  • Vesper peak is a beautiful peak in the northern Cascades off the mountain loop highway. I finished off the summer climbing season with one of the best day hikes in the state, enjoy!

    Love it! Thanks for sharing. I’ll be out that way next June, and I’m researching all of the possibilities! This looks amazing!

    It was one of my favorite scrambles back in the day. I have been up there any times. Thanks for the visual reminder.

    Thanks for sharing your hike. I often enjoy the view of Vesper peak from Spada lake while kayaking. My 69 year old knees won’t let me hike it so your video allowed me to enjoy the hike from my chair. Thanks again.

    Just found your channel. Been years since I did Vesper. We climbed the 5th class face on other side. Was a hard day. Had to descend a steep snow field to get to the rock face. Not hard climbing but very little protection. Falling was not an option. Too old and disabled now. Bag those peaks while you can.

    Got to give you credit for another hard hike, of all the four-thousand-foot gain trails I did back in my younger days I would say that one was the hardest, probably because of the trail condition like you mentioned.

    Love Vesper Peak and Foggy Pass. Lots of mystery around it following the 'Sam Ayers'? Missing case. Lots of gullies to vanish in, and if she was seen heading down the wrong side of the pass that's a lot of jungle to the sultan river basin. Reminds me sort of all the death surrounding Sauk Mountain

      It's an intense area, that's why I always recommend having multiple means of navigation

    "It's steep, yeah, but I've done steeper!" she said, cheerily, looking ahead to five hundred feet of straight up. OMG, I would have turned around! LOL

    Just found your channel and subscribed...it is excellent and fun. The first hike I saw was Mt St Helens. I love that area. I am from Washington state now on the Oregon Coast. But love all the beauty of the mountains I see you hiking. You make it look so fun and exciting to be out there in the forest trails etc. Are you concerned about cougars and snakes? thats what I fear seeing......Love the channel. and will continue watching your adventures.

      Not really scared of snake, we don't have many to worry about on the west side of the state, and rattlesnakes are pretty chill
      I carry bear spray for large animals. I'm not scared of wildlife, prepared, but I try not to worry about it since it's so rare

    How's the road and parking lot for this trail? Would a small sedan like my Civic be able to make it?

    Any bears?

    • @wanderingwashington
      @wanderingwashington  10 місяців тому +1

      No, but there are black bears in this area and the rest of the cascades so it's always important to be prepared for bears
