- Why I Quit Taking Steroids.
The Long Version - Watch the Video
The Short Version - Time Stamp - 11:39
1. Health Problems (All Correctable)
2. Don't want to die.
3. Had a Son (Need to Raise him to be a man, not just give him money)
4. Business is my favorite competition now.
5. Just time to be done.
This Video has taken me quite some time to film.
Not because anything ground breaking but because I just had to go through the process mentally. No More Geared out Seth. And I have been Geared out Seth for almost 2 decades.
So, I needed to go through it before I talk about it.
Not many bodybuilders talk about it because some don’t stop, some fall off the deep end from it, and some may just not give a fuck. Haha
Me, it was a process to accept I am done and moving on in life.
Moving on from something that played a huge role in who I became and how I got here.
Hope you all enjoy the video.

Great video. Thanks for sharing the great words of advice.
New material for u! Lol
Toxic Greg is here 😂
When are you quitting steroids coach
Just came across you my man...38...and currently having ..beginning to have same conversation with myself that you are speaking of. Currently starting TRT...150/week...which...is beginning ...watching blood work ..Bp..etc....have a son and daughter on a way. Thank you....seriously...it all resonated with me
@@thenextmogul7001 its been about 2 years ago now.
I’m a 35 year old truck driver and recently got my blood work done. Everything was high from being stagnant and eating garbage. I knew it would be because I would get out of breath just walking 70ft, could feel my heart hurt while driving, and my body in general started hurting over nothing. But I dialed in my diet, bought power block adjustable dumbbells for my truck, and a yoga mat. Now I’m down 25lbs in a month and feel much better. I still have another 20 to go, but it took a conscious decision on my part to make it happen.
I always enjoy your videos, Seth. Thanks for all the good content!
literally the stallone from "over the top", good job mateinner
My dad drove a truck. He would stop at 24 hour for workouts on his routes. I think they were preplanned
just take cardarine or a hgh sarm for one bottles worth and it will drop off. obviously do exercise aswell
Well done sir
Damn man this is impressive. Good job
I'm 56 yrs old and have been training since age 15. That's the amount of time I've followed the sport of bodybuilding. Seen them come, seen them go. Seen them live and unfortunately seen them die. Never and I mean fckin NEVER have I seen a pro THIS transparent. Seth you've always kept it real with us, your fans. And that "real" is relative to whatever topic you were on. So I said all of that to say simply...thank you. Good luck to you and yours.
This is the reality of growing up and the will to want to be in your family’s life. Good shit‼️ much respect 💯
Big respect for Seth being this transparent, and making that decision to be the best dad he can be for his son-big respect sir
Great info funny something made me watch ur video got great info as usual got blood work back hemoglobin above perimeters thanks for info and advice
Respect you but son or daughters shouldn't matter. As a man you teach your daughter what to look for in a man and your son how to be a man. They both need their father. No daugther should ever depend on someone to take care of them.
Banging TRT is still steroids only he's getting it off his doc now instead of some gym dealer
Wish all body builders and athletes were as transparent as Seth
Will never happen: sponsors
Why? Risk incriminating themselves? Get outta here!
You mean to say that all athletes are on steroids then? And yes, I'm aware that all pro bodybuilders take gear. But "Athlete" is a veeery broad term.
@@BeardedDanishViking most are it'd it'd heavily used in high-school and colleges throughout Texas
@@rockon8174 how are they incriminating themselves? In bodybuilding? Yeah, big reveal there. Athletes I can understand. But in the bodybuilding world if you’re not transparent you’re just fake as fuck and a liar by omission. You’ll have sponsors and no one in the industry will respect you, take your choice.
Good on you, bro! I lost my father at 8 years old so being healthy and fit for my 3 boys is the single most important aspect to my fitness regimen. It drive me and although I do enjoy working out, having kids, especially young men, makes it even more important. Stay healthy and fit for your boys, my friend!
Absolutely LOVE the personal accountability & positivity, keep on rockin' Seth!

Someone asked if steroids were on seth
haha that moment when you, hold my beer
Brilliant 👏
Ha ha yer that's more like it, comeing off my arse😂😂
Man, you still have a physique that most people will never achieve. Your frame still looks huge at 208lbs.
14min in. You are great. New fan.
