I wish everyone produced instructional video like this. Huge amount of info in 16 minutes. No fluff, no ummm's or stupid talk, and the camera - screen captures are truly top notch.
I'll be honest, 9 years drone pilot, just got my first fpv drone (Avata), thought I'd watch your video for a laugh, 'What can a random guy teach me that I don't know?'...Haha! Well, I now have a list of things to do before I make my first flight, thanks to your really useful video! Thank you :)
@@dangerous8333 Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I've been flying camera drones for almost 10 years and I know that I don't know everything and there are plenty of 'random guys' that know way more than I do.
The tip on the camera view setting alone made this vid worthy!, recording the OSD adds a whole new dimension, people can see what's going on with the aircraft etc. Thank you!
BEST channel for learning how to fly…no long stories, no bull, just straight to the facts! I’ve learned so much from you. Also, what a beautiful country you live in to fly! SUBSCRIBED!
@@TheDroneCreative It looks like a shot from Land of the Lost with Will Ferrell! Love it! I'm still training until I'm full on bad ass, then I'll get the sick bags out and try flying in real life.
I am very impressed with this video. I will be watching it several more time with my drone in hand. Very detailed information on setup. I own many DJI drones and still learned a lot watching this video.
Thank you, Matthew. I've been flying R/C for decades, but this is my first dive into FPV. Mine arrived yesterday and I didn't want to touch it until I could find a good video for setting up. This one is outstanding! Thanks again!
I’m waiting for my avata kit to be delivered, and this video was perfect for tips I’ll probably need and would’ve struggled to find. For that, I thank you, my friend.
I found this video too late. I had have my avata for a while now. I just learned about a few features despite owning the avata for a sometime. The tip about changing the RTH to hovering is really true. I lost my avata a few weeks ago (I already got a replacement) because when I lost the signal, the drone was coming back and hit a side of a cliff, falling 3000 ft to the ground. Great advice indeed. Great video as always. 🙌🏼
Superb work, fast paced and great information, makes a lot of sense too, love the idea of limiting auto iso and keep shutter speed and white balance set manually. Great advice here! Keep up the good work, you’re going from strength to strength in every video!
Soooooo many great tips! Thanks Matthew for arming me with what I needed before I flew the Avata. This is a must-see for anyone who has recently picked up this drone.
Great video, thanks. Just got my Avata with Integra and motion 2 controller. Had a short flight and loved it. Now I have a bunch of settings to look at, thanks.
I just added the Explorer Combo, and, the FPV Remote Controller 2, to my Fleet, and your video is the most informative, and insightful, that I have come across, by far! Thank you for saving me some time, heartache, and (hopefully) a couple of Care and Refresh claims, too! Keep up the excellent work, my friend! 💯
I'm enjoying your informative videos Matthew! One further point, I discovered the latest firmware is needed to be installed on the remote controller before it will link (bind) with the aircraft. You must use your PC or Mac with the DJI Assistant 2 for FPV to install the most recent firmware on the remote. 🍺Cheers!
Hi Matthew, I just picked up an Avata Explorer Combo. I will turn on all the features and follow your tips. I look forward to a day it is not raining to go out and test my Avata in an open field, for I know I will crash it like crazy, being so used to flying with a Mini drone. Thanks for the tips!
Thank you for the tips. I just got an Avata, may I know how to get the video from the SD card? This drone is not like Mini 3 pro, we can do Quick Transfer to phone without take out the SD card.
You can plug the drone into the computer using a USB to type-c cable and transfer the files that way, or you need to use a card reader with the SD card. Hope that helps!
Nice presentation right to the point good info nice and clear easy to understand. Thank You. I used a 5x8 card and made a nice cheat sheet to carry in my case.
It was the most detailed and informative review video I've watched since dji avata came out. In the review videos I watched before, I could not find any information especially for the recording part under the Camera title. A very successful review.
Auto record on take off? Frickin’ awesome. I’ve had my Avata for two weeks with no opportunity to take it out. Here comes the weekend. I will attempt to use the skills that I’ve acquired from your videos, thank you.
@@TheDroneCreative Well, I found a beautiful location within a few miles of home, gave my spotter clear instructions, went for an exhilarating flight, captured awesome footage - except not because I must have pressed record twice in a row. I’ve set auto record on takeoff now. Thanks for the tip!
Could you please do a video on how to place your goggles for each step of the IMU calibration. I have tried so many times to do the calibration but it fails every time.
Hello, the video is great, I also got a barely used Avata. In order to complete the DJI Care refresh, DJI requested a 4-step task, which I have to perform in the goggles V2 menu. How and where should it be set so that what I do inside the eyepiece in the menu is picked up. Currently, the memory card in the glasses only records what the drone sees. I would like your help
You are the PiXimperfect of Drones man!!! such awesome and super important content!!! thank you for great explanation, I hate to read manuals. How many hours do you feel that I can be ready to fly on real world? bought 2 days ago, I'm only experience on my Air2s
I read online that this drone has a emergency stop button. Do you know if this feature will make the drone stabilize and hover while it is falling out of the sky after a crash?
My dad bought one from DJI, and send it back the next day. Everything looks really nice, but the new 2 goggles are way to small for him. They sit against his nose, and no way (for now) to fix this problem. If you add more foam to the padding, the goggles will sit to far from the eyes, causing to make the field of view smaller. He does not get it that not more people are having this "to small" issue.
Are new goggles that comes with avata also dual band? Reason Im asking is that Im also flying vista quads and have my v2 goggles with non stock 5.8 ghz patches and stubies and was wondering if I can also using them flying my avata without compromising my video aignal range?
Next, check out this video where we look at a bunch of DJI Avata tips as well as some hidden features - ua-cam.com/video/MlAMbS4m0ts/v-deo.html

Flying a regular camera drone and an fpv drone are entirely two different things. Why would your experience with regular camera drones matter...

There's a lot I could say of the new DJI Avata but first things first! The transmission is really incredible with this drone!

Glad I could help! Enjoy the Avata - you will have a blast!
For me, raising the altitude of the RTH is a must before you fly for the first time.
Thanks! I'm glad DJI made an easier and safer to fly drone! It's the best type to try new flight tricks with!
This drone is not designed for freestyle. So just a heads up you may be disappointed.
Excellent video. Descriptive and easy to follow. Thank you
This was awesome! Thanks for the thorough explanation. Really helped me take off 😊

I read online that this drone has a emergency stop button. Do you know if this feature will make the drone stabilize and hover while it is falling out of the sky after a crash?
Will the dji apps allow you to register this drone with the faa or is that something that has to be done outside of the app?
assuming you can't activate manual mode with the joy stick , do you need the controller/
You can't fly manual with the joystick unfortunately!

Do all these setting reset each time? Or will it keep those settings the next time you fly?
Does this work for the motion controller? I’m a newbie 🤷♂️
Is it possible to change the battery percentage at which RTH kicks in please?
How do you transfer the image of the glasses to another screen? I need an explanation of the courses. What is the link used?
Question, can you only view playback when you have a recording on the goggles? Unlike other DJI drones that you can watch it on the Fly app?
I found initial DJI firmware updates run smoother when done on a pc. #justsayin 👍

You should always leave EIS to off to be able to use GyroFlow, otherwise the drone won't record sonsor data.
Also I have the original goggles with the screw in antennas and I don't see an option to record showing the heads up display.
Please tell me theres a way to have a recorded video without popping out the SD card and without plugging in usb c on that slot in the avata.
