1:30 If I recall you never faced against the predalien as Specimen 6. Only the three Predators for the last level for the Alien campaign and the rest of the time you faced against marines and androids. With sentry turrets being the only other threat for the aliens that was stationary.
Oh yeah now I remember Specimen 6 is the one who captures the predator who births the predalien that Dark later takes out in the Predator campaign. I haven't played the game in years XD
AvP (2010) is such and underrated game. Also the only Alien game I know of that gets Xenomorphs crawling on walls right in gameplay. (Remember in Isolation we never see the Xenomorph crawling on walls in gameplay it's always walking or in vents0 I think with more time and polish the game could have been just as awesome as Alien: Isolation.
Matthew Hilliker I think from the design aspect the alien in Isolation was based on the original alien which didn’t wall climb. The aliens in the AvP game franchise where based more on the designs in Aliens (like their comic counterparts) . AvP 2 has Great Wall climbing especially in the multiplayer and in the single player you could play as a facehugger and had a “stealth” mission as the chestburster. In my opinion AvP 2010 was a good game but I was slightly disappointed in not being able to play as the facehugger in an intro level.
@@deadoneeyetheunkillable3591 really? Brent? There I was thinking the alien was suspending itself from the chains as there is no visible wall that it could have clung to in the area. I might be wrong but I thought it climbed the chains and dragged Brent into the ventilation shaft.

If colonial Marines played like AVP 2010 then it would be so amazing. Seeing those aliens head or limps pop and acid goes everywhere. It was cool and deadly. I don't want to kick a dead horse but Aliens CM lacked the AI and deaths AVP 2010 had. That's just the tip of the iceberg. But like i said. I don't want to kick a dead horse. You never know there a Xenomorpth inside.
Ohhh, I am still kicking that dead horse. So disappointed in Colonial Marines. It had every reason to be a spectacular game, but Gearbox Studios put it on the back burner for its entire production. P.S. AvP 2010 was a better game then reviewers gave it credit for. Sadly it seems to be dead online. If only AvP 2 from 2001 was re-released.
It's funny I've never played that game yet from all the stories I've been told specimen 6 has become my favorite xenomorph of all time. I would really love to see her return to fiction in some form or be reimagined even in film. There's just something good about that story... It just captures the imagination and retains the spirit of what alien is. Actually thinking back, I remember in the original aliens: Earth Wars series the cover of book number two had a gorgeously painted blue alien Warrior surrounded by flames and on its head was emblazoned "006". I've always remembered that painting and it really stuck with me as the years have gone by. I think it's stuck with a Creators of that game as well.
I just want to say that im a huge fan of your work on this channel. From the way you talk to the way you present the alien material through your videos. Its always fun to watch your videos and im looking forward to every new vid you bring out! Thank you for your (at least looking like) hard work
A short, but sweet game over-all. I liked the Predator campaign more, but that doesn't mean that I dis-like the other two. Here's also a little some-thing to know about Specimen 6; through-out the Alien Campaign, if you kept on destroying those royal jelly containers, you'll notice that 6's shadow is a bit bigger and it is as if you have a crown akin to a Queen. Some civvies have also pointed out how big 6 is, which meant that it was already molting into a Praetorian. Unfortunately, or not, that was proven false because we only get to see 6 molt after the final mission. That, or the makers of the game just didn't have enough time to make a proper Praetorian model for 6. At least they gave it a Praetorian model on multi-player. I hope we get a sequel. I want to see the Xenomorph Home-world from the perspective of all the three species.
Chance Webster childhood favourite that is. I'd spend hours just building the biggest hive and collecting as many hosts as possible. All while not hatching a single egg to have the satisfaction of watching them all hatch and grow at the same time. Now I know how David feels.
A PC port would be amazing. I've always loved RTS games and Extinction is no exception, but RTS games on console generally feel limited by the controller and performance of the platform itself. Maybe someday someone will get around to it.
AvP: Extinction is an amazingly fun and challenging game. If only it had the ability to generate random skirmish maps, with customizable foe options, it would be the greatest. My wife loved to play as the xenomorphs the most, and would fawn over her hive as if she were the proud queen. They need to update that game!
