Paul Bearer on Rick Rude beating up guys in real life. Shoot interview where WWE's Percy Pringle reveals Rude's real life insane behaviour tangiers four winds
The hair, tights, cockiness, monotone yet still entertaining dialogue, the physique....and that Stache....that frikin Tom Sellick, Burt Reynolds Stache....80s wrestlers were the shit$$
@@terminat1 I wasn't being nihilistic at all. My point was that all people's lives have meaning, and they will be remembered for their talent and entertainment.
Rude should have been used as a top heel. They should have given him the WWF championship title. He should have been feuding with top baby faces like Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, etc...
I remember watching Rick Rude as a kid , and thought that he had the perfect name for himself. Man , did he look like a rude person. He really did. Lol...
Fighting in bars how did he get away with it every time I got in a fight in a bar cost me $10,000 in lawyer bills and I got arrested how do these guys get away with it
Paul Bearer heaping so much praise on how great a guy Rude was, then proceeds to tell how he used to target ordinary guys in a bar and beat them up for entertainment. Doesn’t sound like he was that great to me.
I remember seeing Rick at the Rosemont Horizon in 89’, and some weird drunk guy climbed in the ring wanting to fight Rude with a beer in hand. Fortunately for that guy Rude chose not to do anything (since he was in the ring ready to perform).. The cops yanked that guy out by force and the beer splashed everywhere! It was funny!!
Ahhhh,so you beared witness to Rude keeping his cool 😎 he hardly sounds like the bully Percy is making him out to be.I'd like to think that somehow some way that Rude would have been in jail at some point for those assaults.I mean unless he bullied the police too or something lol
Art imitates life. I wouldn't doubt that the creative department set up Rude for that very image. But along with that, the guy was a terrific entertainer as well as a very physical wrestler. As far as his bar days and picking fights, let's remember he was still in his twenties and not some seasoned mature family man. The steroid use certainly aged him prematurely.
no you can tell he just naturally had that look, even more so when he cut his hair later one, he was one manly motherfer for sure. did you ever see that video of the match that ended his career vs sting, he fractures his back when sting jumps on him on the outside and he lands with his back on a ledge and sting on top of him, he finishes the match with just pure toughness but will never be able to wrestle again
That's funny, I always thought he was gay because of the tight tights, the Freddie Mercury looks, and the gayest hip moves ever. And the thing with kissing ladies on the ring looked like a guy trying hard to hide that he likes it in the ... ^^
I live in Tampa, and Rude hung out in a bar I worked at in the 80's and early 90's when he was in town.. I NEVER saw this.. He would come in and order a couple Coors Light long necks, check out the chicks, and leave before closing. A couple of times I saw him get asked for an autograph and he signed.. Again, he didn't say much. He never got kicked out of the bar for fighting. Now, I would think if this Percy Pringle story were true, I would have seen some signs of this happening, but I never did.
Guys in the business like to embellish their stories, I'm that's going on here. Rick Rude picking fights with random people isn't very flattering to him tbh. Makes him seem like a gigantic bully and asshole.
+774CISCO Until I read your comment, I had forgotten that Paul Bearer also passed away. These guys die so frequently that it's hard to keep up. Which is, obviously, a sad fact.
Yeah I can agree with top 5 or ten in the all time category of all true "total package" talent..look, character, physique, heat, draw, mic 🎤 skills and actually wrestling ability..If you can drag Warrior thru a fully watchable match than yeah you deserve some recognition there
Scott Hall said people in bars loved to challenge Rude because they thought he was such a pretty boy. He said at one bar they heard Rick got jumped. They drove fast to the bar and as they walked in to help Rude, he had already beaten the crap out of the guys that jumped him and was getting a drink. Smash of Demolition said that he, Rick and the Road Warriors were all bouncers in Minnesota at a club. When asked who was the toughest out of all of them he didnt' hesitate. "Rick Rude; toughest guy I've met. Also he was scary because he wasn't afraid of anything".
There's a big difference between someone who "likes to fight" and someone who just likes to beat people up. Sounds like Rude was just an asshole who liked to beat people up.
md65000 Yeah this story doesn't paint a good picture of Rude. If he liked to fight he could have been a boxer or even just sparred at boxing gyms in his off time. This sounds like he was just setting up people who he knew would get easy to beat up. Kind of cowardly, really.
what if that was you who got your ass kicked by Rick Rude for no good reason? you'd still welcome that? if it's true, he's not toughening anyone up. He's just being a complete piece of shit

