Okay so in the Lore, Chica is possessed by the soul of a little girl named Susie. Susie's dog had been hit and killed by a car but the murderer William Afton told her they found her dog and lured her to the backroom where she was killed. I believe that in the movie, the dog was a Chihuahua and is possessing the Cupcake

I love how Mathew Lillard plays William Afton, and that famous turn he did, just replicates the one back when he played Shaggy in Scooby-Doo. This man is truly something else.
He doesn't die immediately, and by the end of the movie we see he's still alive. Springlocks give you a painful death where you bleed out slowly. Afton will probably be dead in the next movie, but as this movie is concerned; he's still alive and slowly dying in the back room.
I kind of expected MatPat to show up in this video, largely since James did a cameo in an episode of Film Theory, but man it was still very great when he showed up. And kudos for James for doing such a great job on this video while being upfront of not knowing a lot of the lore prior to this.
I love the aunt's plan. "Trash his workplace outside of his shift." Sure, but his job will be in no way threatened. You don't get in trouble for what happens on the job when you're not even there.
@infinityblayde1973 to be fair, Vanessa isnt a real cop, and I think she used it as a ploy to try and save Mike from William. Thats my theory at least
Fun fact, they made the spring locks a whole lot less violent because in the games they’re basically these metal rods that when unwound would shoot into the animatronic to keep it in place, and it gets crazy violent when it happens to a person.
@@bacongodplays6259 we've seen springlocks on the 5th game I believe. We were put in an actual springlock suit and we needed to "unwind" the locks. Going by the name springlock, it would mean that the animatronic parts would shoot into the body when it fails.
20:52 The "purple" was more of a visual metaphor to make the character more distinct and recognizable as he was first presented in an 8 bit setting. I do think he starts to actually be purple but thats not until he begins to physically rot while half alive in the suit after 30+ years
William doesn't really turn purple due to him barely having any flesh left in the suit. His son Michael does end up being purple after having his insides ripped out.
23:11 MatPat making a special Dead Meat appearance had me Surprised. The Movie was Great, the references they had in it were Good like Shadow Freddy and Sparky the Dog suits being shown. Cory, MatPat being in the movie was Cool and Matthew Lillard did an Amazing job playing William Afton. Love that the Classic FNAF theme song by The Living Tombstone in the End Credits. Although, it would've been Awesome to see Markiplier as the Guard in the opening scene that was getting chased by Foxy, who was the first animatronic to give him a Jumpscare in his FNAF Gameplays.
Mark actually wanted to play a role in the movie but was heavily pre-occupied making Iron Lung, but if there's a part 2 iirc he said he'd be willing to be in it (don't quote me, it was seen in passing on Twitter)
It was especially surprising because Matpat constantly insisted on GTlive that they never reached out to him, and even did a good job pretending to sound sad and slightly bitter about it.
I never thought MatPat would make a Dead Meat cameo. Great to see him one more time. This movie's pretty good. The animatronics in this movie are super impressive, and I love all the lore and references. Plus, Mathew Lillard is amazing once again.
He’s still going to be active on the internet imo, and I wouldn’t be surprised if in 5-7 years (maybe after a trilogy of FNAF games concludes) he comes back and starts a weekly or monthly podcast, or he’ll pop in for cameos in the game theory episodes the new hosts start doing every once in awhile
I'm just as hyped to have a MatPat cameo here than I was to see him in the Movie. Nice touch. The FNAF movie did exactly what it was supposed to do, which was to be a love letter to the fans and to bring new people into the Fazbear fueled madness. It was for the Culture.
As someone else here said, the “come find me” bit at the end isn’t tied to Golden Freddy, but rather The Puppet, who first appears in FNAF 2, and features in a minigame where we’re shown how the kids got murdered, all the while, letters in the background spelling out stuff like “save them”. I’d bet that this is sequel baiting, which is definitely exciting, as if I recall correctly, a sequel has been announced. I’ll be so happy if we get to see the Puppet onscreen, it’s my favorite animatronic! I personally loved the movie, and I’m really glad you covered it! The MatPat cameo was also a pleasant surprise (just like in the theater)! I’m gonna miss him.
yeah, its hinted mikes brother is the puppet too (since garret died very similarly to the person in the games who possesd the puppet) so thats gonna be fun to see too.
