I played TALL in CK3 to get FILTHY RICH!

- I formed the Mali Empire with Mansa Musa's Keita Dynasty in 867AD using a tall style strategy, rushing for 100 learning a high level in stewardship while also making heavy use of the new Crusader Kings 3: Tours & Tournaments events. I also go for the achievement, the Iron and Golden King. How much money will we be able to generate by the end of the video?

Ah, this must be the African prince who keeps emailing me. 🗿
Love it 😂

If I told you that a Brazilian politician fell for the African prince's email scam, would you believe it?

A fun one is to hybridize Croatian and Hungarian cultures and max out light cav buildings so you have Koni and Horse Archers, melt enemy armies, and have super easy wars.
I mean... he is in AFRICA.....
@@Zigorel He asked for other fun playthroughs...
@@PasOdMater oh, okay. I get it. My bad.
@@Zigorel np
No no do it with sloviens. They live right beside the mogyers. More practical
I believe this is the first time I have watched one of your playthroughs. All I can say is that I'm truly impressed. I love that you do just a drop of Roleplay in the beginning but the main part is focused on Over Powered game play. If your videos are mostly like this one I would be more than happy to subscribe to your channel. Have a great day.
Thanks for the comment and insight, seems like my top ones are and this is what people want to see!
@@MellowScot I believe CK3 is divided into 2 kinds of players. The Roleplay people and the power gamers. If I wanted to watch people role play I would watch many many other games played. I am here to learn how to dominate the game.
Then when I watch play through I want to see people build up and rule fast and strong. Even if they are playing modes like GOT Modes. Show me how powerful you can be. Don't play your traits. Play to win and accomplish as much as possible in the course of 1hr or in multiple series.
I want to know how to do achievements easy or make gold fast. Best ways to change your culture to be Over Powered. How to make the best religions. That is fun for me.
This video gives you a glimpse at how to go over powered on gold. Thank you. Subscribing now.
Lol you value your subscription too much kkkkk
In fact you can play has the direct son of Mansa Musa with the mod "More bookmarks" but anyway, if you're interested a very good start with this mod is basileus Andronikos II for saving the byzantine empire. Also thanks for your videos, you do great job❤❤❤
Need to give it a try!
@@MellowScot Also recommend downloading R.I.C.E., I had loads of fun playing in Oghuz-Il area, and creating the empire of Turan & Persia. I gave one of my children Persia, and made sure to use the hook to be a permanent ally (I did cheese it though, like, every time power went down the lineage, I debugged a hook just so I can always keep them as an ally)
A very fun playthrough is creating Switzerland. It can obviously be done in both 867 & 1066, but, I found 1066 is more beneficial. I like creating a character and replacing Count Ulrich of Bern, I always like going the Diplomacy route (within the 400 point limit, you can get level 3 Diplo, either Quick or Comely, Diligent, Temperate, and either Gregarious or Calm. But I do like to slightly go over and give myself poet, and loyal) You need the duchies of Transjurania, and Currezia, however, there's an optional third duchy (and I always go for it anyway, since it'll be De Jure), the Duchy of Savoie. Once you hold all three, you can take the "Switzerland Federation" decision and well, you create Switzerland. I also like to hybridize with Cisilpine to get the Roman Traditions (you can also hybridize with any Frankish culture as well) which will give you the hidden "Swiss" culture. From there, I of course also love to be apart of the Crusade and make one of my children the beneficiary. If we win etc, my child obviously gets Jerusalem. This is where I really cheese it, because, I want them to be successful and create a huge Jerusalem lol so I'll use Debug and switch to them, and basically hyper-upgrade all their buildings, make their military strength powerful. ANY other time I wouldn't do it, but, Jerusalem is just an insanely hard place to be lol unless you're a player... I tested it without doing this, and they just get squished. Especially when the Jihad is called. Which also, I make sure to be their #1 ally.
Basically my playthrough with Switzerland is to be the HRE's most powerful vassal. I don't want to be the Emperor in this playthrough. And now... with Tours & Tournaments, my goal is to make a university and basically from a RP standpoint, I want Switzerland to be the land where people go to get great education, and to have the grandest Grand Tournament(s).
I really enjoyed the video! Such an interesting run! Loved how you stacked all the bonuses to become a god amongst men
I know, who needs exploits when you can just get 100 level stats normally right? 😂
Entertaining, I was surprised you didn't have atleast 10x the subscribers with the quality. Subscribed, wish you the best.
thanks a bunch! hopefully will hit that at some point once I've made a few more videos
I’ve unconsciously been wanting this video lmao
Haha glad I was able to provide!
🙏🙏 tack!
Excellent editing! I started my musa playthrough yesterday without realizing😂😂
Thanks a bunch! Sure you’ll have fun it’s a great campaign to try
Amazing content as per usual! Would love to see you play some roman playthrough, maybe using the The Fallen Eagle mod or just restoring roman culture/religion. It's a fairly common playthrough but you make significantly better content than most others in my opinion so I would love to see it :) and you could maybe use Marcus Aurelius' meditations for the roleplay or something similar
I really want to do one of these, I reckon hellenism a lot easier now cause of the new pilgrimages too so likely to go that route
More great content with the richest dynasty in the medieval world
Loved this video. Would love to see you do a video where you try to maximize knight effectiveness. So far I’ve managed to get it to over 600% but I’m aiming for over 700%
Yeah think that’s needed after doing the 100 prowess run!
