- Hearts of Iron IV is a large game, with many updates it's inevitable that many things aren't visible to the average player. So today we will unearth these many things.
From portraits that reveal a major change in development, events that we need to use the console to see and many many easter eggs that you will have to go far out of your way to find.

If you flip the CC Clique to Communist, you get a Special Leader as well, who historically was the Rival to Mao in Communist Politics in China.
Zhang Guotao
is the leader regardless of if the CC Clique exists or not.
Also try flipping Democratic as CC Clique, you will get the usual leader but you have a rather interesting new country name

Fun fact, in a developer QNA a developer said the thing he wished was in the game but got cut from the dlc was a democratic tree in russia so that portrait of that guy was probably the remains of that idea, btw he did confirm it was cut because of time constraints

13:41 they added a different portrait, because the previous one was inacurrate. The smiling woman one belonged to a dutch soldier, and devs thought it was the argentine one

@@BubblesZest UA-cam keeps deleting my comments with links, but there isn't much around in english sadly, everything you'll see is from spanish sources. Confusion came because both Fanny Edelman and Fanny Schoonheyt did fight in the same civil war in Spain, with the difference that Edelman is argentine and the latter dutch
On the other hand, Vittorio Codovilla was the leader of the communist party before Edelman, so god knows how you're even supposed to have him as leader, perhaps it's just an unused portrait like you said

I’ll miss Rod Hull as the leader of The Emu Empire, but more realistic party leaders is good I suppose since Rod Hull was an infant in real life in the 30’s. I gotta see if Birdwood is still leader of Imperialist Australia though if Monarchist Britain does the decision
Too bad they didn't make a democratic path for Russia. Idk about Poland and the Baltics though but no democratic Russia seems like a lost opportunity. I would have loved a constitutional monarchy or a liberal republic under Kerensky or somebody else since Kerensky was unpopular af IRL.
In game files in soviet portraits you can see a portrait of tsar Stalin

I think those India events are just unused events for when Pakistan and Bangladesh break free respectively, judging by the event text at least

Sounds plausible, I cut out my speculation on the events for time and because I wasn’t sure.

Actually, Anasthasia wanting to be the KING of Poland isn't all that weird. We had one female monarch in our entire history - Jadwiga, specifically King Jadwiga, as the title of Queen was reserved for the king's spouse. It's actually incredible attention to detail.

Sounds about right, except I couldn't get these news events to fire naturally I'm unsold right now.

I have seen the cc clique. Was playing a-historical game and guanxi took over national leadership during japans invasion of china. Only thing is that Japan also took the non-aligned focus and also for some reason decided to puppet cc-clique in yunnan province when they eventually won. Since Japan was non-aligned Chiang Kai-shek was still the leader.
Looking at how they add more stuff in already released Stellaris dlcs, democratic Russia path might still be a possibility at some point
Regarding the flag of the Netherlands (about 17:00 in the video):
1. The two colored blue red flag belongs to Liechtenstein and was in use from 1921 - 1937. It had no symbols, just the 2 colors.
2. Two blue lions on a yellow background belongs to Schleswig. Denmark was using 3 blue lions on a yellow background. Schleswig was part of it for some time. But the facing of the lions is wrong. The tail is left and the head right. Paradox did flip it.
In general, this flag is a product of fantasy.
That French nuclear event brought so much nostalgia. I love modern hoi4 but part of me has nostalgia for old hoi4. Shit like invading Venezuela as the USA early, national unity, man.

One thing I've read on the wiki for hoi4 is agency missions for doing stuff against Yugoslavian partasians and rescuing Mussolini

They added a new portrait for Fanny Edelman because the original Portrait wasn't actually her! It was someone who went by a similar name and Paradox got confused.
Also, if you ever make another video, another Portrait that is very rare is communist leader Béla Kun of Hungary. Kun can only become leader if the great purge is never chosen which (I suppose before No step back) was borderline impossible.
So thats where the France pressures nuclear energy came from, thank u!

I once got wang Jingwei or whatever he's called in a game as leader of RoC. It seems the AI sometimes manages to do that on its own.
It happens if the AI chooses to kill Chiang-Kai Shek since there are atleast two ways that I know of it isn't that uncommon.
@@BubblesZest I was playing as soviet so I killed him but I was impressed by the fact alone that the AI somehow managed to capture CC.

When you talk about getting Wojtek as a General your audio bugs out and I can't hear the last prerequisite for getting him, something about Soviet Union being destroyed?
If that's true, should we then war against whoever has Moscow AGAIN and occupy it to get him as King?
To be fair what it actually says "Not in a faction with the Soviets" usually though to be strong enough to do it you have to destroy the USSR.
You could just always leave the Soviets with just Moscow to get King Wojtek.

Yeah, Poland can bend the knee and hand it over.
Even if Poland refuses, you will still get cores, the city of Danzig itself will self annex itself to you in most cases if you surround it typically, though I haven't had to surround it usually.

Señor Hilter's portrait has been removed as well. While it's still in the files, when you trigger the event the picture is all black

@@Casual_Killroy I think they're bugs. If you play with Greece you'll see that the Anatolian fascist Giorgio Kosmidis is replaced by the standard fascist, Mercouris. Not only that's inaccurate, but when Venizelos dies somehow your game switches back to the democratic successor, even if you're fascist. The game is clearly broken until someone fixes them

@@BubblesZest ah that’s cool, always bothered me how there wasn’t an anti-Stalinist communist leader and party to Pair with the non-soviet communist French branches, little oversights like that make the ideologies seem far more one-dimension then they have any right to be and adding that even if not many people will notice add a lot