@@VivosaurACE yeah, instead of Charlie Emily being the puppet (don’t know if that’s canon to the universe), since Mike isn’t an Afton, it does make sense that the puppet spirit would be changed
I can't remember the exact numbers, but Scott and Blumhouse confirmed there will be more sequels(I THINK 3? to cover the first 4 games). It was in their og contract for the films, and even confirmed by Scott all the way back in his interview with Dawko!
Plus this DOES happen again when Mike sacrifices his sister in his dream, the kids attack him and when he wakes up, he’s hurt badly and strapped into the face blender from the opening!
Could have been done with Foxy intentionally too since in Fnaf 1 Foxy comes out a lot more if the player isn't looking at the cameras and Mike in that scene was sleeping instead of looking at the cams
Yeah that makes plenty of sense honestly. The giant probably 500+ pound metal machine that stomps about as it walks stealthily cut his wrist and ran off for... literally no reason I guess other than to just fuck with him? Like, did the real life Foxy just intend to scare him away or did it have something to do with him grabbing dream Foxy and real Foxy just went "Oh shit, he just grabbed my kid ghost version of me in his lucid dream, I better scratch him a little so he doesn't get any information probably, that's how this works maybe."
Not FNAF related, but for the upcoming Bendy movie, its needledrop should be the song "smile darn ya smile" for one thing, it's a 1931 song. second, its lyrics are positivity themed which would be interesting to listen to in the despair themed world of the cycle (and could have a dark humor scene showing a character having a breakdown while this song plays in the background). Third, it kinda associates well with bendy because bendy has an iconic grin. And last, the song was needledroped in "who framed Roger Rabbit", a live action/animated hybrid movie.
Fun Fact! I actually met the actor for Hank at Six Flags here in Texas. He was working as an actor for those cowboy shows the amusement park puts on. He's a really great actor and person overall.
What? That’s awesome! Ur lucky to meet even one of the actors! From the hide-and-seeker Josh Hutcherson, to Once Upon a Time Anna Elizabeth Lail, FNAF geek Piper Rubio, and the delightfully unhinged Matthew Lillard.
I appreciate MatPat's character being named "Ness", an obvious nod to his most infamous Game Theory video that was relentlessly mocked (theorizing that Sans from Undertale was in fact Ness from EarthBound). Glad to see he has a sense of humor about it all these years later. I'm also someone who doesn't know jackshit about FNAF so all of this lore goes entirely over my head. But it's nice the fans have something to enjoy.
22:36 - yup this is definitely a sequel hook, though it's more directed towards The Puppet since you hear the music box "My Grandfather's Clock" playing in the background when it spells out "C.O.M.E F.I.N.D.M.E.".
As a Fnaf fan I loved it so much, Fnaf was and still is my childhood, the first game came out one day before my 4th bday, my freind got me into Fnaf in kindergarten when I beleive Fnaf 3 was almost about to come out, and since I’m still in my childhood, it’s still part of it
Fun fact about Coryxkenshin, he rose in popularity directly because of fnaf after discovering a glitch that reveals that the animations are voiced by kids after the screaming from foxy elongated until it becomes a child
Me and my sister actually watched this film in theaters, and when Balloon Boy suddenly popped up in that locker, I distinctly remember screaming “OH” in shock, which concerned some guy sitting next to me
If I was into fnaf sooner, I probably would've done the same thing. Luckily, I watched some gameplays and finished the movie today so I'm caught up now.
fun fact: KArl is named Karl because the fan name for cupcake back in the day was Karl the Cupcake, so they named the character killed by mr cupcake Karl. And Foxys dum diddledi dum was voiced by Kellen Goff in the mocie, who is Funtime Freddys, Sun/Moons and Glamrock Freddys VA in the games
This is probably the best Cameo on the channel for me. Matapat and Cory definitely deserved to be in the movie, but it is kinda sad Mark couldn't make it because he was making Iron Lung.
Maybe for the inevitable sequel? I'm not a Fnaf fan due to brain incompatibility (seizures from trying it cause it does sound awesome but alas happens sometimes). I love seeing things made with passion for the fans do well. It's a joy I have never forgotten after Batman Begins that reshaped my views on adaptations entirely.
