- Despite the tremendous growth and penetration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), people living with disabilities have continued to experience significant barriers while accessing and utilizing these ICTs. International commitments, such as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), that emphasize the inclusion of persons with disabilities in at least five goals have led to only negligible success in fostering digital inclusion for persons with disabilities.
In December 2023, to commemorate the International Day for Persons with Disabilities, we hosted experts in a discussion on developments aimed at improved digital inclusion for persons with disabilities. Find the framework here: cipesa.org/?dl_...
The day also served as the platform for the launch of the CIPESA Disability and ICT Accountability Framework Indicators.
