traveler's eyes, this archon quest was always going to be lacking in some aspects. I honestly have no idea what Sumeru has in store aside from the debate over freedom of information vs information as a commodity. I just hope it doesn't trigger my research paper writing trauma lol. These sumeru academy students are a bit... not okay. Spending every available moment working on their thesis or research. Yeah... not okay at all.

A lot of people seem to forget that the Archon quests have always focused on the Archons themselves, his/her nation and the Traveler's perspective. The Traveler is not omnipresent and we(as the Traveler) would not be able to see everything that is happening in the background. Sometimes, we have to connect the dots ourselves. Sometimes, we can connect the dots through the world quests. Other times, through side quests. And imo, it is fine that not everything is packed inside the Archon quest.
From my perspective, I think the story was somehow not elaborated because of how deep the meaning is. The more you think about it, the more it gives you a reality check. Most of us cannot relate to prolonging war and catastrophic events as these, but not even a century ago, the world was like this. The idea of who did right and wrong was very vague and it still is. Though we have escaped the clutches of war, there's still possibility we'll be dragged into war again due to corruption and manipulation. These aspects actually apply to real life. It's a shame though, the story quest did no justice to show how important and capable Ei and Kokomi are, since that is where we get to know some characters properly. I know why we could relate so much to venti and zhongli because we had amazing story quest with them, especially with zhongli. I still remember the day I completed Jean's quest and was in awe to see how admiring she is. That impact never came with Kokomi or Ei. We even lack time spent with Kujou Sara. There is a lack of connection with her character. But the side quests in Inazuma was so good that the rushed main quest was overshadowed.
Agreed, they did the first half setting up everything really well. 2.0 was very well done but 2.1 seemed rushed and sloppy. I feel its a matter of scheduling issues. I honestly think they should have just extended the whole main story to span 3 patches and have a more satisfying story which was more fleshed out since there was definitely alot that went into it. Its honestly the most realistic of the 3 nations so far. 2.2s event were nice but I'd honestly trade them for a better longer archon quest line.
forreaaaalll ei's quest was basically "wtf is a novel? local boomer touches some grass!" and kokomi was just basically "the war is over and im tired but my troops still want to fight" without making it deep enough to develop connections with kokomi, kujou sara, the soldiers, or even the feel of an aftermath of war.
I think it doesn't help with the way they had Yae Miko's personality and had her be written. She seems so dismissive of Ei's problems and reasons that the story follows with it, and even the part where she's a friend who wants to bring a god out of her isolation isn't all that strong in story, which does make the climax fall apart when you really think about it.
Thank you for this video it really cleared up a lot of my confusion around the Inazuma story arc. I liked the clear and concise chronological explanation of the sequence of events that led up to the traveller's arrival. The scenes in the video also got the narration well. The trivia about the sword hunt decree and sakoku decree were well placed and the transition into it didn't feel forced. Overall one of the best video I've watched on this website
One thing that's interesting is the swords and other iron weapons collected during toyotomi hideyoshi's sword hunt were said to be melted down and made into nails for the construction of a temple in kyoto, similar to the visions being embedded in the statue
Personally I think the people of Watatsumi Island didn't give a damn about the Sakoku Decree or Vision Hunt. They people used Kokami's position and influence to gain public support to fight. Watasumi Island was already semi isolated and self sufficient, Using Island purls to import goods. How come you have only 13k subs, you deserve better. The quality of the story is insane, looking forward to your next video. As for the video suggestion, I would like you to make a video about the erosion of the gods and other long-lived beings like azdaha.
Thank you very much for the video! Thank you for explain the complex and confusing lore of the Genshin in simple language. I agree that this quest was not as satisfying as the previous ones, but I suddenly had a thought. Maybe that's the way it should be. Maybe this quest was supposed to show us what a nation looks like under the direct rule of the archon and the disadvantages of this rule. The Archon's principles are their foundation, but also their flaws. Because before that we saw two nations that were not under the direct control of their Archon, therefore the quests left a more pleasant feeling. To be honest, I'm still not sure if this was a bad writing, or if we really should feel disappointed in Ei, even after learning about her sad past. I think many will agree with me that when we went through the main quest, we all expected that they would give us some reason, significant enough to justify all of E's actions. (as it usually happens in such stories) But we were not given that. So to be honest, I don't even know what to think. Perhaps the genshin's writers are playing with our emotions and expectations, or they just did a bad job while working on this story.
One told me that there has been some shuffling between the old and new staff within miHoYo that resulted in the third Archon quest of Inazuma to come out unfinished and messed up. Still, they really should remove the "only three arcs" rule, or even Sumeru will be ruined, even more than Inazuma.