20:54 William was depicted as purple because its was implied he was in the shadows and wasn't actually purple. His son however was actually purple after he got scooped and revived as a husk
@@swagsloth4037 for Michael? It's because the body actually does that during decomposition. blood settles at the palms and soles of your feet and they turn purple (the reason i came up with for why mike was purple all over is because his corpse was still being moved around even after death)
10:57 one little thing you missed though, everyone was killed in ways that reference the games, not just foxy and freddy's kills. In FNAF 1, Bonnie is the only animatronic you'll ever see in the supply closet and Bonnie kills his guy in a supply closet. In FNAF 4, you actually *can* in fact get killed by Carl the cupcake as he has his own jumpscare and the jumpscare looks similar to how the other guy was killed by the cupcake in the movie
Bonnie's closet sequence is also depicted in The Fourth Closet, the first novel, where he was depicted as hiding in an office several characters ducked into for cover. There are quite a few things in the movie that somewhat parallel TSE and its two later sequels in a similar way to the games, but it's definitely got its own identity despite that.
I know that James called the first guard “Security Guard 1” but Dawko had a theory that the first guard could be Jeremy Fitzgerald aka the guard we play as in the second game
Lol matpat making a cameo at the end in his costume was VERY unexpected. I cant tell you how much this film means to the fans, especially the ogs like myself.
22:39 “COME FIND ME” may be a reference to an ending of Custom Night in Sister Location, where Michael goes through a monologue about himself and the animatronics, ending with “I’m going to come find you” “Father. It's me, Michael. I did it. I found it. It was right where you said it would be. They were all there. They didn't recognize me at first but then they thought I was you. And I found her. I put her back together, just like you asked me to. She's free now. But something is wrong with me. I should be dead. But I'm not. I've been living in shadows. There is only one thing left for me to do now. I'm going to come find you. *I'm going to come find you.”*
Scott has said that the novelization is slightly outdated from the original script with the main outlier being Doug being a pervert so Aunt Jane being dead could have been something they were going with before scrapping it and it somehow coming back.
@@isplat927 true, but i still feel it’s strongly enough implied in the movie to count it. plus, if i’m being honest… i liked the novelisation more than the actual thing. so i’m just a little biased.
The lady's "offscreen death" was SO unsatisfying like the slightly sympathetic girl gets THE most brutal kill of the movie but the despicable lady is dead offscreen?
Even worse: there's some implications from some behind the scenes scripting that Aunt Jane might've survived. So not only did the most despicable character not get a knarly death, she also may have lived : /
I've been watching since they were on their comedy channel Practical Folks (started there sometime in 2015, how is that 8 years ago?!), before Dead Meat was even created. It's been amazing to see the growth that they've made, while still maintaining the fun, love of the craft, and dedication to making as perfect content as possible.
Yup. I remember that first Friday the 13th video popping up in my recommended a couple months after it dropped and I loved the formst. I remember him talking alot about his previous channel on that video
I find it very interesting how this movie simultaneously makes the deaths in FNAF more violent but less gruesome. Canonically, rather than the weird metal plates he's got going on, the Springlocks were originally metal rods that would shoot into the animatronic's endoskeleton to keep it in place and go straight into a person's body if they ever got too loose during wear. And dying in a Fazbear suit head would more entail having one's skull caved in and lacerated by several crossbeams, instead of being ground up by a bunch of whirring blades. The deaths in this version of FNAF may technically be more violent, but they also feel slightly less gorey and disturbing from how they would've been if they'd stayed true to the games.
Some fans theorize that the "come find me" voice in the credits could be foreshadowing for the second movie because the puppet's music box was playing in the background. Some think that Mike's younger brother, Garrett, might be the puppet and that it's like a message to Mike to come find him.