Of course he still have a great physique after god knows how many years of steroids use he better look good
@@JC_ORTIZ Idiots like you think its just the years of steroids. Steroids only account for 10-15%. The rest is diet, training, sleep.
@Michael Smith While I appreciate what you’re saying, steroids account for way more than 10-15%. Don’t know why people say this. Look at a true natural bodybuilder and a juiced up bodybuilder. The difference is night and day! You think the juiced up bodybuilder is only “10%” better? Not to take away from the hard word and dedication that all these guys put in, but to think gear only gives a 10% advantage is laughable. Imagine… guys risking their lives and health to only look 10% better 😏
@@MichaelSmith-xx6hr hahahaha. Please.
Dude, you're the most real guy I've seen putting out content. Keep building your legacy (being a role model for your son). Thanks for sharing your story. You still are grinding and working hard through self reflection. HWMF in the room!
As a subscriber from almost day one, I have no words to say how impressed I am with your candid and honest discussions about bodybuilding and life in general. But, this particular video was off the charts. Ultimate respect from an old guy 63 yrs, that has lifted for over 45 yrs and agrees with each and every word you spoke. Respect once again from Canada.
From a 26 year old also from Canada. I could not fucking agree more. Seth is the best most honest Dad around. Business man that took bodybuilding to him. Best role model. His drive and creativity, talent and passion is unrivalled.
Better go back and binge watch! Dude is a savage and is a crazy intense, inspirational, person. He's self made too. He has changed my life for sure! Be safe man
You’re extremely inspirational, Seth. More videos is all I ask from you
At last an actual video that we can respect a man that is come to terms that drugs aren't everything I to quit juice 8 years ago when I was 280 pounds no I'm 210 ripped and feeling better then I ever have in 20 years I'm 55 and my clothes fit me great my breathing is a hundred percent better I sleep better walk better and overall my mind is better thank you Seth for being a man
I watched your series on steroids. What I love most about it is your brutal honesty. My late husband is one who died from the reckless use of steroids. Your videos really helped me to now understand what he went through. It’s closure for me. Thank you! Enjoy the rest of your new life with your family.
So sad sorry for your loss . Sending blessings 🙏
My sons are 18 & 16, amazing young men. I’m telling you, you’re doing the right thing!
SETH! I Fucken needed to hear this. God bless you man. Family is priority.
Agreed don’t take gear sir. You’re life is valuable so what if you don’t have 24 in pythons
Ladies love a dad bod 🤤
This is one of the realest videos I’ve watched. Seth, big respect to you and wish you nothing but great health and happiness! I’m inspired!
The statement “Growing a conscience” about your own health is one of the most apropos statements for some professional athletes when one considers what they do to their bodies. From football (violent collisions and brain trauma) to wrestling (cutting weight and the constant grind of match after match) to bodybuilders (too much to list) these athletes must have said mentality to set aside their own health to reach that elite level. Great video!
Appreciate you sitting down to talk about this… Please do more training videos🙏🙏🙏
What a nice guy! I just bumped into this video.
I’m a 55 year old recreational natural Bodybuilder making a kinda comeback.
Seth is an awesome communicator that’s really engaging and totally authentic.
I’m subscribed now.
Why aren’t there more guys that can present the sport this well? Very refreshing.
"Be a better version of yourself" is one thing I strive for everyday now. Thank you for talking about this. I have massive respect for you.
It's why we respect him. Good at motivation and stating clearly what can happen.
Be your own auditor. Even journal bad days. Foggy mind days so when good days come you remember why you're making better choices for YOU!
Seth be giving us some of those dad advices 🤯💯
This level of honesty is so rare it has to be respected 👏🙌
I've been watching your vids for a few years now, and the main reason is your no BS approach. Great to see you extend that to yourself because it would suck to see you go down the same road as some others. Still looking awesome and still killing it as always! Power to you, sir!
Brother I have been watching you for years, I have much respect for you putting this video out. This is what young body builders need to be hearing your teaching wisdom.
Damn brother. This is why I love watching your awesome shit!
People can’t comprehend truth or honesty. You speak both!i love the transparency.
This is one thing the fitness industry need honesty.
