imo th in the lighning dodge thing you press c always at the same time so you start to gain a rhythm after a couple tries the only weapon i didn't got was wakka
Caleb Franklin he’s really good unless you’re like me and took him down lulu’s path (the first time). Once you get like Wakka and Auron’s grid on him he’s so good. I took him down Rikku’s to get steal and the HP gains first tho.
If I may add a bit of tips... 1. If you are too weak to fight One Eye, focus on leveling Yuna's Strength to increase Anima's Strength, until you can deal 99999 per hit,. Then two basic attacks should kill off One Eye, from Anima that is. 2. One reward of 99x Door to Tomorrow is enough for all 7 characters, no need to bribe 3. Triple Overdrive is nice, but is overkill (no pun intended). A weapon with Triple AP & Overdrive -> AP is enough.
Best Guide I've seen so far! Congratulations on the amazing work...and complementing this great guide, it is nice to have Auto-haste and Auto Phoenix to max out the XP while farming Don Tonberry. Auto-haste - 80 chocobo wings - by bribing Machea from Omega Dungeon / 180k to bribe / ~25 wings per bribe / ~4M to Auto-haste all weapons (560 chocobo wings) Auto-phoenix - 20 mega phoenix - by bribing Ghost, from Cavern of the Stolen Fayth / 200k to bribe / ~35 mega phoenix per bribe / ~800k to auto-phoenix all weapons (140 mega phoenix)
I once completely deleted the entire sphere grid of hp spheres and every spere with less then plus 4 also deleted every mp sphere and replaced the entire board with brand new +4 stat +300 hp +40 mp. I got all my stats to 255 including luck and managed 78000 hp for yuna
yeah, i'm not sure if it's fully possible to max everything (sure as hell isn't on the expert grid), but once you get agility to 170, it acts as if you can't get any faster (minus haste and turn delay) for some reason... so you honestly could shave off about 85 points in agility to get more HP (which is 22 nodes, resulting in 6600 more HP)
I’m working on that right now! I have all stats maxed except for luck for almost every character (working on Auron and Kimahri), then testing out my characters on the dark aeons. I still have The Magus Sisters to take on, then Penance, of course. Not sure if I want to max Luck, though.. I figure any empty nodes will end up as HP spheres.
I beat this game twice, and it's been years, but this will take forever to do. I could never even get Wakka's, Kimihari;s, or Lulu's ultimate weapons due to how hard the requirements were. Guess I'll never get them, lol. This is a really cool vid though.
I’m having a go at this now but I’ve come across something weird. Tidus has gone around the grid and completed it with all his stats at 255; my Yuna has done the same but some of her stats are lower by 1 or 2 in some cases. Is there a reason for this? I would’ve thought they’d all have the same stats if the grid is fully completed with nodes all filled in. Not a big deal but just curious as to the way this works. Is it their base stats being different?
+Justin Lugo little late, but: You can beat the game (story mode) without stat maxing. You need it this just for the strongest optional bosses and for the 100% trophy :)
+josephbmcc nyc not sure if you found out yet, or what to do. but I did the whole sphere grid and all I did was level 3 characters, left all the empty nodes for last, then after I was done, I used the AP trick to get 99 slevels and went to all the empty nodes and start using spheres to max out stats, and used clear spheres on the nodes that didn't have +4 stat and replaced it with one that was +4 which is the spheres you get from the bosses in this video. then once one character completely filled it out, it wil already be there for all the others..just a lot of grinding is involved lol
jkbobful year ago but ill still answer, complete it default first just so you can do the farming required to get maxed easily then go back and rewrite, movement levels are nothing in future
jkbobful i finished the sphere grid with most of my party and then rebuilt the sphere grid. When i did some of my characters where down to 1300 hp and almost no stats. Customize your sphere grid with 3 players first. Work on the rest late when sphere grid has been remade
If you want to really max out your stats you need to clear the whole grid with clear spheres and build it up from scratch. Just use enough stat spheres to bring the lowest natural stat to 255. The rest is HP spheres. I managed to get everyones stats to 255 with MP 999 and HP 60k-ish. With a stamina drink in battle you can max HP as well.
Great video :) I would like to point out, however, that at 14min 31sec you say Ribbon protects against Earth Eater's deathstrike, but it does Not. Nonetheless, great video overall :)
I loved FFX and X-2 but I never bothered with all the overwhelming tedious crap you have to go through just to max out your character and get special weapons I mean you could beat the game faster than you could max out your character and that wasn’t the worst part for me, the worst part is trying to get all the ultimate weapons and then powering them!!🤦♂️🤦♂️🤯🤯 and if you missed one thing you could end up playing the whole game over again just to get Tidus or Yuna’s weapon.. I love the world of FF but I never loved the hassle of the game I usually just go straight through the story😅🤷♂️
You can farm Shinryu quickly - make sure Rikku, Tidus and Wakka have Celestial Weapons and overdrive mode Victor. All need to be maxed out. 1. Fight Besaid->Dingo twice - this should charge all OD to max 2. Fight Shinryu 3. Have Rikku mix two Power spheres (Frag grenade) - this inflicts Armor break with 100% certainty 4. Have Tidus do perfect Blitz Ace 5. Have Wakka do perfect Attack Reels This should finish off Shinryu before it has a turn
DOUBLE AP IS BETTER BECAUSE ONCE YOU GET TO A CERTAIN LEVEL THERE IS ONLY SO MUCH YOU CAN DO. AND ITS EASIER TO FARM. BUT THIS I A GREAT VIDEO FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO GOR TRIPLE
I think I was at around 130 hours on my save file when I finished the grid, so it's definitely time consuming. However, that time also includes doing basically everything in the game short of fighting Penance, so it's hard to give an exact number. There's a bit of luck involved with farming the drops too, so it can vary.
I saw a video from the completionist he said 160 hours but he was trying to do everything. I’m 125 hours in on my save file and barely getting to the triple ap weapons... like I’m watching this between farming capture monsters to get bosses unlocked like the one eye one 😂
220 hours on PS2 for me too. This includes clearing the whole grid and building it up from scratch to achieve max stats. 255 luck for everyone was a pain though. I ended up with arround 60k HP for everyone which can be maxed with a stamina drink.
this is just the start of one LONG AND HORRENDOUS grind if you want max stats... cause max stats is the following: HP- 99,999 MP- 9,999 (but you really don't need it considering 1 mp cost and three stars exists....) All other stats- 255 (but when your agility hits 170, it just stops giving you more turns in battle) and to get the eidolons to max stats, is even worse cause maxing out Yuna isn't enough for them... AND you need to go back and clear nodes to replace them with the highest possible increases to pull off max stats honestly, just get your HP to 9,999 (more if you want to be safe), MP to 999, Strength and Magic (maybe defense as well) to 255, and everything else to 200+ and you're capable of killing everything in the game, including Penance if you do it right cause Rikku's Hyper Mighty G overdrive is broken as hell
It's possible along side a guide and some really damn good rng. A slap is usually the chocobo race or just luck on sphere pulls for ceartain stats. I'm nowhere near plat and it's taken well over 150 plus hours because I got God awful luck for spheres

