    I think that's genius and very practical. Lawnmowers should have that originally made or something similar to it from the manufacturer. im going to fix mine just like that. thanks for sharing pal

    I pull my kids in a trailer when i have the deck off, just fill it with blankets and stuff. I even zip tie up an umbrella. They love it, and it's too slow to be dangerous.

      awesome! Yeah, the speed is a little slow. This one is just a bit faster than the suped up powerwheel I made my son. Maybe in the 7 to 8 mph range.

    I had wheelie problems after removing the deck needs a front weight and the one I now with I put 22s on the back and wheelbarrow wheels with cartridge bearings on the front it cool because if you dont have a cultured lawn you can now mow the weeds at 4 to 5 inches tall and actually keep some moisture in rather than the short cut of the stock mower talking two tractors here and hey that flat fender next to the seat a 50 cal steel ammo box gives you a good place for straps chain and a spark plug wrench and stuff the best model I've made tractor supply suspension seat about 110 bucks a couple inches higher ride but arm rests and it slides back and forth had a couple for two years now and they are holding up the suspension adjusts also and there a drilling template on the box well worth it!

    I built one sort of like this and I find a front rack is the best for stuff I built mine to the size of a 5 gallon bucket with some braces on the side I use it for grain, water, chains, straps etc I built it out of scraps I think total cost was about 30 Canadian dollars. Get some walk behind snowblower tires I can turn on pure ice and they don’t break the bank. Good luck with your project and don’t forget to have fun with the mower

      Thank you for watching! That sounds like a good idea. My exhaust comes out right in the front but I have plans to reroute out the back. After that, I think I could do something like that.

    Great job, get yourself a 110 mig, PLENTY for projects like this. I use a pro mig 140 on gas, no Flux crap, that will discouraged you faster than anything. You can teach yourself in no time.......... scrap pieces and practice.........YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!!!!

      I definitely need to a welder and learn to use it. Maybe I should make that my 2022 resolution! Thank you for watching!

    Good use of a mower you’re weren’t otherwise using. I did something like this a couple years ago. Nice to see your take on it. Thanks for sharing.
    Also, I discovered that Sears craftsman did make something similar to this years ago that could be attached to the rear of a mower. Saw it online but never got it and ended up making it myself. Nice job. 👍

    I am only a minute into your video and all you had to say is "I looked into a UTV and well... they are expensive and barely better than a mower. Thanks for watching my video." LOL I just finished converting a craftsman lt1000 into a UTV for the same uses.

    • @ProjectNineOaks
      @ProjectNineOaks  2 роки тому +1

      LOL. You and me both with the expensive UTVs! A used Jeep Wrangler is cheaper! This old craftsman is still going strong, just used it to spray weeds in the orchard this past weekend. Good luck with yours!

    You need a little wire feeder welder with flux cor. You can learn to put down decent welds in a few hours with one. They are inexpensive and very handy. Nice video and this has been my same thought for quite some time. ATVS and UTVS are way over priced.

    • @ProjectNineOaks

      Thank you for the suggestion. I definitely need to learn to weld. Just haven't dove into to learning yet. Thank you for watching. Good luck on your project!

      @@ProjectNineOaks I'd suggest a little stick welder over a flux core. My first welder was a $300 Hobart flux core, and I could never weld good with it, and they're not very powerful. Then I bought a cheap chinese $100 stick welder, and I can weld soooo much better. And it welds thicker material.

    I would like to know if you could put on a 2nd fuel tank so you can run into town and pick up hardware or groceries or what have you

    • @ProjectNineOaks
      @ProjectNineOaks  Рік тому

      One tank should be fine to last about an hour of run time for this one. That would be a slow travel to the store. This one only goes about 6 or 7 mph I believe.

      @@ProjectNineOaks 1. I agree if we are talking about the main grocery store 45km away, but I was talking corner store 2 blocks away (post office up the street from it; hole town can fit in a mile square with forest around it (if we had real trees))) and 2. it's for haling items like boxes of kitty litter and cat food and people food. not to mention people food (and trust me, around these parts of Alberta, bread is HEAVY! takes 2 guys to pick up 1 loaf! just kidding (i hope). when I was trying to find out about rebuild kits and stuff, I found pictures of custom bodies and stuff and then started thinking what really could be done to this thing. I do not need a racing mower/tractor but what can make it run better and safe as much fuel as i can. THAN I started wondering about distance riding (no lawn mower bits); distance, how many miles in stock tank, and how long it would take.

    switch the drive and deck pulleys under the engine if you dont mow with it anymore

    I've got a Husqvarna that is being a total butt. It's 24HP so I'm hoping to transform it into a UTV/dog exersizer.
    The engine seems perfectly fine, but everything else is failing. We just replaced the gearbox and now the belts are too big as we replaced them with the same belts that came standard but they don't fit.
    The deck is also REALLY causing issues.

    • @ProjectNineOaks
      @ProjectNineOaks  Рік тому

      Dang, sorry it's giving such issues! Just remember that the money you spend on your UTV conversion is MUCH less than buying a new UTV!