One thing you got wrong: 6 didn’t fight the abomination, the abomination was the antagonist of the Predator Campaign. In fact, there’s no evidence of the abomination being hostile towards other xenomorphs.
This game was well done (like this know your Xenomorph video) it was fun to have another perspective rather than just of the marines. It helped to appreciate the goals of everyone. Including bad ass Dark and Clever Girl Six.
The Alien and the Predator campaign were the best out of the entire game with both of them having their own Hero's Journey story arc while also maintaining their 'stuff of nightmares,' theme to them. If they had made them longer then it would've been a true masterpiece. I hope and prey that the next AVP game will expand even further with the Hero's Journey through the perspective of a terrifying monster concept.
I'm still praying for the day another game lets me play as an alien like AVP (2010) did. To emphasize, I played Six's campaign so many times that I could hop on to multiplayer and just dominate effortlessly as a twelve year old. Spatial recognition was the best it ever was as I jumped to and fro and clamored across surfaces. I really miss those days.
AvP2010 was a pretty good game, and i enjoyed the alien campaign a lot...the only thing i missed was a face-hugger and chest-burster arc (like in the AvP2 game). And ofc i wished the campaign was longer :P
I really liked the Xenomorph campaign I generally suck at 1st person games but was ok with this game though there are a few discrepancies in the timeline between the 3 campaigns also with they had kept in the part where you would have had a chance to play as a Praetorian
Oh my god I played the alien campaign over a dozen times. It was a blast. You really get the xenomorph experience in this one. The game overall was amazing and deserved more credit and deserves a remastered edition. The pvp was enjoyable too. Love your channel I watch religiously 😂
I've play avp 2010 many time and when I played as the Alien I never had to fight against the PredAlien. The only time you combat the PredAlien is when you play the game as the Predator.
My big problem with Specimen 6 is that they never released a sequel to explore what devastation her brood would wreak upon the human colony she undoubtedly would have found her way to.
Maybe they should make a game about Xenomorphs where it begins in a first-person perspective, and once you eventually create your hive, it turns into an RTS for world domination with first-person missions where you control other drones to complete them.
This is another masterpiece of a video. I will be part of the Patreon Hive soon (still deciding on my class of character - maybe Warrior - we'll see). I would encourage anyone else who is impressed with this series to do the same. Well done, AlienTheory. Looking forward to more videos.

As a kid, I often thought what it would be like to have a game that's an entire town, infested with aliens. You play a human (or could even be an alien) as you traverse the map, retaking territory and completing quests. They could map an entire town using Google maps, render the environment and have hunts through schools, hospitals, open streets, factories and houses, all while you try desparately to survive. The hiding places would be incredibly varied and numerous, with no idea where the next attack would come from, with each alien (or human) able to wander freely through a certain area of the map as you reach that sector, making each run of the game unique. As the game progresses, more of the town is destroyed, more people dissappear from the streets as they are killed or take refuge in their homes, barricading themselves in. Being forced to go foraging for food and supplies would ensure there are always some people around to hunt (as the alien), or forcing you to scavenge and risk coming under alien attack (as the human). Then alien isolation came out... same idea, just on a different setting. Who could I contact about this blatent theft of intellectual property? Seriously though, I would love a game like that.
The only thing I hated about the alien campaign was how short it was, the alien campaign was the shortest of the 3 and I really wish they had continued it somehow
I have played that game, it was my first time in this kind of games and I was greatly amazed. Playing story mode as Xenomorph was the best to me, as Predator was fine, but when I tried to play as human, I've ended after couple minutes because I was to scared and humans seemed so weak compared to xenomorphs or predators.
I have played this game and I loved it this along with the first aliens vs predator movie is what made me such a fan of the series in the first place and now I have so much memorabilia of the series now and now I’m just waiting for this game to go on backwards compatibility so I can play on Xbox one again
I enjoyed the alien campaign in AvP 2010 but unlike AvP 2 I missed not being able to play as the facehugger. I just liked the idea of using the facehugger as a way to teach the player stealth mechanics as a way to play the alien as you was a lot more fragile compared to the marine/predator.
It was too short, they need to make another alien game that had the dark feels of this one..the marine story had you on edge..knowing full well you were fucked one way or another.