Its needs it so damn bad. More and more bodybuilders will ruin their later lives for 35 dollar trophies. I respect the grind, I love their dedication, but the dudes who have families and are pumpin the gear hard, its sad to see them ruin the chemistry and structure of their body largely for shitty supplement companies to make money off of dumb kids.
Thank you. You gave me a lot to think about. I turned 44 this summer. Staying motivated and keeping my energy level up are my two biggest challenges at this point in my life. Some days its very difficult. It was a lot easier when I was in my 20"s.
Thank you for the honesty and putting life issues into perspective.
From a father to another father.......Good job bro!
Respect to you Seth for being so open and honest.
Time to make dad gains.
That was an amazing video. I was a power lifter and did some crazy things. It did affect my health and I am paying the price now. These past two years I have had eye surgery but that has not stopped me from training. I have changes the way I train. I have learned different exercises and different ways to do a set. Drop set, static press, super sets and shorter rest periods. I love watching your videos and how honest you are.
I’ve always heard about you one of my friends told me you were hands-down his favorite bodybuilder and this was the first video of yours I’ve ever actually clicked. I now understand why you’re so well received. Thank you for the transparency I wish there was a lot more of it in bodybuilding. Keep up the good fight and your children will always be worth more than physical gains.
I always appreciate the inspiration and positive energy that comes from watching your videos.
Thank you for that. I'm 55 and I'm done competing but I'm still training and living the bodybuilding lifestyle 100%. This is something that has been weighing on my mind for a while now. I still haven't come to terms with it completely but I know that I need to.
One family man to another, respect brother! Bodybuilding never paid my bills and it did yours but it was hard for me to hang up my belt and focus on family and being a provider. Hats off to ya!!
Great video Seth! Got me tearing up a little bro thinking about my 3 year old son. Couldn't be said any better man. Thanks for the inspiration....
I have nothing but the utmost respect for you! 🤙🏾
Bro... You're like a big brother man. Appreciate the transparency
Everything you said about evolving, self love and change is everything thats been on my mind about how much i've changed for the better the past 5 years. You are absolutely spot on about not being the person you were 5 years ago. If you are a person who doesn't learn from their wins, their losses or their challenges you are not growing in life.
Loved this video Seth, and well done for being so mentally well put together that you could take a step back and realise whats really important going forward from this point. It's what the industry really needs and a message young people really need to hear.
Thanks for sharing this with such honesty, Seth. Solidarity.
Thanks for being transparent brother! I’ve been natural all my life and always wondered growing up how some guys were the way they were. I struggle with eating habits, but have decided I was going to eat correctly.
When we taking suppliments like creatine...protein shakes ....fat burners ...preworkouts ...are we still in the safe zone ...or we roiding
Man if I could like this video twice I would! Good Job
Thank you so much for this video! I just got my blood work done last week and got my results. Jumping on my trt asap. Thank you so much for this video. I was on the fence and was questioning everything on what to do. This video Couldn’t of come at a better time!!!! Thank you!!!
Best video I’ve listened to in awhile. I’m 53 too, props!
Great message Seth. I have been a Bodybuilder for 34 or that is when I chose to stop doing what you were doing. I am also a ER ACUTE Nurse and I personally have treated friends in my ER in their 40's and even early 50's that just couldn't quit when they should have and thus I have seen Heart attacks, Liver and kidney failure and straight-up heart failure. I had a friend that was 49 he wanted that last show so bad in the Masters, he had already had been hospitalized with kidney issues previously three times, I told him don't do. He started a year long prep 4000+ mg a week went up to 309lbs and then BAM massive kidney failure along with heart failure, now he is on dialysis and weighs about 200lbs.
he def 'test' his limits
And dialysis SUCKS. I've had relatives on it (not because of steroids) and, yes, I'm extremely grateful it exists, but it's just dying more slowly. It's not just a couple of hours in a chair and--bam--you're like new again. Just not getting kidney disease is a big motivator for me to do all kinds of things to take better care of myself.
The stuff I did 2 myself in my 20's & 30's , now in my 50's I just shake my head about how crazy I was when I was younger
1000%
Yeh but it made you who you are no regrets
I like your name thoug😂

Rarely ever comment on UA-cam videos but I have to say I really liked this video. What you said about being a dad to a son was tremendous! Made me appreciative of my dad and my relationship with him and how he so wants me to continually improve and be a better version of myself. Love your approach to doing things naturally to get healthier vs taking a pill. Thanks for the video, Seth! Looking forward to following along in your journey to a healthier you :)
One of the many things I love about you is you didn’t take back anything you have said or lied, you’ve just been honest and many people can learn a lot from you! Inspiration and a roll model you are Seth!