I have this idea where people were expecting Ei's story to mirror those of the previous Archon's story quests where we learn more of their past and grievances. But instead, we were given her present problems about her nation. Her struggle to find a balance in pursuing Eternity while not harming her people. It was a breath of fresh air for me to see an actual active Archon who is struggling to rule her nation. To find that her nation is also struggling to move forward even in her absence while she was in the Plane of Euthymia. She was shown the error of her ways in a sense that her nation is moving forward with or without her. Her idea of Eternity is not ideal for humans but her fear of loss from the Cataclysm is justified as her love for her sister does extend to her nation and her people because if it didn't she wouldn't strive for Eternity in the first place.
I mean, ins't it because Ei put too much trust in the commissions that Inazuma had all these problems. If she directed learned about the war and the rest we wouldn't have the corruption or the destruction of Yashiori. Venti let Monstatd alone and they came with slavery for at least decades and he had to intervene. Anyway this arc was rushed so...
I like how everything I say as an argument to prove that Kokomi isn't a "terrible tactician" and other insults of the same rank is found in this video. Thanks for this! Edit: I didn't really go into depth with my argument, basically just going into depth as to how far the resistance went into Narukami island, why they started to lose and what was impressive with the resistance standing ground against the Shogun's army
Agree to the Inazuma main story feel jump over many aspects which led to lack of engagement with many characters where suppose to give detail information on the war progress on day to day basis. I hope before we went to Sumeru there will be a chapter to wrap Inazuma to make my eyes wide open and understand the situation better. Hope by then Ei showing her compassionate to all the citizens of Inazuma
Let me explain to you on why Ei seems to be careless on her people, about the vision hunt decree and Closing inazuma. Ei knows the Fatui plan. But she doesn't know the effects, and Ei relied on her puppet's Judgement (because it has its own consciousness) when it comes to running Inazuma and its affairs, she seemingly doesn't care but just like when Makoto was still alive, she refused to rule, as she doesn't see her self to fit to rule humanity. Ei was more of a weapon to Makoto. And probably not a ruler. She seems careless. But that's just how she is. She didn't want bad things to happen to her people at all, because Makoto loved Inazuma. And cherished it. And we all know that Makoto was her greatest loss.
Ei was a lonely God. Do not misinterpret her actions as what she actually is. During in her own chapter, she doesn't even know the developments in Inazuma. And is considering a change of phase...
Only is Ei herself knows that there was a rebellion. Then she herself will end it. As far as i know, Tenryou commission hid it from Ei. Or to the puppet.

I swear your videos make my day so much better!
Man whenever I see wrecked ships and banners lying around i remeber your vids excellent explanation !!! please keep it up you are the best explainer
Man I really appreciate these lore videos. Professional and with forensic integrity. Well done once again.
Love your content. Always skipped and speed through story quests so videos like these are my fav. Editing is quality as always
yoooo you are back! Thank you so much for the lore explanation!
wonderful video! Watched it on Envi's stream
Dude u never fail to deliver high quality videos. Love it!
Insane high quality vids my guy props to you!
The presenator's voice in this video is so so good :OO
Thanks for this! It clears up so much!
Seriously dude, your channel needs more subscribers.I'll try my best to recommend you to my friends on social media coz you deserve it.
Those Shogun 2 themes are spot on tho👌
Agree to the Inazuma main story feel jump over many aspects which led to lack of engagement with many characters where suppose to give detail information on the war progress on day to day basis.
I hope before we went to Sumeru there will be a chapter to wrap Inazuma to make my eyes wide open and understand the situation better. Hope by then Ei showing her compassionate to all the citizens of Inazuma
your videos never miss, you are like youtuber oversimplified, except its genshin impact
great videos
Venti: Alcholic
Zhongli: Alzheimer's
Makoto: PTSD
I pay attention and read during all quests so I thought I’d know just about everything in this video… but I was super wrong. Great job!!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you, kind sir, now i finally feel like this story has sense
Great video. this is one of the best teyvat history documentary type thing in youtube.
This video looks and feels like a video produced by Kings & Generals. Thank you for the informative video!
And is considering a change of phase...
found another genshin theory channel, and it is quality af, thanks youtube-kun
I love ur videos so much, such high quality and many details with good animations, a clear structure and good narrative 😭👍🏻 ty sm
Narration *
This is my first time watching one of your videos and I gotta say this presentation is top tier. Definitely earned a sub.