It would have been awesome to see how 6 did as a Queen, in terms of what a hive under her highly intelligent rule would look like. Maybe that could be a strategy game...
I was a big fan of the 2010 game. The Alien campaign was the only one I bothered to complete on the highest difficulty level. I really enjoyed her character.
I absolutely love this game, i don´t know why people hate it that much! It has a great campaign for all three species, Specimen 6 is one of my favorite Xenos by far.
A far too short campaign, but I had a lot of fun playing as "Six" regardless. The use of darkness and the "shreik" lure were nice touches to the game. P.S. While "Six" never faces off against the Predalien "Abomination", it does play a central role in the latter's birth by defeating a Yautja elite and allowing a facehugger to implant itself to the defeated hunter.
The most thrilling part of playing the game for me was going up against the alien players hand to hand with the predator online got my ass handed to me quite often but it was great fun, i enjoyed all 3 campaigns through the game its been too long since we had a great game like it we need another
personally I think it wasn't long enough in the environments weren't big enough with multiple ways to attack. . however I still fucking love the alien campaign.
Six never fought the Predalien - Six *caused* the Predalien by defeating the Predators and having the last one get impregnated by a Facehugger. Yes, I have played every AvP game released. AvP ( 3 ) 2010 is in short, a remake of AvP 1999 ( _known as 2000 classic_ ) I loved the game but they messed up the Multiplayer initially by having the Yautja's disc be waay too powerful. It was powerful in the first game as well and the second but in both cases there was ways to avoid it. In AvP2010, there just weren't any way to avoid it, leading to everyone basically playing Yautja all the time because it was the easiest to do. I played them all of course but I favor the Aliens - You'd be surprised how often it actually works to hide on walls and roofs, or ventilation shafts against actual real players. The trick is to lure them in by hissing, clawing, or just moving around. When you move, their motion tracker will detect you, but when you stand absolutely still, it doesn't and many players are always hungry for frags in multiplayer games so they'll come hunting for you and then they don't see you. They'll even stand right next to you but since you are standing still, attached to an alien corridor ( _think Aliens_ ), they never see the tail slash them down until it's too late. Such a fun game in multiplayer ~
Thank you so much for this video. Six is an amazing character and we really need a sequel (by Rebellion) instead of the thousandth, repetitive Sniper Elite sequel.
I love the Alien capaign. I wish they'd make 'em longer in future AvP games since it's the shortest one. 6 was pretty badass. She was able to kill a few Yautja if I'm not mistaken?
I remember the campaign for the Alien being too short and felt like they had run out of ideas. AVP2 on pc had the better campaign where you began the creatures life cycle from the facehugger to full adult. Don't think I ever finished that one though.
Thinking would be good too see a grand strategy game or C&C type game, start with a queen and some drones or huggers and then grow your colony, maybe take over a city or town or something, world domination xD whatever it all works with it, imagine your tide of home grown hard meat slowly devouring and turning the population of an entire city into fuel for the hive. Glorious
I played AVP 2010. I felt that it wasn’t the best installment of the series, but playing as the alien was one of the more enjoyable parts of the game in spite of how difficult it could be at times. It definitely felt too short compared to the others.
They should've done these things: 1. Throughout the alien campaign, Six harvested victims and broke jelly containers, but for no particular purpose. They should've created a scenario in which Six evolves, grows stronger and faster, etc. by harvesting victims and breaking jelly containers. 2. It would've been interesting to also play through the perspective of the Predalien. 3. They should've got rid of the mechanism which allows a marine to wrestle with an alien. Totally rubbish. Alien grabs you, you are dead. That's the way it should be. 4. They should've made the game longer. The story of Six breaking containment on board the spaceship and gradually molting into a big bad during the final cutscene should've been another three levels of gameplay filled with carnage. 5. Should've made the alien stronger. They are too fragile in the game. They get killed by guns too easily. Make them strong like Stompy from Alien Isolation. 5. The alien's tail is not powerful enough. The control is absurd. They can lash out their tails to attack from a distance quickly, but when the target is close they have to do slow-mo. 6....7.... 8....
