How we ride a MTB blue route with a toddler - riding cannock chase forest!

- Riding the new blue mountain bike trail at Cannock Chase with our just turned 3 year old son Harley and his friend Charlotte (@mtb_charlotte on Instagram) who kindly rode at his pace and gave him little bits of encouragement all afternoon!!
I made this video to (hopefully) show how we get around this trail with a toddler - from getting him dressed (and what we dress him in) to showing that there are meltdowns and it does sometimes go wrong which you won't typically see in our videos as, let's face it, failure doesn't show your child in their best light so most parents won't share it: here goes for a bit of the real thing!

Harley started the day on his Propain Frechdax (a 20inch full suspension mtb) but due to being so short (101cm tall) we had the bike lowered… turns out we lowered it too far and his pedals were touching the ground when cornering/going over rocks too easily so we switched back to his Prevelo Zulu two heir mountain bike... and he had a great time riding the trail! What you can't see is the Kids Ride Shotgun seat (and bars) on Harleys' dads bike and the Shotgun towrope in the rucksack - both ready in case he gets too tired to carry on or just needs a pull up the hills instead of a push (toddlers... one week they want to be towed up, the next they want to be pushed up... we like to be prepared for both, it reduces the tantrums!)
OH YEAH - and lastly... don't forget the juice/snacks for before, during and after and some spare clothes for after!!! (and sometimes during!!!)