I can't believe in the remaster they did not design the arena monsters to drop a higher amount of Door to tomorrow, wings to discovery, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love this game and have replayed in many times, but since you only get like 1 or 2 drops, it makes maxing your characters take eons to do. And nobody got time for that.
the don tonberry trick is garbage, there's a much faster way. all you need is to put overdrive > AP on a triple AP weapon, remove any defense or hp node rikku gets, and have auto-phoenix. you can then simply go fight kottos and let rikku get countered to death. slap him around 5 times and you'll have more than enough AP for life. there's no need to farm kills or spend hours on a fight when you have high HP characters. the only problem is the final set of levels for rikku, but it goes so damn quickly it won't be an issue.
Also, to make quick work of ironclad(hp spheres) I would place master thief on Rikku(you get these from winning a 4 chest race at remiem temple and customising the 30 pendulum prize into master thief. Steal a shit ton of frag grenades from splashers in gagazet, Boom 100% of armour break. Proceed to either whip him or overdrive anima and he’s done. I know I said ‘quick’ but it doesn’t take long, mostly prep.
all it took me was to get 4 of all the monsters at the least. i didnt need to get more or didnt need as much. the only exception to that would be iron clad ig since there is only 3 iron giants in the game lol. also, i started the ap trick on doubles because i felt like it was just going to be way too long so i just grabed it and it was allready giving me so much. i see a huge difference, but it isnt all that bad like everyone says. all u need is patience. also u will find urself having to go get the power spheres and all that in the first place to even get all the stats u want anyway so might as well if u have done the whole ap trick.
Awesome video, just two questions: 1. Where can I farm clear spheres? 2. Considering I delete the nodes that don't give the maximum value for an stat, and replace them with max value nodes, and I just level up luck instead of accuracy and evasion... What is the minimun of each stat sphere I need to max the stats of every character (with 99999 HP but 999 MP)?
do you have to move to where the nodes are or do you just have to activate all the spheres in a characters node? asking because i want to complete this trophy before farming those luck spheres...