yh but the movies are seperate from the game and book lore as mikes isnt williams son and williams controlling the children so i think this theory could definently be true@@isabelleshepherd9552
Oh James, not only did a servo almost set Foxy on fire... It actually happened for real, as i believe Emma Tammi recalls being on set and hearing one of the crew members whisper to another: "Foxy's arm is on fire"
8:15 I always just figured that since the kid that slashed him in the dream was the one within Foxy, what happened is that Foxy physically walked into the office and slashed him while asleep. That "Five Nights at Freddy Krueger's" is golden however
In the novel. The guard is given a proper name as bob and it goes into graphic uncensored details of him getting sliced apart by saw Freddy and his final thoughts
??? matpat retired in 2024, the movie was released 2023 edit: seems like the guy's referring to the numbers bit, to which i respond with the fact that his retirement isn't a full retirement, he's just stepping away from the mic and/or camera but still doing background creative work and doing occasional cameos
For anyone who is confused about the springlocks, here’s a super quick and basic on how they work/kill you. It’s basically millions of super high tension springs holding billions of robotic parts to the sides of the suit. When these springs shit the bed (which is a pretty easy thing to happen), these robot parts shoot into the person in the suit at terrifying speeds. Piercing the flesh and shattering bones, ripping organs and tearing the person apart from every angle. The movies version was a whole lot less brutal, but the movies rendition is still bone chillingly horrific knowing what’s going on inside that suit. Edit for clarification: soooo billions was an overstatement. Still a crap ton of robo parts. Also, I made the death seem a lot quicker than it is. In the games, it’s a slow process of being unable to scream due to vocal cords being ripped to bits and slowly drowning in your own blood due to your lungs being impaled on many sides.
Billions is a bit of an overstatement, but yeah, it's not pleasant. It's not quite as instant a kill as you portray, though: they might not shatter bone, but they have a tendency to pierce from several angles and lead to death by blood loss, infamously (in at least one continuity) piercing the victim's lungs and throat, preventing them from calling for help while they drown in their own blood.
Yo i'm a FNAF noob when it comes to lore, but when that one kid was put inside of an animatronic's mouth by his big brother and friends, wasn't it his tears falling onto the machinery that made the animatronic's mouth malfunction and bite him?
20:52 To answer this, in case someone hasn't, he is purple.. but that happens later! Right now he's still fresh and human looking, the purple comes after being in the suit for like.. a decade lol
@@Soldfor62cents well some of the kids he killed he was using his good old purple suit but for the main 5 kids of fnaf 1 yea he used the spring bonnie suit, but yea some kids like charlie were killed even whitout him using the spring bonnie suit, and his purple doesen't mean he is purple it's just the suit
The MatPat cameo forced a smile on my face like no other. Hearing about his soon to be retirement truly hurts, especially seeing as how I’ve known about this guy since I was in middle school, over 10 years ago, it truly brings genuine emotions out of me seeing him collab with another favorite channel of mine
Her death was like so unexpectedly brutal for a PG-13 that it makes much more rewarding Golden Chainsaw. The best kill award is going to be harsh between Max and Valentina from Saw X
11:48 I think this is a reference to either 1. Balloon boys “Hellos” but just saying follow me. He weirdly kinda sounds like him. Or 2. The fnaf 3 Shadow freddy “Follow me” cutscene Or both.
Thank you so much for putting my shoutout in this kill count!Five Nights at Freddy’s genuinely means so much to me as a franchise, and I absolutely love the movie, so hearing my user in this video specifically genuinely means so so much to me!
As someone who never got to go to Chucky E cheese as a kid, the expressions and movements of the animatronics genuinely **amazed** me when I first saw this in theatres
Sparky the dog was actually the first HOAX character of the franchise. He originated from a fake screenshot of a dog animatronic peeking into parts and service. Fake animatronics being created and claimed to be real was a prominent trend during the first and second game and Sparky was the first. It was a huge suprise seeing him in the movie
@@FrightNight765 yeah that was the time where I heard less and less of em, if at all. Aside from Fredbear from that FNAF 3 teaser, I can't recall any hoax character from around that time
The animatronics in this movie just look so amazing, perfect 1:1 recreation. Then again i wouldn't expect anything less from The Jim Henson Creature Shop.
My dad who knows nothing about fnaf liked actually like the movie he called “an introduction to horror for kids” something to ease them into it. Honestly I like that point of view. True safety lies not in protection but in preparation and resilience.
I do agree, though I feel like Coraline and Jordan Peele's Wendell and Wild are generally better movies for introducing kids to spookier movies/horror in general, but maybe that's also me being a sucker for animation lol
Correction: Mike getting injured in the dream DOES happen again, when he’s attacked after rejecting the ghost kids offer. You can see the injuries (or at least the cuts in his clothing for the rest of the climax)
The theater I was in had a good amount of kids and not only were they a good audience, a kid in the same row as me would whisper-yell excitedly "Chica!" Whenever she was on screen. That was truly so adorable and made it more fun knowing how much these kids loved this horror thing that was age appropriate
@@EarthwormShandy1. It shouldn’t matter to you what the parents let them watch 2. Downvote is for Reddit 3. If you’re gonna downvote, why? What does OP have to do with anything said?