R.I.P. RRR THANKYOU Richard Erwin Rood, for the great memories in, NWA, GCW, WWF, WCW, and ECW days.
One of his match (overall and with Piper) is one of my all time favorite. Cage Match that was on WWF Supertape Vol .2 (SUPERTAPE!) seriously, try to watch it, whoever reads this who hasn't seen it. It's indeed HOF worthy. Shame he's gone, I remember being shocked when I had heard he passed away...such a shame..especially tonight, we could have a killer speech but we won't...
Rick had the perfect upper body physique, i always wished I could have came across his workout template….. and save the steroid jokes, because almost all the wrestlers juiced back then and still didn’t have that type of frame.
How often did Rude need to get his chest, shoulders, arms and back waxed? Or did he use Nair? Must have cost him a fortune. Pictures of him early in his career showed him to be kind of a naturally hairy guy.
Rick Rude was awesome. his gimmick was hilarious. he probably enjoyed deep down every second of his taunt towards the fans (men) before kissing the girl. from the way it sounds he would probably go out drinking in every city he was in after the show hoping some dude would say something to him so he could start shit with them. he was a big guy at about 250 lbs or so and he was on steroids and he was known to be able to fight. he supposedly beat up the ultimate warrior once backstage.
Was Rick a bully who beat up random douchebags at the bar? Or did he take on dudes his own size or anyone with skill? I’m guessing it was a bit of both ...not sure why anyone would mess with a huge dude like Rick tho
I think you have the douche bag wrong, having his girlfriend/wife hit on drunks at the bar while Rude would sit back at a table and when some poor guy at the bar who did not know who the girl was showed interest Rude would jump up and beat them up, oh and from the stories I have heard from other wrestlers they always choose smaller guys who were impaired from alcohol, so the only douche bag was Rick Rude.
So many wrestlers die. Looking at these shoot interviews half the wrestlers being talked about is dead and half the people doing the interviews are even dead

The fact you lump other disreputable guys in with him to try and prove "they're all the same" is laughable. Karma fucked Dynamite just like I hope it does when he drops out of that wheelchair....
Did Stone Cold really beat up his wife? Has he ever commented on that? Most domestic violence is mutual and the police and the courts tend to side with women. Your definition of a lowlife is curious because there are people with genuine disabilities and people who simply cannot find jobs. I think you would be happy to live off state money if you were laid off and did not have savings or some family member to live off. People who don't earn a wage can still contribute to society in multiple ways. Going out of your way to beat someone up is a scummy move though; being unemployed does not hurt anyone.
Yes he really beat up his wife.. that's why they got divorced and Debra talks about it a lot... and save me the speech on scum not being able to find jobs... Pretty sure every McDonald's in the world is hiring lol maybe they can't find a high paying job but that's their own fault. I have zero sympathy for the unemployed because most of them chose that path in life. Not once did I say anything about the disabled so please don't put words in my mouth... I guarantee you're one of the jobless lowlives who love off foodstamps which is why you are so offended lol
I'm not american and we tend not to use foodstamps in our country, although they are not unheard of. We've far more unemployed people than we have officially available jobs and some of those jobs will go to the friends and relatives of the people in that business anyway, which means they were never a chance to begin with. I think all healthy people should strive to do something for the larger society but another man's gain is another man's loss in this world where competition is the name of the game; sometimes you lose, sometimes you win and when you're advantaged, you're supposed to help your fellow man up and not scoff at him for you could well be in his shoes tomorrow. In addition to this, it would be cheaper to keep some people unemployed rather than give them high paying do-nothing government jobs as paper pushing bureaucrats as happens here and I believe in America as well. Just because you're officially employed does not mean you're more useful and important than someone who does not live off a wage.
The hair, tights, cockiness, monotone yet still entertaining dialogue, the physique....and that Stache....that frikin Tom Sellick, Burt Reynolds Stache....80s wrestlers were the shit$$

Rick Rude was a real heel. Wrestlers need to study his videos who are trying to be heels in the wrestling business.
Include Mr. Perfect and Million Dollar Man in that list.
jarret45 absolutely agree Mr Perfect I always liked even as a bad guy
ARIES II So true....and Jake "The Snake" was another great heel.
Trying to do anything on your own like he was allowed to do will just get you fired from "sports entertainment" lmfao.