You don't need to move on every sphere. Let's say you are on a strength + 4 nod, next to that nod are 2 other nodes ( magic defense +3 and Agility +2) you can still activate them and get the bonus.
This trophy is kinda easy to get just takes time, since FF 12 HD is coming soon I decided to platnium this and 10-2 before it comes out. I'm close, all I need to do is get lulu a weapon and then I'm golden.
its funny cause the platinum is haunting me but the time investment with no fun in return is just so rough for me. good job getting it. im surprised on psn profiles so many people got it. probably a lot of people who played it back at release. i dont have that attachment to it.
Alex G I mean, I've played for a week, and I'm already half 1/4 or more of the sphere grid breaking 9999 damage for all characters basically except wakka because I don't have the last piece for the celestial weapon. I don't see it being hard, I see it being slightly time consuming, not too hard though.
Yes. Refrain from using Break HP Limit since the Limit Break gained per hit is scaled by damage received to maximum HP. So if your maximum HP is 9999 instead of 10,000 or more, you will receive more AP from every hit, and level faster.
actually you can keep one of the characters low hp by skipping most hp fields on the grid and sue that one to lvl the others. If you only have 2000 hp you can still use that char to get a lot of kills and maximize your ap gain. once the others are done you can go round and activate all the hp nodes you missed
to be honest, you should capture 10 of everything (the capture limit) just to unlock everything anyway. I think that's the requirement to unlock the Nemesis fight anyway, who drops dark matter i think...
I've reached the end game and have all the Celestial weapons but am too under leveled to take on One-Eye reliably - what should I be doing to get to that point?
One of the ways I used to level after reaching end game was to just run circles around the save sphere in Omega Ruins. The enemies there give fairly good AP, and the save sphere will keep you healed while you grind. You can still use the Overdrive---->AP trick on normal monsters for boosted AP per battle.
Punching Distance Gaming Hey, yeah what I wound up doing was giving Yuna a Double AP + Overdrive -> AP weapon and then massively overleveling her and using Aeons to wreck everything. Thanks again for the vid!
Lykotic Expert just places all characters around the center of the sphere so you can decide where you want people to concentrate. Basically you could trade Yuna to be the Black Mage and Lulu be the White Mage.
international version: --> catch x5+ of every monster as soon ap --> get x99 dark matters and a tonna ap --> have three break damage limit weapons (along with easily obtained godhand and masamune) --> skip the dehumanizing sidegames, but play enough blitzball to get attack reels --> all creations are unlocked except nemesis (who doesn't count b/c dark aeons) --> farm what you want spherewise until you can kill the animals you hate most --? plug holes --> have fun, but most of this will involve the tireless perfection of attack reels --> get all perfect weapons/armor from dark aeons --> finish plugging holes --> kill penance --> spend six months of your lifespan doing something else --> repeat
So I'm assuming you can endlessly gain AP for sphere levels right? Because if there was a limit, you could get stuck and unable to finish it I think. Just started playing this game today so idk much about how this stuff works yet

maxing the sphere grid is literally the worst part. if only it was faster. still, this game is infinitely better than the sequel

Its easy. Just a lot of grinding and finding stuff to listen to on UA-cam while doing said farming

i agree and if your strength is high enough you can skip the frag grenade as shinryu has low physical defense

I colour coded mine. Greens mid, red top, yellow bottom. Basically deleted every node and re-made it.

The internet says you need around 80 hours for platinum. After seeing that I wanted to as if you can even get the platinum within 80 hours.

Go to the entrance of the woods by the thunder plains. You can buy them from the vendor there.
It might be overkill but adding sos overdrive while leaving hp in yellow will double ap earned.
it is overkill indeed, with just overdrive x3, overdrive>PC and PC x3, you get 99AP in one fight if you kill Tomberry once he stopped using karma. ;)

the don tonberry trick is garbage, there's a much faster way. all you need is to put overdrive > AP on a triple AP weapon, remove any defense or hp node rikku gets, and have auto-phoenix. you can then simply go fight kottos and let rikku get countered to death. slap him around 5 times and you'll have more than enough AP for life. there's no need to farm kills or spend hours on a fight when you have high HP characters. the only problem is the final set of levels for rikku, but it goes so damn quickly it won't be an issue.

I would place master thief on Rikku(you get these from winning a 4 chest race at remiem temple and customising the 30 pendulum prize into master thief.

