Hey Peter and thanks. I worked 4-5 years at a warehouse driving a forklift and receiving and sending gods, signing off on papers. Luckily I have brought the routine with me in my private life. Also I film everything so almost everything gets documented. 😊😊 Just glad ProSpeed took the job of the claim, could have been a nightmare to get through to a big currier.
Thank you very much! Glad you like the videos and the channel! :) Yeah, I don't know what to think, just glad I got it sorted without any more issues. :)
After waiting so long for delivery your frustration is totally justified. Any experienced shipper should know that international transportation of goods requires appropriate packaging because it will take a beating. Glad it worked out after such a long wait!
Yeah, told ProSpeed that the packaging was to weak and I think I remember them saying that the currier handles the packaging also. Not sure but I let them know what I though. 😊 Thanks, glad they sorted it quickly and sent a new one. 😊
Nooooooooo. I’ve been waiting for so long to see the prospeed install. Can’t believe the courier delivered a package in that condition . Glad you got it sorted quickly, Simon. Can’t wait to see part 2!
Sorry to bring the bad news Rich, 😂😂 Glad they sorted it pretty quick. I think the problem is that no one wants to take responsibility. The main carrier was TNT, but the Norwegian company Bring took over from Oslo and then another sub carrier under Bring delivered it. DHL is so much better, they never miss a beat, and I have been using them for 8 years now. Part two will be out soon, will work on it this week. 👍😊
my story, brought a 2008 d3 se, great looking car with perfect body, good service history and 0 oil leaks, all upgrade have been done like alloy coolant pipe, transmission flush and timebelt. first 500kms of driving it caught fire, alternator shot itself. burn engine wiring, was cover by insurance so had that fixed by landrover dealer, took then 3.5 months to get parts, then for 4 more months I had compressor go bad landrover dealer drove it with no air and broke wheel wells aswell. had that fixed then they spent the rest of the 4 month chasing electric issues, even tho it was fine and was only egr problem. I fixed it and now it's been good for a month. I got unlucky with the alternator and the dealers negligence. I service my car now.
Oh my, that’s a long time of waiting for parts. 😳 And yeah, you definitely had some bad luck there with the alternator and it catching fire. Wheel wells, which size tires are you running?
Hehe, I haven't tested but I think it would. It's propper steel tubing so something big had to have dropped on it or a forklift has done something with it. With it mounted on the roof the structure will become even stiffer so should handle a fair bit. Rated to 250kg dead weight. But I will definitely try to steer clear of the low-hanging trees. :)
Really felt for you Simon. It is heart breaking when this happens. Just so glad that pro speed came through for you 👍Horrible noise when that bolt sheared 😱and you were using a torque wrench too. I am sure it will be worth it all in the end and having seen the install I know it will be as they look great. 😁😎
The pin was real but it gets you appreciating serious companies that steps up and deliver great service along side their products. 👍😊 Yeah, I should have stopped and cleaned the threads more. Was to eager to get it on. 😅 Learned my lesson. They really look the part and have been praised by so many so think it’s a good choice. 👍😊
Gutted to see that happen. Had similar on my d2 with front and rear HD bumpers. Turned up battered and scratched by courier. Company sorted it reasonably quickly though 👌
Ouch, I can only imagine the disappointment on arrival. Glad you got it sorted. 👍 I wonder what they are doing with our stuff, it’s pretty solid stuff too, how do they manage to damage them so badly. 🤔
@@LandRoverDrive no idea. Mine were 6mm steel. No dents but lots of paint damage. Some through to bare metal. Not bad for under 24hrs in transit. Love the vids BTW. Looking at getting a d3 v8. Getting some good ideas from your channel
Bare metal is as bad, rust and the time needed to fix it. I’m glad you like the channel, it’s always great to hear and helps motivate me to make more videos. Loads of more videos of the D3 is coming as I’m making it my main overland rig. So a lot of modifications will be filmed in the next year. 👍 New wheels are lying in the driveway as we speak. 😉
Really frustrating to see - sadly it happens so often as the perception is people want couriers to be as cheap as possible and so corners are cut. In the UK, we have several notorious offenders that make your heart sink if the seller is using them - I will now not do business with companies who use Hermes or UK Mail (and do not offer me the option to pay for a more reliable courier) Great to see Prospeed came through for you though - when I used them a few years ago for parts for my old Disco 3, they were fantastic to deal with and supplied high quality parts (tree sliders in my case)