Update: the number to beat is 900%. I have a screenshot to prove it 😎.
@@micahpickus5142 how many duchies can I hold before going bust?
@@MellowScotI held 3 duchies (Uppsala, Genoa, and Rome) with multiple rulers very comfortably. Also, I decided to hold Rome just because of the economic value after I dismantled the papacy but it's not that relevant since you can't put a military academy there. Regardless, 3 is very doable and at one point, I had solidified enough power that I briefly held a 4th just to see what would happen and nobody seemed terribly upset.
Love all your videos, i think adding captions to your videos will be a amazing addition
That’s a good idea, was thinking about doing this
Wakanda in real life
Well, Mali was very advanced for the time period
Great vid! 👍nice editing and a very interesting game! Might try going for a world conquest using this setup 🤔
Thanks a lot! Once you’ve got your economy established you can even switch out traditions and go for crazy knight effectiveness to make it even easier
How to get rich
1: Become a jew
I see
Well it’s meta 😂
Love the editing
Thanks a bunch!
@@MellowScot thanks for the reply I'm trying to get back to ck3 and your channel gives me motivation to come back for more, thanks for the hours of enjoyment
The main thing that made mansa Musa Rich is that law that all gold mines silver mines and copper mines and minting coins where under him and recalling to coins to be reminted and laying tax on that as well as his highly efficient anti forgery of coins laws made gold firmly under the government and as well not disclosing the gold production amount and reserves and related details prevented inflation from growing and insuring efficient goods production including industrial goods weapons and food production where consistent thus prices where same salaries where higher and the higher the goods production was the higher the salaries so all was good this allowed him to have a gigantic army very very large as well have High population density of his empire for the midieval period by a lot and add to that tariffs and customs on trade goods and trade including slaves ivory and salt he is even richer by a lot
Nice info thanks!
Be England. Take over everything. Tbh I dunno how entertaining a playthrough that would be, but that's my idea. Bonus points if you can do it as a female ruler and somehow live as long as possible. (I'd actually be interested in cheesy ways to live longer in CK3 just in general)
I already did british empire lol and that took long enough
That's impressive wow
that must toke over 20 hr of gameplay
I played mostly 5x so it didn’t take quite that long!
This guy is THE CK3 tall player.
I'd like to see you try and make Africa in its entirety the most developed continent. don't know how or if thats even possible yet, but it would be interesting to see.
can you upload the save game so I can play around with it? great video by the way. hope to see more soon.
Message me on discord if you want the save, I'm not likely to publicly upload
I'm gonna miss holding Niani's gold mine.
Fun fact:
The title "King of Gold and Iron" is based on king Ottokar II of Bohemia of Premyslid dynasty.Mightiest and Richest CZECH king to ever lived, second most influential bohemian king to live. Sadly for him Habsburgs and Pope screwed him over, otherwise czech republic would span from poland to italy
Nice vid man
sephardi characters can be found in (northern) Iberia
Yeah makes sense must have been out of diplo range
Basque Country please it has OP inheritance laws
You did it!!!! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Thanks!!
Lore of I played TALL in CK3 to get FILTHY RICH! Momentum 100
Great area to play, this has made me want to achievement hunt in this area
One great thing is now you can do it without ironman and with some mods on, makes stuff like lingua franca a bit less of a risk something goes wrong
You can increase your power if u get tens of heirs and all what you conquer as Mandig, u can give it to your bloodline. If u create the Reich of Mali, u will get crazy (CRAZY!) reknown.
Did I say crazy? CRAI-SEY!
Holy shit Ashkenazi Africa
Now I'm imagining a West African dialect of Yiddish
Fun game
Thanks!
Enjoyed watching this was great. How many hrs did the campaign take you?
I think about 8 or so but I was playing mostly on x5 speed
@@MellowScot figured it would have been awhile, I'm def going to give this a try.
Ok. Now how do I get rich in real life?
You don’t have a gold mine in your back garden!?
"Tall"
“Big”
Nice
Thanks!
Great video, would you make a video about the Tibetan empire.
Any interesting or cultures or traditions in that region to play? I already did the GuiyiCircuit recently which would have been a good pick
@@MellowScot i haven't thought of cultures or religion. I just suggested the tibetan empire because the tibetans were ambitous and warlike people. There's a video of the tibetan empire on youtube.
(The Tibetan empire: Silk road super power)
Hi
It's almost my grandmother's birthday.
Thanks for the video
are you by any chance using any mods? your game looks so crisp im jealous
It’s because it’s recorded in 4k and then you’re probably watching on a small window so it will look super sharp. This was a pure vanilla run
Great content! Is it possible to view entire gameplay? Thanks.
