  • Soon I am selling my Stinson 108-3. The decision to sell this aircraft has not been am easy one. I've spent a lot of time over the past months contemplating my choices and I keep coming to the conclusion that selling this plane is the correct decision. In this video I just wanted to take a few moments to look back at the adventures and enjoyment I have had fling this airplane. Making this video was therapeutic for me. It gave me some time to reminisce about the hours I've spent with this plane, the adventures I've had, the videos I've taken, the journeys I've been on with friends and family. I was surprised at the impact this plane has made in my life over a short period of time. I hope the next custodian of this airplane enjoys it and improves it as I have. -Scooter

      Aircraft are a differnt type of machne. You put a lot more trust in them than most others. I think this and that they provide a freedom in your life most don't understand draws an airplane into your heart,

      The Stinson 108 series is a gorgeous airplane. And it's just a joy to fly the way I fly it. Working a classic machine to its limits. While being a good curator.

      I sure agree it's a great plane. In cruise it is a hands off flyer. The gross weight increase, larger fuel tanks, rudder trim tab, make it a much better cross-country machine and then the other Stinson 108's. I found it better for cross-country than my Cessna 172. Its a great plane I'll miss traveling in.

    Thank you so much for making these videos. I have dreamed of owning a Stinson 108 for years. Strolled past the Stinson area of Oshkosh, completed my tailwheel endorsement, and watched guys like you taking the family on adventures in the Station Wagon while trying to figure out how to get there myself. We definitely go through different times of our lives. I'm also a private pilot in Michigan, part of a flying club, but struggling to balance flight time and finances and in a very contemplative place - figuring out how to get back to basics and find a way to enjoy the simple joy of flying - really hone in on a way to get into a classic aircraft that fits our family's needs. The Cessna 172 just isn't cutting it for me. I haven't figured it out yet, but if it's meant to be, God will show me the way. If it's not - I'm willing to step back and realize that flying is not the only source of joy in my life. Take care and know that we have all deeply enjoyed your videos. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.And... looking forward to many more ;) Glad you're still going strong!

    I was completely caught off guard by the ending of this video! Scooter stands there, head down, sorrowful look on his face and says he is selling due to circumstances. Then he gives us a recap video of some of his good times with his Stinson that is about to go leaving him Downtrodden and Sad! And then he stops! As he walks past a Stinson and says, I bought a newer one! Scooter you had me feeling sorry for you now I think you are a Clown. I enjoy your videos and love Stinsons but this video is sneaky!

    • @GreatMichiganBushCo
      @GreatMichiganBushCo  5 років тому +1

      There is great support in the area for Stinsons. DKC aviation for one, also one of the most knowledgeable Franklin mechanics in the world is only a 10 minuet flight from ARB. South East Michigan is probably the area in the nation you will find the most support for Franklin engines.