Boom 100% of armour break. Proceed to either whip him or overdrive anima and he’s done.

all it took me was to get 4 of all the monsters at the least. i didnt need to get more or didnt need as much. the only exception to that would be iron clad ig since there is only 3 iron giants in the game lol. also, i started the ap trick on doubles because i felt like it was just going to be way too long so i just grabed it and it was allready giving me so much. i see a huge difference, but it isnt all that bad like everyone says. all u need is patience. also u will find urself having to go get the power spheres and all that in the first place to even get all the stats u want anyway so might as well if u have done the whole ap trick.

2. Considering I delete the nodes that don't give the maximum value for an stat, and replace them with max value nodes, and I just level up luck instead of accuracy and evasion... What is the minimun of each stat sphere I need to max the stats of every character (with 99999 HP but 999 MP)?

You don't need to move on every sphere.
Let's say you are on a strength + 4 nod, next to that nod are 2 other nodes ( magic defense +3 and Agility +2) you can still activate them and get the bonus.

From what I've read, Triple Overdrive and SOS Overdrive do not stack. So having them both won't help you.

This trophy is kinda easy to get just takes time, since FF 12 HD is coming soon I decided to platnium this and 10-2 before it comes out. I'm close, all I need to do is get lulu a weapon and then I'm golden.
its funny cause the platinum is haunting me but the time investment with no fun in return is just so rough for me. good job getting it. im surprised on psn profiles so many people got it. probably a lot of people who played it back at release. i dont have that attachment to it.
Alex G I mean, I've played for a week, and I'm already half 1/4 or more of the sphere grid breaking 9999 damage for all characters basically except wakka because I don't have the last piece for the celestial weapon.
I don't see it being hard, I see it being slightly time consuming, not too hard though.

Yes. Refrain from using Break HP Limit since the Limit Break gained per hit is scaled by damage received to maximum HP. So if your maximum HP is 9999 instead of 10,000 or more, you will receive more AP from every hit, and level faster.
actually you can keep one of the characters low hp by skipping most hp fields on the grid and sue that one to lvl the others. If you only have 2000 hp you can still use that char to get a lot of kills and maximize your ap gain. once the others are done you can go round and activate all the hp nodes you missed
this guide is awesome! but theres a slight mistake, to unlock one-eye its 4 of every eye monster not 5.... i think
to be honest, you should capture 10 of everything (the capture limit) just to unlock everything anyway. I think that's the requirement to unlock the Nemesis fight anyway, who drops dark matter i think...
so its best for me to go ahead and capture 10 of every spieces then huh. damn

yeah since you will probably want to fight all the hidden bosses anyways if you go through the trouble to max out your stats.

I've reached the end game and have all the Celestial weapons but am too under leveled to take on One-Eye reliably - what should I be doing to get to that point?
One of the ways I used to level after reaching end game was to just run circles around the save sphere in Omega Ruins. The enemies there give fairly good AP, and the save sphere will keep you healed while you grind. You can still use the Overdrive---->AP trick on normal monsters for boosted AP per battle.

Lykotic Expert just places all characters around the center of the sphere so you can decide where you want people to concentrate.
Basically you could trade Yuna to be the Black Mage and Lulu be the White Mage.
international version:
--> catch x5+ of every monster as soon ap
--> get x99 dark matters and a tonna ap
--> have three break damage limit weapons (along with easily obtained godhand and masamune)
--> skip the dehumanizing sidegames, but play enough blitzball to get attack reels
--> all creations are unlocked except nemesis (who doesn't count b/c dark aeons)
--> farm what you want spherewise until you can kill the animals you hate most
--? plug holes
--> have fun, but most of this will involve the tireless perfection of attack reels
--> get all perfect weapons/armor from dark aeons
--> finish plugging holes
--> kill penance
--> spend six months of your lifespan doing something else
--> repeat
just go to omega and farm end of story. eventually you will get or have cel weapons which give you x2 ap and some like durandal offer x3 ap....

how many spheres per ability do i need? so i dont do to much on hp spheres and wont have enough empty nods to fill f.ex. defence sphere
worst case just use the destruct spheres. if you destroy low yield fields and replace them with better ones you don't need much space at all actually
64 which is slightly over the 255 max but you cant do the 63.75 actual requirement (max sphere value of 4, 255/4=63.75)
this method takes too long plus you have to farm for ages for either the money and the items like winning formulas its stupid
So I'm assuming you can endlessly gain AP for sphere levels right? Because if there was a limit, you could get stuck and unable to finish it I think.

You can gain an unlimited number of S.Lvls through AP gains. The required amount per level caps at 22,000.