Unfortunately not - it would be hundreds of gigabytes of footage!
This is very random but I couldn’t help but laugh when I realised the capital was Timbuktu😂😂😂
bruh called medieval Europe “western powers”
don't know what I was thinking there, been playing a bit too much of Vicky 3 recently 😂 Although Byzantium maybe?
What does playing tall even mean? I thought it meant playing as a giant but clearly not lol
Focusing on boosting dev growth in your owned provinces as much as possible rather than rely on vassals from wide conquests (although some commentors seem to disagree 😂)
Did they remove the gold mine in Niani? That used to be the single best county in this region
One of the 3 gold mines is a city holding
Which hotkey to search the characters? i remeber this feature in ck2 but havent found in ck3. Also can you explain using a diplomatic wife to revoke titles
Sephardim culture? Kushite religion? That had nothing to do with mansa musa, i would say unfortunately that the challenge isn't met.... but i did enjoy the video!
Well the title of the video is just that I played with his Dynasty - if I did a replica of him it would have been boring gameplay
@@MellowScot but it would be harder and take much more time therefor more of a challenge. It would be much longer indeed but i don't think it would be boring as a video with the way you edit your videos. It might be very boring to actually play it that way as a playthrough. I myself are attempting a world conquest with morocco with almohad islam starting/ role-playing as Yusuf ibn Tashfin in 866 instead of 1066 and i can tell it takes a very very long time to achieve it in iron mode on the ps5. I did pick up some handy tips/ tricks in your video which are going to help me. So therefore i thank you sir and i did enjoy the video overal. Its very well done 👍
@@MellowScot i thought you where going to be role playing because real life Mansa Musa did play a tall game with the Mali empire
@@Ns-071 so I originally was going to do just that but the issue is my more roleplay style videos don't do as well as my more overpowered gameplay videos so I tried to mix in just a little bit of roleplay
@@MellowScot understandable
Ck3 Africa is the easiest way of becoming ridiculously powerful and rich. You can even reform the religion fairly quickly, which is very powerful beyond imagination.
not sure when playing tall began to mean controlling half a continent but ok
Is 300 gold a month really that crazy? In my second run ever, I ended up with 4200 gold a month. Sure, I had the entire world at that point but still. Playing "tall" seems very overhyped in the community to me.
at 1:25 Whats the overlay / addon that lets you see special buildings on the map like that, or is something that's come along with the new DLC as Ive not had a chance to play it yet
That’s called the “economic” overlay and yeah I think it’s new because I only discovered it part way into this campaign, before I used to have to bring up a map on another screen or use the province finder. This is quite a nice quality of life thing
@@MellowScot Thanks, I have maps saved that I used on my 2nd monitor to find special buildings and now I may not need
Playing tall?? You have lots of land.. you're king.. I wouldnt call this playing tall...
Let us see you playing tall as a powerful count or duke !
It's still the same playing tall strategy I'd use for Duke (already done that in a few vids already and even a single count province too) - just took it to the extreme with stewardship for this so I had an insane domain limit
@@MellowScot ah I didnt know :) awesome !
R-o-t-h-s-c-h-i-l-d
What's that music at around 4:38? Is it an in-game soundtrack?
That's Gaudeamus igitur
I tried emulating your start but didn’t get the +20% to development that you got from the ruler’s grand wedding modifier 🧐
did you check in the actual county? for some reason it doesn't show in the end screen for the wedding
Hmm I’ll double check but when I checked the modifiers I didn’t see it
@@micahpickus5142 hope they didn't nerf it!
@@MellowScot I found it!
I played wide and got +1000 closer to end of the game
if you do both tall then go wide it becomes pretty broken
@@MellowScot or go super wide and then spend like one ruler tall
Wtf be Norway doing? 💀
Nice game. Though I do not see here the annoying legitimacy loss for marrying a lowborn character.
1:59 Now yuo see
A question, what are the terrains of the baronies with the Mines?
Check the terrain mapmode on bottom left corner
Probably all mountains/hills
And i thought i was rich with my 48,000 thrace empire
This is not playing TALL but was cool nonetheless
Can you explain why not? The focus was on boosting development and the economy in a small number of counties within the domain limit and not really aiming to expand beyond the mali empire. I wouldn’t really say this is a wide strategy. If anything I’d say this is hybrid but starts out tall for the most part
I am not finding Sephardi people
The spawns are random
That’s good to know I am a new player only have played for about 2 weeks Z I chose to use the kingdom of Nubia
I had an affair with my own wife 😂
what mods do you use?
if you are not using any mods can you get ethnicities and portraits expanded mod and community flavor pack
I usually use those one’s but wasn’t sure what would break achievements, and I think some weren’t updated for the new dlc. I also like extended barbershop
you own half of africa and want to say that this is "tall"?
That isnt tall, you formed an empire
Thank you for the video! Greetings from the "one" Slavic country that should not be called... How did you find the map with all the special buildings? Is it a mod or something else? Thanks again, best wishes :3
it's part of the base game - the economic map view
