This right here is gold.. new to bow hunting here and this was a genius explanation of broadhead functionality to someone who’s ignorant to all this!

This year I'm hunting out of a ground blind. I have killed two does so far. For the first I used a REK broadhead XP. The Deer was quartering towards me a little. The head opened on contact and gave me a 2-inch cut but exited after passing through one lung the liver and the guts. The exit hole was huge! But I had no blood trail. I was still able to find the deer and recover it after about 100 yards. The second deer was perfectly broadside at 15 yards. For that deer I used the B3 Exo 2 blade which is a forward opening broadhead. I got a full pass through going through the "vital V" got both lungs and got a 2-inch exit hole. Again, no blood until about 45 yards then I had an okay blood trail, and the deer went about 80 yards with no lungs. Both worked like they should have. The REK was in perfect condition and was able to be reused. The B3 needed new blades due to them bending and dulling out badly. I will still both of them, however the REK is going to be my main head. All this to ask if you could do a video about how blood trails work from hunting from a tree stand compared to the ground blind? I would like to know if it is truly better to have a tree stand over a well-placed blind. (I feel like I'm not getting the blood trails due to the angle of the shots)

Very well done video and one that needed to be done…can’t say I have saw this explained and if so definitely not so simple and well….i shoot the G5 Mega meat and have for four years killed an elk a year and also a deer with them…always a devastating blood trail to the downed animal…great video bud…thank you😊

I think this is misinformation....think about it...what takes more energy, a 3 blade 2" cut head being pushed through a hide OR 2 blades being pushed thru a 1" cut?

Swackers have never let me down! Simple, proven and effective also about 25 bucks cheaper than the G5s

no need to WASTE energy and dull blades on a large high side entry hole that wont bleed out anyway. save all the precious energy to ensure a low side exit hole that will bleed out very quickly.

I fully get your concept BUT...... you used the wrong front deploy to do this. This head opens in the cavity past the hide, ribs, and opens inside the body. Idk how we say this head loses so much energy bc how do we test this head??? I agree the entry is small. Can't lie there bc the wing blades are aren't big. To compare this head to any front deploy imo is not Apple to Apple bc every other front deploy opens on blade/hide contact. Does this head open that way? No. If you watch any video of Lusk on front deploys this beats them all from what I've seen. This head is a hard one to say "how much does it take to open" bc it doesn't open on hideor ribs. The length of the furrel and if you used them ever mostly every one I've used only has the wing blades through ribs on skinning the game on entry side. Hence the only reason I still use this head bc it's a in the middle of the road from front deploy to rear deploy.
I fully agree most rear deploys take much less than a front deploy hence why I still use rage hypodermic with collars bc small profile and work. I still use this head some bc it's NOT a normal front or over the top deploy.
