@heartoutofhell when i was an electrician in the navy, they taught us to wire outlets like this. that way, if water leaked in from somewhere it would make contact with the ground first, usually popping the breaker, and preventing anyone standing in water from getting electrocuted.
VOS Systems, a company which makes award-winning speech recognition hardware, is the company behind this product. It is actually listed in the AbleData database as an assistive device.
wow this is awesome...I bet you could use whatever sayings you wanted to control the lights when you program it. Like using one word sayings or whatever. I'm gonna keep an eye out for one of these...I'm surprised you don't see more tech like this.
I’m from the future. I’m here to tell you that you only have to wait about 3!years and you can control all the lights in your house with your voice... from anywhere in the world. You’re gonna love it.
@antivirus347 Yes I can attest to this as well. It happened to me with the one in the video. I unplugged it and tried another outlet and it worked. I have used it since the original time that I posted this video and it still works fine. I use it every day and people really love it.
@benjiTUTS Good catch I never saw it there before. And at a good price. I tried to buy another one and when I clicked on "add to cart" I got "vossystems" is not a recognized account. I guess the only place is still ebay.
These things are really cool! Sadly they are all very sensitive when it comes to the current. Some outlets will cause the interface to go into an endless loop, easy fix tho, just unplug it and plug it into another one!
would you be willing to sell this or know where i can find one. cant find it on ebay. I can send you a secure payment on paypal right this second for it. please let me know. thanks

I just ordered one of these. I am so excited to get it. Thanks so much for making this video. I can't wait to open mine and get started using it!!
I have a similar setup using always listening OK Google, Philips Hue, and Tasker. This has inspired me to add audible feedback.

You have a lovely home.
Much appreciated!
My room needs it!
Awesome review, very informative and clear.
Thank you.
This can only work for normal lightbulbs. The voice recognition is impressive being built-in to the unit and not using the cloud.
Thanks for this review

Thank you very much for this, it was very helpful :-)
Outlets that are upside down are controlled by a wall switch.

I cannot believe they made it in like the 90s the modern day equivalent will be Amazon echo and Google home

Alexa's got nothing on this! :P
take the 2 screws out that hold the recepticle in and flip it 180 degrees...that's all you have to do to "right" the plug in.
