My wife unexpectedly passed away a year ago November at the age of 51 and Enya's music has helped me out so much. Thank you Enya! (NOTE: Dec 23, 2023...Thank you everyone for your kind words, they do help, too.)

I'm in similar shoes....only that my wife crossed over 6 years ago and was a few years older. Certainly the most difficult stage of my life - especially the first 2 years. My comfort is what I've learned since her crossing. We all certainly go on past our physical "deaths" and there are perpetual joyous reunions on the other side. Mysteries abound. ♥to you. Go easy on yourself.

I have been sending the seasonal music to all my friends beginning Thanksgiving until the New Year. Each and every day.
I lost my mother when I was a baby. My father put me in a children’s home as he couldn’t cope. I have listened to Enya since I was young and I always have this vision in my head that we are all together when I listen to her. My mother was Irish too. I’m 53 now and not ever having parents leaves my life with an unfillable hole.. literally no one could ever replace them. Especially difficult at Christmas time.

I can't imagine where I would be without my parents. I would probably be nonverbal, and would not have survived past six because of asthma. There were no inhalers back then. They were saints as far as I am concerned. My mother's early life was difficult, constant moving and her mother leaving when she was two because her first husband couldn't buy the insulin she needed. He was disabled. My mom moved to her mother's when she was 11.

I remember when I was a teenager in the late 90's and early 2000's, while the other teens listened to boy bands, rap singers, and pop/rock stars, I was listening to Enya.

Listening to ‘Silent Night’ took me back to a time when I was a young girl. I heard silent night being played on the record player in our Parlour. When I opened the door, my Mother was staring into space, and when I looked at her face bathed in the lights from the Christmas tree, a tear was sliding down her cheek. She explained that every time she heard it, she thought of her Father who had been killed during the war just before Christmas. Now I am old, and I remember my Mother with tears in my eyes.

I love listening to this music. My daughter introduced me to Enya. Sad to say she can't share it with me anymore, as in 2008 at the age of 23 someone felt stealing her car was more important than her life. But I can close my eyes and hear her telling me all about the artist. They can't take those memories from me. Kenya has a beautiful voice.
Wrong place, wrong time and a young woman never gets to fulfill her dreams and a mum and family bear the shock and burden of devastating tragedy and loss. Your strength Christine is inspiring.❤

Thanks to all of you for your sympathy. Sometimes life just seems to tear ones heart out - and alot of people these days are facing the same sadness as myself.
But it is not over yet. Still have to face the sentencing part of trial all over again due to the fact that because of another inmates appeal Florida had to redo the sentencing part of the trial as it was a 9 to 3 vote and not unanimous. He's on death row but could be removed to life without parole. I appreciate all your wonderful words, it means alot.
Also she was my only daughter. I have an older son - but my children were 12 years apart.

@@noelmcshane9614 Physical activity can help, but c'mon. Seriously. Depression is a serious, often fatal disease, not a "bad mood". Comments like this, meant to be helpful, are pretty harsh to someone actually suffering. Depression also afflicts pro swimmers, cyclists, dancers etc, who have also been known to take their lives. Never assume a person is actually physically able or has access to swim spots, pools or open water either. I'm really glad swimming works for your blue days, but depression requites a hell of a lot more work to overcome, and knowing that, maybe you won't be so glib about it. Peace.
I’m in a serious mental condition now as well. Enya’s voice is so healing and spiritual. I wonder if she knows how many people her music has helped through dark times? God Bless her always. ❤

after loads of therapy I'm actually quite well now. What probably helped me most was connecting with people - I had to learn that though cuz I was very socially anxious as a teen and young adult. @@noelmcshane9614

I never got to experience being in my mother's arms. The demon alcohol caused her to abuse me in ways most children don't survive. So if this what it feels like to be in a mother's arms then I can say I have. I listen to Enya to go to sleep as an 68 yr old Woman, feeling a freedom of peace.

I kept singing this song in my mind when I was going through a major depression last year. I was in a very dark place. My God walked me through the valley and lead me out of it, I'm happy to say that I am in a beautiful and high places now. He was and is my way maker.

This happened to me too, although it was 11 years ago and as I was sobbing in my bed I heard angels singing above me! I felt so much pain but the singing felt healing! A true miracle...

This reminds me of when I was a little girl when I would go to church with my mother but always felt so alone. I felt the spirit of Jesus Christ and the angles surrounding me. They were the ones who truly loved me, and that I was special to them.
Same here. I am always surrounded by Jesus and the angels. I hope that I will get to go to a church again because I feel so much closer to the heavenly father and the Holy Spirit and of all of the angels of heaven. 😊

This is one of two Christmas albums I listen to all year. The other is George Winston’s December. I love them both.
I love listening to enya music videos her voice is like a balm on my heart and soul and core of my being it is so healing to hear in this dark time of war of violence and death and bad things happening everywhere in the world these days.
This album reminds me of driving in Clipper Mills in the winter. Snow softly falling the crunch of snow under the tires. The peace it brings to your soul.

Enya's carols are the most beautiful songs composed and played ever. So peaceful, so relaxing, so soothing! No other artist is singing about Jesus Christ with so much tenderness. Unfortunately, nowadays, I noticed that for many European people she is considered old-fashioned. It's unbelievable, but last year in United Kingdom I couldn't hear at least a carol by Enya at Radio throughout all December and this year is the same thing. Please, tell me if you heard Enya's voice at Radio these days. Are all these broadcasters atheists or fake Christians? Instead, every artist with empty, meaningless carols and who says absolutely nothing about Jesus Christ seems to be welcomed.

My great great grandfather immigrated from County Clare Ireland with his brother. His brother stopped in Tennessee and he came to Texas. My grandfather used to tell us grandkids of the travels of the two brothers. My wife and I visited southern Ireland (Dublin to Limerick to Galway) on a bus tour in 2018. I am not an emotional person but during my time in County Clare, I felt a deep connection to the area. My grandfather used to tell us that we had cousins still in County Clare and he along with my grandmother and aunt and uncle visited Ireland in 1984 where he reconnected with some. I couldn't find them.
Just realized this week that not playing piano and singing instead helps my pelvic floor muscles and back and helps me sleep better- helps my jaw issues too! Wow! Hallelujah Chorus! Timing is eveything.

I played 'One Toy Soldier' to my beloved wife over the phone approximately 6 hours before she was intubated at the ICU due to breathing difficulties. I didn't want her to talk as she was wearing the oxygen mask hence I made her listen to Enya's and she replied "I like Enya's music"
That's her last words with me before my closest friend Vishran spoke to her and her heart stopped beating approximately 1400 hrs on 21st December 2016 at the age of 42. I am so grateful to her for making my life full and I may be one of the husbands who was happiest in this world, as we spent some quality time together. Time keeps teaching myself why she had to leave this way.
I'm happy that she was spared from facing life alone without me in this world. Going through her diaries from 1990 l just can't believe how meticulous she had been and wish I had put more effort to know her better.
Winters edge still flauting brilliant white forests laced with snow, the Eddies prominent within this glow,the Beauty of such rugged places, taking it in as Enya traces it into my heart now embraces the solitude and I seek out such paces of Times passing!

If you are looking to unwind after a hard day, Enya's music is the best. Her music has helped me many times to soothe my nerves after dealing with the madness I had to deal with and helped with making the grueling ant work I have to do a bit less grueling.
