I saw Tool at 17 (expecting my son not aware I was pregnant) with the flaming lips opening and it was not even 200 people in the venue. Tickets were $15 with the fee included…last show was $250 and still fucking worth it . My son was at Bonnaroo with this being his second show. My kids know Tool is my favorite it’s like a religious experience. Fucking love the video thanks
Yeah tool in the open air, under the night sky... Beats the hell out of a stuffy stadium. Bonnaroo's mainstage has a pretty kickass sound system and engineers too. Sounds great 75 yards out where you can see the full stage spectacle.
The first time I saw tool was in 2001 at the Charlotte Amphitheater during the first leg of the Lateralus tour. It was outdoors and of the four times I have seen them, it was by far the best.
No idea if this is an uncommon song or not (my first time seeing Tool) but this gave me chills when it started. Not expecting this to be on the setlist but it may be my favorite song of theirs
@@WILDCRD-yi1jo oh yes I’m positive that’s why, Maynard wants you to buy his special Puscifer TV pay per views, and the guys in Tool would only allow a live concert video if it was absolutely perfect under their control.
Haha Hell No billy strings is Amazing but Way Different genre!! Tool is F ing Metal and Billy strings is Blue Grass!!! Tool is Billy’s Strings Daddy ❤️🔥
a let down?!?! maybe if you don't like Tool, otherwise I don't see how they could ever be a let down no matter who played before them. Billy Strings was great, but come on now.......I was there and can confidently say it was not a let down. ha.
idk, i think a lot of people were just tripping. I couldn't go, but an acquaintance of mine went without knowing anything about tool and left with their jaw dropped and as a new fan
Festivals, the only time you can film Tool without having to worry about getting kicked out. Thanks for the video man!
Dude. Right?!

when did that show with the flaming lips happen?
I'm lucky I got to see tool play outdoor twice in my life. It's always a different kind of atmosphere.

@@snapintoaslimjimohyeah Everyone I saw there this past weekend had great sound. Props to all the engineers running that show!
3x outside, Monster Mash in PHX, Aftershock in Sacramento, and last weekend at Bonnaroo...Phx n Sac were a little better. Still Tool either way

Thanks so much for the videos ! I live in Manchester and could hear his voice echoing in the hills . Sad I wasn’t there for the show though .
again.... For all those at home that were disappointed Hulu did not show this. Derek is the man. Head tool.
Pissed they arent showing Puscifer tonight either!
Imagine that, they show every band except for Tool and Puscifer
@@SterlingSimmons22 Could be a Maynard thing too...you know he is very particular about that stuff
