Well done 👏 Mike, it just takes time,Looks good,Must get that wood cut up and stacked,
Y’all took a Job that is always fussy hard with helpers and made it look easy. Luck and Experience came together. Great Job !! Thank You for Sharing !! H.
Love seeing all your projects coming together!! You will be in that big new shop in no time! You better get to cutting some firewood soon!!
well done Mike, as a Swed 🇸🇪 I kind of like the yellow engine with a blue frame.
that hat cam is great👍
be safe stay well.
hey Mike. great Job. a lot of work. you can do a lot of things on your own. the camera works fantastic. keep on going
Ha mike the camera is great now we can look at your hands, the mechanics like that very much (but not really) make something beautiful of it I enjoy it every time
Great video Mike the hat cam works great. The Yellow on the engine and the blue of the frame looks good together. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Mike.
That Backhoe is a life saver!!
Way to go Mike. Can't wait to see Duke running.
Absolutely brilliant job doing that on your own well with the help of the Boss 😉. Hat cam works well.
Good job in getting the block in, gently did it on your own perfecto !! Hat cam was a winner
Mike, the installation is a plus for Duke, well done by yourself , great video thanks!
Wow Mike that was a awesome install👍👍👍👍👍
Hat cam works very well. Good clean filming
Mike fingers crossed. Just hope all is good . Hat cam worked good
George Whelan from the UK 🇬🇧
WHAT! You have covered a Cat engine with a Cummins box. That is sacrilegious!
Very nicely done ✅ Mike 😉💪 Really like the way the yellow CAT 🐱 engine looks against the blue frame all nice & clean looking sir! Keep up the awesome work!!
Well done doing that on your own, good effort💪🏻
Mike, my hat is off to you, stroke of genius on the clutch install. I would never have done it that way because I'd think I'd never manage to bolt the cover up in situ. The inspection hole is so small! Mind you, I did always have access to a dummy shaft. Ingenious mate, also made the lift considerably lighter for the backhoe. Well done, loving the videos mate.
Hey Mike nice job getting your engine in by yourself. Just a suggestion but you could take all the parts you're not going to use on the new engine and bolt them on the old block and then tuck it away in the corner somewhere. Kind of like a spare engine parts holder. You're making head way now.
Yeah, I'll definitely hang onto anything I can use for awhile in case I need it
Great going Mr.C! Expected you to swear a lot more and a stronger accent with the hat cam😜
Lovely you got the block into place, keep it up so you can drive the Duke again!
Hat cam worked spot on better than tripod, can see what your doing, less hassle for you worrying if we can see or tripod being in the way...
Great job Mike. Good to see the engine back in Duke. Looking forward to the startup.
Hey Mike, quite amazed that you have done that on your own, nicely done, took your time and in it is. Again very well done, great video, love the hat cam.
Alright alright alright now that’s video gold my man
The hat cam worked well👍🏼
Nice video, good to see your wife is helping you with the block.
How you doing buddy good to see you again love all the trucks great job see you soon
Dukes going to be such a handsome truck when he gets back together again, with the great progress on low &slow and the way duke promises to shape up l think you should keep that momentum and concentrate on smokey after duke.
That will give you three beauties in running useable condition and plenty of wind in your sails to see you through bigger projects like k2
God bless you and yours from the north west of England 🙏🏻❤️
Yes I really want to get one of the K100s running reliably. I like the length of Smokey and the fact it has an electronic engine. Makes it alot nicer to drive and use.
Hats off to you brother! Nice to see people be able to do there own projects. Cheers 🍻
I must of been gone longer than I thought as you threaded the engine in quite nicely.... I hate head mounts but given the situation, a head mount or just say its in was all of your options. Quite proud of your doing it by yourself Mike... really as it had failure with just one guy but your a better man than most to even try that. Now the littler pieces parts go right in... right??? When pigs fly it will be easy but got to give you a big one for this one
That hat cam worked better than I thought it would, not so shakey. Keep using it, just not all the time. I think the Duke is going to be just fine. Nice looking installation, so far. That engine looks good! Your little John Deer had enough muscle, and fixing the dragging brake, made putting the Duke back into the garage look fairly easy. What you're learning from this project, I'm sure, will help latter when puttting an engine in K2. Since K2 is a cabover that will envolve going in from the side or back. Keep on going, you're looking great!
Much soother going in than the Mongolian cluster-event of taking it out -- nice job and good-looking engine so far. Looking forward to seeing the rest of what's now an in-frame overhaul, from the high country of Arizona.
