Ern, while I love the 737 videos, there is something special about these Cirrus ones….probably the fact you are part 91 and can film it! Would love to see more of he cirrus videos.
A 4:50 leg from KGFK to KEGE??? Damn, man...you're a better pilot than me! My limit in GA is about two hour legs then I need to set down, get out, walk around and give my lower back some time to stretch. Cool video, sir...
Hey Ern! I'm a ramp sup in SJC working on my private pilot with the goal of one day returning to SWA in the cockpit! If you're ever in SJC, I'd love to say hi!
Hey Patjvm! That’s awesome! Make sure to check out our D225 cadet program too. It’s a great opportunity. I’ll be highlighting more of that program soon. Keep up the hard work my friend either way and I’m confident I’ll see you in the cockpit one day. Cheers!
Hi Ern. Eric here from Down Under. Love your videos, watch them all. Great to see a professional pilot in the Cirrus. I appreciate the amount of work that goes into each video. I own an SR22T G6 same color. I've adopted the name "Green Hornet", now there's a "green Hornet"" in Australia too.
Hey Eric! Man that’s awesome to hear👍🏽. I’m hoping to head down under soon. I’ve always wanted to visit. I bet it’s a blast to fly around down there. Cheers!
Also, one other thing….would you ever be into the idea of doing a breakdown of the Cirrus costs in your particular situation? I know you have a partner, and of course, we tend to be private about these things, but if you could ever do a video breaking down how you wrote the partnership, costs, etc etc, I think a lot of pilots would find it very helpful. Thanks man!
Great video in the green Hornet LUV it. Saw a familiar smile today in the News Brief regarding Destination 225. Great program. As always safe travels ✈️
Good Afternoon! I really appreciate your videos, your positive attitude, and your support for aspiring aviators! You’re an excellent communicator and a great representative of our aviation community! Mark-Cessna 310 driver (KDVT).
I am in Denver and I wish u could be in Denver and also I flew Southwest Airlines southwest is so awesome and kind I hope I get to meet u soon u are the best
It's great to learn new aviation jargon in every video. Btw I could tell you are a retired Air Force pilot from spotting the C-130 aircraft. P.S.- I love the mountains in Colorado too.
Love your posts, Ernie! Very professional, informational, and just "plane" fun! Thanks for being a great advocate for aviation. Upward and onward, brother!
Big Ern! Love the videos, a big inspiration to me as a Purdue pilot (Freshman, 200+ hours PPL working on CPL+IR). Currently I'm at tech school for the USAF (Air national guard) to be an A10 crew chief to help with college tuition and hopefully get a guard pilot slot. I am at Sheppard in TX until October, and after this I will go to Davis Monthan until Mid November for hot training with active A10s. I'd love to meet you somewhere out in Arizona if possible! I won't have my car out there unfortunately, but hopefully we can figure something out and possibly go fly!
Amazing ! I would've liked to see how you shot all those approaches and having a visual on the map (vnc as you did them vfr), but, always refreshing to watch your videos, stay save !
Thank you for the great video. Video suggestion, Just in case one of my kids want to be a pilot or airline pilot, maybe you can do a video on how on money side…? Oh how much each type step will cost n so on. Thank you again.
In the States, are you able to use your company checks for your IFR rating currency or do you have to get a seperate check? I am always amazed at all the towered airports in the States
@@FlyingwithBigErn thanks Ern I appreciate the response. I’m thinking of doing some product reviews while utilizing the same and speaking while demonstrating the item. I’ll probably go very simple for UA-cam and just use my iPhone with a mic and some positioning item for my viewers. I won’t be anywhere near paramount studios like yours so I’m trying to keep things as simple as possible yet clear and informative like yours. 😎
Hello Big Ern. My wife and I live just about a mile east and just across the freeway from KSDL. We have been here since 1997. A Vietnam veteran at age 75 and with some medical issues, I have but regrets. One is never following through on my dream to get my private pilot's license. Timing and opportunity never were in sync. My other regret is never finishing my MS degree (your words on getting a 4 year degree were spot on. Your approach to flying, your career, your family, and your way making your way through life is very admirable. I can tell it comes from your experiences. Kudos for making it real. (My flight sim and I are as real as it gets for me). One question. What are the maximum hours of flying that your job as Captain can do in a given week? Thank you!
Another great video, thanks to you picking that color, I have the exact one coming this November. If you dont mind can you type out everything that comes in that black bag when you take possession in Knoxville, trying to figure out what I need to buy? Thanks again for the videos :)
Hey Mark! Congrats on your new Cirrus! It’s actually pretty extensive but here is a great video for reference: ua-cam.com/video/0YtG_59_g2E/v-deo.html In short, your plane pretty much comes with everything you would need. The only thing I really purchased was a couple of Precision Flight O2 conservers from the gift shop. If you have a private hanger then I would look at Best Tugs for a tug. We have ours in a corporate hanger so no need for it yet. Best of luck and get ready for a cool delivery experience👍🏽 Cirrus does it right for their owners.
@@FlyingwithBigErn thank you for that info. The one item that seems to show up in some black bags and not in others is the Starter PAC, the yellow box, it’s basically a GPU, did you get that?
My personal opinion is to take advantage of the best opportunity you can find, instead of taking mental ownership of a model you’ve convinced yourself you’re in love with, personally, I think every aircraft has attributes you can learn to love. Kinda like a woman. 😂
It was a long process for sure. Ultimately my buddy and I selected the Cirrus for its safety features, speed and support. I may make a video on our process because it would be too long to list here. Cheers!
LOL, when you getting ready to taxi, you started to say "South--ugh Cirrus" LOL
During my instrument checkride today while shooting approaches into KCGZ, I heard you on the radios Big Ern! Passed btw!
Great job!
Congrats on getting your IR!
Congrats Tom! Great to hear about your checkride! That was Doc Sam on his checkride prep.👍🏽
The Green Hornet is one sweet ride! I love the ride-a-longs.
Haven’t been commenting too much as you get busy, but still watching! Appreciate all the videos!
What a sweet little plane! I've learned so much about flying from your experiences, and so enjoy all your videos. I am a total avgeek!
Starting my 60 week program from 0hrs to CPL in two weeks. True inspiration, thanks Ern 🙏🏾😊
Fabulous Ern love you brother big time ❤
Ern Hello! This was a beautiful flight....with amazing views! Great work Ern;)) Many thanks again! Enjoy your weekend.....warm greetings Betsy.......

