You mean pay per batch or amount of batches? I see plenty of available batches in my area. Pay is somewhat inconsistent.

Steph On The Pedal it's funny how people cry about double batches and I take triple batches with a shit on of items. The pay is good sometimes, but you just gotta be good with your shit 😂

Once you accept the order - BEFORE you swipe to start shopping, click the “I” in the top right. That gives you the persons address and will also say number of items/units again. CLICK on that item/unit and it will open up the shopping list 🤩🤩🤩🤩. I look at this before entering the store to mentally plan my route in the store. Sometimes I’ll seek out the unique items I’m not familiar with before I swipe to start so I’m not fumbling around “on the clock”. I stumbled on this one day and it’s been a game changer for me!!

Have to agree with you. Most of my orders I can get majority of the items in my cart before even starting the order. Helps outs a lot. I make sure they don’t need any changes when done. Not bragging but still maintaining a 5 star with 35 hours a week at $750.
On double batches, factor your time as doubled since you are shopping for 2 customers, texting 2 customers and delivering for 2 customers. Ratings are a factor here as well as you may risk poor ratings if you are not able to handle a double batch. Never take a triple batch as it’s never worth the pay. Too much room for error.
I'm an instacart newbie of about 2 weeks now and today I decided to do my first double batch. The total payout was about $26 and there were a total of about 22 items. The total driving distance was a little over for miles and the bonus was that they were on my way home at the end of my work day. So I had the bright idea of tying too small carts together with produce bags. O. M. G. I didn't realize that the carts would be so hard to maneuver. I found that I had to use a lot of concentration and I had to go back and keep rechecking that I was putting everything in the right place. I literally could have done each order one by one and gotten finish quicker. I was glad to see the process though and will definitely do them again but next time I will get one large cart and color coded cooler bags:)
Honestly, I started doing multi-batches a month ago. I realized the platform is having more multi-batch orders. The way I do it is to look and see, who has the most items. Then, I'll leave most of the buggy space for it. Then, lowest item will be put in a basket at the end of the cart. Then, at checkout, I'll tell the cashier that I have two orders.The one with most, I tell them to just bag it. Then, the smallest order, I'll have them tie the bags. Therefore, I'll be able to tell the difference in the batches. Usually, on triple-batches, I'll do the same thing, but have the third batch with a basket at the bottom of the cart. At Publix, the smallest batch, I'll request a paper bag or bags. Then, so on.
For those that shop at places like Aldi, do note that sometimes the cashiers at certain locations don't help you keep the items for double/triple orders separate. For example at Aldi's, the cashier would sometimes just throw everything in the cart after they scan it even if you paid for them separately. You just gotta sort through the items and double check that you put the right items in the right bags afterwards by yourself.
I just witnessed this the other day at Aldi also! Someone took the time to organize the items out of the FULL basket and the register worker just threw all of the items back into the cart. That poor girl had to reorganize the 3 batch order all over again! I told her that she looked very organize to handle all of those items and she just replied "It was that worker, that's why I don't like doing multiple batches here" and just walked out. Felt bad she had to deal with that.
I have just started Instacart and have not done a multiple batch yet. I just ordered my bags from the description and hope to start soon. I appreciate everyone's info, tricks and advice!
Just put one persons order on the conveyor belt and pay before putting the second order on the conveyor belt .
@@pome336 I just started instacart. Did my first double batch at Aldi's I told the worker they were separate orders and had to STAY separate. He was kind enough to place a burrier and separate in the cart I got lucky that time.
just use two different color sharpies, mark the upc code for each order.
Wouldn’t you really only need to mark one of them? Like mark all your A items and anything that’s blank would be a B item? Seems like that would be much faster
Did my first three batches today. The first one was simple and quick. The second one was a double order, had to make some substitutions, then at check out I had a bit of a hard time with getting my Google Pay to work, which took some time. I felt a little anxious and overwhelmed, but in the end I got through it. Thank you for the video and the sticker idea. Also like the bags you use!!

Double Orders. Dont do em. Everytime I do them I get the 2 most neediest people on the planet. Its a constant text stream of "add this", 'I dont want that'.. and the last time one of the orders added alcohol but the person wasnt home.. they were begging through text for me to wait "5 minutes", which of course turned into 20+min, and the 2nd person was pissed to the point that they flagged all their frozen pizza's as 'missing'.. costing me over a thousand dollars in lost wages due to a crappy rating system.. Take doubles/tripples with Caution!

Yes! Nervous! This whole thing makes me super nervous. I’ve only done two batches. I heard from my daughter that we had two hours to complete a batch but my last batch I started at 3 PM and at 3:55 I noticed I got a message saying I had until 4:17 to deliver the batch. That’s only one hour and 17 minutes. fortunately I was already in the car with the motor on and the house was only 10 minutes away so I was about five or six minutes early. But the point is I don’t like pressure. I don’t feel like we’re getting paid enough to have a bunch of pressure put on us. I think two hours is fair. This order had seven bags of groceries so it’s not like It was a super small order.

That's what I ran into yesterday. I just started doing this a week ago and have only taken single orders. It's enough to keep those straight but I am considering double batches just to reduce a lot of idle time sitting around waiting on single orders. Of course the batch does have to be worth it of course

I am currently Pickup shopper at Kroger and my last day is Wednesday. I plan on doing mostly Kroger with IC because I know where everything is. Literally everything, lol. I like watching your Kroger vids because it looks like they are all pretty much set up the same way. I have 3 Kroger stores within about 7 minutes of where I live. The closest being my store which is 2 minutes from my house. Also I have and Aldi and 2 CVS stores within 5 minutes. So since I am very familiar with those stores, those will be the ones I concentrate on accepting.