Good to see it going back in i always enjoyed working them as much as driving, after 40 years behind the wheel i really miss it thanks for bringing back the memories
I hope you Duke up and running Mike
I would paint that center section of the firewall the same blue as the frame. White outside firewall inside blue against cat yellow would look amazing
Mike you had me on edge of my seat that was amazing to watch cam work great cant wait see put back together
Hat Cam worked well, I would say it's a keeper Mike.
Awesome will do more with it then. Just didnt want people getting nauseous from the movement
Fantastic one man working today. Awesome to see and capcam works great!!
Hey Mike I love where you live in Canada beautiful property and hobby just be grateful that the wifey is very understanding
I have to admit Mike, I've never seen a transmission coupled to an engine done that way before, but man you did it, due credit to you, I'm enjoying your videos great stuff.
in Aussie that would have involved getting a mate to come around to help and about a dozen beers during the install..... and a dozen more after.
Hat Cam is cool
Nice job Mike. 👍👍👍, btw, hat cam is gooooood
You don't learn too much if you don't make mistakes.... Same way with my model building too!!
Great job you and Andrea did it ! Great way to do it. Duke is making a comeback ! Waiting for the next video. Take care mike. I also really like you dads backhoe. We had one of the first 580 cks . Not as nice was 2 wheel drive.
Congratulations on getting the engine in. The hat cam is great. It’s nice and smooth even when you are moving around. Next time you use the backhoe to remove or replace an engine, seriously consider removing the bucket. 1. It’s heavy. 2. It’s in the way. 3. You will be able to see better. Looking forward to more great content. Take care.
Now she's got a motor again!!
Hey Mike, Nice practice run! Now you need to borrow a clutch alignment tool from one of your Peterbilt mechanics, Then take the engine back out and properly install the clutch to the flywheel; then install the engine again while stabbing the tranny to the engine. They have to come together at exactly the same angle, good luck.
The video didn't show you bolting the clutch to the flywheel, if you were able to do that through the inspection plate on the transmission bell housing, then good for you! My apologies.
I do clutches the same way he did all the time, especially in this circumstance it is so much simpler this way compared to getting the input shaft wiggled through the clutch plates
Yep I was able to do up the bolts through the inspection hole. My battery died at the end when I did it but I think I'll show how I did it in the next one so guys k ow. Worked awesome
@@mikethetrucknut awesome I’m glad you was able to get the clutch bolted up that way I was sitting here going NOOOOO MIKE DONT FORGOT TO BOLT THE CLUTCH TO THE FLYWHEEL!!! 🤣
Good Job, Mike! I hope that putting that much weight on the oil pan did not crack it, but hey, if it did you have a spare one! Hat cam worked good!
Yeah Mike the hat cam is a great tool for filming now you can use both your hands and work freely. Duke is coming along fine ,lot of work for a one man band to do.
Dear Mike -- I liked the hat cam a lot. Nice job!
Duke is looking good. I'm starting to feel like a kid the night before Christmas. The hat cam worked good when you were working on the truck. The motion when you were walking around was a little tough for me to handle but that is an issue I know I have that others may not. Overall it worked pretty good.
I love smoky, I admire the Duke n luv
hey mike how you doing mike dukes getting there looking good can not wait until you get duke smokey and k2 running you need help me i would be lost and losing my mind trying to keep up with all of that awwwwww but one thing i noticed is you need to make a tow bar for moving them trucks and make it ajustable so you can put it on any truck and take it with you so you do not have to call wreckers just a thought mike hey great video love you guys up there, i m in ky wish i was there to help but well dang so have a blessed day mike be safe have fun and don,t drop anything on your foot that would break my hart hahaha ya i,m making funnys talk at you later god bless you and yours mike wolfman northen ky ps you can buy a head mount band for your go pro the kits are at walmart and would love to see a video of a motorhome road trip or a tour of your motorhome love it always liked them small ones
Loved it Mike the camera POV is always better we can see what you see the truck I still think you should build your own wrecker she could be you truck go getter and what not. Also im going to pretend you give us a good hour long video because I asked lol loved it thank you Mike
I love the irony of using a Cummins Genuine Parts box to cover the cylinders of Duke’s Cat C13
Good Job Mike.looking good.Hat Cam 👏 👍
You did well getting that all done won't be long and youl be driving it again
Hey you got it, great to see a Cat back home. Get the head checked out, you have come this far, check it.🙃 Mike a suggestion, with all the machinery and projects you have an engine hoist would be a lot safer.😉 Great job well done.