I loved this game and I still have it but what would have been nice is that rookies ship at the end of the marine campaign starts becoming low on fuel and have to stop on that very same space station six become a queen on and a nice battle if that happened is you being able to fight six’s queen form now,now THAT would have been interesting
I really enjoy how you weave the AvP extended universe in and out of the films, it would be great if the actual franchises with an EU could blend better, many more great films or series could come of it! Looking at you Disney SW and CBS Paramount ST Discovery! Two franchises that could really benefit from EU blending.
I liked the game a lot I just wish they allowed a mission as 6 being a queen and you get to play as her to take over a marine base to establish it as a nest.
Six is definitely my favorite xeno! Playing her campaign is almost too much fun
The Alien campaign was TOO DAMN SHORT. I really would have liked to have played as a praetorian or queen.
I wonder if they could pull off a game that’s entirely an Alien campaign. That could be interesting.
"Press X to lay an egg"
Sounds fun man.

I would LOVE to see that.
check this for more info avp.wikia.com/wiki/Specimen_6 as it states you can see the shadow from the headcrest in the jungle mission
I tend to use Six' campaign as stress relief... (x
Same!
I liked the alien campaign but it was way too short IMO
It was just as long as the original was. I don't know why people keep harpering on this.
I hated the fact that it only allowed you to play as an adult. No facehugger or chestburster gameplay. What a rip!
I remember every campaign being awesome, except for the final mission as a marine. It was impossible! I just couldn’t do it.
@@heatchills4093 That part is dissapointing, tbh - But I still think AVP 3 is a great game

I loved the game and loved playing 6. I wish they would of had us do more with 6 but I definitely enjoyed it as is.
I personally loved the Predator campaign the most. But the Alien campaign had its merits as well.
"No, Dr. Groves. I like this one. I want it alive."
the Alien campaign was my favourite.
Specimen 6 is the cutest xeno to ever exist
The most thrilling part of playing the game for me was going up against the alien players hand to hand with the predator online got my ass handed to me quite often but it was great fun, i enjoyed all 3 campaigns through the game its been too long since we had a great game like it we need another
personally I think it wasn't long enough in the environments weren't big enough with multiple ways to attack.
.
however I still fucking love the alien campaign.
Once you give a xenomorph a name it suddenly becomes strong enough to murder fully armed Yaujtas I love it!
Six never fought the Predalien - Six *caused* the Predalien by defeating the Predators and having the last one get impregnated by a Facehugger.
Yes, I have played every AvP game released. AvP ( 3 ) 2010 is in short, a remake of AvP 1999 ( _known as 2000 classic_ )
I loved the game but they messed up the Multiplayer initially by having the Yautja's disc be waay too powerful.
I wished the Xenomorph campaign was longer! Only five missions... I still hope for a sequel of AvP 2010.
I enjoyed the whole game, all three campaigns; but I would have loved an entire game based on '6' and her hive.
Thank you so much for this video. Six is an amazing character and we really need a sequel (by Rebellion) instead of the thousandth, repetitive Sniper Elite sequel.
Such an underrated game
play as Six is so cool, i like this game i dont know why people don´t
Man...
I am still playing this game XD
Glorious
Never played it before. And i find the campaign good. 😊
I played AVP 2010. I felt that it wasn’t the best installment of the series, but playing as the alien was one of the more enjoyable parts of the game in spite of how difficult it could be at times. It definitely felt too short compared to the others.
logged, haven't played this one yet....looks like I'll be making a purchase...
6....7.... 8....
i loved playing as the aliens but i wish it was longer.
I feel that the Alien campaign in AVP 2010 should have been longer. I would have liked some Hive levels thrown in for Six as well.
Just yesterday I tried to accomplish the Alien campaign on Nightmare. Stuck on the last mission :D
I like playing as Six it was real fun
Thanks again. I only got to play this game once right when it came out on ×stupid xbox for a day× predator of course. Will try and find pc ver. Now
AvP 2010 is one of my favorite games of all time, they should make the game backwards compatible.
I loved this game. Only complaint I had was it was too short. ...and some coop aside from horde mode would've been nice.
I miss AVP 2010. I remember shooting legs off of aliens and they would slither towards you.
