What a beautiful village Lee,took you back in time and people were so friendly. You could see you were enjoying the Toffee pudding the look on your face said it all. What a beautiful place 😊
What a beautiful town and its people appear friendly. The residents really care about their town due to no trash laying around. Thank you for showing me another lovely place to visit. Safe drive home.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Beautiful English traditional village, lovely lady at the village shop and Lee has a nice knack of getting people to chat. Keep up the great work.
Best sticky toffee in the world.Jean the inventor of Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding worked with me in the Post Office in Ulverston before she rose to fame with her Pudding many years ago.I am proud to have known her.All the best Jean!
Review Both mate. That looks like its got Treacle in the Toffee Pud. The good stuff that some may never have tried. Lee all i can say is Stop Reading the Menu please my Tongue is hanging out now. That Pub was what a Pub should be like. Especially after watching the Wetherspoons Breakfast lol. Ale Pie all day long by the way. Oh Cartmel is not to far from Tebay Services. That 3 star place had Kohlrabi on the menu. Used to sell that in our shop.
Have been to both L’Enclume and Rogan and Co multiple times and can confirm 3 stars are most definitely better than 1. Head and shoulders above the other and the price tag to show for it. Absolute worth it though. By the way you do realise Gordon Ramsey isn’t cooking your food don’t you? She’s just flogged his name to a chain restaurant
Anyone else miss Proper Shops. No Supermarket processed rubbish food in sight. Our small Town in the 60s and 70s you could buy anything. The Market was great. Today its Nail Bars, Turkish Barbers, Hair Saloons, Greggs, Poundland (where nothing is a Pound now), Fast Food and Curry Houses and Morrisons. Council introduced Parking Charges and within 2 Years the Town Passed Away into History. Councils do a Cracking Job of Killing High Streets.
@@johndean1634 yes I miss proper shops like those which are independent and not part of a big chain. Sadly, that is progress but in my view progress isn't the word. 😔
I csn’t imagine you paying £250 for the standard menu @ L’enclume, plus another £100 for the basic wine flight Lee. Plus there are supplements and a large service charge on top. It is quite the experience though but only if you are a full on foodie. Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon did a skit there on “The Trip” show. It’s hilarious!
First class vlog Lee & what a lovely place Cartmel is. Will have to make an effort to visit the place maybe sometime in the new year as I live at the other end of of country. Your out takes had me in stitches as once you get tongue tied it just goes down hill from there 😂 Need more vlogs like this Lee & keep up the good work 👏🏻 Onwards
Cartmel is a lovely village, i have been there many times over the years. The last time i visited, i came home with a life size, resin sheep to put in my garden. I bought it in a little shop through that archway 😄
Cartmell Sticky Toffee Pudding currently on offer at Farmfoods at £3.99. Bargain. Incidentally Madonna gets it flown over to the states where she resides it’s that good. But you need to buy the jars of Toffee Sauce for the sweet indulgence experience
Well done Lee for highlighting a great, local small business and public house. Shame about the parking. Maybe the council could have a look at that to encourage customers to engage in local businesses, unless of course the car park is on private land.
What a gorgeous village Cartmel is, and the fabulous weather helped to enhance it even more. I've never heard of Cartmel Racecourse and I've worked with race horses years ago, it looks lovely though but I bet it's manic there on race days. I think I'd go with you and the meat pie option in the restauant though. I didn't reckon much to the menu at the Michelin starred place though, i bet you get insanely small portions for a lot of money ... and what's that "supplement" charge about, never heard of that before? There wasn't anything on the menu which floated my boat though but I'd love see what their meals look like. Lovely video, you should go back sometime for a meal review there.
Michelin restaurants, Main courses so small they'd fit on a tea saucer on a dinner plate surrounded by sauce and costs a bloody fortune. As Mad Mick o'rooke who owned Tiptons pir factory said 'Midlanders won't have posh food outlets they want a plate full of food not a pork chop on a bit of jam on the corner of a plate costing £50'
hi lee ,what amazing video you did of cartmel, i love the music you did when you went in cartmel sticky toffee shop, could you plz tell me whos was it as i really like it,
Wow, what a kitschy wee village Lee. Looks like a fantastic area to stop and explore. Certainly a haven for foodies. Im going to add this place to my list of places to visit once i retire in a few years! Id love to just hop in my Aston Martin DB9 and waft down from Aberdeenshire for a few days! Brilliant review of a brilliant village! Top job.👍👏👏👏♥️🏴🏴
Not far from my old university of 50 years ago, Lancaster. There was even a 'Greasy Spoon' Cafe in 'Cartmel College', which I, and friends, often frequented after 'the night before'!
THe Unsworth connnection with Thora HIrd is the Sitcom In Loving Memory. Remember watching re-runs with my grandparents in late 70's. Also what about a Alright about the NIght featuring Bloopers from the MacMaster himself :)

That sticky toffee pudding managed to do (almost) what your critics always wanted to do, silence you lol
Great video Lee but £8 for some soup that’s a huge ripoff 🤦♂️🤦♂️👍

Yes but Gorden has a real Porsche. Like your content and know you secretly like Gorden.
Is it not Gordon? Thicker than the toffee on Ramzies pudding
No, sticky toffee pudding with invented in the Lake District by Francis Coulson.

Love a sticky toffee pudding, especially with ice cream as the cold perfectly contrasts with the hot pudding.
Spot on imo! the cold vanilla ice cream and the warm sweet pudding is gorgeous.
Lovely village, love the little stream and the restaurants and that sticky toffee pudding 😊
Have you photoshopped the chemical trails out of this one?! A rare day off for the flying rats.

It's won three stars, doesn't need reviews
I disagree
Great video thank you
I don’t like sticky toffee pudding but it’s good that a small business is doing well. Reassuring in these difficult times.
What's not to like about it??

I wonder if the Cartmel’s is the same recipe and would taste the same as the ones you can buy in the chilled section in Waitrose and Dobbies?
Bloopers, just what we wanted 😂. The best sticky toffee pud is at that pub I told you about. Cheers Lee.
Verry prity village 😊😊
What a beautiful store Lee 🥳
Cartmel sticky toffee pudding is gorgeous….unsworths was seen in the tv comedy “ in loving memory” with thora hird.

Paul used to go to my dad's pub in Leeds in the early 80s. He used to show me his moves from when he was a wrestler.
And Love thy neighbour.
Good video, Cartmel looks great so had to try the pudding, definitely the best sticky toffee pudding thanks to Waitrose.
Lamb for me. Beautiful place. Funny, no Macdonalds. Got to be good.
I just looked up a recipe for sticky toffee pudding and was dismayed that it contains dates. I don't like dates. Maybe there's a version that uses raisins and sultanas, both of which I like.
Outtakes were brilliant 😂
Lee before you go booking owt, “Alexander the Guest” does a good review on UA-cam, I’d watch that first.👍
Great video Lee, what a beautiful village, beautiful inside the church as well.
