read a review that said it wasn't good ............watched it anyway and absolutely loved it............would have liked to see what happened to tyler perry but hey maybe season 2!!!! lol,,,,,,,,, loved watching the firefighter scenes and angie kicking butts.......great action movie that had me in tears with lots of great stars and the young boy was awesome........
This woke feminist BS movie was so ridiculous that my wife and I laughed all the way through.
It was almost two different movies. I get the thriller mystery with the dad and his secrets with the bounty hunters. But then the writers made it also seemed like a forest fire first responder awareness movie.
Ending pissed me off. What was the big secret?? What did his father die for what did those other innocent ppl die for? Like tf…

I was doubtful about the movie but I actually did enjoy it for the most part The things I did stick out to me where the facts about the notes how they would’ve been wet but he did show Angelina also I thought about the fact that they never clearly stated what the father found out in what this was all about I kind of feel that was a let down
I think the movie was more about relationships,the husband and wife and Angelina's character with the little boy. I just took it as sticking by those you care about is important and it shows how strong people can be when they need to be.
I'm getting so sick and tired of hollywood and it's ambiguity. What the hell was on that piece of paper that the father gave to his son? Such lazy writing.

It’s lazy uncreative writing Angelina Jolie’s character should’ve died from the fall it’s self at the beginning not to mention getting hit by lightning the villains were poorly written and pathetic the wife of the cop should’ve gone to the cops and paramedics makes no sense why a pregnant woman is putting her unborn child in harms way great cast just terrible 💩 writing
Yeah like this movie could’ve been so much better if they at least acted like they wanted to write a cohesive story. They have like 4 protagonists... and an incomplete storyline. Like how can you even think to begin filming this. Unless there’s gonna be sequel to expand on it, this was a waste of a budget.

The movie had potential if there were a different director. They glossed over important parts like the pregnant lady taught survival school which comes in handy later in the movie. The thing that made this movie a flop is they NEVER explained what was on the paper the father gave the boy. They should have shown him talking to the news to explain it or SOMETHING. Also, what happened to the boy?? It would have been better if Jolie adopted him they just left that hanging like a lot of things in this movie. Why waste the talent of good actors on a terrible director?

I was disappointed with Ethan's unceremonial death. Especially considering he provided the best scene of the movie when he channeled some Frank Castle while delivering that convincing "ready to die" monologue.
I'm disappointed he didn't get one of the kills. Possibly with his bare hands on Patrick as he was about to beat Hanah to death.
I feel like this movie was capable of much more. It had it's moments and felt clever at times and lazy at others. I thought the ending was more like the result of a Deus ex machina type moment, except off screen.

All this and we never learn what was the secret, what was the information that was so important. Also, I guess since she read the papers, it doesn't matter that they are probably ruined from being in the water so long. She probably memorized everything, at least I hope so. Which means she's needed, at least to tell or put the information down. It was a good movie but, the ending was not so much. I am SO glad they didn't just kill off the wife. They made her into a fighter. That was great! This could've been a lot better but, it is what it is.

Very disappointed in this movie. We never even found out why the "two killers" were after them or what the father's letter said, leaving you hanging. The only time my adrenaline was pumping was with Medina Senghore, she did a wonderful job and showed the emotions and fight, someone facing killers, would show. Angelina was like vanilla ice cream, very boring. The quick snippet of Tyler Perry was only to put his name in the movie. Save your money and watch it on tv, actually, there are more action & thriller scenes shown on tv movies than what was in this movie.

I think this was deliberately done to create an ongoing mystery for the audience. Sometimes it can be a great plot device. It was effectively used in duel.

The movie was ok but didn’t really have a plot other than survive. I figured the character Tyler Perry played would have played out in the end and explained why he wanted the kid dead. Is this a multi part film or is the story open ended?

Did anyone catch this? At the end of the movie, one of the smoke jumpers says to the boy, "Let me check out the cut on your forehead". How in the heck did he know the cut was there, because he had to lift up the boy's hair to treat the cut.
There were tons of inconsistencies like this. The movie was shot rather sloppily.

What is the point of conflict in this movie? Years ago a conflict would be explained at the beginning of a movie. Then, as time passed, the conflict moved to the middle of the movie. Then, in recent years, the explanation of the conflict has moved to the end of movies. This movie? No explanation. Sorry, but I don't enjoy ambiguous or non-conflicts. Tell me what is going on here???
Yep, poor direction, big disappointment from the writers of Sicario. The script is lazy and unrealistic (how can the father just leave his laptop on the kitchen table, how can the killer access his data so easily, no password? How can the killers guess where they are going by just looking at a photo on the wall? Why only two killers?). The dialogues sound a bit awkward. The sound design and the soundtrack are terrible. 3/10. Very forgettable film.

However I was very excited to watch this all week I waited till today to see it , however I was very disappointed . I don't even know why those people were after the boy , what the dad wrote ANYTHING . HIGHLY disappointed , almost like they didn't finish the movie . Made half and said egh that's good enough .
The movie was little more than the trailer. Hollywood cutting corners on this one.
Angelina's performance was breathtaking as always, however this movie didn't use her acting chops to the fullest. Script is full of clichés, dull cat and mouse chase scenes and its slow start definitely did not lead to a satisfying ending.
A terrible excuse for making a movie and I feel sorry for all the cast involved in such a derivative and predictable movie made a million times before.

Nice movie, Had me at the edge of my seat. Those snipers were something else. They shot anything that moved. Angelina Jolie at age 47 looks beautiful & attractive even with the wounds on her face. She's always getting beat up in her movies or kicking someones butt lol like Tomb raider, Salt or the Tourist. She's always been my favourite.
I did wish the script was different at the end when the Boy asks " What will happen to me " and she says " I dont know" It kind of stung in my heart. I wish she would have given him reassurance that he can stay with her given that they both had each others back when the shooter was trying to kill em in the forest. However, I also feel that Even though she didnt actually say she will adopt him, but the look in face & her eyes just said it all that she has his back for life.