Yeah I think that's the smart thing to do. I was going to skip that but I think I'll get it looked at next week
Once you’re done picking the bones of that old block you should use it as a garden ornament and plant flowers in the cylinders 😂 or put a board across it and use it as a garden bench
Always a trip getting a C13 in by yourself
Maybe even Caterpillar will also start to work better and keep the pistons inside after being under the protection of Cummins for a while 😆 Good work Mike, Kaboom will be the fine truck 😎
Looking good mike well done ! Do you not fancy going pdi single turbo and manifold ? Seemingly far better set up and more powerful ? You never know you could maybe sell the other ones to assist with funds ? Just an idea . Would surely save weight too and be cooler with a single turbo ? All the best any way .God bless ya brother .
I'd love to do that. Maybe if this one runs okay I'll splurge and add it.
Just like my models...only my projects are on a smaller scale ... 😆!!
jealous of you pile of, looks like Birch firewood. However, your fun to watch.
Hat cam was cool.
I'd put new clutch. Just cause your there. But that one looked ok?? Making progress 😃
Great job
I'm not as spry either... 😆!!
Heat shrink .. it .. awesome
So once you get this C13 in your truck and it's up and running are you going to start looking for a c16 to put in it or not
Hat cam is great! If the image is crooked just tilt your head
Ooh may ,what is that truck just outside ur garage door on the left ? Wow . Love ur channel sir
With the rebuild take your time be methodical and all will be right plenty of assemble lube and let her run for 3hour and drop the oil and change filters and your good to go.
When you get the Duke all fixed up the way you want, what do you think about finding a young guy that appreciates all you've done and put him to work on it. Might make a few bux for you... or not. :-)
The gopro on the hat is working good. Very steady. Is there that much crime in Prince George that you have to have alarms on your pick ups & garages?
We've never had a problem where we are but I'm not taking any chances either.
If you can pull off this repair, then you can do Stubby's gearbox in house as well as Smokie's Detroit.
Yeah mate, Mike’s way more talented than his humility and grace allows him to admit l think
Clever guy for sure
Absolutely, I will just need to buy a transmission jack. I'm not going to try and micky mouse one for a trans.
Congratuleison is fantastic how a globes
love your videos, do you by chance watch vice grip garage with all the noises you do
Yes! I thought Derek was crazy the first video I saw of his then got hooked after a few more.
Hat cam working good,
Don’t go with the blue lines, they look good but they don’t last. Use the red gates rubber hoses.
Mike you have a very supportive wife because a lot of guys don’t get to do what you do by buying bunch of old trucks Fixing them up to play with and drive around
The hat cam is good but sometimes move you head slower motion sickness sometimes for me anyway but it’s good 🤙🏼
Love it!!
Got to hand it to the old bloke, he does this all on his Todd.. 👏😉
The cap cam works
Hi Mike Aussie with a question How do Americans and Canadians get soder, out of solder do you drop the L for any reason I mean spell check if you type in Soder puts an L in it for you just curious ,spelling aside love all your video,s ,your a funny guy ,and my observations are your a lot more mechanically savvy than you make out ,you do some amazing things on a tight budget .And I think the duke could have a nice drop deck float behind it to go and rescue all your cab overs, just a thought mate
Cheers Kym
Adelaide
I'm not sure where we get the slang. Maybe it's just to lazy for the L LOL thanks for following along
disappointed itchy boots did drop by on your channel some where, P G to Jasper not that far
Yeah, I'd love to meet her. But I don't think she really likes the spotlight when riding.
Great job Mike! Not a big fan of hat cam. Kinda makes a guy a little dizzy.
You probably think I am on your case. I used to be a trucker(not steering wheel holder). I had 3 Kenworth W100s, one a time. I had the first W100B in S.C. Before that the guy worked for, bought a wrecked K100 and had it rebuilt for me to drive. I picked the paint scheme, looked like a circus truck. I liked tinkering with things. I am disabled now and cannot hardly do anything. Drives me miserable. Would send pictures of my trucks if I knew how. Not on your case, just jealous.
No worries John thanks for following along. You can always email them to mchamberlain@peterbilt.bc.ca
a 2nd man to guide it in would have been handy, save jumping in and out of the tractor.. Good job!!
The hat cam is working great. Your skills just keep going to a new level every time you work on one of your trucks. Tow Thumbs Up.
