How I Turned a Rotten Log into 3,500 on Etsy

- In this video I'm making a coffe table from a rotten log, some epoxy resin and some rusty hardware I found inside a cable spool. I (I try to) sell it on Etsy.

I use a comment from a viewer in the video. I love the comment, and decided to use it. Everybody is allowed to state their opinion about what I do, and I on the other hand feel free to use any of them in future videos.
The story in this video is based on true events, but the elderly woman is not my actual mother. My mother did not buy the table, somebody else did, but I found it to be very funny to have an ending where I pretended she did.
I did sell it for 3500 DKK on Etsy. That's about 470 euros or 482 USD.

I'm not affililated with any of the toolbrands I'm using in this video. Nobody paid me so say anything. However, I do like to support other creators, and often buy their merch.
In this video I'm often wearing shirts and drinking from a cup from DIY For Knuckeheads. Shane Conlan is an Australian creator, and he was very kind to be a part of my video "The Knuckleheads reclaimed wood workbench." I owe him a lot. Go check him out at jespermakes.com/diyforknuckle...
I do owe thanks to a lot of creators, I will try my best to feature you somehow in future videos. The way I like to feature other creators is by making some sort of cameo that's relevant for the video I'm making, so I'm sorry if you send me your sticker hoping to get a shout-out. It could be a while before the right opportunity shows up for me.
Thank you all creators and people watching and commenting on my videos. I read all comments and will answer all. I learn a lot from the comments and will do my best to mention who gave me the good advice in future videos. Thank you.

So I just closed youtube and a load of tabs, because I have been binge watching your videos and it's time to go to bed! I said to myself well now I have to stop watching these woodworking videos and if I'm going to relax - try to watch a nice movie or something. Then I said well, that was like a pile of little movies I just watched - humour, talent, entertaining and great soundtracks! Absolutely brilliant! ... So I logged back in to tell you what I had said to myself lol! x
You're the best!
I am having a hard time deciding if this video is more informative or more entertaining ! It was both for sure ! Your humble scene was great and the table is absolutely beautiful.
Thanks a lot mate, love your feedback. Cheers from Denmark
Fantastic!!! That's all I have to say!
I have been watching a lot of your videos during these months of not being able to move my body properly. And I realized that I wanted to make a video Jesper style!!
Collaborating with makers from different countries was my dream. You are really amazing. Respect! from the bottom of my heart.
And now I want to try voice-over for the first time, so I bought Condenser microphone and I'm using my two-hour commute by bicycle to and from my welding job to practice my English pronunciation and read aloud the scripts I created for the next-next video.
Sorry for my long story. Anyway I just wanted to say congratulations and that I look forward to the next one!✊
Hey Jumpei, hope you're doing better. It's so good to hear from you. I think it sounds awesome that you will be making voiceover on your videos. I was afraid what people might think about my accent, but hey, this is UA-cam, to stand out is a good thing. Let me know if I can do anything. Cheers from your friend in Denmark
Best builder video ever. failure. triumph. plot twist. love it!

Hello my dear friend Jesper,
Congratulations on the great success and rise of your channel. This situation is beautiful. I am happy for you. This is very nice in your recycling project. A great coffee table with a rotten log, epoxy resin application. good job. congratulations. Thanks for the details. I wish you a nice new week. See you. Big greetings. Kind regards. This was an awesome video. Thank you. You are funny, you showed your mistakes, you've got some good people helping you with the video and a wonderful mother.

Wow, thanks! So glad to hear that. Do you make videos?
@@JesperMakes yessir! Not as good as yours by any stretch though lol
Just here, waiting for Joseph to comment
Me too 😂
Sir, just found your channel. First and foremost, thank you for talking. I HATE silent videos. The "Dukes of Hazard" story telling asides were hilarious. The other builder UA-cam guest appearances (especially Bourbon Moth) were brilliant and hilarious. I love self-deprecating humor and showing that we all make mistakes (It doesn't all go swimmingly smooth). And the end scene with the champagne bottle and the axe, I about lost it. I'm not only a subscriber now, but I'm a fan, so thank you. Will definitely be watching more!
Love me some BourbonMoth and Jason Hobbs!
Amazing work, Jesper!
Thanks mate...
I love the content man! I've recently started gathering some pallet wood to make a coffee table (before I first saw your channel) and when I saw your video I was astonished. I got inspiration to further help my project and I'm looking forward to making something awesome.
When I got your video recommended and I saw the channel name I laughed out loud as we share the same first name!
Looking forward to more video's.
Sincerely, Jesper
Hello name brother, so glad we met. Go make sometihng awesome.
I hope with all my heart Joseph watches this haha! Great video again man, hope your mum loves her new coffee table!
Haven't heard from Joseph yet...
In a world of mundane UA-cam videos, It's fun and refreshing to find your very unique video. Happy to have came across your channel. You are a natural comedian/artist. Wish you all the best.
Thank you very much, I'm so happy to hear that. It looks like you're doing well on UA-cam also - what are your channel about?
Hollywood would kill for that ending! My neighbours must be concerned with how load my lol was :) Great job!
Legend! Thank you Steven, appreciate it!
Ugliest thing? Neither one comes even close! Love that flattening bit. Your face must have been awfully sticky after that stunt with the sparking wine. Great vid Jesper, very enjoyable. Three to one, three to one, three to one. Gotta' write that down somewhere...
Hi Mark, yeah I'll never forget 3:1 now! Spaypaint it on your wall somewhere, or just call @turgworks if in doubt! Thanks for being here mate!
Cookies and biscuits - good thing I watched this while eating breakfast, otherwise I would have gotten way of a craving. 😁 Great storytelling, and what a twist!
Epoxy seems like a hassle, I think I'll stay clear of it for as long as I'm able....
It's also rather expensive, so yes, stay off as long as you can
Very pleasant and positive video! The main thing is that mom is now proud! And good friends who can give advice and joke at the same time!
Thanks! Positive vibes and a proud mom - that's the dream, right? Glad you enjoyed the video and the camaraderie it shows.
Not sure if I'm watching a woodworker or a comedian.

Lovin' it.

@@JesperMakes yes, it is very relatable, this channel feels like home to me :)

How can anyone hate that pallet block table? This is gorgeous! I would want one in my vision of my perfect man cave
I'm glad to hear that you like the pallet block table! I put a lot of time and effort into creating it, and I'm happy to know that others appreciate the end result. I understand that not everyone will have the same taste or preferences, and that's okay. I appreciate your support and your enthusiasm for my work. Thanks again for watching and for the compliment!

Man as long as you LEARNED from your mistakes then that's all that matters. Learn from it and move on, just don't do that again. Don't give up, keep on trucking. And like Stonecoat Countertop says, YOU GOT THIS!!!
Totally with you-mistakes are just learning in disguise. So, got any memorable learning moments from your own projects? And yeah, "You got this" is the mantra! Keep on crafting. ☕

@@JesperMakes Thank you :) I have given you a follow back. As for UA-cam, that's too much for me. I have no clue about video editing and all that I don't have money for any equipment.
