Tony Wu The board came with 97mm wheels installed and they use a different core from the 115mm wheels. Since I was switching to wheels that have a different core, I had to change the wheel mount also.

Hey for the shred lights on the black carve are you using the standard mounts?
Versatile671 Flat mounts but you can use any mounts for the Black Carve direct drive version.

Another advantage of direct drive is heat dissipation. Hub motors are wrapped in urethane and do not dissipate heat as well.

I just got the delivery of the board yesterday. I feel even better about it after watching this video. I had an Ownboard carbon before. This is definitely a level up in terms of power, look, and comfort. I love the fact that how easy it is to swab tires. It takes one minute to do it. Probably you can do it on the street if you want to.
What made you want to upgrade from the Ownboard Carbon?
@@V1NC3J Ownboard was really good board and nothing wrong with it. But I wanted more power and speed. Ownboard tops out at 26mph with cloud wheels. Meepo V3 I had went 28mph. Just wanted 12s power as all other high-end boards have.

I was one of the first to buy his direct drive board. Back when it was still the DS Black Carve. I absolutely love the board. I smoke just about everyone... Well everyone actually. The only drawback as DKWAN stated was the fact that the motors are low and will get nicks. Fabian did what most couldn't re quality vs price...I whole heartedly recommend the DD Onsra

Bought Jan 27 and delivered March 25th. I'm in Canada. Why the refund? Spent the better part of a year looking for the right board.

I used to own a BB V2 Dual Plus which after 1300 miles suffered the motor bearing problem. I personally now have learnt the more moving parts the more trouble so brought this board because of the fact there are no problems worrying about snapped belts ect ect.
Fabi is a legend and someone I really respect in the skateboarding and electric skateboarding. His attention to detail is great and has passion in what he does. Really happy to see a professional review of his production

This board is on the top of my list of boards for sure. It looks super good and the specs are amazing. Not to mention its a lot cheaper than other boards with close to the same specs.

I've been riding my boundmotor direct drive kit for about a month now, and I've ridden it over gigantic rocks the size of my fist without any problems. I'm pretty sure the bearings will give out before the motor housings do.

Yo buddy , so my is actually the last of “Fäboard black carve“ and its great . Even its a 10s4p board yes its running awesome and brings me a lot of fun while sliding around on forest pathes or carving trough my city . I ve no seriously issues whith it ,everything is fixable ,the only issue is speedwobbles and can not be fixed you know. I am proud to be a black carver ,probably the only one in a diameter of 300km . People here more goin on MoBo , never mind that one. All the people here love to see me ridin around and are pretty impressed . Hafe fun take care bro ,see ya

The 'reviews' from that are from the same person who designed/ is selling the board always feel more like infomercials to me so I appreciate your objectivity.
This board is amazing, love how quiet it is. Only downside is as the video show the motors easy get scratched.

My fav board I've ridden is gen2 evolve with blue caguamas. Smooth quiet really good free roll. Lacked power though. I think this would suit me perfectly. Silent board is so underrated

I'm finding more and more that Evolve Skateboards are a little bit like Collingwood football club. You are either a 1 eye supporter, or you avidly and religiously hate them. Be nice to see some more objective views coming out on it. Kinda jarring just to see the 1 of 2 sides all the time.

I have a bamboo gtr, a boosted board, an exway pro riot and a Verreal rs on the way. I need to stop watching eBoard videos... direct drive motors are pretty sweet tho, no belts to change you say? Lol should I buy a 5th electric skateboard?
DD motors aren't without flaws and they aren't necessarily the best of both worlds between hubs and belts. Once DDs actually malfunction, it's arguably more difficult to actually service the drivetrain and it might warrant an entire replacement. They work well...when they do. While this is irrelevant to some prebuilts, DDs cannot externally adjust gearing on larger/smaller wheels to compensate for performance sidegrades. On a belt driven system, you can to some extent. Maintenance on a belt driven system isn't THAT bad either. There's not really a superior edge in the ease of maintenance between the 3 esk8 drivetrains.
And the fact that they have to be so low to the ground not ideal for AT but good thing they come with big 115 wheels
@@anthonysiu6010 wheel cloice is kinda like any color you want, so long as it's black.
I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Boundmotor D1 over the weekend. They're a direct drive board with the same Ownboard carbon deck. Plus it's US based (correction: china based) and free international shipping which is useful for Canada since there's likely to be a customs fee. Plus it has an open source esc.
There's a new version of ownboard AT1W, it looks good, using a hub motor with a rubber wheels, hope you can review it