Thank you, the service has been great, need to mount all the parts first to see but I don’t have any doubts to their quality. “The internet” seams to be very satisfied with their products and now I can’t wait to get to mounting everything. 😊 I’m starting to learn now that you get what you pay for, so I save up a bit longer and buy once instead of buying cheap and get annoyed down the line. 😊 I will not be using TNT any more if I can help it. Thanks again! 👍
Wow you've great patience 👍 I know when I bought my roof tent it had all sorts of problems with manufacturing and delivery. They offered to replace it but they didn't have any stock left so the replacement wouldn't have arrived until after my planned trip 🤬 glad you got yours sorted 👍
Oh no, that got to have hurt, not getting in time for the trip. 😠 Probably a lot of expectations for the trip as well with the new setup and then no. ☹️ I’m not a patient man and with poor planning skills it’s not a great combo. But this time I was going to do it right and then it all went sideways real quick. Also glad it was sorted quickly by Prospeed, good service and with the arrival of the second rack you can see my relief. 😅😁
@@LandRoverDrive in the end I had to modify the item they supplied, which included drilling holes in the base to reposition the hinges. Then on our france trip the telescopic ladder broke and the zip broke on the tent transport cover.
Ey ey ey, I would have been furious. I hate when things don’t work as they meant to, maybe the thing I hate the most, being hardware or software for that matter. 😠 I hope the trip was great non the less, I have never been to France so maybe due time. 😊
@@LandRoverDrive I was not pleased to put it mildly, but the trip more than made up for it. So much so 9 years later we decided to move to France. So if you're ever in the neighbourhood 👍
Hehe, that's awesome. I will keep that in mind, always good with some local knowledge when traveling. Discussing a drive to Spain next year so we will see. :)
I was having a new boiler fitted a few weeks ago but when the guys unboxed it the boiler looked like it had been dropped from the top floor of a skyscraper. Looks like they had simply put it into another box but why they thought my installer would fit it is beyond me. Looking forward to seeing the replacement in a few weeks!
I hear you. 😊 If they were a bit closer I would have been on their doorstep pretty quick. Ordered from the Uk so had no choice but to wait. 😕 Luckily they sent the new one as fast as they could. 👍 I picked up a trick, not to long ago, that you are allowed to be super bummed out for 30 minutes if something happens, and then after 30 minutes you must reboot and get on with it and either fix it or forget about it. For material simple things like this I mean, annoying things, not human things. 😊
Get bummed out is an understatement , I turn into the Hulk but instead of green glow red with rage lol, bought a bed from a UK shop and waited 8 weeks, turned up with no headboard why oh why would the company deliver part order? waited months for it then when it did turn up had a dent in the middle ( wooden headboard ) so had another months of wait ( Vietnam to UK ) eventually good condition I did get £100 discount and a £80 voucher ( spent it on 2 pillows ) so made up for it. I always think why oh why does it happen to me lol
Hey! The rubber cam with the rack already mounted. I guess you can use a door seal or something similar, would guess it was made from the same stuff. There is definitely no rattling noises from the rack so it’s a good design. 👍😊
Definitely a major complaint to the company who brought this to you, sub contractor or not, it IS HIS job to maintain good state of his cargo, and also for those putting it on the truck!!! Hopefully this video will show others that the delivering company is NOT worth using!!!
@@LandRoverDrive Happy to read that... and if you can, make sure you do them some damage in return by spreading those issues anywhere you can... Might help others that use them... you never know... 🤷♂
Thank you! It's coming in part two. Working on finishing up the videos today. I end up drilling it out step by step. ;) Like I did with the Defender Exhaust Manifold Bolts -> ua-cam.com/video/tigMwA9L8as/v-deo.html :)
Is it just me who get bummed out when stuff goes sideways? 😅😅
That's a blow that nobody would like, but good on you for documenting it all and putting the claim in to have it replaced.

You wouldn’t survive in Hawaii 😢. Because paying top dollar for busted sub par stuff is the norm here.
