No one can ride in the front seat now and they can't get in without a mask. I mean, technically you can because it's your car but to protect yourself and others from COVID, it's probably the best practice not to.
Lyft has sent these recommended guidelines to drivers and passengers. You can actually cancel a ride for a passenger that doesn't have a mask or if there are so many people on the trip that someone would have to sit in the front. Lyft will pay you a cancellation fee. I had a ride last week where the lady pretended that she was looking for a mask and it turned out that she didn't have one. I told her I wouldn't be able to take her. I cancelled the ride and Lyft paid me $5. They can also cancel a ride if YOU don't have a mask on.
I don't unlock my doors until I see a mask on. If they come to the car without one, I ask them to put one on before getting in. I had a girl last night who was riding with another person who said she would just cover her face with the shirt she was wearing. She was going to lift the top of the shirt up over her face and hold it there. They were coming form shopping for clothes so I suggested that she could tie something on her face instead. However the girl who requested the ride had purchased a box of masks in the store so they were both able to put one on.
There's a company who makes shields for the car similar to what a commercial cab has. I may invest in buying one since there's supposed to be another covid surge later this year.
Thanks for sharing this info. I should have looked into Covid requirements/changes since I last drove. I checked and I actually drove in March but it was before things got serious.
@@StephOnThePedal yeah they just recently put those things into place. Like within the past couple of weeks.
I almost feel sorry for you. You act like covid is going to kill us all. Buy some oj and shut up. Stop spreading misinformation and violating ada laws. You need to be reported and fined 75,000 I might actually do that
@@zdavidzz should I be afraid? Do it. 😂😂😂
Thanks for sharing that you are one of those type to take that seriously & for sharing your opinion & the Lyft info.
steph keep up your amazing videos my friend. much love from Manhattan nyc
Thank you so much!!
Great video! 👍
I Don't like people very much and certainly don't want anyone in my car rating me, my car and my driving . I will give your food a ride though .
I totally understand. It’s not for everyone.
Another informative vid
Glad you think so!
My girl talkin' about LYFT! ❤❤ The reason I became a lyft operator
Yes baby I used your code. lol where's my thank u!?!
Hey "honey" did u hear about lyft going electric?
You are absolutely right, due to COVID19 they are paying a ton of money. $7/per ride. Plus in my city there are doing 75 rides for $250. I wish it was $400 like it is in your city.
That might be true in some markets but has anyone tell you what is the catch?, at least in my market about 90% of rides are 15-20 min away for an actual trip being only 4-5 minutes. Unfortunately the majority of rides aren't worth your time. Take a few of these rides and you'll be going through a full tank every day rendering this gig worthless. Is sad to say these companies are back to their old nasty tricks. They intentionally give you garbage just to waste your time.
One thing about Lyft, is it's hard to see the riders rating and once you accept you can't see it at all after that, unlike Uber. Great video by the way!
True! I would say I typically prefer Uber but Lyft is killing it with their offers right now. Thanks!
Steph!! Do it!!! Wipe the handles down after each ride. I’m a bad influence 🤣. Or get a partition or something. I wish we had these awesome bonus’s in NJ/Philly.
We do. I drove into a $16 power zone last night and an $18 power zone last week. I'm in Philly. Currently working on 75 rides for $250. I've seen $450 and $500 bonuses within the last month but I just started driving again last week after 3 months.
Nina Berry Thats madness! Wow!
Nina Berry ooooh. I have a jersey license that’s probably why it doesn’t show up for me.
@@AminaBeans205 Yup true. I have had multiple $20 power zones here in Philly. And I am also working on the 75 rides for 250.
@@Wickedgarden375 aww man and you guys can't come up and drive or can you? I had a ride to Jersey the other night and Lyft turned me off right away. I used to be able to take at least 5 rides in Jersey before heading back to Philly.
WRONG! If you want to stop driving after your current ride you click the three dots at the bottom by the passenger name and click LAST RIDE. Not End After Queue like you stated.
Nice vid! Do you prefer driving for Uber or Lyft?
Thanks! I have driven significantly more for Uber. I liked Lyft better at first but I grew to like Uber more because it felt more consistent.
So do you know where your taking the rider or you will not know until you pick them up...example ..is the trip 100 miles or just 5
Does the Lyft still show you how long it takes for the trip before you accept it? I remember they do show that info before.
Lyft- Power Zones
Uber- Surge Area's
You can tap on the second person and decline that next ride that pops up. That doesn't affect your acceptance rate. It doesn't count as a cancellation if you do it that way.
Evidentially we both needed a Lyft refresher. 🤦♀️
@@StephOnThePedal lol! It's okay. Barely anyone has driven in months. We're all re-learning. ☺️
What you need to work with lyft. I have black electric car and I want make extra money. And I have TLC driver license. How to get base letter lyft.
Yesterday I had an order and said to deliver to Florida. I live in California. I had to call the customer and they were surprised as well. When I delivered the app said, " I'm not in the right place."
Wooow! That’s crazy!
@@StephOnThePedal Yes, that was crazy.
When do you see how much your gonna get paid for a ride before it ? Is that possible ?