Which wog is letting kids watch a 15 rated movie? Some single female who doesn't know how to raise a child probably
Cory's line of "why do I always get the weirdos" inspired a fun headcanon of mine, which is that prior to driving Golden Freddy and Abby, he also drove William, in his spring bonnie outfit, to the pizzeria as well, and has been led to believe theres a weird meetup going on there
I think the "cheesy ass sequence" is PERFECT characterization. It shows that the animatronics are still just kids, and they are just as playful as Abby
IMO I don't get how people defend that goofy ass scene. Sure they're kids but they are angry, vengeful beings who attack out of fear and anger. Years of rotting in those putrid suits turned them into wraiths of anger that would be unrecognizable to their parents. Also that scene completely breaks any tension set up in the film.
@scoobysnak07 because it fits the narrative. They are kids who made friends with Abby and could actually enjoy the childhood that was stolen from them. Their anger and vengeance is saved for the adults and not the fellow kids. The only reason they even saved Mike is because she told them not to hurt him.
@@CowKirbo true it does fit the idea that, "they interact with the kids just fine", but personally I still think the scene was too out of place and was a detriment to the scary tone of the film (which was practically nonexistent)
I respect James so hard. He's not afraid to tell anyone his mind but then also makes sure you know that he understands that this movie was made for the fans above anything else, and that what he thinks doesn't really matter since it wasn't made for him. I truly respect anyone willing to give their own thoughts on something, but then also acknowledge that while it's their opinion, don't disregard the movie cause it wasn't made for them. Truly a respectful and caring man, even for stuff that may not be directly in his line of sight.
Slight correction: Mike wasn't letting their aunt take custody of Abby. He just needed somebody to keep watch over Abby that night, and he was basically out of options. Abby does think this means Mike is giving her up, though. 16:07
Just a couple quick things: 1) The torture mask isn’t an actual costume mask. It was built by Afton specifically for torture and murder. 2) The FNAF 2 animatronics are called the Toys not the Funtimes (Funtimes are from Sister Location - FNAF 5)
The fort scene is important because it reiterates what the animatronics are: *children* I really like the twist with Vanessa’s identity at the end, but it makes me wonder where Elizabeth Afton (William’s canonical daughter) is? If they plan to do more movies, Elizabeth and her subsequent death are a *massive* part of Security Breach.
The fact that MatPat either still has his costume from the movie or he got another one after shooting makes me so happy.

Fun fact, they made the spring locks a whole lot less violent because in the games they’re basically these metal rods that when unwound would shoot into the animatronic to keep it in place, and it gets crazy violent when it happens to a person.
Especially On The Neck Has Springlocks Too
And Eyes
Only time we have seen how spring locks work is in the silver eyes book. And it seems more like hooks that come out to latch onto the endoskeleton
Is more like because the spring lock wasnt planned in the first writing of the movie
@@bacongodplays6259 we've seen springlocks on the 5th game I believe. We were put in an actual springlock suit and we needed to "unwind" the locks. Going by the name springlock, it would mean that the animatronic parts would shoot into the body when it fails.

The "purple" was more of a visual metaphor to make the character more distinct and recognizable as he was first presented in an 8 bit setting.
I do think he starts to actually be purple but thats not until he begins to physically rot while half alive in the suit after 30+ years
William doesn't really turn purple due to him barely having any flesh left in the suit. His son Michael does end up being purple after having his insides ripped out.

Seeing MatPat for the To The Numbers bit made me so happy, seeing you both collab for that bit was so dang cool.

Thank you for the explanation! I admit I was wondering the same thing as him.

Hi guy I watch and subscribed to on my main channel
Agreed, it feels a little more gimmicky in the movie if that makes sense?
In the movie they were still pretty gruesome, but due to the pg-13 rating they got censored
Some fans theorize that the "come find me" voice in the credits could be foreshadowing for the second movie because the puppet's music box was playing in the background. Some think that Mike's younger brother, Garrett, might be the puppet and that it's like a message to Mike to come find him.