Story wise, the movie was lacking. Felt like they left some loose ends that could've been closed up..but overall it was pretty enjoyable. Action, etc was good. It's a popcorn movie imho, enjoyable with not great substance.

the comments section is frustrating. everyone wants everything answered for them now. what makes movies good is leaving us to to speculate. the fact that we all are wondering if she adopts him, is a sign that they wrote the movie with that intention. indicating that she most likely at some point in the future does adopt him.

You know the biggest thing I found hilarious, the kid was so quick to leave his dad for dead but refused to leave Angelina and put his life in danger to save her. He had barley met her 🤦♂️
I mean if you meet Angelina Jolie would you ditch her? Joking aside I think because of what he went through his dad he probably didn’t want to feel that again. He’s still traumatized and jolie was the only one he had to rely on.

The two bad guys came inside a house of a family in the neighborhood, they said there was a gas leak. They put explosives in there and they let the building explode. The reason they did this was because the man inside it was working for secret people and they wanted him dead. I tried explaining but it wasn't that good. Sorry.

I just watched this and I loved the movie and the plot I just wish Angelina would’ve adopted the boy. He was hinting with tears in his eyes but she said we’re figure it out together. Which takes me back to the expecting couple in the tower the husband barely clinging to life from a serious gun shot wound the paramedic said we’re going to get him help and she said oh no hurries 😮made me wonder if he died or she knew he wouldn’t make it. I believe her husband was a relative to the boy so maybe that’s why Angelina said we’re see. This movie would’ve been great as a series.
The movie was a solid 6/10. I would watch it once but not watch it willingly again. Im not saying that the movie was absolutely horrible but it was missing some key plot points. Like why were the killer dudes after the kid. What did the fathers letter say. Why did that one guys house blow up at the beginning of the movie. That type of stuff

Whelp. I made it 19 minutes. It's one of those "let's put her in it and we'll get money before they realize it's not good".
Really good film. Amazing scenery and story telling. Strong character plot line with nature and wildfire. Highly recommend. Angelina Jolie is remarkable. Her high quality acting skill made this film so special.
Amazing story telling? You had a kid running from assassins who were trying to find evidence that we the audience dont even get to find out about because of how trash the movie is.

It is one of the best movies I've seen and is a bit closer to bitter reallity where nothing goes as u plan it but adds up in the end. Maybe they wanted to make a sequel thats y they left many things unanswered in the end or maybe it was left open for our own imaginations to create an end.

7 months after the release, I finally watched it.
At first i was mad at the ending for leaving so many unanswered questions but, after reading a bunch of comments where people were pissed, I decided it's all a set up for a sequel.
In the next movie, were going to see what Owen (the father) knew that made him lose his life and put his son at risk.
We're going to see/hear an interview with Conner (the little boy) but i don't think it will be at the site of the fire.
I think Hannah (Angelina Jolie) will take Conner and go on the run again because of the U.S. Marshals and men in black that arrived on scene. We're going to get a "its me and you versus the world" type of moment between the two also.
There might be a chance that we discover Ethan, the deputy(?), survived or was brought back once he was air lifted.
(after typing all of this i thought of Allison --the pregnant woman-- and was wondering what she would be doing in the sequel. that made me imagine Ethan was in a coma for 3 months and woke up around the time Allison gives birth to their child. I can't justify Conner and Hannah being on the run for 3 months before they finally do the interview though. this would be interesting but everyone would probably think its bad writing too so scratch that.)
I just think there HAS to be a part two because there is no way the antagonist, Arthur (Tyler Perry), is going to let him live.
And then the plot is going to turn into a bigger story about either the government or a big corporation doing shady (like life or death type of shady) things.
or maybe I'm just wayyy off and this is all we're left with and i'll forever be disappointed in this film :')
This movie sucked. It felt like they threw in dramatic scenes just for the sake of drama, they literally lead nowhere and added nothing to the story.
The ending really pissed me off, we see all these people die and we don’t even get told why!
So movies vide doesnt seem to do their research bcuz "Some years ago." you mean last year. She literally says "Last year there was a fire."
"Also you say she drinks excessively and self harms." Well she isnt shown to be drinking excessively in the film nor does anyone talk about that. She literally drinks once, at a celebration. Thats a normal amount and not excessive at all wth. Self harm? I mean maybe. She doe that thing with the truck so i guess but thats a little bit of a stretch.
There might be more but im clicking off here bcuz that shows a very basic lack of understanding in the movie and alot of assuming. I watch 'ending explained' videos to see things i didnt catch not to be like "yo that entire thing is wrong."
I'm not the biggest Angelina Jolie fan. I just don't think she's a good actress (except in The Changeling). She keeps that going here. I know she's supposed to be troubled over prior events in the movie, but she's as vanilla as ice cream. The story had potential but it just gets ridiculous at times. She survives a 25 foot fall right on her back, then sprints full speed a few minutes later. She dodges lightning bolts (🙄) then is actually struck with no damage. She outruns a fire avalanche. Decent cast, and it had opportunity to be tolerable, but man it's just a really bad movie.
Don’t forget taking all those blows to the face by an assasin and then magically gets up with enough power to beat him 1v1
I really liked this feature. There were a couple of times I had to stop it to take care of some business but found myself not wanting to pause. Great acting & storyline. Once the suspense started it kept me on my toes. The fire scenes (special effects) were amazing. The good thing about streaming is the ability to stop & revisit scenes like at the beginning where they blow up the million-dollar-plus house in that upscale neighborhood. That must have cost a pretty penny! It's worth watching.
