It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Frank V. Sacco, former president and CEO of Memorial from 1986 - 2016. Mr. Sacco passed peacefully at home with his family, following a cancer diagnosis. He was 77 years old.
Mr. Sacco’s commitment to Memorial and the South Florida community is unparalleled, dedicating four decades of his life to our institution. His visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to our mission shaped Memorial into the leading healthcare system it is today. His life and career were prolific and his impact exponential.
Mr. Sacco was not just a leader but an extraordinary mentor, a friend, and a relentless champion for patient safety, quality and service. Under his stewardship, Memorial experienced unprecedented growth and innovation, always with a focus on putting our patients first and improving the lives of those we are privileged to serve. He was a man of integrity, great courage, humility and vision.
We extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Sacco’s family during this difficult time. His memory and the exceptional culture of caring he built over decades, will forever remain a part of Memorial, and his contributions will continue to inspire us to improve the health of our community for generations.
A Celebration of Life that is open to the public will be held Friday, September 6, at 9 am at The Parker in Fort Lauderdale.
