That engine looks almost new with that fresh paint job. I wish the other parts(manifolds etc.) also got painted. I see by now you've already installed the engine back in the Duke. I hoped that when you had the chance you really gave a close look at the clutch assembly. I worried that when the Duke went Kaboom, and the engine seized, that the shock might have damaged the clutch or the gearbox or the back diffs. You were in gear when it happened. You're doing a good job, as usual, Mike, keep it up.
Using bicarbonate of soda in your sandblaster will clean up the ancillary items with doing no damage to them, just a quick wash off after and it’s as good as new or ready to paint before installing. Keep up the good work 🏴
I would replace the damper with a new one. Cat calls them a damper. They are known for going bad and causing vibrations that feel like a drivetrain issue.

I remember helping mechanics at work changing starters on GMC New Look buses. They were accessed by a hatch under the rear seat. DD 6V71 and the starter was heavy as F , covered in grease and oil as it was basically never opened and looked at until it failed on the road so it was hot too! The only good part was you were inside the bus so it was dry.
Hello Mike. Things looking good around the shop with the trucks. 😉. I have a West Virginia trailer tag if you are interested. I will send it to your work if you post the address. Thanks for your videos. I laugh a lot at you for the funny stuff you do and say. Take care.
This just a suggeston. You might be way ahead if you paid a mech from work to put c13 back togethe, could be up and running before winter.leaving shop free to park stuff in
Mike, you can rebuild it, you have the technology (somewhat), you have the capability to create the world's most powerful truck engine. that yellow engine from another truck will be that one. better than it was before, better, stronger, if not faster.
Holley carb eh. Just might be a 365 hp, i'm hoping for your sake. Thought I'd see you at Corvettes at Carlisle. I had to exit the downtown parade for the same reason, overheating. Just got the Evans better than coolant from Amazon today. Hopefully, no over heat nomo.
Nice work Mike! Wouldn't it be tidier to rip everything off the old motor and get it out of the workshop before bringing Duke in?? a good mate had a very nice aussie Holden 97' 304cu V8 fuel injected sedan a "CALAIS" model. Really nice car to drive but always seemed a bit lethargic.....One day his son was doing a service on it and we speculated that the timing was out! bit of fiddling and a bit more advance and it was an animal!!
Not 100% sure trying to get Duke running and interior done on low N Slow first. Plus winter is coming so I'm going to have to take some time to do firewood
Hi Mike🙂Having English problems today? timing and might be power valve or jet setting standard Holly problems. How would I know? owned a 63 split window coup, a 62 and the 10 th vette built in 1966............been there done that.
I would just wrap the bad engine in plastic and stick it in the spare parts pile. When someone needs something then take the part off. Concentrate on the good engine
If you don't get that fix now you can throw your timing chain and gear if you don't get it straight out quickly I did it on one of my cars so you go shut off the car it put it in drive then shut it off 📴📴
Mike I know space is at a premium, but I would store as many useable parts as you can. Especially that Crank, as you well know CAT parts aren't cheap. Wether it's old or brand new, you never know what can fail. You're doing a great job, keep on Truckin Mike!
After a long day at work, it's great to come home to a new video, Mike. Keep um coming! Greetings from the UK 🇬🇧
Glad you enjoy them 😊

It's easy to change when in the truck and now I have a spare so I'll give that a go

That would be a real bugger
Hey Mike, painting things before you reinstall them will make ur engine look nicer.
Moving right along be looking for the next episode. Keeping up with Mike by the way I have never kept up with the Kardashians.
Next episode the engine goes in the frame. 🙂

@@mikethetrucknut anytime bud!
You did one heck of a job on that new engine. I think Mike needs a truck shop and don't forget about your fire wood.👍👍
Thanks the Frost will keep me from forgetting about the firewood LOL
Been waiting for this. Been wanting to see what you do with that conventional pete

Mike, working in the building industry has taught me to always wear my bloody steel cap work boots when wrenching on truck stuff. Nice work but
Yeah you are right
Hey Mike my dad bought him a 2 door 1951 Plymouth Cambridge but it is missing some parts
Nice 👌
@@mikethetrucknut is there any junkyards up there that has this car
Carbs can be so finicky.. .The carb on my mom's 75 Pontiac Grand Prix can be quite temperamental as well..
I bet you could rebuild the original engine and put it into another rig so all is not lost...
Maybe it's time to invest in a diesel engine motor mount. Great video.
Yeah, I have at least one more to rebuild.

If only you got it towed home!
Yeah, I prefer the round hole but these were basically free wheels so figured I'd give them a go
A Mike your c-13 cat what diesel engine is that like (3406-e,b,a I don't knock me on the letter which one?
It's a KCB engine.
hi have you got a link from part 1
I'll try and get that.

👍 Good idea. I was thinking of advertising the cyl block as a boat anchor ⚓ lol because it legit would make. Good one. $75 sounds reasonable ☺️
I think the scrap value is higher than that. Take care.
Isn’t there an engine block plug in the old motor?
Yeah but they are kinda hard. I was going to silicone it in but decided to just get a new one
Mike you sure you haven’t got into grand pas cough syrup lol
LOL
Mikey.... how big is your shop?
It's 40' x 60'
Think you need another workshop to house your fleet...

Mike, you may want to wear steel toed shoes to protect your feet.
I was thinking about that.
Mike can we have a few longer episodes please 🙏a good healthy hour a peace maybe
Sounds like a plan. I'll work towards that

Lol not yet but if I say I'm buying another truck I know where I'll end up

You’d be better off with an electric choke carburetor from summit than your Holley carburetor

I'd like to try the sniper EFI