You can cancel the next trip while you have a trip in motion and not affect your driver rating.
I didn't know that. How do you cancel your next trip?
"But it don't make no sense!" Pa cried.
"Not till you see the fella that put out this here bill. You'll see him, or somebody
that's workin' for him. You'll be a-campin' by a ditch, you an' fifty other famblies. An'
he'll look in your tent an' see if you got anything lef' to eat. An' if you got nothin', he
says, 'Wanna job?' An' you'll say, 'I sure do, mister. I'll sure thank you for a chance to
do some work.' An' he'll say, 'I can use you.' An' you'll say, 'When do I start?' An' he'll
tell you where to go, an' what time, an' then he'll go on. Maybe he needs two hunderd
men, so he talks to five hunderd, an' they tell other folks, an' when you get to the place,
they's a thousan' men. This here fella says, 'I'm payin' twenty cents an hour.' An' maybe
half a the men walk off. But they's still five hunderd that's so goddamn hungry they'll
work for nothin' but biscuits. Well, this here fella's got a contract to pick them peaches
or-chop that cotton. You see now? The more fellas he can get, an' the hungrier, less
he's gonna pay. An' he'll get a fella with kids if he can, 'cause-hell, I says I wasn't
gonna fret ya." The circle of faces looked coldly at him. The eyes tested his words. The
ragged man grew self-conscious. "I says I wasn't gonna fret ya, an' here I'm a-doin' it.
You gonna go on. You ain't goin' back."
This is kind of cute for a small 20 year old to be exploring with but in the end I think you’d rather have Lyft full time plus the possibility of doing a few rides here and there after your 40 or so hours. It’s flexible as can be and it’s all up to you so it can be nice. However when it comes down to it I think it works best by itself it doesn’t offer much as weekend thing you want to maximize it at its full capacity at times then just ease off of it while you craft your true craft. Or who knows maybe this is the thing you do to get by.. still...
You all are really funny
Terrified in Tucson Az but I need to pay my bills
You can always do delivery gigs like Instacart instead. Much less risky imo.
If your terrified as you say. Don't do it! Instead collect PUA benefits. Thats what I'm doing. Covid-19 is really high in AZ now.
Can A passenger see first and last name/pic of lyft driver?
YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU had some DRINKS before this! Hahahahahahahahaha
Way to stick it to LYFT! You are totally blasted in this! Lol wow....
I told u not to stress over these artificial lockdowns
Uhhhh.... I'm not drunk. That's just me naturally. lol
why does lyft most always go off line after 2 requests
Does the app show the customer destination before you accept it?
nope
How many rides u do a week?
Steph your hair looks beautiful.
Thank you Carol!
I didn't get a new driver bonus....I signed up on my own
I never got my driver sign up bonus with Lyft and I gave 400 rides 2 1/2 years ago. Its a trap
That’s unfortunate, but I know a lot of people including myself that did receive their bonuses. I definitely don’t think it’s a trap. I do know that you can screw yourself out of the bonus if you complete some of the required rides outside of your zone. I’m guessing that’s probably what happened to you.
@@StephOnThePedal Rides are rides inside or outside shouldn't matter.
i got all of them from the Lyft app. maybe back then, They should have advertise it better.
Call them and get your money, UBER owed me money and they later figured it out and gave it to me.
Go to hub and tell them. U will get it
Also some people really are waiting up to an hour for rides!! LOL
That’s not good!
@@StephOnThePedal no it's not. This lady had two kids with her at the time. She was coming from the post office. Rides are so high in demand right now that as soon as you swipe a ride as picked up, another hit comes in!
Did that automatically add the ride?
Yes, you can choose to go offline after accepting a ride but I forgot to do that. Lyft will continue to add people to your que if there are nearby passengers.
11:50 Bro you messed up your chance so bad! hahaha
Stop simpin. He didn't mess up anything, he's out of her league.
I love you
My acceptance is 40% but my overall is 5 stars I hate Lyfts Driving score algorithm.
+ Another round of gov checks!
hello hello i just used your code
How much did the ride cost him I wonder??
Pretty sure I answered in another comment
Who's the dude?
Power zone
Oh my gosh thank you! I can’t believe I couldn’t remember! Prime time is old school.
I would pay you to drive around if you were in california :/
Everywhere is easier than new york city
How much did he pay for that ride
$8.80 plus $1 tip. Pretty crazy that Lyft paid out more than the passenger!
Your car is too nice for rideshare
Haha agreed!
I think I'm more confused after watching this video. But I think you are pretty so its a great trade off.
Hahah....fair. I'll do another one at some point.
@@StephOnThePedal 😍
LYFT sucks here in Ontario! they pay less money than Uber........
Have you looked into it recently? I wonder if that’s still true.
thats cause Trudeau suxx
Stop letting lyft take 60% of your fare because it's your car your gas and times here's how after you pick up the passenger after 1mile end the ride early and ask passenger to add the difference as a tip thank me later
Jesus Christ steph go offline and/or drive somewhere lonesome OMF
And your makeup.
Awe thanks!
