Paint Removal on a Jon Boat | Paint Stripper, Sand Paper, Stainless Wire Wheel
the first step in my project is to remove the paint and expose any structural issues with the boat. The old paint was flaking off so this gives me a fresh start from which to apply the new paint.

Free Chicken Feed Success | Black Soldier Fly Larvae
Переглядів 2542 місяці тому
Turns out I just needed to wait longer! I didn't get a chance to add cardboard for the flies to land on and lay eggs. I just waited a bit longer for the compost to get broken down a little more. Looks like they like the older compost versus the "fresh" compost. For now, I'm getting about a handful of larvae a week. Nothing to replace my feed costs completely but at least it'll reduce it. Backyard Chicken Netting Support System
Переглядів 1804 місяці тому
When I installed netting as predator protection for my chickens, the sag was too much and wouldn't allow me to walk into the chicken run. I used 10 foot lengths of PVC piping secured in place to support the netting to get rid of the sag in the netting. The netting I used can be found here: a.co/d/53pBs4r Affiliate Link: Grubterra: bit.ly/3NJawdL 10% off using coupon code: NineOaks

Awesome video, thanks for putting this out there
Thanks For The Video Some People are appreciative!
No problem! Thank you for watching!
Nice work men, Do I need to register a canoe with a motor like that?
It depends on your state. In GA, I should but don't use this all that often so I haven't registered the canoe.
Is it possible to just cut warped areas out and use patch peices?
you can but you may run into other challenges. The overlap would need to be sealed real good. I could see a scenario when traveling in heavy rain could push water into the seam and the interior of the wall.
you didnt show attaching the tensioner spring. very crucial part...
What are the Pro's Con's of motor side mount vs directly behind stern on canoe?
since my canoe comes to a point in the back, I had to go with a side mount. Placing it off the point somehow would have put it too far back and not easily reached. Off the side works out great.
Much appreciated, I’ve searched high and low, trying to figure out which herbicide to use on my pecan trees. This was the most informative video yet. Liked and subscribed.
Glad I could help out! Thank you for watching
Thanks man , worked out well . Love the no drill design.
Great job Sir
Thank you for watching!
Awesome. You can sure score some good deals on Marketplace. A lot of work but it will be a fun project and you can make it yours!
What kind of plastic panels are you using? where did you get them?
They are 4x8 sheets of FRP panel. I was able to source them from Lowe's and Home Depot. It's a 1/16" panel I believe.
Any tips on how to build a door from nothing?? I drug an old camper home and it has no door. Very minimum water damage, I really wanna make a door for it somehow.
That may be a larger project. I think first you want to source the exterior and interior sheeting material. Some kind of sheet metal or plastic could work. The hardest part is likely going to be trim and hinges. The hinges on mine were not something standard from a hardware store.
Great project. I’ve been looking for a project boat too. Can’t wait to see the progress.
Thanks man! Good luck in your search. I'll definitely be learning on this one. Looking forward to getting it finished and having adventures on the water.
Going to be some great memories in that boat!!
That's the plan! Looking forward to getting it completed and on the water. Wife is looking forward to not having it in the driveway!
Taking it out, drill new hole that lines up with the nut better.
Saving to make something new out of something just something around
Good job mate. Keep it up.
Thank you! I appreciate it.
Just a small suggestion: why not use carriage bolts instead of hex head and install them upward from the clamp through the transom thwart, thereby allowing you to just screw the spinner nuts on from the top, saving fumbling around under the assembly. Just my lazy man's approach.
Love how the grain matches! Good job! :)
Your hole should be in the center of the studs that they're like an inch and a quarter from each side of the stud so a nail or a screw doesn't hit the wires or put a nail plate over the hole if it's close to the surface
Awsome thank you
no problem! Thank you for watching!
What size tip did you use ?
The paint sprayer only came with one tip so I'm not sure the size. It was a fairly low end sprayer but still worked well.
Why bleed it when it started?
I bleed the fuel lines after replacing the filter to get the air out of the lines and allow the engine to run. If you don't do that, it may not start. Or just take a very long time to start and work out the air in the lines.
Why not use a 4x4 on top to hitch the motor to? It would hand on better than the flimsy 2x4?
too much bulk . besides , a 2x4 that length is incredibly strong and will not likely flex at all .
The 2x4 on the top has worked well so far. Also, it may, but I'm not sure the motor mount is wide enough for a 4x4.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 love this ..recycle at its finest😊
thanks for watching. I do like this fence. I'm currently using version 2.
I think that's genius and very practical. Lawnmowers should have that originally made or something similar to it from the manufacturer. im going to fix mine just like that. thanks for sharing pal
Thank you for watching! This mini-bed on the lawnmower is so handy and still going strong. poor mans UTV!
I like how you are engineering this pole barn. However, I might have have bolted and sandwiched 2 beams directly through the I beams. so it can hold the weight of the roof?
Good idea. I think that would work as well.
Clever
I'm back!! Finally, I'm getting around to this part. You have been a life saver. I really can't tell you how much you've been a help to me completing my camper. Thanks again!
Haha. Glad I could help. filming my journey in building so others can see what I did and learn from my mistakes or take ideas and make them your own. Good luck on your project. Great feeling when it's "done!"
Keep it up. I wish you success
Thank you. I'm going to keep trying. Always looking for ways to save on costs!
Black Soldier Fly Larvae took over my compost bin by accident. I was concerned at first until I found out that they were beneficial. It's amazing how fast they break the food scraps down. In the winter, I made the mistake of cleaning the whole bin out because I didn't see activity. They go dormant / slow down in the winter, but come back after it warms up. It might be worth it to buy some live Larvae just to get things started.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'm going to add more food and also some cardboard as I heard they like to lay the eggs in the cardboard. If that doesn't work I think I'll buy some.
Thank you so much.
Glad it was helpful
Did you get a longer screw to fit the thicker material?
I hope it is strong enough. The board that the clamp goes on seems like a potential weak spot.
I appreciate the comment. I used it for a couple of years, maybe 20 or 30 times and still going strong. I had to refinish the wood with clear coat to keep it looking nice. I hope to get another couple of years' use before needing to make another.
Yup. about how I expected this belt to go. " had to beat this pulley" " then I unmounted the engined and moved the engine back " 😅 good times.
haha. Thanks. This repair is still going strong. Glad I haven't had to do it again!
Work like a charm. Appreciate the info
Glad I could help out!
Great update brother!
What kind of plywood did you use to cover the beams after insulation ?
My coupe is 4’x4’x 6’ high for 5 chickens. Yours is pretty small for that many
Where did you get you new metal from? Thanks!
Thank you for watching. There should be a link in the description. It was from a place in California.
I don’t know where you live but heat lamps aren’t a good idea. Moisture is much more dangerous than cold so ventilation is key. It doesn’t look like you have enough. I would look into that. I’ve been keeping chicken for a while and mine have dealt with 10 degrees for a high temp without heat. Just trying to be helpful
Thanks. Yep, I've already cut out some windows since this video.
That roost looks way too close to the wall. Jmo. I like the hinged wall for easy access to the interior.
That won't work for meat chickens. They grow so fast and so big they break a leg or neck like Joe Biden on the lawn. They will quit moving to even eat, unless you raise feeders and h20. That might work for layers. Up your knowledge.
What can I do if the engine locks?
Hard to say. Do you have an idea of the reason? Lack of oil? If it's truly locked up, not much you can do but replace the engine.
Xin chaof