I own a Halo Beast and this BC board is a 100% part-for-part clone... deck, battery cover, trucks, power cables, motors/covers, even the remote and display. The only difference I can see is the custom grip tape.

I was on the Raldey board and the battery failed on me. I don’t know much about boards but I think that the belt drive made it come to a sudden and almost immediate stop from about 25mph. I ended up wiping out, cracked my helmet and had a pretty bad concussion. So now I’m a little scared to get back on the board. With the hub drive or direct drive boards if the battery fails will it coast?

Can you comment on whether their 115 wheels are as good or better than the 105 cloud wheels. I'm looking for board that is low maintenance, can absorb cracks and rough roads, and provide a nice smooth ride. I will only be riding on paved roads. Mild carving. Hoping to avoid the risk of my wheels losing traction. Not sure if I should get the Backfire or G3 or this Onsra because of their big tires.

Is there any option to put the drives in 'neutral' if the batteries would die, so the rider could still ride it like a traditional board until he got home?
If you turn off the board, that’s basically ‘neutral’. Electric skateboards are generally tiring to push though compared to regular boards.

Hey Daniel any idea where I can get a set of those ABEC cores for the dd I don’t think they’re included with my black carve...haven’t gotten my board yet but from what Fabi email says it’ll only have the kegel cores for the 115mm wheels I had put on the board.
I assumed Fabi would sell them.

Great review as always. My finger has been on the BUY Botton for this board for some days now, its a lot of money for a person like me, but looks like its worth every penny :) In 1:22 you are putting some liquid in the motor, what is it and why ?
The liquid is Loctite superglue, to prevent the screws to become loose
Also called threadlocker.

Can you compare the Onsra Variant to the Original Faboard v2 Black Carve? The original seems like it's currently the cheapest Direct Drive board on the market rn, but it doesn't seem as refined as the Onsra varient. The Esk8 community seems to really dislike Fabian and his products that he originally launched.

I was also a bit negatively biased about this board due to the previous boards he made, but with this review, it seems really solid, and could be a nice board to get 👍🏻.
It’s really nice for those who don’t want the maintenance side of a belt drive, but also want the other advantages of it.
What about empty battery and having to push the direct drive board? Hard to push like belt or just as easy like hubmotor?

So the question is what board would u buy if you were getting into the electric skateboard scene. Im tossing up between onsara or a evolve gt carbon.why? Love the onsara for its lower heat on drives and the smooth ride that it has claimed. Evolve board for being a big company and if it breaks i can get fixed here in Australia not having to send away for weeks on end in freight. Any tips pls help buying in September love ur vid just subscribed thumbs up buddy.

Looks like a good board but only time will tell how it holds up.
Are there repair centers? Are the part's readily available?Will they be around long enough to honor the warranty.
You have to own the board to really know this. Reviews can only tell you so much unless there long-term reviews.
I've ownd plenty of cheaper boards that were decent at first then six months later they're broke and I can't get them repaired.
This is just my experience from someone that's ownd over 20 electric skateboards and have been riding them for many years now.

your videos are underrated considering the amount of effort u put in them but anyways i like this board a lot but where i live there’s bumpy roads do i get the exway flex or this one? i weigh around 107 pounds and i’m 13 idk if the flex would help with the bumpy roads or not.

I think you’d be happy with either one. You’re quite light so you might want to consider the weight of the board, especially if you have to carry it up and down stairs.
