I had a similar issue that others have had where the mask to the collapsed precomp didn't work and everything "spilled" out. Looking at the date of when the video was made I decided to use a legacy version of After Effects (2018) and that "fixed" the issue. My guess is there was an updates in AE 2019 and later cause the issue.
hello I am at 6:40 in the video and when I use the orbit tool to view all the frames I just created with the mask, everything comes out of the mask as if I the mask arent acting as a border to contain all the precomps, but I did in fact make a mask yet the mask doest seem to be adjusting t the three dimensional space, when I orbit around a bounding box appears and it allows me to move around in 3d space like you are doing so I can see everything move but its not containing everything within the mask. What can I do to fix that problem. I have re watched your videos hundred of times an cant figure it out. You made this video in 2018 so I dont thing adobe after effcts 2019 would be that much different.
Dammit, I cannot create masks, it´s driving me crazy and I´m stuck. When I try to apply mask, it does nothing at all and the background just continues to be spread all around
after you finish your mask hover over pictures layer in the composition window and hit "M". this will pop up a drop down window for masks. You should see "mask 1" next to that is another drop down menu to control the "mode" of the mask. make sure that mode menu is set to "add". if you have no drop down menu then your mask isnt actually complete. with the pen tool selected hold control and click in the first node that you created to start the mask this will complete the mask. then the drop down menu should be there. hope this helps
ToonIt is a deprecated product. This tutorial was quite old even when we uploaded it. We kept it around because there are cool techniques in this tutorial even without the deprecated tool.
How can you guys deal with his constant mouth/nose noises. It's freaking me out. It's like, dude can you please blow your nose before recording a tutorial ?

I'm having the same problem also on half of the images cc reptile completely warps the background
it will take more times so i am making it another way thanks

this is pretty cool but I think if you can do this based off this tutorial alone then you probably could have done it without the tutorial.
