Guys I’m using AI synthesized speech because I’m dealing with a speech impairment issue. It does not save me any time to make videos this way. If you watch my videos where I use my own voice you’ll see that my natural voice has deteriorated. I am being treated for it so hopefully I’ll be able to speak normally again. But if not, AI will only get better so just try to put up with it for now pls. Thnx.
I am so sorry! I hope fore the best. For what it's worth, I didn't even notice. I was paying attention to what you were saying but not how it was being said.
Not that i dont find your normal voice amazing ofcourse, i mean more like nicely done, i have a few voiceclones myself but i can always hear the difference myself so its fun to finally be tricked by someone else haha
I use my backfire G3 daily for commuting to campus and I take it with my into every classroom! It’s just to much fun and way better than a scooter or the bus
Very cool video, man. Been following you since you started and can say that you’ve really hit your stride. Fun, interesting, informative and non-biased. Keep it up, man. Seems like, even though you praise it in the video, but this board has too many negatives to seriously consider it as a go-to board: Easy chipping of the wood, the temperature issue, quality control issues on the controller, not easy maintenance, starting from zero on an incline issues, etc. Yes, it’s small and light, but there are other options out there, which are better built it seems.
I Would appreciate if there is better option, Light, Portable, good bettery, no resistance when kicking without using motor power. Please let me know. I am thinking to get
With you mentioning the portability/weight and AT boards I more and more would love to see your review of Hunterboard. It seems like the perfect all around daly rider but I feel like there is more to it than just looks and bright claims on their website
That motor will get destroyed here in the north. They try to clean the sand on the roads after winter but after cleaning roads there are still small pebbles and dust on the roads. After a few hard rainy days the dust washes mostly away.
i dont know given the amount of issues and oddities that come with this board I really can’t find a reason to put it above any other electric short board. $1300 is an outrageous price for something this mediocre. build quality seems cheap and it shows in the ESC performance and cheap remote.
Someone should make a 3D printable cover for the most popular skateboard remotes that can be attached easily with the wrap-around functionality of this remote.
Love the aesthetic and size/weight, but there’re just too many quirks to justify the price. Low clearance of direct drive is okay if it’s easier to change wheels, and wheel bite for just 80mm wheels is kind of problematic. Plus the imperfections of the board and the remote make it looks like a beta version instead of a launch product. Again love the idea and the aesthetic, no problem with the price and performance, but will wait for a more “finished “ version.
This looks great but kinda too first gen for it to worth rn. If it gets a revision and address most of the issues, it could totally displace the exway wave as the best board for most people
It would be cool to see more boards that focus on portability and have a cruiser or downhill board aesthetics. I've been skating a traditional skateboard since I was a kid and use the electric skateboard mainly to get to work or run some errands - it's practical and fun. I don't need it to have crazy range or speed, like you said around 30 km/h is enough. The weight and carryabilty in general is super important. This board looks very interesting but the contrast of well designed and executed trucks, deck with the DIYish jankiness of the cables is a bit discouraging given the prices. Hopefully they polish it up a bit :)
Commenting because I like Daniel and his content. I think you need to branch out. You definitely have the talent for YT just too bad that e-skating isn't a large enough community to support you.

Cheaply made with very old components $150 Flipsky 4.2 vesc and a $29 Vx1 remote using hfi with a poorly finished deck and geezus the wiring hanging out of it underneath! Hello 2019. That remote honestly, looks like cheap shit dude. I get why you like the board for the analogue feel and lightweight portability but for the price and quality.... It's a hard no and should be for everyone.
Exactly! The only good thing I ever heard about Raith is their record top speed while it's just a question of gearing and high Kv motors at the expense of torque. Also their entry model only reaching 30km/h is a joke.
Great review, always excited to see new lightweight boards. This one seems too cumbersome though with the bulky remote and the low-to-the-ground motors that give me anxiety just thinking about going over pebbles or small rocks
Nice video 😄 I personally can't see anything justifying the price of this board. It's absurd even. I still love my Backfire Zealot (with the old, flexy board). It's kind of a perfect price and performance and form factor in my opinion. But with that said I still respect the innovation 😊 That's the only good thing about it though....
Love the videos! As someone curious about e-skateboards, but with a history of crashing hard a couple times on a regular skateboard then never skating again, I keep searching for what it's like to brake on an e-skateboard. One of the draws for me is the ability to brake without needing to foot brake, but nearly all the e-skate videos I've seen seem to shy away from really showing braking performance/limits. Any chance you could explore braking performance of different boards in a video sometime?
Braking performance is somewhat difficult to quantify for an eboard. Shorter braking distance doesn’t necessarily equal better because you can get thrown off or lose traction. The important part is that the brake control feels smooth and predictable. Fortunately all the decent boards nowadays have pretty good brakes - both in terms of braking power and smoothness. And if they feel too strong or too weak, most boards nowadays let you adjust brake strength.
Something like this would be what i am looking for, but its way out of my price range. Is this even better than the Exway Wave though while vosting so much more? I think the weight is pretty close.
Hi Daniel, I always enjoy your videos. Would you consider making a video about China and Shanghai and how you see the economy and life these days? I'm tired of hearing biased information and I would enjoy your take on this.
A very comprehensive review. I watched it from start to finish. Your content is only getting better. I couldn't put my finger on the extra polish in this video until it hit me. I am not against using AI and scripts for the voice-over. I am looking forward to your next review.
Although I'm quite disappointed with the lack of torque in my just bought Exway Ripple, I guess that putting the price into the balance I would probably it gives more for the buck. How do you feel about it? How do they stack up against each other?
Idk why it’s so hard to build a good commuter board. All the batteries with the exception of the wave are way too big. There’s so many places where access to charging is available throughout the daily commute. Commuter boars need to focus on weight. Even two motors are over kill. Nobody is going 20-30 mph in the city. It’s not about cost or price. Reducing batteries, motors, and speed, will result in massive weight savings and reduced costs. There’s so many options for large heavy boards but zero for lightweight commuter boards. My only option is to piece together my own board due to the lack of options.
They're definitely doing some cool stuff here. The second generation could be worth considering. Also, please don't use that AI voice. Feels a lot less uhhhh human.
The whole rotor needs to come off with the wheel or else the magnets will cause the rotor to become positioned incorrectly. I tried without taking off the rotor and kept having problems.
Might as well take the money and buy a TYNEE Mini 3 Pro: Longer Range. Faster Speed. Belt Drive. Dependable Hill Climb. Good Acceleration. Stability. Covered Motors. Splash Proof. Easy to Swap Wheels.....& last of all will not break the bank. I can take the spare change and buy more Coffee x Bread ☕ 🥪 TYNEE Mini 3 Pro is probably 2kg more than the Raith Rocket but no complaints with that...
I have to disagree, Eskate are ready for off road and has already been proven in the field. As for the Market turning the other way. That might be true but Off Road allows the rider to explore parks and more that would normally be overlooked by a push boarder. So to me there is a need for this and it would allow people to ride in many more places together. I have met skaters who are like, Whoa with Eyes wide open. Raith is "just down the road" from my work. While I respect their engineering, I have to admit I worry about the future for a company that sells a board capable for doing 130kmph out of the box, to "just anyone", limited only by those who will pay for it. It feels like a legal timebomb waiting to go off, disclaimers or no disclaimers. It feels like a matter of time until they're in court because someone wound up in a wheelchair or dead and the family is claiming the board either failed or should not have been sold in the first place. I am pretty sure they're not much bigger than a couple of guys in a house.
