I Had My First Crash On My New Bike! *Riding The Caloosahatchee Regional Park Trails*

- I had my first crash riding my new E MTB on the trails of the Caloosahatchee regional park in Florida but it was still an amazing day of riding! We did 11 miles through the technical and well groomed trails that included sharp aggressive turns and even a section that had some jumps on it! This was so much fun and I'm so excited to ride it again.

It's such a joy to see you riding, Scotty. We all crash, and that's the crap part. You know better than I do how it goes. But I'm hoping despite a crash, this is the first of many riding videos we get. Even if it's just very chill trails forever, I'll be here to watch and enjoy the commentary because any time I get to relive Scotty on a bike and hearing the joy in his voice, hearing that beaming smile, feeling his healing process, it heals a part of my soul. We all lose parts of ourselves through the course of life, but seeing Scotty hold onto and regain what he can of riding is inspiring in the most visceral way.
This was the best hour ive had in forever! Hear me out, Scotty.....at least once nice long riding video every week or two? The happiness is contagious and it feels so personal, almost like really taking time to just hang out with you guys. The other videos just feel like cool videos, but this felt so much more real, like an experience rather than watching one. Maybe it's because I used to ride so much and I ride motorcycles, so it's a very familiar feeling to be in situations like this, but I'm sure I'm not the only one.
This is like a podcast!!!! I love the uncut video that lets me experience what it would be like to ride those trails and scotty just talking about life!!! I would watch more of these for sure!!! Took that fall like a champ!!! Glad you're okay!!!!!
Scott's positivity is contagious. I've followed this channel since a few months b4 his accident, right thru to now. Relocations and changes. Old faces and new, goals accomplished, new ones set. I don't hand out respect much but I have a ton of it here for Scotty. 👉🏼👽👈🏼

No shame in a shortcut when you're giving it your all. That was a fall worth being proud of and you even made it an opportunity to teach others about how falling can be safer when you choose to pull the eject cord sooner than later. Seeing you ride with Matty following at the end was the icing on the cake. This video was everything I needed today. Great riding, Scott. You'll make that hill next time!

Guys, you should know that somewhere on the other part of the planet there is a guy from Russia who had to leave his home because of war, who doesn't know when he will be back and will be able to ride his bike again and who is watching an hour video of yours and smiling the whole time. Great trails, great Scotty and Matthew who is one of a million brother! Well done boys!

If you're not falling off your bike you're not riding it enough. It's really great to see how happy it makes you to get back out on a bike. I wrecked my back on my mtn bike in the 90s and all the injuries slowly crept up on me My bum hip hasn't allowed me to pedal my bike with any strength for close to 4 years now. Seeing how much fun you had on that thing has me considering an ebike but I'd have to retrofit my old bike because I'd have to sell one of my cars to afford that fancy Cannondale 🤣
Please upload more of these 1hr riding/mtb vids. Perfect length for TrainerRoad workout motivation. More interesting to watch than Zwift. Love seeing FL trails, makes me miss home. You're a brave dude with sandy trails! Go hit up Ocala National Forest sometime, absolutely gorgeous area, a bunch of nice trails.

This was such an awesome video, beyond it being fantastic to see Scotty riding again it really shows how enjoyable the most simple of riding can be! I watch all kinds of crazy POVs and ride my bike all the time on some super unique terrain but I find watching this whole hour of commentated cruising through some beautiful scenery just as enjoyable. Goes to show anyone can have fun at any time on any kind of trails and appreciate the world and nature for all of its magnificence! I would love to watch more, and through more consistent riding and progression you never really know what kind of cool stuff you'll be doing in years to come. Excited to see the future for Scotty on a bike :)

Super cool video. Really great to see you out on the trails, Scotty. That looked SO fun. Where I live, I ride dirt roads in a similar way. I'm actually glad you fell. Especially there. low speed, no huge rocks or stumps. Falling, getting back up, and finishing must boost your confidence quite a bit. Great job!

This video has made me want to go out on my bike and get the same smile on my face! Life long fan of you Scotty, started BMX as a kid all because I saw you and Dave Mirra, i stopped riding years back now due to injury but watching you guys do things like this gives me so much motivation. I’ll be purchasing another BMX soon and best believe I’m going to go for it just to make myself happy again. Love to you and all behind the channel, peace ✌🏻

Scotty you should look at the mag clip pedals, they use magnets to hold your foot in place and are way easier to clip in and out
Yeah, mountain biking is a compliment to any discipline of riding IMO and its good for the soul

Well done Scotty! 👏 That's a trail I would love to ride. OK so remember slim line knee pads for your next ride and thanks for the advice for crashing to the side on steep ramps. That actually is really good advice.

I like this long format it’s kinda like an mtb podcast
I learned how to fall on a skateboard. If you try a proper skateboard bail on a bike you end up tangled up in the frame. I had to relearn how to fall all over again when I started riding.

We always go camping there, at the pavilion theres a pole (I think it’s blue) but it has a bunch of tools and a bike pump on it

Those hills to the right are called lions climb. That first one in clockwise direction is tuff.
There's an e-BMX bike called Chimera BMX. Titanium frame. Ryan Williams flipped one in the Nitro jump. I think Scotty needs one of these

The green bridges, three bridges, use to be about 18 inches wide and sharp turns. It was more fun then but now is more ridable for the gen pop.
Yes! I’ve been wanting to tell you this would be the perfect place for you to get some mtb miles in! Also if you park at the campground parking lot, it will take you right to the tree of life(which is where all the trails meet up in the middle) it allows you to do the back section which is mostly smooth. Instead of the front half which is the field section that has the ridges and more hilly. 👍🏽 keep up the great work

Hey Scott the 'small electronic peace' is cald an display. If you want tho take it of its possible the bike is equiped with the Bosch smart system so the +- controler can work as a display. You see the battery leven and the motor stand on it.

Scott have u looked into doing stem cell for your injury. Study show that it has been known to help ppl specifically with spinal cord injuries. Also love the video especially when u ride too.

The “pump track” was actually a pump track a few years back but then became a jump line for the most part. That will probably be going away for more parking and setting up a new pump track further down.

Edit: It's hard to believe that Matty, a man that has a family bike shop and has worked at said bike shop for a long time, doesn't have a single bike tool in his ride or on him.... My EDC tool, before I got a multi-tool, was an Alien bike tool w/ Allen's, screwdrivers, knife/saw, a few wrenches on the edges, spoke wrenches and a bottle opener. Super cool but kind of bulky but it works as a perfect emergency tool to keep in my EDC backpack every day.... 👍