Cashiers hate double batches so much because people don’t know how to do them or at least stay organized. So the fact that you have a walk through and tips is fantastic. I personally don’t like them but when I did them I made sure i made it less confusing for cashiers. But the other day I saw an instacart shopper pulling two full cars I mean you do you baby girl but 😒😒😒 that’s not it... Everyone needs to see your videos lol

I learned a lot about the replacement thing now though that if they don’t answer your message you just add it.
I waited 20 mins for a response but it was for flowers Mother’s Day so I just used my best judgement ❤️❤️
Another person who makes IC videos says not to add them but to refund if they don’t respond. I just started, so I followed the other UA-camrs advice and refunded when I was not getting an answer, and after I checked out, they said go ahead and replace, but it was too late, I was already checked out, I felt so bad and wished I would have went ahead and added the items.
You could also use a piece of cardboard in the cart to separate A and B
Came over from facebook group of yours and this is a great informative video. All I'd say is, it's exactly like doing 1 order but for multiple people. It shouldnt be that nervous but I can understand for the idea of making a mistake of putting one persons item with the others.

When i do double orders i use the main compartment for the bigger order. I use the seat and the front end of the cart and the bottom of the basket to seperate the orders.

What I usually do for double orders I try to use the top seat cart for the smallest items works all the time and use the other order for the mid part of the cart just in case it gets a little confusing at the end I get a smaller cart to separate them before I go and checkout it is way easier that way trust me. Some Double Batches Can Be Worth It

Thank you so much for this video. It is very very helpful! I’ve been wanting to take double batches for a couple weeks now, but have been too scared. Also, I know it’s not always right, but I love how your app tells you where the item is located (aisle / shelf). Mine just tells me what section to find the stuff (dairy, dry goods, etc,.), but maybe that’s because I’m in Canada. Anyways, thanks again for the great video! Think I’m gonna try a double batch now 😊.

I do. Just allow the cashier to bag the groceries like normal and then put the bags with the cold/frozen food into the cooler bags. When you get to the house, take the plastic bags out at the door. You’ll get ratings as a smart shopper.
I haven’t started shopping yet but was curious about bags! I know the app asks for you to have several insulated, but do you end up using plastic anyway? How does that work?

I agree that double and triple batches are just not worth it for the payout. It’s very rare to have two great tippers. One is usually low and one mid-range. It’s tricky when we are trying to value our time/driving/etc! Sometimes I take them just to take something if there’s nothing else, but I’m always second guessing that it was worth it; especially bc they always take me at least a full hour!
I rarely accept double batches,. It's all about the payout and a lot I see is not worth my time.

It’s really difficult to find a 1 service order in my area. Usually most orders are 45 minutes from me.
Especially when it's two different stores because how do you keep the food fresh?

I use Post-it notes tabs to help me separate double orders. However the dots sounds like a better idea 😅

where i shop at schnucks in STL the small carts are actually kind of big so I grab them for the double orders, and theres a lot of room on the top and the bottom, which is how i seperate them. I open my notes app on my phone and type in what im doing, like: A- bottom B- top. Then when I check out I put the smaller one in paper which goes in my trunk (type this into notes app) and the second one in plastic which goes in my back seat in my cooler bags. It's great because you dont really have to tell anyone you're with instacart because theres no barcode to scan, and all the stores are setup similar so sometimes it says estimated time 1:10:00 and I can get through it in about 25 minutes. (I almost used to work at one :))

What happens if the customer wants you to leave their order on their steps. You take everything out of the insulated bags and leave it on the steps so they have to bring in everything individually?

Hi, Steph. This will be my first time doing Instacart. I am already doing Uber Eats on the weekends, I do Shipt at least once a month, I'll be doing the same for Instacart at least once a month too, I just wanted to see how it works.
Instead of taking my purse or wallet in, i just take my IC card and put it in my pocket so I'm not carrying a bunch of my own stuff. Keys go in a pocket as well. Double order batches like this...the 8 item order goes into the baby seat area and since the othet order has more items, it gets the entire rest of the cart. Also sometimes what I do is just take one cooler bag and place it at the very front of the cart. That would be for A. The rest of the cart is for B. That way during checkout, order A is already at the front for unloading.

If instacart let you know whose items are which right before paying I think it would be easier to handle the double order at checkout. It would be a lot better to check again at checkout especially if you only have one cart to try to separate the orders.

I learned my lesson the hard way about letting the cashier bag. I thought it was great to let someone else do the job for me but then I got a complaint that the hamburger buns have gotten squished

Can you do self check out for instacart?
I like the triple batches, I must be the odd one out. My only problem is the delivery order they chose is whacked. I shopped an order that had one delivery right by the store, and two farther away. Guess which delivery was last? The order right by the store.....
How low of a raiting can u go with insta fart. Mine went down to 4.61 ouch
As a Instacart customer I have had “extras” accidentally delivered to me several times. I’ve always assumed the shopper accidentally delivered someone else’s item to me. At first I would notify them and leave it on the porch in case they wanted to pick it up but they never did.
I just started, but once I hit items delivered it gets rid of the chat.

See since I’m still new I try to avoid the double batches but I did take one double batch that only had 14 items total so that was easier for me

Simple. Stop taking doubles/triples until instacart pays accordingly and counts each order as a batch on promotions.