That's the reason i like watching or listening to you, you always keep it real. Thank you.
Much love for you Seth. I have 2 sons under 2 and completely agree with how you feel about yours
Great video dude, very inspirational. Coming from a recovering alcoholic giving up something that is such a big part of your life forces you to grow and evolve. Embrace the new journey, all the best and keep pumping content!
I have watched and respected you through the years. THIS video makes me respect you even more. I'm a guy who started bodybuilding in his 40's. Not competing...but to build strength and longevity. To me there is a deeper soul that is POSSIBLE through bodybuilding...a spiritual element to the "you vs you" mentality. I think as a man you are gaining the wisdom and perspective to become a POWERFUL teacher and role model for other men...a voice of reason of why you want to be STRONG and HEALTHY in that 2nd and 3rd sets of 30-years we all have. Seth...your GREATEST DAYS and BEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS are yet to come. I'll be faithfully watching my friend!
Big respect for your decision Seth!!! Love your honesty with everything.
I took some steroids when I was training in my mid-to-late 20's, and I had no idea about nutrition, I just ate shit all day. I don't think I even knew what protein was, or MACRO's etc.
That was 20 years ago and I'm now almost 51. After a 17 year break from the gym (or any physical activity) I've been hitting the gym hard for nearly 4 years, eating clean and training smart with no gear or any drugs and I'm more jacked and stronger than what I ever was in my life.
I feel absolutely amazing physically and mentally. The Doctor says I'm in prefect health in every way.
Be serious about your training as a natural lifter, eat clean and love it every day, and YOU WILL SEE RESULTS
Eat clen, Tren hard, test your limits, d-bolish your goals, ghet results, anavar give up!
This is something we all need to hear. I think most of us are aware of the damage being done but need to hear this to get ourselves in check while we still young and in that window that we can recover. Thanks Seth for sharing
Hell of a video bro thanks man glad I found ya on UA-cam and you still looked jacked man
The moment in life where bodybuilders have to decide between being massive and dead, or alive. Still can have an awesome frame without enhancements. Every dog has his day.
That's been your identity for so long. I can't imagine how hard it was to completely stop.
He explained it......he looked at his son
He didn't completely stop though he's still on TRT ect he's just stopped compounds like tren
@MARCUS SLADKOVA it's 100% not stopping, a trt or hrt dose is still taking steroids, it's not stopping, he can't and won't stop, problem is he's been superphysiologocal doses and he's reaped the benefits of that, and now he's experiencing the downside of that, his internal organs are fucked and he realises he's not going to see his son grow up if he continues that way, his 200mg he's talking about isn't even a real trt dose, closer to 150mg every 2 weeks, but for someone his size and previous usage, even the 200mg every week will feel like nothing.
@@davidrowan3853 yup
@@davidrowan3853 150mg every two weeks is the most retarded TRT protocol out there and only implemented by doctors who have no idea what they're doing.

I'll be 50 next week, Seth. Thank you for this video. I thought I had everything figured out. The only time I was right about 'figuring it out' was finally realizing that I had NOTHING figured out. @Brandon Keppner no one can tell you that tbh , better see a doctor for a good check up so you can see what's going on
@Brandon Keppner check out the long term studies on testosterone at 600 mg week shows no harm done ,there are several studies you will find Google and deca at a few hund mgs is not damaging if your prolactin levels are ok as well. This is a very safe looking cycle ,as safe as your going to get because any less testosterone is just trt dose. 600.aint much. It takes me 300 to 400 mg a week for my trt to get regular levels and the studies show many benefits with no harm at 600 mg long term . It will a the mega doses of test and of trenbolone that start damaging organs ect . Your cycle will do you great with no problems Im sure. Just keep getting bloodwork and see where estrogen and prolactin levels and where blodwork is at regularly and you will be fine . This is not steroid abuse in any way those doses. I shot more than.that much test in a day and used to try 1000 mg at once to get a response . 600 mg is nothigh dose. High dose is a a gram and over 1000mg.