MatPat ye sneaky fuck!
Springlocks sound like something Jigsaw would make ngl.

I’ve been to many Chuck E Cheese’s in my childhood and only one had “animatronics”
Most of them were employees in suits
Sparky the dog was actually the first HOAX character of the franchise.
He originated from a fake screenshot of a dog animatronic peeking into parts and service.
Fake animatronics being created and claimed to be real was a prominent trend during the first and second game and Sparky was the first.
It was a huge suprise seeing him in the movie
They were still being made during FNaF 3 and even 4. Though becoming less prominent as they went on.
@@FrightNight765 yeah that was the time where I heard less and less of em, if at all.
Aside from Fredbear from that FNAF 3 teaser, I can't recall any hoax character from around that time
I’m pretty sure hoaxes of Phantom Bonnie and a Nightmare JJ were going around for a short amount of time
@@mynameisharry8739Don't forget the Shadow Bonnie hoax.
@ender01o66 Shadow Bonnie wasn’t a hoax, just exceedingly rare. Markiplier got him on stream at one point semi-recently.
The animatronics in this movie just look so amazing, perfect 1:1 recreation. Then again i wouldn't expect anything less from The Jim Henson Creature Shop.
Yeah, the production design is the only good thing from this movie.
My dad who knows nothing about fnaf liked actually like the movie he called “an introduction to horror for kids” something to ease them into it. Honestly I like that point of view. True safety lies not in protection but in preparation and resilience.
thats literally what Josh Hutcherson said in an interview lmao
exactly, in a very similar way to Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark did, it’s like a gateway horror film
Why were there kids in a violent movie screening? Lol bad parenting lol downvoted! ^_^
@@EarthwormShandy1. It shouldn’t matter to you what the parents let them watch
2. Downvote is for Reddit
3. If you’re gonna downvote, why? What does OP have to do with anything said?
@@Jackdawwwwww Lol downvoted
It does concern me because parents are letting their kids watch this 15 rated movie, which screams to me bad parenting.
It even has swears in too, so it's bad parenting if they let their kids watch a 15 rated movie with gore and swearing
So they don't even deserve to have kids, or they should have aborted them from the start when the bint of the parenting got pregnant.
Which wog is letting kids watch a 15 rated movie?
Some single female who doesn't know how to raise a child probably
@@EarthwormShandy it’s not even that gorey
@@Jackdawwwwww theyre probably just trolling
@@scoobysnak07Still kids, ya goof.
@@scoobysnak07 I fully disagree. Plus, I will say there wasn't all that much they could do with a PG13 rating.
23:25 He is getting closer and closer to a final one
Less than two weeks 😢❤
Final what???
@@tiphanieseantay958Game Theory. MatPat is retiring.
@@quickman2663Ten years too late.
im so sad, bro im going to miss him so much
I respect James so hard. Truly a respectful and caring man, even for stuff that may not be directly in his line of sight.
but Matt pat
James has always kept his cool for years. He deserves every respect for all his work
@@naki051 but matt pat
True. Even tho ive been a fan for years and didnt enjoy the film i like that it at least exists
A fanservice movie still sucks tho. Fanservice is only good in small doses.
Slight correction: Mike wasn't letting their aunt take custody of Abby. He just needed somebody to keep watch over Abby that night, and he was basically out of options. Abby does think this means Mike is giving her up, though. 16:07
Holy shit Mat Pat jumpscare. Also, can't believe he, Josh Hutcherson, and CoryXKenshin were on the Kill Count. So cool.
I died when MatPat showed up. My words were literally “IS THAT FUCKING MATPAT!?!?”
Same lol 😂
this is quite a year for matpat, not surprised seeing him on this kill count!
Just a couple quick things: 1) The torture mask isn’t an actual costume mask. It was built by Afton specifically for torture and murder. 2) The FNAF 2 animatronics are called the Toys not the Funtimes (Funtimes are from Sister Location - FNAF 5)
YESSSSSS

The fort scene is important because it reiterates what the animatronics are: *children*
I really like the twist with Vanessa’s identity at the end, but it makes me wonder where Elizabeth Afton (William’s canonical daughter) is? If they plan to do more movies, Elizabeth and her subsequent death are a *massive* part of Security Breach.