3:19 you almost said Southwest as your call sign instead of Cirrus😂😂 great video Ernie!
Always a pleasure watching your videos. You walk the talk, You are the man!
Great video, I think it's awesome that some airlines pilots still fly the smaller aircraft.
I couldn’t imagine not flying GA honestly. It’s just too much fun👍🏽
Thanks for the beautiful views Ern!

I love how you almost said "southwest" on ATC lol!
June 3rd? C'mon man! LOL. Just kidding. Love your stuff. Keep em coming!
Super video!! From one blue suiter to another thanks for your service!! Thanks for letting us ride along!!
Cheers Razor👍🏽
Great video. The view of the mountains over Colorado was fantastic.
I was assigned to GF out of boot camp in 1967, and in NOV, I immediately volunteered for Vietnam. This Calif boy could NOT take the cold.
Entertaining flight

Hey mate, thanks for your awesome videos. It's a pleasure watching you fly from across the pond here in New Zealand.
I definitely need to come out west and fly. Beautiful scenery!
This is awesome! Currently attending UND for aviation, super cool hearing the same controllers and seeing the airport.

"Surprise landing!" - were half of my landings while working on my PPL.

Hello! Can you look at some videos at the ZIBO 737 from Xplane? Would like to hear your take on it.
love the green hornet content Ern! keep it coming!! it helps me become more familiar with ATC communications as i get ready to start my PPL.
Glad to hear that! Congrats on starting your PPL👍🏽

The Cirrus is a Great plane, I’d flown one between 2006 and 2007.
Nice job with the placements of your cameras. Trip before the resurface I guess.
Thanks! Yes before the resurface but I have to say AvFlight has been taking great care of our plane in Mesa. Highly recommend those guys👍🏽
Worked with few controllers from UND. You able to catch a hockey game while your daughters there?
1:21 did I hear you say Pres-SKITTT? 😃🎊🎉
Great video. Next time you are at a high density altitude airport, would you go through your leaning process on takeoff? Curious flatlander. Thanks.
I’m going to UND in just a few weeks to continue my flight training. Awesome to see you pull into my new home turf!
Thoughts on school...considering applying for fall 2022
UND - Go Fighting Sioux!
Wouldn’t the flaps down create more drag and help to slow you down on the runway?

Good video idea czcait! I’ll work that in our list. Cheers!
WN is killing me! They're saying my flight is delayed 2 hours due to scheduled maintenance and going to miss my connecting flight, lol
Nice vid, great views, beautiful country! Something happened to your audio at your fuel stop. It faded out. Man avgas is expensive.
Thanks David! Yeah not sure what happens but probably user error😁. Man Av gas keeps getting more and more expensive too🙄
hi, nice video I have seen your videos with the green hornet, is that plane yours? and what type of mission do you use it for?

awesome
So big Ern at what altitude do you need the air to breath and how much does it give you.
Great video as usual, can you share what you use for your music, editing, intro, thumbnails for these videos? Thanks.
Hey X X! I’m using epidemic sounds for my music and Final Cut for editing. The thumbnails vary but usually created in Canva. Cheers!

Will you use the new unleaded fuel in the green hornet when approved for sale?
