    TRJ is a billionaire in chops.
    He’ll probably never be able to play to his full capacity in his lifetime.
    In my opinion, he is definitely one of the worlds top drum kit players.
    According to my perception, he scores 💯 in mastering all that it takes to play a drum kit.
    I suspect he is at the level where he can almost instantly play whatever he can imagine.
    Great player!

    What a great drummer. Looks like he has been pumping iron but he is still a fluid drummer.

    What's with the Laser's Gun sound effect's. & the pop hip hop sound's. Through the Octapad. Tony is a all round. Empire Drummer Like Eric Moore. I just don't get it??. Tony Royster JR. Has alway's just been. Great with out Laser beam's. & Hip Hop & Bop till U Drop Octapad sound effect's. I did enjoy his Pure Energy Drum Solo. Way More then this one. It would have to be his Number 1 Drum Solo. His 12,04% Extreme then this. Were is the Old Tony Royster JR Gone????????.

    I like TRJ but he seemed more musical as a kid. Speed, chops is undeniable but give me Chris Coleman✌

      Well watch a video where he isn't advertising gear. Coleman is not on Royster's level.

      @@ND-iz6dd I prefer Chris Coleman’s playing, but I have no idea who wins the chop competition between the two (not that it really matters).

    I wish I had 1/10 of his chops, but I can't hear any music in this. It starts and stops and starts and... Where is the music, continuity or expression? To me is sounds like someone threw a drum kit down the stairs. It's so easy to criticise, and so hard to DO, I know. Explain it to me someone!

    • @sticktrik
      @sticktrik 8 років тому +4

      I'm going to explain it to you!!....Tony Royster is a
      very technical proficient drummer that's a good fact!
      If you have been following the drum market as a
      business it has been saturated with hundreds of
      companies trying to sell a product! That is what
      T.R. is doing!! selling a product for D.W. drum
      company!! It has become less about music
      and more about selling drums by displaying the
      Olympic chops someone like Royster possesses!!!
      The younger generation is being sucked in to
      this illusion!!!! When was the last time you have
      seen a 16 year old pick up & play a pair of brushes
      "MUSICALLY" in a UA-cam video!!! Not gonna happen!! IMO...Tony Royster, Thomas Pridgen
      etc are poster boys for the D.W. drum company!!

    • @Skinslayer1
      @Skinslayer1 8 років тому

      I hadn't thought of it that way. You are probably right. But with the technique he has, why not play musical, rhythmical solos? I like Thomas Pridgen's bass-drum work, especially with The Mars Volta, but, while I admire his chops, for me, his solos aren't musical either. I watch these guys for a while, but I always return to Buddy Rich!

      +truthbtold Well, the Bag Show IS a marketing event :-D

    • @trecoolmania
      @trecoolmania 7 років тому +1

      Your actually completely correct without knowing it. He has a very stiff almost non musical way of playing as opposed to someone like dave wekle for random example, but obviously his chops and technical playing is just insane.

    • @flacidhouse350
      @flacidhouse350 7 років тому +4

      This is at a drum festival, which are pretty much just about chops and gear. Royster's expressiveness and musicality are second to none. Check out him playing caravan or The Chicken, or most anything with a full band. He is a monster. No one alive can match his playing in any respect.

    This is like walking through downtown Tokyo at night. A sensory overload that you can’t wait to get away from.
    There’s a load of noise and zero music.
