the raspy, crackly sound in his voice is something i can never get out. Absolutely beautiful
What a glorious human being. Brian Fallon is one hell of a songwriter. Whether he is in a band, or solo, his musings are pure gold. He simply cannot be touched. Get an acoustic in his hands and it's over for music as we know it. Keep 'em coming Brian! CHEERS!
golden word‘s ❤️ CHEERS!
Truth!!!!
This song reminds me so much of a wonderful woman I dated a couple of years ago. She was a little older than me, and for years she'd been alone, watching as all of her friends and family found relationships, got married, had kids, and yet she couldn't find anyone to love her the way she deserved, and how that weighed on her psyche, and her self-worth. And even though it didn't work out--I loved her but we were at different stages in life--I really was lucky to meet her, and lucky that I got to hold her.
Jerry hits too close to home. She was 36 and I was 26. I’m 30 now and she’s married and I assume happy.
That's beautifully mellon collic
This might be one of my favorite comments on UA-cam.
That's a really beautiful sentiment brother 🙏
I love how Brian Fallon's ability to make an old song feel like a completely new one.
And everybody’s hurt, mine ain’t the worst but it’s mine and I’m feeling it now ❤
The voice of our generation! Simply amazing.
Great art transcends time. I claim Brian as mine, too. And I was born the year Jerry Lee Lewis recorded Great Balls of Fire.
Best song on the record
Steve McQueen
I cannot get enough of this album.
an absolute hero
Gênio! Brian Fallon is a example from human being! Cheers from Brasil 🇧🇷
Beautiful. What a maestro!
That's one huge microphone...
Awesome version! One of the best songs on the record!
Pretty standard size.
He's growing on me for sure. It's so weird how you feel with his music! You feel so desperate to love but at the same time you are terrified of bringing them down. Also, that's a beautiful guitar
This is my favourite song on the album. I wish he'd play it live!!
He has played it live, well in London he has
+Birdy Boy I hope he adds it to his US summer tour! 👍🏻
I do for you, he's honestly awesome and this song is awesome too
+Birdy Boy I get to see him several more times this summer, so it will be 7 times in less than six months. Super excited 😍👏🏻
Damn you're lucky, wish he came to London more, would definitely see him several times
I’m certain generations certain songs teach some depth. Bryson Fallon is a genius.
Lo amo
goose bumps...
This version is so unbelievably perfect. Wow. It works so much better like this. Incredible!
Ya say it’s gone all wrong!!! Love this song
Love this xxx
king
1.3k likes and absolutely no dislikes, perfectly balanced as everything should be
Soo good man 😌
So I didn't know, but I'm here on the day this video turns 3! What a nice coincidence
How many other artists can you youtube and find pages and pages of live sessions
I love you.
❤💜❤💜❤💜❤💜❤
damn .
How... I'm a decent lyricist but how does he do this
The blues, -Mary- Mitchell!
Jackson!
Golden comment hahaha
ha
Good question. He's been doing it since what... 2003?
I miss Gaslight...
Mike Ness and Brian should do a duet..
That would be really cool.
Totally agree with Neil Gillies and Perry Mason comments under here. We need more Gaslight/Fallon songs in this tempo, personally I think 80% of their songs are better in a acustic version, like My Name is the Night for example, a mediocre album version, brilliant acoustic: ua-cam.com/video/4cNkrfO1GXc/v-deo.html
insane
If Legend had a definitio of a person........
I wish this was the album version. Producer is not my friend
Great song, and I love Brian, but he really needs to work on his vocals. This one is kind of all over the place.
He’s not a fantastic singer but that’s part of the appeal for me
i am sorry to say it but he doesn't hit a note :(
It really doesn't matter. It's all about how you feel everytime he says a word. Sometimes (most of the times) you can hear pain and sorrow, some other times happiness and so on. He really doesn't have to hit a single note to make you feel and see the story behind the lyrics. And that my friend, it's the work of a genius, one of a kind.
I like Brian (i saw him live with gaslight in london 2014 )and i think painkillers is a great record. But live he is a bit disappointing. His voice doesn t match with the chords
I can see your point. I still think he does a pretty good job. Especially when it's just him, a guitar, and a small audience.
It's his imperfection that I admire
And how many albums have you sold? How many thousands come out to hear you sing?
OK enough of the sarcasm. I read a lot of comments about how different artist don't hit the notes or how their timing is off but I feel that 99% of the problems that do exist are more the fault of the format of you tube than of the artist.
I actually feel sorry for the young people of today who hear most if not all of their music through a digital player and a pair of ear buds. Oh how I miss the days of vinyl, not only was the sound quality IMHO superior to CDs listening to a new album was almost a spiritual experience, you'd gather your friends enjoy some good smoke carefully remove the wrapper, put the disk on the turntable carefully clean it adjust the strobe until you were at 33 and a third RPMs cue the stylus and let the magic happen. Yeah I miss Vinyl
I'm running you tube through a Hitachi Amp and a pair of old Klispchorn heresy speakers. It's sounds pretty good most of the time but there are, as I said some pretty rough files being shared.
a disaster version of a great song