Only is Ei herself knows that there was a rebellion. Then she herself will end it. As far as i know, Tenryou commission hid it from Ei. Or to the puppet.
This is so well researched, omg
Why don't you have lot's of subscribers
You literally made me subscribe in just one video and i am telling you that's rare than getting two 5 star in 10 pull
This felt just like a documentary of the second world war, Great video! You should really have more subscribers than you do.
These videos are so well made...I just lovit!
wow! congrats! Another incredible video...love it... especially ur voice klemenentime..
Wow nice voice, I thought it was Albedo's va at the beginning
This is really a hundred times better than the main Inazuma Archon Quest. They should have included these plot lines in their executions too smh.
Best genshin lore documentary video
Oh gosh, your vid is so underrated!!! Your channel deserve more subscribers! Thanks to you I finally understood everything what happened behind the scenes 💕
Bruh, Watatsumi always waging war on inazuma. 💀
Really interesting video, keep up the good work!
this is lowkey underrated.. remind of The Shogunate channel
NEW VIDEOOO POGGIES 🤩
I can feel the "related" to ei part.. from the inazuma story it is hard to root for anyone ...
I love your content! Best of the best!
This should be animated in the game.
Thank you so much for this!
Act 1 that Ayaka lead is literally the best because of how ayaka narrated the vision hunt decree & its consequence on people & Ei's introduction
Interesting video. Keep up the good work.
I actually enjoyed Inazuma Story. It was very fast-paced that I would agree but I still enjoyed it especially knowing Japanese history.
Thank you for existing
12:30 now they felt the same pain Xiao has to feel everyday
Just an amazingly produced and made video !!!😌😌😌😌
/can you please still keep the subtitles even when you want to emphasize something? I have trouble listening and had to turn on yt's cc, on and off and on and off
The video what really interesting tho. thanks for the hard work
I love your videossss!
Ok ladies and Gentlemen I can feel some kings and generals vibes here!!!
Hello! I'm super impressed by how you make this video, I never knew that Kokomi did all that work and plan everything. May I ask the reference that you when describe how the war is going? I really wish to know more!
Hope to see you make a video about the...Albedo Event, ...The lores on the 2 new Artifact Sets,...& about the incoming Arataki Itto Event....where a new Fatui Harbinger is said to be coming soon.
Making a 2-part video about Scaramouche's Artifact Set so stay tuned for that! ^^
@@KlemenTime Nice! More stories to watch...excited to see that.
yes new video
Great video!! 😀
The Nazuchi Beach campain is really something MHY can eleberated on. I smell Liyue is meddling the civil war affair of Inuzima. Despite it is much more conceal compare to Snezhnaya, it will make sense for Liyue to support the rebel considering the prospect of rebel control led region will be open up for trade. But consider current global political climate, it start a shxt strom in the player community that even destory the game. Lol
FINALLY THANK YOU
This is exactly like Star Wars
Imagine making this to an Anime series
Another awesome video…
Genshin really has an issue of telling a good story poorly.
Hopefully in due time the writing will become much better
Sakoku decree in japan accoured due to christian rebellion at that time and the Shogunate at the time felt that the European colonial power supported them.
Kirishitan was one thing, Europeans being a bunch of *genshin Russians,* that too
damnnn really enjoyed the video
Ei discarded the Balladeer as her puppet because it has a pp. Canon.
I guess she overdid some steps in making a puppet lmao
She also made another puppet which was Scaramouche
No, scara was the first, proof of concept
The shogun doll came later
I wouldnt be surprised if you make videos with a Kazuha vtuber model, you sound like him :0
Sadly it's not allowed :(( i have to make an OC if ever I want to stream and use a vtuber model
OMG HI YOU MADE MY EVENING HELLO ^^,
Kokomi Lore vs Gameplay
A bit disappointed that you didn't go into detail about why The Balladeer was "thrown away". The Gnosis wasn't given the Miko before the prototype was created
I was planning to discuss that in my upcoming video about the Husk of Opulent Dreams. It's coming soon :)
the way you narrated genshin's own main story better than genshin itself>>>> too bad your story lacks bedtime stories for the tactical commander or dango milk
I mean, great lore video but why did you place that painting horizontally? XDD
Dang it! I thought you guys wouldn't notice it
I swear Traveler smiling is so weird😬
Why was the Inazuma Archon quest so rushed? Was it due to the anniversary event that messed up the development of it? If that’s the case they really missed their goal; just because you want to make the event feel special doesn’t mean that it can be done like a homework in the evening before school.
Ever heard about Covid
I swear, You sound like Kazuha. ;)
